First time visitor. I stopped in because front turn signal light was out and hard to get at so Rich said let me take a look. He took the car in the shop and pulled it back around in 10 minutes fixed! The charge was $5.00 for the bulb and I asked him if I could pay him for his time or buy him a coffee and he said absolutely not! Good old fashioned customer service! Also, I was visiting with a gentleman that was also there and he said he had been taking his cars to Rouse’s for 30 years! Tough to find that kind of customer loyalty today but after meeting Rich today I can understand why!

Rich and Jim are two of the hardest working people I know. I have been going there for 40 years and they are always looking out for my best interests. I trust them and there opinions and I have never been disappointed. They deliver excellent quality at a fair and reasonable price.When I go there, I am confident that I will receive an excellent end result from a small business that has high integrity. They are simply the best!

They installed a hitch and light kit to my new car. They did an excellent job and considerably less than the dealer price.

Rich quoted me a good price on the phone. The install didnt goes as planned (not his fault, and it happens sometimes). Rich ended up taking a lot more time than he quoted, but he still changed me the same price! Will use them again in a heart beat.

Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with Rouses Auto Repair.I called in for a quote to install a hitch on my Honda Civic. I was given a quote, told that all the items are in stock. We scheduled a day for me to drop off the car early in the morning (7:00 am).1. Although the door was open, there was no-one at the front desk. I had to wait 15 minutes in the lobby before anyone talked to me.2. The person who talked to me over the phone earlier gave me a quote for an incorrect car model. He thought I was calling about a Honda CRV.3. They did not have a hitch for Civic in stock, so they asked me to reschedule and asked to expect a call back with a new quote. I never received a follow-up call from them.4. When I was leaving, I found that my car, which was parked in their lot, was boxed in by one of their employees. I had to wait another 10 minutes or so just to be able to leave.One positive aspect of this encounter was that the person I talked to at the front desk was eager to discuss the structural differences between the 2 and 1.25 hitches. He seemed passionate and knowledgeable about the tech, but clearly lacking in organization skills.

So Ive recently moved to the area. I was not familiar with any local auto shops. So I am beyond fortunate to have found this one. Not only were they honest about my SUV and the work needing to be repaired, but they went above and beyond with borrowing me a rental car . I feel that there prices are fair and their customer service is amazing. I will definitely go back to this place.

Very nice and engaging. I couldnt figure out what was wrong and so they put it on the lift and checked everything. Since we couldnt pin point what it was rich didnt charge me anything for the check which normally you would have to pay elsewhere. It was there for a few hours. Will go back because of honesty and integrity

Dont trust a lot of places. Being a female with an older vehicle, I tend to get a lot who try to rip me off. Had my breaks done and now tune up. So far so good.

I had been with the same mechanic for the last 12 years that Ive lived in Grayslake untilI found this place. I bought a car from a friend who used to take it to Rouses so I figured Id give them a shot being that they took care of her car for so long and her familys cars for so long. So this is what I found out. Hands down they were courteous, friendly, did an excellent job, they quoted me a time and they were done by the time that they quoted me. They are straight shooters over there! Plus the bonus was the price was right! So thanks Richie and Jim for being so helpful Uganda customer for life!

The breathalyzer that was installed in my car caused a communication error and it made me not be able to turn off my car. This was caused by the breathalyzer that Rouses had installed my car was then taken to a Chevy dealership where no one found anything wrong because he took out the breathalyzer so they cannot troubleshoot the issue.so I came to pick up my car after I got the breathalyzer installed so I can Have it looked at while the breathalyzer is installed. I look inside my car the next day and theres dirty fingerprints all over and in my brand new 2017 Chevy Cruz I am only averaging 10 miles per gallon.they were trying to aggressively drive my car to see what the issue was. There are also dirty oil fingerprints all over the inside of my car from the door to the steering well to my radio. He then tried to get me to pay money for gas he had to put in my car but I left him with a quarter tank in my car averages 40 miles per gallon.he never found out what the issue was and then expected me to give him money for the gas He put my car form aggressively driving I would never recommend anyone to go there.

I cant recommend this shop enough. After I had engine trouble, Rich went far out of his way to find discounted parts, to allow me to bring the car in and out of the shop between needed repairs, and to keep me informed every step of the way. Above and beyond in every possible respect!
