Great experience. It was my first time axe throwing ans I must say a great active activity and stress reliever. My cousins and I enjoyed the 90 minute session at the Lomard IL location. Its a bit small, could use a little more room in the axe throwing sections, but the staff there is awesome, patient and fun guys. I highly recommend the experience.

Fun experience... or should I say.... AXEperience! It looked like up to 6 or 7 groups can go at once and there is a cozy seating area for people to sit down.

What a GREAT place. People that run it are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We were a little nervous at first but settled in and had an absolutely fun time. Cant wait to go there again.

It was a fun date night, I wish they had food and drinks ir maybe an electronic score keeping system. Otherwise for a first time experience I really enjoyed my Husbands company...

Went for my step daughters birthday. We had a blast. Collin gave us simple instructions, and helped give us suggestions to improve our throws. He had a great sense of humor, we had a really good time. Will definitely be going back again!!

We had a Absolute BALL & our instructor Ammar, was very professional and very nice he really took the time to explain the safety of the weapons and how to use them properly. and he will come and check on you if you have any questions or didn’t feel comfortable throwing the axe at all, he took the time out to make sure that you knew what you was doing. We had a party of six for my Wife’s CoCo Birthday we took plenty of pictures and all we talked about was how much FUN that we had we are definitely planning to go back. we want to make this part of our routine and possibly turn axe throwing into a hobby because it’s a great work out you will leave there somewhat exhausted, but you will leave Stress-Free and having a wonderful experience we want to thank Mr. Ammar for everything he done to make my Wife’s Birthday one of the best Birthdays she had in a while specially dealing with this so call “Plan-Demic” that we are living in now👀 🤷🏾‍♂️😵‍💫😵‍💫🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓💯💯

This was much more fun than I thought it would be. The staff is very entertaining and enthusiastic. I had vetoed my wifes kayak tour in favor of this. She was very skeptical of how fun this was going to be. I was very much surprised to learn she genuinely had a great time.

Id never tossed an axe before but it was an amazing time! Cameron really helped my partner and I get the form down quickly and even showed us a few different games and throwing techniques to make it interesting! Hes very knowledgeable in the sport and Ill definitely be back soon so toss a few more axes!

We had alot of fun. The instructor took time to make sure we understood how to properly throw and gave us a game to play. He made sure to check in during our time to make sure we were doing well, offered different games and showed other ways to throw the axe.

Highly recommended fun time. And a great work out too. Learn all the ways you can do the axe throw. Two hands, one hand, and underhanded. Will be back

My husband and I had soooooo much fun!!!! Our instructor was so thorough and so fun! I started off awesome, progressively got worse and then came back and actually won 2 games against my 6’3” husband. Our instructor was so proud of me!

For Mother’s Day, my son and I went to Axeplosion for the second time since we had a blast the first time we went. We dragged a newcomer w us, who had some trouble getting the axes to stick. The staff was so patient and helpful, as they were the first time w us. We will definitely be back and encourage others to try this location/sport! Such a fun time! That hour FLIES by so you may want to grab more than an hour of alley time.

We went this past sunday as part as our anniversary, it was definitely something new and a fun way to alleviate stress.

Great place for a creative date night! Took my wife here with another couple for an hour of axe throwing and we had a blast! Staff member who was working there was great too. Definitely going again.

Ammar from Axeplosion was absolutely wonderful! He gave us thorough instructions on the form to throw an axe and we were hitting bullseyes after the first few minutes. A must for fun stuff to do when you are in town!

I hosted my fiances 30th birthday party here and had a great time. There were a couple of minor issues (poor lighting in the parking lot, delay in checking in) but nothing that ruined our fun. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because even though the venue was packed on a Saturday night, there was only one employee working. He did a good job of trying to attend to everyone while also signing people in simultaneously, but I think there should be more than one person there on a busy Saturday night. He made up for it by giving us some extra play time. Ill definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Once I scheduled online, signed waiver for it to be on file before I got there. Sent email to everyone I was going with so it would all be done. Got there a little early as recommended. A quick lesson to make sure we could throw and we were good to go. Not crowded due to covid restrictions. Everyone in there seemed to be having a great time. We were checked on a few times throughout our visit. Definitely cant wait to go back with us!

We had a great time. Some more autonomy from the trainer would have been good, but aside from a 5-10 min dead spot in between activities we still had a great time.

Amazing place! I put together an event for my boyfriends birthday with 10 of us. We all were able to share two ranges and throw plenty of axes in an hour. Adrian was nice and very helpful for first timers. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely be back.

I was excited to go axe throwing for my first time, but also nervous since I didn’t know what to expect. The employee that checked me in was nice and energetic. He even let me know that he could price match a coupon for me in the future. He went over safety protocols with my friend and I, including the proper way to throw and retrieve the axes. He watched us perform what we learned before leaving us, to make sure we were doing everything safely. I believe I paid for 90 minutes for my friend and I, but we only stayed for 60 minutes. Axe throwing was fun, but my friend and I felt 60 minutes was enough for us. I’m sure 90 minutes would be great for larger groups. As far as cleanliness, the facility was very clean and sanitized frequently.

The Lombard location was great! Easy booking online and Ammar was a fantastic host. Had a great time but Ammar made it much better. Thanks Ammar!

This was my first time axe throwing, but not for a few in our group. Im giving them a 3star for now. I got a Groupon for 6 people and paid $92 dollars (I think it was like 35-40% off). If I paid more than that after our experience at this specific Lombard location I would probably given them a lower rating. The boards for our bay were in really bad shape (not new, extremely chipped, bullseye markings super faded). We had 6 people in our bay with 4 axes. All the axe blades were not sharpened and chipped up like you banged on concrete. The rubber grip handle was missing from the bottom of the handles about 2 inches from the bottom on a few of the axes as well so the metal was exposed. The instructor explained some axe throwing basics to our group along with the 2 other groups and disappeared for a good portion of our 90 minute timeframe. He came by once to casually check on us and one more time to give us a 10 minute warning. According to others in our group and at other axe throwing facilities in the city, you are given an instructor for the entire time showing you how to perfect your technique or orchestrate particular games for your group. With that said, after our experience I receive a text to tip. I felt this location wasnt well managed and our experience fell short. Im not quite sure why I would have left a tip for absolutely no special service. Im hoping this review makes this location step up.

This was a fun activity to do with a group of people. It was a nice way to reunite after staying in. The place itself is great, they have a system of reservations as they keep the limit of people inside to a minimum. We arrived a little late, and I don’t think there was someone after us, so I was hoping we could stay our whole time. I did reserve for 4 people so I was assuming we would get 2 lanes which would have been fun.

So much fun, we went as a family. The staff were friendly and the training really helped. It was our first time and by the end my entire family was talking about wanting to come back again.

Awesome time throwing axes with my wife for a belated Valentines date night. The general manager was super nice and staff was very friendly. Atmosphere was great everybody having a great time.

So much fun! I took my 13 year old son and we had a blast! The staff was super friendly and encouraging. They were there to help if we were struggling. Instructor James was great working with my son.They have comfy couches and sodas/water to purchase in their lounge area, perfect if you need to take a breather.Just know ahead of time, by its very nature, it is a loud environment, but totally worth the experience!

This place is the bomb. You get a lane to your own party, theyre friendly, and the music is amazing. I love that nobody makes fun of you/jokes around the first dozen times or so that you cant throw the axe correctly.

This was my first axe throwing experience and I really did enjoy it. The only complaint that I have is that there aren’t any windows at the location for fresh air (especially during COVID). It was extremely hot inside and smelled like wood. I think if they had some fans or some type of air circulation we would have enjoyed it more.

Kind of located in the middle of no where. I got a Groupon from a friend so decided to go. It was an absolute blast! Staff was very nice and helpful. Interior has a cool decor and overall an awesome group activity. Will def be stopping by again!

My wife and I went here to do something different for date night and had a great time. Our coach, Adrian, did a great job teaching us the basics of axe throwing before letting us . I have been to other axe throwing places that squeeze parties together, but thankfully thats not the case at Axeplosion. We had a blast and will definitely be back!

SUCH a blast! Everyone I was with could not stop raving about how much fun they had. Amar, our Axe Throwing Specialist, was friendly, informative, and fun. Ill be honest - everyone in my group was horrible at axe throwing for the first 30 minutes. Amar worked with each of us individually to correct our form, and by the time our 2-hours were up, we were all trying trick shots and throwing bullseyes while dancing to the awesome playlist Amar made. Id highlight recommend this for any type of group outing.

The bathroom was disgusting. Looks as if it has never been cleaned. That was what I experienced before even axe throwing. Nothing said sanitized about this place.

Hysterical and fun!! Need some improvements ... one guy Running the whole place but luckily he was pretty efficient and our group was early. We had a blast. I think it isnt very safe.One station didnt have a wall behind it which seems so unsafe. But it passed city ordinance. It really takes skill and we had a blast learning. The boards arent very good quality with knots that, if you hit them, are really hard and deflect the axe. But it was just for fun. So who cares. And also I was really not that good. The guy, the only employee there came back around 30 minutes before we were done and helped us get better. We needed him earlier. The session is 90 minutes! Still we had a blast and will do it again. Definitely stay behind the lines. You CAN get hurt.

First time tonight!!! The guys were super friendly & helpful. The coach gave us a 5 min lesson. Then he watched each of us throw. If we needed help or a few tips, he was willing to help. This was so much fun. We are definitely going against.

My family and I had a great time! I do think they could have it look a little more clean and organized...Perhaps print out the prices for the drinks instead of hand written some details like this will improve the environment. Also, they could offer merchandise like shirts etc and offer to take photos of the groups. I can imagine creative ways for marketing.

This was an excellent experience and a great way to celebrate my wifes birthday. It is a ton of fun and the time flies by. The staff is excellent and the coaches do a great job of helping you improve throughout your session. Book at least 1.5 hr for your first visit. Time flies by!When I booked, I didnt see the policy for large groups so I booked two ranges for a total of 10 people (this should have been booked as a 2 hr event). The manager let me keep my reservation and when we arrived he even shuffled reservations around so that our group was next to each other and not split up. Trust me though, if you have a group, book the event. You will want all 2 hours. We only booked for an hour and everyone agreed that it went by really quick and we would have gladly kept throwing for another 30 min to an hour.Thanks Axeplosion! Well be back.

We went here for a birthday party and had a blast. A little pricey but we had 2 hours of fun with different games they teach you. The staff was helpful and energetic.. Plus you can B.Y.O.B.

It was a fun place. I went there with my coworkers and had fun. Its good for small groups or team building. They give you proper instructions about how to throw the axe properly. They come in between to ask if everything is going fine. Nice people. You have to sign a waiver before going in. Overall a fun evening with fun people.

This place was AMAZING, I would write in bigger letters but I cant. Adrian was an awesome coach and the owner was a great guy. The lounge was very spacious and it is BYOB, which we all know is a huge plus. The ONLY thing we would suggest as a change is to have some sort of cable package for the lounge area for people relaxing. This place deserves as many stars as possible. Please let us know when there is a league here.

A lot of fun. Place could be a little larger so that spectators could sit and watch from behind the throwers without constantly being in the way. Other than that suggestion, we had a great experience.

Horrible experience with this company. When I booked back in Dec they told me that everyone can use the living social deal. Last week when I called to confirm they said that was incorrect and that only one per lane could be used. They told me it stated that on the deal which it clearly did not. Three days before our reservation they cancelled our booking due to overbooking!! I recommend you use a different company. They clearly cant be trusted. I would give zero stars if I could.

The experience, or should I say axeperience, is a wonderful deviation to the typical date night affair. The staff is friendly and safety oriented but are not smothering, a rare combo. The different game styles you can play is near endless, darts, battle shots, horse, etc but with axes. Overall this is a fun way and place to spend time with friends and loved ones.

This was a super fun! My husband and I got a quick lesson and then competed against each other. We were there early in the day on a weekday so it wasnt crowded. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had lots of fun!
