The technicians, Bryan & Ben, were professional, obviously highly competent, pleasant and courteous. They went about their job with care and attention to detail, responding to any questions we had, and were always ready to explain how and why they were doing specific tasks to complete the job. At the end of the job, which lasted about a day and a half, they were careful to clean up and leave the area completely clean. All in all - A really great job!!

We called last night about 8:00 pm because our air conditioner went out and it was 85 degrees indoors. Eli called back right away and said he’d come by after finishing up on the service call he was on. He came to our house around 9:00, replaced a part and stayed to make sure the unit was working properly. He was done by 9:45 and our air is working great!

I took a proactive approach to replace my HVAC system at my house. I spent a few months researching the different brands, which size would be the best for my size home, and the used terminology. Once I found the HVAC system that fit my needs, I started looking for a dealer/installer. I interviewed a few, look at the task at hand, had them provide quotes, and explain why that was the best method. Out of all the dealers I had come in, Elkhorn was by far the best. After they did the installation, hands down, they were THE BEST. Im a stickler for details, and the crew that installed it (Bryan, Cal, Rick, and Aaron) were fantastic. I have never seen a crew work so hard and do it right. Elkhorn was referred to us by another satisfied client. We solicited two other quotes for a new gas furnace. The prices and quality of the equipment varied significantly from one contractor to another. We scrutinized them carefully and decided that Elkhorn seemed to offer the best value. That was a great decision. Wee had a wonderful experience with installation team. They arrived on time and went to work immediately to remove and replace our gas furnace. They wore face coverings the entire time in our home. The installers put down protective floor coverings and when they left not a sign of their presence was to be found. Ben and Bryan were very considerate and courteous in every respect. They performed additional services at no extra cost without complaint and stayed until the job was complete. Then at completion they reviewed the operation and maintenance of the new equipment. Our experience could not have been better.

Our air conditioning failed Saturday afternoon in hundred-degree weather. I requested a service call knowing it would be expensive. Eli, the technician, talked me through the trouble (a plugged drain pipe), and I realized I could repair it myself. Eli was most gracious in walking me through the repair, step-by-step, even though it meant no revenue for the company. This is customer service at its best.

My furnace was 23 years old and they tried to fix it. Unfortunately, the circuit board broke when they were working on it. Home Furnace would not turn on the night before -We called in the morning, ( first company we called please shop local) got a time window and by 3pm we had heat! Had to have circuit board replaced. I had an igniter go out on my furnace over the weekend. So I called Elkhorn based on a referral. I expected on a Sunday afternoon to get an answering service, but instead the phone was answered by the friendliest receptionist. After I explained the problem, she asked if I needed someone to come out immediately - again I was surprised that I wouldnt have to wait a few days. Since the weather was warm I could wait. She gave me a time window for Monday when the service technician would be over.The scheduling assistant called us on Monday to let us know the technician could be early if that was convenient for us, otherwise the original timeframe worked. Early was fine so when the technician showed up, he was clean cut, professional, and courteous (he noticed we have hardwood floors so he put on booties over his shoes so as to not scratch the floors).After confirming my diagnosis, he showed me the part that had worn out, replaced it and then ran a full system diagnosis. He explained that with a furnace our age there could be future problems to keep an eye out for.He was in and out in less than an hour and the price was fair. It was obvious that even as a tech, he really cared about doing his work right and providing value to Elkhorns customers, which from an hourly employee these days is tough to find.I can highly recommend Elkhorn for their professionalism, caring and competent staff, and fair pricing.

We initially chose Elkhorn because they were a Trane dealer, and decided to use them after reading reviews and talking to them. It was a big job, lots of re-routing old pipes and adding new ones. They were very thorough before installation - the sales guy came to our house twice to make sure the measurements were right. The install took 3 full days and the crew did a great job ensuring our floors and surrounding areas were not damaged. They were friendly, on time, and explained everything at the beginning and end of each day. We could tell these guys took pride in their work and went the extra mile to make sure everything worked, looked good, and would hold up for many many years. Would highly recommend Elkhorn!

We asked Elkhorn to bid on a large, complex job in our 100 year old home. We had a lovely first visit with them but after another visit, and numerous emails to follow up, they finally agreed to show us the estimate. The estimate did not reflect the project we actually intended to do, and would have to be totally redone. This after seven weeks had elapsed from the first meeting. With all confidence lost, we asked them not to redo the estimate.Stupidly we did not look for other contractors as they came highly recommended. Our lesson in this is to read the reviews closely. Any vendor is only as good as their last job. A recommendation from a neighbor that is dated is not as good as an immediate review.Good luck to all.

I used Elkhorn twice previously and had good service. They charged my wife $90 for a furnace stuck at 68 set to 72 when it suddenly got back up to temperature - so they did nothing. My wife felt that this was odd and asked about whether it was the thermostat. She was treated condescendingly. 2 days later, same issue, Elkhorn REFUSED to waive the trip charge even though they were paid to do nothing, and fixed nothing the first time. Customer service was also RUDE to my wife. We had ANOTHER HVAC company come and guess what the problem was - if you guessed the battery in the thermostat - WHICH MY WIFE SUGGESTED - youd be right. No one cared, no one called, 3 different rude people, ELKHORN we are DONE with you. Dont respond to this, you had THREE opportunities to make this right - and you failed. Bye.

I needed a new AC unit. Other companies really tried to upsell me with big units that were way too much for my 1300 sq ft house. Justin acknowledged that right away and assessed exactly what I needed. I also had to have a new furnace, mine was 22 years old and wouldnt be able to accommodate a new AC unit. Installation went smoothly and on time however, the AC unit was very loud and unacceptable. Elkhorn sent out their installation expert guy and to my relief, he said it was installed correctly but was possibly damaged in transit even though it was brand new, and needed to be replaced. They came out the following morning and got the job done to my complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend Elkhorn Heating & Air! Great job.

The service was good! I get the bill and to get some copper line run and a float valve replaced it cost me over $600. I found the float valve online and it as a $30 part that took the tech a grand total of 15 min to install they charged me over $200 and when i called and complained they asked if I like my car insurance premiums going up. I said no and she replied either do we. So it sounds like they pass on their operating costs on to the consumer. Bummer they have done a good job in the past but they lost my business and anyone who asks me about them.

Had issue with 8.5 yr old Trane thermostat not controlling 8.5 yr old Trane furnace. Have thermostat set at 68 degrees and thermostat inside temp display said it was currently only 62 degrees in the house, so it would take 6-10 hours for temperature to rise to the 68 set point temperature, the furnace running the entire time. This has been an issue since the furnace was installed and the installation company (another Trane dealer) checked the system a few times and could find no problem. We knew the house temp was much warmer than the thermostat inside temp was displaying, so today I used a precision meat thermometer to check the temperature at the thermostat and it read 78 degrees in the house, not the 62 degrees as shown on the thermostat inside temp display. I thought maybe we had a faulty thermostat and decided to contact Elkhorn. I spoke to Kimberly and she arranged for a technician to arrive 2 hours later. After explaining the issue to the technician, Mike, he diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. The problem all along has been the cavity in the wall behind where the thermostat is mounted has a cold draft coming up between the studs and the hole in the wall behind the thermostat mounting plate (for the thermostat wiring to come thru) was allowing the cold air to constantly contact the thermostat temperature sensor, telling the thermostat set point sensor to keep the furnace running. Mike placed insulation in the wall cavity and also covered the opening behind the mounting plate with insulation tape to prevent any cavity air from affecting the thermostat temperature sensing bulb. Within 10 minutes, the thermostat inside temp reading rose to 78 degrees, matching Mikes hand held temperature gauge that he uses to compare actual readings. So the problem was resolved very quickly and efficiently. Elkhorn has certainly gained our trust for future HVAC annual maintenance and any other HVAC needs. Thanks again to Kimberly and Mike for the quick response, diagnosis, and professional service!

Outstanding pricing and quick installation on a new heating and AC system. Installation of new equipment was clean and very professional looking. Justin in sales did an excellent job of listening to my concerns with the old system and proposing a new system to improve heating and cooling comfort in my home. HVAC technicians Steve and Ernesto did a wonderful job of system installation and checkout. I could not have asked for a better experience.

I think they way over charged to install a 5-10 dollar part which took maybe 10 mins to install. They did not break down the bill separately by part cost and labor cost. Plus we paid diagnostic/trip charge on top of that. Usually if you have the work done that charge is waived. No I will not use them again. I feel they took advantage of us. When I called to complain oh that is the way we do business.Not a honest company in my opinion. When I found out that the part only cost $5 I felt very ripped off. They say they dont work off of commission but who makes $300 for 10 minutes of work. BE AWARE OF WHAT THE COST OF THE REPLACEMENT PART IS BEFORE YOU AGREE TO LET THEM DO THE WORK. MAYBE then you may get a fairer repair charge. They take advantage of customers. No fair pricing here. You pay the cost of them being in business(to get to your home) then get ripped off too by their repair charges. Bottom line they do not care about their customers.

The Elkhorn team from sales to installation and followup were excellent. Every one was friendly and courteous and knew professionally what to do to meet our needs. We have never had both heating and air conditioning combo and had many questions on the system that we ended up having installed. This was the only company who I got estimates from that had a good plan to address the poorly done return air for my furnace. The humidifier on our furnace was not working. Jesus from Elkhorn determined that the control unit was not wired properly in about 5 minutes. He rewired the unit and gave me guidance on how to properly utilize the humidifier. He was very polite and courteous!

Elkhorn HVAC NinjasWhen we made the decision to update our Heat/Air system after 30 years in our home (and the system was in place when we moved in) we braced ourselves for what we imagined would be a big mess and a lot of disruption. Well, Gary and the team at Elkhorn Heating and Air Conditioning proved us wrong.The team members were on time, covered their shoes and worked together quickly and efficiently. And Ladies, if you’ve ever been the one waiting at home for the service call, you know there are some technicians who made you feel like calling a friend to come and sit with you in the house. Well, there’s no “creep-squad” here! Elkhorn technicians are polite, positive and professional. They moved a huge 30-plus year old, box furnace, up the stairs, over and around the kitchen counter without so much as a bump, scrape or sound. We even found that the outlets they’d used had be upgraded and a light fixture was added to better illuminate the furnace area.In the end, we looked around and the front and back yards were spotless, the basement was spotless, and there was this amazing new TRANE heating and air conditioning system, up and running…just as though no one had ever been here…Total Elkhorn Ninja move!!We will be using Elkhorn for our heating, air conditioning and electrical needs from now on!

I highly recommend Elkhorn, my house has never been so comfortable. They were the only company that had a solution to make my 2nd floor livable. All of the employees were polite and left my house clean.

I love my new Trane system. Elkhorn listened to all the things that I hated about my old AC, mostly that my upstairs was always hot. The great technicians worked their magic and and now our bedrooms are the perfect temperature. They provided everything I needed for the Xcel Energy rebate.

Poor customer service. Spoke with Kimberly about getting a quote set up for air conditioning install and the call dropped off. I figured wed gotten disconnected, so I called back. Kimberly answered again and I said, Hi there, I believe we got disconnected! Then again, immediately, another CLICK. Called a third time, another person answered and he were perfectly amiable. Bad impression of the business if thats how they handle new customers.

We have a 2 story home on a basement. AC was 18 years old and would not cool the upstairs as very little air came out of the upstairs vents. The upstairs was frequently 7 to 8 degrees hotter in the summer than the down. Gary came and made numerous pressure measurements of the system, inspected the ductwork and recommended an AC unit smaller than the one in place. His team arrived on time and were very professional. The work was done in one day which was a bit sooner than forecast. Our home has never been this comfortable before. The temperature is the same on both levels summer and winter and our utility bills actually dropped a little. We are extremely pleased with the work done by Elkhorn and highly recommend them to anyone needing heat and air work done.

They installed my air conditioning and furnace and couldn’t have been more professional. From the estimate, to guiding me to the right system and through installation. Super impressed with this company.

My experience with Elkhorn was great. Two gentlemen came out the day after I called in order to evaluate our ductwork problem and provide an estimate for repairs. I had two other estimates from different companies and they all were within $100 of each other. Elkhorn was the only one that didn’t try to push a maintenance program on me to get a discount on the repairs. That was the differentiator that nudged me in Elkhorn’s direction.We had approximately 30 feet of ductwork that had fallen to the ground in a crawlspace. The ductwork had separated at many of the seems and, given the tight access, it would have been a tough job to rebuild.Ernesto and Vicente arrived at the schedule date and time to do the repairs. They were friendly as well as thorough and professional and protected any areas of our house that might have been damaged while they worked. They finished in 3 hours the job that I thought would take at least 5 hours to do. Because the area was hard to get to, Ernesto took detailed photos of all their work and explained everything they had done.I couldn’t have expected a better outcome and I recommend Elkhorn without hesitation.

Elkhorn was amazing!!! The know what they are doing, are professional and their follow-through was the best Ive experienced in years. I had a problem with Xcel and them processing my rebate. They actually reached out to their contact with Xcel to help me and get the issue resolved. Rare customer service and professionalism. I highly recommend them. I had a tankless water heater, furnace and central air installed.

We had an intermittent issue with our furnace air cleaner shutting down the HVAC system. The company that did the installation couldnt be bothered to diagnosis the problem. Kimberly at Elkhorn was able to diagnosis it over the phone and narrow the problem down to a few possibilities. Joe was the technician that came to our house. He was able to resolve the problem and replace the part. Great to work with a company that cares about helping their customers!

Spending money to replace an entire HVAC system is never fun, but Elkhorn made it such a great experience. From the initial visit with Justin to the final walk-thru with the installation team, everything was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend Elkhorn for any HVAC work!

Good place for all your heating and ac needs

Replacing our water heater was going to be really expensive. Kimberly and Gary able to find a better option with tankless water heater for even less than the what it would cost to replace our tank. Crew was really pleasant and did a fantastic job getting everything up to code. Love these guys!
