Amazing place to go to. Havent done physical activity in a very long time so this really helped me get back into it. Even with my bad knee due to an injury from over a decade ago Im still able to participate and tackle on the walls. Have been coming every week and will be coming back every week.

An amazing bouldering gym. The walls were designed super well to 1 offer tons of climbing and 2 to offer varied unique angles. W/ great customer service, excellent setting, showers + workout area, this is one of the best bouldering gyms Ive been to in the western U.S.All the climbs I got on here were set with a 4/5, 5/5 quality. (Imo) As a 6 climber, all the climbs had just the right number of holds to make the sequencing clear and flowy. (If I was shorter Id probably wish there were more foot holds) Climbs are well varied in style. (even the easier ones) Climbs seem a bit soft in comparison to Utah and Arizona setting. Overall the climbing is excellent!Staff are very attentive, helpful, and friendly. In particular, I spoke with Brad and Claire. They were both awesome, answering my multiple questions through out the night!I arrived around 8:45 pm on a Wednesday night. It was pretty dang busy, even for how late it was. (I was always able to get immediately on the wall, because although it was busy, there was a lot of standing around and chatting. -seems like a great community) By 10 pm, the gym was fairly empty.Showers are upstairs w/ free towels available downstairs.Community tape.Community skin maintenance kit.Reminders on rules posted through out the gym.Good gym etiquette from the climbers.Top out boulders.Comp style problems.Campus boards. 4 different sizes including a sloper.Workout area downstairs and upstairs.Lockers upstairs.

Came here with 3 friends as apart of my birthday weekend activities and had a blast. We did the intro class for 30/person I believe and afterwards you can climb for as long and as much as you like. Instructor was great. Class was pretty quick & straightforward and we had an amazing time afterwards testing our strengths. Stayed so long we missed an activity after because we tired ourselves out. Only issue was renting shoes for one friend because hes a giant and wears a size 15. Closest they had was 13 I think. Not their fault hes got giants blood though, right?

This place is great, the members are friendly and the route setting is creative with mostly consistent grading. First class bouldering gym.A part of the Touchstone Climbing Gyms. Place is huge with many various challenging routes for any level climber. Well padded floors in all climbing areas. It is bouldering only so there are no ropes here. LA Boulder has locker rooms (bring your own lock) and showers, bikes, weights and some other exercise equipment. Parking can be tough at times with a small lot in front. Park in LAB marked spots and not gun club. Otherwise park against the wall facing the gym or down the street. $25 for a day pass as of July 18. Rental available for shoes and chalk. Some classes offered for climbing and yoga. Open weekdays til 10pm only until 6pm on weekends. Wish they would be open later on weekends.Started the awesome sport of climbing here. I took the beginners bouldering class. Short class less than an hour to get you going.. Filled with smiling, friendly people. The climbing community in general is very welcoming and its easy to become part of a unique group. Your become part of the family once you get that exhilaration of making to the top. It was easy to get hooked. Bought some shoes ASAP. Checked out other gyms. Started top rope climbing. Now I go once a week. Great exercise.Beginners to expert can all enjoy a visit to LAB. It is highly recommended

Loooooove Hollywood Boulders so this place feels a little less. Im trying to put my finger on what exactly it is but I think the problems, for the most part, seem similar as the walls themselves are pretty similar so theres only so much you can do with the jugs, crimps, etc. The middle island area and back cave area are cool though. Weight area is small and everything seems sort of cramped. Also it was really hot. Still cool spot to have in conjunction with the overall Touchstone network, but on its own it leaves some to be wanted.

This is my go to climbing gym. Im here at least twice a week. Ive been coming here since grand opening and it is awesome. The setting is top notch and they always rotate setting every week. Every time I go into the gym I can always count on a new section being set.The staff is friendly and so are the locals that climb there. They have gym facilities and offer a variety of free classes for there members.Parking is the only issue here. The gun club next store always has some dude standing guard over the parking. I get it, parking is limited but dont take it so serious.

This place! So great! I love that parking is available, though not always easy to grab, the staff is friendly and invested in the space, and the equipment is insanely well maintained. Ive gotten really into climbing the last 4 months and this was a great place to start but still with so much more to learn since the facility is large and diverse. There are locker rooms upstairs so changing is convenient and there are even some weight and cross-training equipment so this could easily replace your standard gym membership. Just be sure to grab some lotion on your way out because those grips wont be kind to your soft, baby hands.

Love this gym. Ive climbed at 6 others and this place is just great. Its a good size with lots of bouldering problems, staff are friendly and the space is well maintained. For beginners in particular, they have very approachable V0/V1 routes, which is not always the case at other gyms.

I went for the Thai and Fly Massage - I didnt use any amenities at the gym. It was $25 per person which is expensive just to come for the 1 hour class. I was hoping the price is worth it but it wasnt. My guest was from out of the country and agreed. The room was so transparent, we could hear everything. They placed a common area with chairs outside the makeshift room and I heard the entire conversation while trying to meditate and massage. I also was laying on the floor that constantly shook and then I heard the gun range going off next to me. To top it off the instructor did a half has session since it was only my guest and I in the room. I spun it to be a positive that it was more like a private session but her lack of passion for the class was apparent. I wouldnt go here again for this. Ever.

Review №39

Think youve got what it takes to conquer the routes because you go to the gym regularly and are in decent shape? Well put that pride away and think again! I didnt realize it initially since it was my first time bouldering, but I soon accepted that my strength was not going to be a trump card for routes beyond V3. You have to practice and master good technique and finesse to finish the harder routes. Pace yourself and take breaks because you will tire yourself out quickly in less than 2 hours if you attempt climb after climb. This facility has something for people of all skill levels and interests. Not only are there bootcamp and yoga classes, they also have a strength training area complete with weights. Though they do not have roped climbing, they do have about 200 bouldering routes. These routes are all color coordinated with grips of all sizes and shapes. The floor is well-padded so falls for beginners like myself did not seem so bad. You should consider practicing proper landing/falling techniques that are taught in the introductory class that I did not have a chance to take.Pricing has naturally gone up over the years. It is now $25 for weekdays after 3pm and weekends and $20 for weekdays before 3pm. Members are able to bring a friend for free through a guest pass on the 4th Friday of every month. Parking is probably the only sore spot. When you give up on looking for parking on the small lot shared with the shooting range next door, youll find a space somewhere eventually on the street. But beware of the signs!

LA Boulders is the best bouldering gym Ive ever been to. The climbs are amazing and the staff and people are chill and it has one of the lowest counts of climberbros who mansplain beta without you asking for it so thats worth an extra star right there. Props to the setters as all the climbs are intuitive and satisfying. Guaranteed youll awaken inside of you some sort climbing beast that will have an insatiable desire to climb and project at least one of the great climbs there. Good for kids and climbers wanting to take their friends interested in climbing or even a potential date!! Warning! Parking can be a pain sometimes and day passes and membership is a bit pricey but for what you get including a fitness center, yoga and other work out classes this is the best bouldering gym in Southern California. Also theres AC..

My home gym, and its pretty dang awesome. I come for the ropes, although the bouldering is great as well and there is plenty of wall space. This place is pretty big relative to other gyms Ive been to. Only complaint is that it gets really crowded on weeknights. Like, so crowded (especially in first few months of the year) that I wont even bother. Ill drive way out of my way to go to another Touchstone gym just to avoid the crowd. But if you go during the day in the week or in the morning on the weekends, its a great place to climb.

I alternate between L.A.B. and Hollywood boulders. Between the two switching up their routes generally keeps things interesting. Like Hollywood, parking can be a pain, but not as bad, but I also try to avoid peak times. Employees are all pretty chill people. Wish they open a little earlier at times, being more of a morning person, I like climbing practically first thing. I forget they open later in the morning and will head down to find there is an hour or so before they open. Not even talking crack of dawn early, Id be happy if they opened at 9.

Who doesnt want to go boulder in a famous Touchstone Gym and then get fancy food/drink right after? Large facility nestled in a cramped parking lot, LA.B is a climbers mistress to their local gym. With no rope in sight, the room is filled with white walls as far as the eye can see. Every style up, even with an aggressive overhang. Settings are reasonable and the top out is awesome. The other gym amenities (weight room, cardio area, bathroom) are up to standard with the gym as well. Always a drop in for me whenever Im up in the LA area.

Similar in rating to other Touchstone gyms. Plenty of variety, top-out on most of the problems and its brand spankin new! Nice plush padded floors and a decent revolving music list rather than only one type of music dominating the scene. Fun place and its closer for us central/northern LA dwellers as compared to Rockreation or The ARC.I like it better than Hollywood boulders too since there are more top out problems and better features in my opinion. Hollywood parking is far worse too.
