No cars available when we arrived, reservation is already made, staff say it loudly and proudly “NO Cars Today “ Poorly attitude….We managed to book with Enterprise immediately which is in the same premise.We had to cancel our booking & takes time to get money back.You may need to think twine before reserving a car from Alamo Long Beach Office .Don’t let Alamo mess up your trip.

Bought bundle through a 3rd party app. Was able to pick up the vehicle with no deposit upon showing return flight. No one mentioned I didnt have to fill up gas tank upon return. Waiting to see if I will be refunded.

I recently rented a vehicle from this location. I had some problems and immediately I was helped and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. I have rented twice from this location and each time I was helped by a very nice gentleman, Imtiaz Khan. He was extremely helpful, professional and made my experience great. It is rare to find happy and helpful customer reps that go out of their way for the customer. Most car rental experiences are stressful and overwhelming. But I personally want to thank Imtiaz Khan and the entire staff at the Long Beach, CA. Alamo Car Rental Airport location for making my car rental stress free and a great experience, and I will continue rent from them as long I need a car rental. Shifty. I reserved a minivan online. When I went to pick up I was told there where no minivans, and no appology for the oversight. I went to Hertz and was totally satisfied! Forget Alamo.... they are bad news.

I love Alamo. It is such a quick process, even at the locations where they dont offer skip the counter service. Over the years, I have used several other agencies, but I have stuck with Alamo for the past 4 because of the service and ease and low pressure rental and return processes.

I travel into Long Beach airport twice a month for work in southern California. I always get a good clean car or SUV .The agents at the front desk are the best they make sure that Im treated well and correct mistakes that I made on my reservations.Each time Im greeted with a smile. Even when I return the rental is so easy and fast and the staff are the best.I rented from many other rental agencies, however for the last 4 years it has been Alamo and I will continue to use Alamo due to the great service.

So other than a minor issue I need to call Alamo about regarding the rate Alamo staff at the Burbank airport were amazing. I had a small ding in my window that could’ve gone either way. Much thanks and appreciation to Justin the evaluator who concluded that the ding was so small that they could fix it there without having to go through my insurance. I am so grateful to Justin and Hazmik (sp) for making this experience so pleasant.

Worst experience, car smelt like straight weed and we later found out the car was never detailed! We found a laptop and stains everywhere.. please improve your cleaning And sanitation procedures especially during these Covid times very disappointing

Was very satisfied with the rental car. Check-out was a breeze. the attendant was very helpful. Check-in was ok. We had to go into the office and make the payment due to the fact that we wanted to split the cost. The attendant that helps us was a little rude. I feel that Alamo should be able to allow customers to be able to split a cost if needed. Overall the experience was a good one.

The people at Alamo (LAX and at Long Beach) were fine, but the Chevy Malibu I had was terrible. When I would try turning it off, it would intermittently give me a Shift to Park error message and would not shut down power to the car. It was a total pain in the neck when I was trying to get out and see Dios grave. Also, the mileage was totally terrible. I averaged 20mph. Granted its LA, but come on. I guess these are more on Chevy than Alamo, but maybe Alamo shouldnt offer this hunk o junk?

Our flight was delayed approximately 3 hours, which meant we wouldnt arrive until after they closed. We prepaid for our car, and tried to contact Alamo directly. Rather than reaching their site we were directed to off site customer service representatives. They were very friendly however no one could confirm whether or not the office at the airport would be able to stay open past hours. After calling multiple times we were given a direct line which was always busy. The service representatives also tried contacting them as well. We were told if we prepaid (like we did) they would stay open up to 2 hours late and check for our flight delay. None of this happened, they left exactly at 10pm which resulted in us having to book at another company who stayed open later for a more expensive ride.

By far the worst experience received in renting a car. Never will I recommend them for my family, friends, clients, associates, employees !Walked in didn’t receive a smile or warm greeting from a lady that worked at the front desk. Told her I had reserved a car through Hotwire, she looked it up. She ask us for payment, told her I only had a Debit credit card. She said we only accept credit card. But if we we’re flying on a plane we can use our ATM card. Wow. That was it, she didn’t want to help, offer help, felt no sympathy. Didn’t even feel bad. Didn’t say sorry for the inconvenience. Customer service goes all long way in business. I’m sure she wouldn’t want to be treated that way, if she had somewhere to go!! 👎🏼

My Credit Card was declined because I was in two different states in one day, the gentleman at the counter let me use his personal cell phone to call the Bank of Amercia. He was very kind and understanding. After many security questions answered I was on my way with a beautiful Dodge Dart.. Thanks for all your help

Waited at the car shuttle at the LAX. All their shuttles never stopped just passed by. Called their costumer service and told us that we could go on enterprise and that they will take us there. Got on to one of the enterprise shuttles and they refused to take us because they claimed that Alamo says this every time (that We have to ride Alamo shuttle service). We called again and they told us to get on to enterprise again because that’s where our car is, once we arrived they told us we have no reservation on that name nor any minivans. We took an Uber to Alamo and got our car. I would rate them a zero if I can, their Costumer service doesn’t know what they are doing. Stick to enterprise where they actually have good service. We weren’t the only ones with this problem, there were people like us who went to enterprise and had to take an Uber to Alamo.

The flight was late, the counter was open, the vehicle I reserved was not available, was given another. The counter closed at 10:30, I switched vehicle at John Wayne, the staff went out of their way to help me. A far better experience than at Long Beach. My past experience at Long Beach has always be enjoyable. Just make sure your flight arrives on time.

Quick and convenient online and counter service. I dont like to have to pay in advance for a full tank of gas even if you dont use it all. But I guess thats what you pay for the convenience to not stop at a gas station.

Car was not clean on the inside. It had stained carpet. The exterior was scratched up and had a few dents over it. Tried to see if they would give us a different car but they said it would cost 40 bucks more a day. Sorry Alamo but at least try to make it better.

Even with a reservation, a car was not available when we arrived. I had my 85 year old parents with me and this was extremely inconvenient. We had a 20 minute wait for a car. The girl at the desk in the Long Beach Airport showed no empathy and then when we did get a car, gave us incorrect information about where the car was located. The gentleman in the lot, however, was the shining star here. He helped us locate the vehicle and then offered to bring it to us since it was across the lot. He also greeted us when we returned the car 3 days later and again was friendly and helpful.

I had reservation for 5:30pm, showed up at 4:30. Theyll told me that they didnt have a car for me but had an upgrade. Not wanting to pay for the upgrade I returned at 5:35. 5:35 and no car. They said they would clean one up and it would be out in 15 to 20 minutes...I would not recommend this location.40 minutes later and still no car.

I have started renting from Long Beach Alamo as opposed to LAX because of two reasons. The price of the rentals are so much less expensive and the ease of renting from them. I fly into LAX every month then take an Uber to Long Beach and rent from them and it still saves me about 200$. Amazing! Plus the people are nicer toon

First, the prices are good and were great prior to being gobbled up by Enterprise. Since Enterprise has taken over the deals are not good, and the prices have jumped drastically. The car selection is very limited. I hate to sound sexist but the service seems lack somewhat when the ladies are at the counter vs. the men who seem to have a higher standard of Customer Service. I would 3.5 overall when the gentlemen are present and 2.5 for the female staff members.

I rent a car about once a year. I have discounts through other companies but frequently find that Alamo is cheapest anyway. I have had particularly great service with Alamo at Long Beach Airport. They are very polite, and accommodate me if I need to return an hour late. I recieved a free upgrade because they were out of the car I had reserved. I would always recommend Alamo and especially at LGB.

Car rental agencies are just like used car dealers they try and rip you off at every opportunity and this Alamo is no exception. We asked to extend for one day due to a family emergency and was quoted $118. This was absolutely ridiculous I will now avoid Alamo.

Reserved a standard convertible and got a mini convertible which is in its own category. I was told they didn’t have anymore standard convertibles. What’s the point of making a reservation if they don’t keep them?!? I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode! That’s the last time I’ll reserve with them!

While I have had nothing but great experiences with Alamo at their Florida airport locations I cannot say the same for the Long Beach airport location. The service was slow and no cars were available upon arrival despite checking in online ahead of time. When I finally got a vehicle it was not what I had reserved but do to time constraints I did not have much choice but to take it. The price was the same but the cost of gas between the mid size I RESERVED and the Dodge Truck with a Hemi ended costing me more in gas with no offer of compensation even after bringing this to the their attention upon return. Should I ever return to Long Beach you can bet I will NOT rent from Alamo.

Rented a dodge caravan with Alamo for us 5 sisters just got off a carnival cruise drove from Los Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, NV awesome road trip best experience plenty of room for our bags and you know women how we like to pack....easy pick up and easy drop off for rental employee was very helpful and polite....It was an unforgettable road experience and reasonably priced!!

I would give Zero stars if I could. I went to the long beach airport location and they had the worst customer service. I left my shirt in the car and someone stole it and said they could not find it. They have not process for lost and found and the representative was extremely rude. You would have thought someone stole her shirt. I will never rent from that location again!

We accidentally left our car seat in the car when we dropped off our rental car and the manager called back the driver that was taking the car to be washed even though he was probably just getting to the wash. We made our flight on time and really appreciate the great service and rates provided.

Overcharged at this location. When I returned the vehicle, for some reason the agent on the lot couldnt scan my reservation. He asked for a copy of the original invoice, which was in the car. He had to go into the counter to get it taken care of. This took close to 10 minutes or more, while I was running late for my flight. When he came out he explained it was taken care of, I didnt look at my invoice until I got home...instead of charging me $34.25 per day, which was on my original invoice at inception they charged me $175.59 per day! I had to call an agent to have them resolve the situation, and now I have to wait 24-72 hours for a resolution???

Why you might want to AVOID renting from Alamo:1. When we arrived they had no cars. Reservations be damned.2. Because of their location and small lot, they have little to no inventory.3. Upon arrival we were told there were a half dozen people in front of us waiting for cars too. Everyone had a reservation.4. The only piece of advice offered me was that if you pay in advance, it guarantees a car will be waiting for you, a reservation does not.

Exceptional service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and car was ready, clean, filled with fuel and in great condition. The nice young woman who helped us asked if we wanted a bigger vehicle and we would have if we werent currently paying for our sons NICU bills (which we didnt disclose to her.) She wasnt pushy very polite and when she brought us the keys, she had gotten us a complimentary upgrade-this being the second one--as the first was a week prior because we are USA members. Another young man even offered to load our bags in which we would have happily accepted if we hadnt needed to tetris them in while feeding both kids. Thank you for excellent service. If only our hotel were quite as hospitable... avoid Fairmont Newport Beach.

Flew into Long Beach 4/10/15 with an Alamo car reservation. The flight was late (which the other car rental companies knew) and Alamo closed at 10 pm promptly. Avis and Hertz stayed open and rented a car from Avis, at a much higher price.Alamo is now trying to hit me with a penalty for cancelling the reservation.STAY AWAY FROM ALAMO -- SLEEZY

Back in June 2nd, we rented the car and before leaving the lot we had notice the little tiny scratch on the car. My husband said, they dont give us the check list and they might know that the scratch is already there. We left the lot since theres no attendant present when we took the car. When we returned the car, the attendant said that theres a scratch and we are liable to it. I said, my husband is my witness that the scratch is already there when we took the car. And she said, they are the only company who do not provide a check list for you to use before leaving the lot. She said, her 2 Managers will be calling us. Nobody called me, so I called my Car Insurance to follow-up with Alamo. Can you imagine they are charging me $700++ for just the little tiny scratched that it is already there? Now our Insurance Agent is telling us that I have to pay the additional $250 after our deductible. I am not going to pay for this $250 as this is NOT acceptable. Please DO NOT ever rent a car from ALAMO as they are not customer service oriented. What a ripped off!!

First of all, I reserved a full size, and when I checked in they tried to put me in a small SUV. Once I corrected the agent, we were in our car and on our way. Once we dropped off the car I was given a final receipt, and to my astonishment, my total was almost DOUBLE what I was quote when I reserved my car online!

Summary based on many rentals:--Alamo comes up a lot on Priceline for around $22-26/day for Economy--pickup fairly painless--drop off easier than many at Long Beach since they check you in at the car instead of making you go in the dumb building--sometimes has Prius--MUST GET GAS before returning. They often ask. This is even with a Prius with the gas tank showing full (just go to the Chevron at the entrance to the airport, 2 minutes away)

When I received my car, it was scratched up and dinged and had a few issues with body damage. I was not going to leave without it being documented. I went back in to have them do a walk around with me and the clerk had a nasty attitude with me. She made me feel like I was a major bother. I will most likely never rent from Alamo again.

I got my rental car here without any complications. Had previously rented it from ADAC in Germany and should be rented in advance. Otherwise it can happen that you will be charged for a scratch that you did not cause. Generally recommended in the States. Clean, state-of-the-art car. You can only get almost new vehicles here. Recommended!
