The whole experience with Hertz was wonderful. I made a reservation over the phone and when I showed up to pick you the rental service was fluid. It was seamless. The representative was friendly and had a smile which is very important when dealing with customers. I was in and out of there in a matter a few minutes. I am very satisfied with their level of service. Vehicle was very very clean! Thank you Hertz!
I had a great journey traveling with my 14-year old son. I had not spent quality time with my son since the separation in 2020, complicated by CoVid-19. I needed quality time. He is nearly 15 and we needed an intensive check-in. We drove from Long Beach through the Las Vegas strip to Page Arizona, spent days there touring the mind-blowing canyons of the Navajo Nation in the Lower Antelope Valley, Horseshoe Bend, bouncing around on UVAs it was amazing. Home 2Suites there by Hyatt is awesome. The rooms are amazing and fully stocked to include a dishwasher. My son and I met up with other family members from Washington DC and Mid-Texas. After three amazing days, we traveled through the Grand Canyon on our way to Sedona. In Sedona, we stayed in the Arabella Hotel. Warning: mosquito repellant mandatory! We spent 3-days there. Honestly, Arabella ranked 2 out of 5 stars. For the price. Id rank it 1.5. Staff lacks the attention-to-detail expected for the price. The saving grace is the environment. The vistas are soul-stirring. Still, I know when I check ratings, I expect candor. Sedona is beautiful, Arabella doesnt provide a basic microwave, the refrigerator was Motel 6 quality. Enough of Arabella. We drive from Sedona to the Phoenix airport, dropped off our DC family. My son and I bid our farewells and pressed on from Phoenix to his city Culver City (divorce) and finally me back to Long Beach. The car was great, the brakes too soft, but the Chevy Equinox was comfortable. I drove more than 10-hours, 2-times during our week-long trip. I used 5-tanks of gas. I even kept the Equinox an extra day to attend a funeral. My trip, 6-fill-ups, and the final fill-up were to return the vehicle with a full tank.
Drop off was quickly and easy, taking less than 3 minutes. All that was necessary was the documentation of mileage and the return of keys.On another note, I cut my hand and began bleeding, but the employee was there to help me out.5/5 will recommend.

Dont rent here. Unprofessional and unwilling to care. Workers will wait for you to request the manager when they dont know how to do something, instead of ask for assistance themselves. You have to force them to help you properly. They agreed to give us 4 wheel drive and after they already had given us a hard time I didnt expect them to make a mistake, and they sent us in the mountains with 2 wheel drive(in the snow) which is extremely unsafe and specifically what we didnt ask. All of this, making us late for my moms funeral. This was my first experience renting a car and I will never go back to this location.
Dont rent here. Pre-booked a standard car, total was $287. When we got there we Upgraded to a small suv ($100 extra) and added insurance and our total was an additional $400 on top of the 287. Ridiculous

If I can give this place a zero I would. Very unprofessional. They gave me a broken down rental after I told them that I was going on a 7 state road trip. They left me stranded and I paid their good insurance for nothing. This was my first and last time renting from this place. I should have gone with my initial gut but wanted to give them a chance and never again.
Will not rent from them again. They have not returned my deposit. They took an additional charge from my bank with out notification. I called and no answer.

Hertz was so convenient, the employees were NICE and the kind of car I reserved was actually ready. I had just used Budget at the airport before and they were awful all around. I was nervous, but Hertz made everything easy.
Touched down to this location from Chicago and was greeted with a smile from Marissa which I had previously spoke with on the phone. Grade A customer service and will defly book again when I fly in LGB.
Hertz tried to fraudulently charge me for not filling up the car before returning it.They dont have an agent actually go and check your car as youre returning, youre supposed to note the mileage an fuel level, return the keys to the booth and be on your way.I filled the car up completely at the Chevron right by the airport and yet they still tried to charge me $25 for fuel.I wrote Hertz customer service, providing the gas receipt, and they refunded me.If you rent from this location, make sure and document the fuel level and insist a physical person comes to check it so they dont try to charge you as well.

See some terrible reviews about this location. I just rented a vehicle for 3 days and my check in experience was fantastic. I don’t know the woman’s name that helped me but she was quick and efficient. She provided me with options for rental insurance etc, even though I already have it covered with American Express, I declined but she explained everything and had me on my way in less than 5 minutes. I returned the car 8/6/19 and got my ereceipt today. Simple service is important while traveling and they did that for me here.Recommend. A++++
The Hertz here at the Long Beach airport is extremely convenient because it is right outside the front door of the airport. They are a very small location with limited availability of vehicles. However, they seem to do a great job managing inventory to meet demand. I have used them 3 times in the past few months and in each case I was extremely pleased with the vehicle I received as well as the quality of service from the employees there. I found them to be extremely helpful, polite, and professional. I will definitely be using them for future trips through Long Beach.
The van I booked was clean and in good shape. The pricing was as expected. The staff was helpful but not very friendly. I understand the person may have just been having a bad day, which is acceptable, however some friendliness would have been appreciated.

I like coming here because the service is fast for the most part. However, the past few times that I have come to pick up my reservation, it has not been ready on time and I have had to wait 30+ minutes for a car. Will probably consider renting elsewhere from now on.

Convenient location. The car given me reeked of tobacco. I couldnt take how strong. I complained and waited 45 minutes for another car. What they gave me was a downgraded older car that was OK. Overall, Meh.
Rented a vehicle her for couple of days, staff are friendly and helpful, but had to wait a while for the vehicle, apparently l, they sent off many of their fleet to get the recall service done, I ended up with a car that had a blown shock and lethal worn rotors or pads, I had no choice but to take the vehicle since my appointment was coming up fast. As I said, no complaints towards staff but the equipment situation was o so satisfying.

My car was ready and waiting when I arrived (hertz gold counter around the side). The attendant was fast and friendly. My first car had an odd odor and she was more than happy to do the necessary paperwork to switch me to another rental car. I was very pleased with the experience!

Our flight was delayed, so we got to the counter about 10 minutes BEFORE closing, staff couldnt be bothered to process our reservation. Also, there was no one in the parking lot to check our paperwork so we just drove off.

So easy to rent here! This airport is smaller than a bus station. Arrivals area, car rental and uber pick up are all literally next to each other.
Use their app and become a gold member. Reserve your car online and pay ahead which is cheaper and you pick up your keys outside their booth. Showed my Drivers License and took a whole 30 seconds to pick up the car. Rented a 7 seater for the weekend and got a 2018 Toyota Sequoia. Car had 6,440 miles, brand new! Return was just as easy, gave my current miles and that was it. Friendly staff and easy of use.

Easy in/out which is most important. No Hertz Gold Club #1 board but there was no line at counter so I got car fast. Parking spaces were poorly marked so I used wireless key fob to see which cars lights blinked.
Took a really long time to get the cars out and when you bring them back, it’s kind of chaos and there’s no direction on where to go. We had to wait a while to get someone to come check us out. The car was clean and well taken care of.

Last week we rented a Hertz car which was a 2016 KIA, but I could not get into it on the drivers side without laying down on the seat as I am 6 +and my wife could not get her feet in the passengers side this even with both seats. The Hertz agent immediately switched to a 2016 Jeep Cherokee that had better access. It all worked gand we had a good experience with Hertz in Long Beach, CA Airport

Easy in and out at this Hertz location. It is right across from baggage claim, so its so convenient! Gold Club members have a separate kiosk to pick up the key, and the attendant will confirm your reservation. The vehicle we were given had a long scuff mark at the front bumper, but no Hertz rep was around the lot to advise us, so we just took photos and went on our way. Vehicle was clean and drove well. Upon returning the vehicle, we mentioned the prior damage to the attendant and she asked to see the photos. She gave us no issues, except to remind us to let someone know next time, so it can be documented or give us a different vehicle.
Last week we rented a minivan from Hertz at the Long Beach Airport. As always, the vehicle was ready, spotless and in exceptional condition. Thing were ready to go the moment we arrived. The staff were competent and professional in every way. Hertz always seems to be a cut above the others. The value we received from Hertz was excellent.

I had a reservation was on time and Hertz had no cars available. I have dealt with that situation at many other Hertz and they have either helped me get a car with a competitor or offered me compensation for inconveniencing me by making me wait. Not this Hertz. The employee told me you can wait in competitors lines and see if they can accommodate you or wait for a car 30-45 min. Employee was super rude when I told the line behind me they were out of cars. She didn’t think it was ok for me to let others know about Hertz’s problem so before they committed to waiting in line they could go to the competitors.
My flight was delayed almost 4 hours getting me into LB way after closing time...i called hertz from NYC told them about the delay, and they said no worries. there was someone waiting for me when i arrived, with a great jetta! the getting and returning of the vehicle was a breeze.thank you hertz for your amazing customer service.
Overall service was very good, with exception of only one person at the counter...(I arrived at 9:30 pm), after a 15 to 20 minute wait, someone finally manned the Gold Counter.The service was exceptional after the delay...

Booked my reservation online, went to long beach airport, stood in line, signed an agreement and walked out with the keys to the rental van. The van was clean, good on gas, and spacious! Turning the van in was just as easy. Pulled up to the Hertz section, parked the van, turned the keys in and was out of there in less than 10mins. Will MOST DEFINITELY, rent from HERTZ again!!! Keep up the GOOD WORK !!!

I have been renting from Hertz for years and always had a great experience. When in Long Beach we had to exchange our car due to a tire issue and had a very bad experience with the attendant Maria. This women did not make us feel welcome but more of an invonvience out of her day. Its very sad to see that we still live in such a homophobic society and that you would lie on somebody to charge them $300 dollars. Long Beach Pride was still a great memory but this experience will not be forgotten. I will not rent from this location ever again and would not recommend you at least deal with Maria in the little booth in the lot of your part of the LBGTQ Community.

Horrible service!! Rented a 7 seater SUV. They did not have the car when we went to pick it up. They said they had no car for us and if we wanted one we would have to drive to LAX or OC airport to pick it up. Ended up giving us a lower class car (5 seater) after over two hours of waiting which was also dective rear latch. Terrible, terrible experience. And all they offer is a $50 credit. Do I look and sound like I want to rent with Hertz ever again?? I dont think so. I do not recommend this place. Save yourself the trouble and go with another company.

Unfortunately, this time things were subpar.I paid for an upgrade, and after over 40 minutes to get in the car, was running late to get to an appointment.This car had a white, creamy, salty like substance on the seats, windshield, dash and steering column. There were 8 people in line, so no time to switch cars. We used wet ones to wipe what seemed like someone shot cum everywhere.Im sorry, mam you should have returned it for another car is far from service.I expected the upgrade to be removed.Not impressed.

The first time, they charged me a huge desposit and the keys to small dirty car which I literally had to find it myself in their underground parking garage. The second time was even worse. I made my reservation over a week ago, flew in and came to pick up my car but they had nothing. In fact, I’m still sitting here waiting for them to let me know there is a car available. Apparently there was a flight delay last night which arrived this morning and that is why they don’t have cars available right now. I think this is wrong because when I booked my reservation, it asked me for my flight number so that “they could see any changes in the flight” meaning they would be aware of any delays and other complications and should accommodate accordingly. I’m sitting here in the lobby waiting for them to call me along with many others waiting to get out the the airport and get to places. I have spent over 1000 on just rentals from hertz within the last 6 months and I’m part of their gold membership but yet here I’m being told to hang out and there is nothing they can do. For starters, you can rent a car from another company and make up for the difference on your end because it was your responsibility to make sure I get my car on time. I have been waiting longer for a car to become available than the duration of my flight to get here. After this I’m canceling my membership with hertz and never looking back. You literally have ONE job and can’t even manage to handle that.

I rent a car over their last weekend. When I returned the car, my Wallet was left in the car since it slide under the seat. Then I checked in my flight and was about to on board, they called me to inform me about the lost wallet. I was quite anxious since I have something very important in my wallet. The Manager (I think she called Karen) went through the process of Lost and Found in Hertz, and mailed my wallet right away. I received my wallet in less than two days.I really appreciate the kindness and honestness of people working there, and I also want to compliment the customer service in Hertz. They designed a mechanism that is transparent and trackable for both customers and employees. All in all, thanks a lot!
Great little rental at Long Beach airport. If youre Hertz Gold, you need to go to the parking lot and look for a little booth (not the bungalows) that will attend to your needs. If theres no one in the booth, then find someone in the bungalow that says Hertz over the sign. When you return the car, you need to park it at one of the designated parking stalls. Its a little more inconvenient than pulling up and having the agent attend to you. After you park the car, you need to take note of how many miles were driven and write it on a piece of paper. Its pretty old school with a few extra steps but nothing horrible.
My flight was 3 hours late and I landed close to midnight. I was worried the rental office would be closed. I was greeted with a friendly face. With my reservation, my paperwork was completed in less than 5 minutes and I was out the door with my car keys.

Rented in Long Beach, CA. Car wasnt ready when I arrived and took 25 minutes to complete paperwork and find my class of car - a high mileage car with noisy AC fan and poor AC results. Not up to Hertz standards. Seems if you rent though their website you get better cars; if you go through a third party you get older, smelly, high mileage vehicles. Has happened to me multiple times. Very disappointed.

I will NEVER rent from hertz EVER EVER AGAIN. I just flew all the way to long beach and had the worst experience of my LIFE. I booked my reservation through Travelocity, and NO WHERE TO BE FOUND WAS THE FINE PRINT THAT IF YOU DONT PASS THEIR CREDIT CHECK, THEY WONT RENT YOU THE CAR. The lovely lady at the front also mentioned that there were NO OTHER CARS AVAILABLE EVEN IF I STARTED A NEW RESERVATION. So now Im here, stranded, and they can even refund me my money. She literally told me its travelocitys fault and that its not her fault that they are in the business of taking my money. Thanks hertz, for ruining my entire trip. A trip that BTW was only 2 1/2 days long with a confirmed round trip flight!!!!!!!! If you can, avoid renting with them at all cost!!!!!!!!!!!
Easily accessible, just walk out the front door of LGB and theyre just across the way. Ive only rented here once but the agent was high and mighty after he realized we were getting a free rental from some certificates a friend gave us and got very particular about what we could and couldnt use them for despite what the restrictions on the certificates said. Renter beware.

Minor wait time in Long Beach but getting the car was good. I have issues with the car though. VW Passat-the A/C could not keep up and cool the interior and this was driving down to San Diego. An issue was the throttle, I found it sticky. I could not leave from a stop smoothly. Lastly, I have not heard of having to step on the brake just to start the car(its an automatic transmission). When I brought the car back I did mention the throttle issue and the employee stated that she would have service check it out(I wonder if that was done).
Worse costumer service, I let the guy know it was my first time renting a car and if he can help me out, by guiding me through the process and he he did not. I just had the worst experience ever I will never come back to this location.
Car I wanted wasnt available even though I my reservation was an upgrade. First car had a dummy light, so it was immediately returned. I asked for another car in the same category and it was unavailable, yet on the lot.

Car in less than optimal shape. GOT a big ticket for driving in 110 carpool lane with multiple passengers. Hertz should have warned us about this absurd traffic rule in LA. Instead, Hertz charges me $30 for processing fee. BAD!
