They are great. Very personable caring absolutely concerned about safety in following CDC guidelines during this pandemic. Helpful and educating homeowner about the new heating system that I bought with my new home. I bought a home with base board heaters.

Out same day that I called. Explained issue and had it repaired within an hour of diagnosis. Definitely recommend.

I called him during a cold winter day.. and he said he would come look at my furnace i waited almost all day than he finally shows up. In a hurried manner asked my to show him the unit. we go to the basement, checks the fuse than the electric, turns the furnace on and than off. while i watching him i can see he really is not TRYING to fixing the problem. he finally tells me i need a new unit and he can order me one. i was like you didnt even try fixing it he say look i have not ate and its late and this is my diagnosis. he comes back with a service fee of $150 plus 100 dollars for his work.. $250.00 dollars for less than 10 minutes. he agreed to come late and told he would come and fix the unit. when he came he was hurried and hungry. i didnt pay him the 250, but agreed on 150 dollars.. i called another person late at night he understood Bryant furnace system and told me to check the line that releases the water from the units it might be clogged and sure enough it was i did the work myself this man walked me through it and it works just fine.. WINSLOW HEATING ONLY CAME TO GET A SERVICE FEE LATE AND AT NIGHT AND NOT HAVE THE INTENTION OF FIXING MY UNIT.. SHAMEFUL

Last Thursday the carbon monoxide detector in my home alerted me to the presence of carbon monoxide. After the fire department and DTE visited, it was determined that it was coming from my (admittedly ancient) boiler. The next day, I was able to have three different boiler companies come out to give me a quote, Winslow being one of them. I was impressed by how thorough and detailed Justins quote was, the various options he presented to me, and how well he answered all my questions.I ended up going with Winslow and they started demolition on my old EXTREMELY heavy boiler the very next day. Justin and James came back on Monday to complete my installation and get my heat back on. They did a fantastic job, continually offered to answer any questions, explained how my new boiler worked, and honestly cleaned up their work area to the point that its cleaner than it was before! I am very satisfied with the services I receives from Winslow and I know Ill be contacting them in future winters to receive my annual boiler inspection and clean out.

After calling multiple companies who would not work on steam boilers, I finally found Winslow, and was thrilled to find that they not only work on them, but specialize in their service and repair. They were out less than an hour and a half after our call and had my heat running within an hour. They also made some recommendations for improvements and keeping my boiler lasting for a long time, things that never had been mentioned by previous companies or occurred to me in living in this house for years! Extremely trustworthy & knowledgeable! Jim adjusted his planned schedule when he found out that the water heater that powers my radiant floor heating system AND domestic hot water system had failed. Replaced my water heater promptly with a more appropriately sized unit for my needs.

They’ve serviced my apartment a few times. In the summer I had no cool air coming out of my AC. They did a super deep clean on it, replaced filters, and even cleaned up their own mess and made it look like they never came. Then my heat wasn’t having air flow to my other rooms and they came and fixed that too in no time. Def recommend, the crew is super nice and knowledgeable!

Took advantage of their deal for the furnace tune-up. Justin came out and did a very thorough inspection of my equipment. Ultimately he found a rather large breach in a section of my furnace that could cause a safety hazard. Next day Justin was back installing a new furnace and AC at a very reasonable price. Good local guys. They replaced a furnace in our new home about 2 years ago and their total installation price came several hundred dollars under what we would have to pay using our home warrantys service. I dont know if that says more good for Winslow or bad for home warranties! Ill say a little of both.We had an issue with the furnace about one year later and they were at our house the same evening after hours and did not leave until it was up and running as designed.I would recommend to anyone.

Winslow did a pretty big boiler job for me a year ago, called again to get a gas job done he said in a couple days he could come by. Called again to schedule a time and they said call someone else they are 4-6 weeks out. Just say you don’t want to do the job. It’s So hard to find good reliable workers, thanks for nothing.

Pros - Very knowledgable, experienced, very fast initial response timeCons -I work in the industry, and they do NOT charge wholesale prices; they charge 3x the retail cost.They came out to my house 3 times to fix my boiler. Each time, they got it working for approx. 2 hours, then took a day or 2 to come out again and repeat the process... I ended up calling a different company for a 4th visit. They fixed the boiler in 1 visit.No initial quote was provided. In the end, the repair cost for my boiler from 1975 was nearly $1,000. A new boiler can cost $2000-2500. If I had received an initial quote, I would have just bought a new boiler.

My mom paid almost 2500 bucks to get her boiler working right after an auto feed was put on. It took then several trips back out cause it still wasnt working right. After all the money spent the boiler isnt working again. My mom called to tell them it hasnt even been a yr and its not working again....they told her to come check it would be 125 an hr. Just recently had an appointment and the guy was the most disrespectful person out there...First he came in with mudy boots all over my nice carpet. And he didnt even introduce him self until i had ti ask what his name was. I only had a small problem and he wasnt even able to fix it. He proceeded to charge me an outrageous price for just comming out... I had my uncle come out the next day and fixed my issue within 15 minutes... Worst experince ever

The Pros: Winslow is knowledgeable, experienced and completes their work in a timely manner.The Cons: They are also pretty bad price gougers. The company charges a significantly higher labor rate than a majority of their competitors and does not typically provide estimates. In my case, I did ask for an initial estimate and never received one. Due to the timeliness of the needed job, the work had to move forward regardless. I believe this is part of the reason of the price gouging. The companys labor charges are what they are and they are entitled to charge what they would like. However, the major issue I have with their cost structure is that they completely price gouge on parts. In our case, we were charged literally close to 3X the retail price for common parts. When asked about the part cost, the company claims they are a wholesaler and retailer of parts. Understand that many companies of course add a premium to the customer for their part costs, but usually it is a 10-20%, maybe a 30% mark up of the retail price, not a 300% mark up! And if they are indeed a wholesaler than the mark up is even larger. Moreover, when we inquired about the excess in labor hours, we were told that the company charged us 1/2 an hour labor for sourcing the part. So not only were we charged 300% of the retail cost for the part, we were charged an additional $62.50 (1/2 of $125.00 labor hour = $62.50) just to source common parts they either had at their shop or easily attainable at a local HVAC store. Lastly, after all of the above excessive cost charged, the company charged a $20.00 vehicle expense each time they came to the job (2x). When asked about this charge, the company answered by saying that this cost is to support gas coming to the job, wear and tear on their van, etc. Out of 20 years in the property management business, I have never seen such a charge that is coupled with a large hourly labor cost, a 300% mark up on common parts and additional labor cost for sourcing common parts they either had in their shop or easily accessible at a local HVAC store. If you wanted to make a case for mileage, the job was less than 10 miles away from their office. When asked about the overall excessive cost/invoice, particularly with the part cost, we were told that they were booked solid and that we can call someone else next time.Summary: Winslow is knowledgeable and experienced. However, if you like being excessively charged, paying 300% of the retail cost for parts and literally making their note payment on their vans than utilize this company. Otherwise, I would seek a better option. Instead of becoming a loyal vendor to our company they have become part of the price gouging never-again list.

They were no shows and then had a bunch of lame excuses. Use them if you dont mind wasting a whole day of your life.

2 thumbs up:1st) James dropped off a part I needed for my AC/Unit,after Everyone else was Closed for the day (around 6:30pm). Its 85(+) degree out and charged me very reasonable price. (2nd) he stuck around to make sure,I knew,what I was doing,(I googled/utubed it) and I needed some help. He did not charge me extra. (3rd). He got me through the night with Air and came by the very next day and fixed it the Professional way,again the price was reasonable,I did call around (sorry,James). (4th) He brought with him an apprentice,he explained to me,how he tries to find young people,that are going to school ex:HFCC,but,need the Field Experience,so he tries to share his knowledge in exchange for pay and maybe help him occasionally, take down the 20 ft ladder off the top of the truck,I think thats a Fair deal.
