A friend of mine wanted to come here for a trial class so I accompanied him.Even though I train at another local area gym, the coach who teaching that night, Mike, was super friendly and welcoming.The mats were very clean, all the students were observing good hygiene in terms of wearing flip flops while not on the mats and before even setting foot onto the mats they have you step into a foot bath to sterilize your feet.Mike was great about going around and giving every set of students his time to make sure they were getting the techniques being taught and clearing up any errors he observed.Ill definitely be back to drop in on the leg lock classes they have on Saturdays and for their open mats on Sundays.Edit: Jan 2021 - So I ended up switching gyms to come here around the time I posted this originally (initial review was in the winter of 2019) and after coming here for around two years, albeit very inconsistently for a variety of reasons, including covid over the past year, I have to say Omar might be the most honest person in the world of martial arts when it comes to billing/business. No scum bag moves like contracts that are impossible to get out of, you can go no contract at all, no high pressure sales tactics, no required uniforms, you can wear whatever you want, you can drop in for free, etc.

It the short time that 10th Planet Lombard has been around, Omar has made it one of the best places to learn Jiu Jitsu in the Chicago area. Omar is super knowledgeable and a great teacher and everyone who trains there makes it really fun to be there.

Love, love, love training here! The instructors are amazing and so are the people that train here. They have classes for every level, from kids, new to jiu jitsu adults, and advanced training. It also helps that everyone on the team is extremely supportive and want you to love jiu jitsu just as much as they do.

Becoming a member of 10th Planet Lombard was a GREAT decision! My 9 year old son and I joined the 10th Planet Lombard family last year. We love everything about this place! Great attitude and all around atmosphere. Omar, Mike, and the other instructors are incredible. The instructors and students are welcoming and very supportive. 10th Planet Lombard teaches the curriculum directly from HQ, which are the official 10th Planet Warmups.I seriously recommend 10th Planet Lombard to anyone looking to begin their Jiu Jitsu journey or anyone who has trained for many years and want to improve their Jiu Jitsu game.
