Lincoln Elks Golf Club was designed by Tom Bendelow in 1904. It is located in Lincoln, IL. Lincoln is the only town in the United States that was named for Abraham Lincoln before he became president.My road trip from Champaign to Lincoln was quite educational because I could easily spot the NOAA weather station along the IL 10 road. The WSR-88D Doppler radar stood out as it resembled a large soccer ball. For golfers, it may appear like a giant golf ball sitting on a tall tee.Regarding the golf course itself, Tom Bendelow never disappoints me. The first 6 holes are flat, easy, and great for warming up. Holes from 7 to 10 become quite interesting. Hole #11, #14, and #17 are awesome. I made a birdie on #11.Alabama is famous for Robert Trent Jones golf trail. Indiana is famous for Pete Dye golf trail. I think Illinois should market Tom Bendelow trail to golfers.

This place is incredible. The prices are low and the drinks are stiff. Bartender, although surly at some points only adds to the charm. If you have the need to tipple, head here for a try.

Great little old course in historic Lincoln Illinois. My wife played it with her friends and they really enjoyed their afternoon.

Good layout, good course condition and good hospitality.

Our traveling retirement group went here twice last year and we all loved it. The staff is very friendly and the course is a mix of fun and challenging holes. Love the scenery. Would highly recommend this course.

Challenging layout. Course was dry when I last played it (rain would really help the greens). Intend to play again when I get the time. Makes you use all the clubs in your bag. Greens fast, but readable. Course makes you think.

Well worth the price. Very well kept course, the greenkeeper knows what he is doing. If you havent played here, give it a go, you will not be disappointed.

Well maintained. Greens were a little fast but nice. Beautiful fall day everyone needs to get out and enjoy the day.

Nice place for a quiet meal and good food and liquid refreshments

My granddad used to play there all the time until he died in 2016. I played there once and it’s very nice and pretty course I have ever golfed. Hopefully I could play there again sometime soon with my uncles or cousins.

Pleasant experience. Food was good. Waitress was stretch to thin, she had to work two rooms, and one suffered for not enough help. None the less we will be back.

Very good comfort food at a very reasonable price. I had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. Very, very good.
