We were looking at a car to buy and brought it to Auto Lab to be inspected. The car cost $8000.The guys at Auto Lab found over $3000 in repairs that were needed. Plus we discovered that someone turned off all of the warning lights about the problems.Two lessons: 1) Be very sceptical of a used car lot. 2) Always take your potential purchase to Auto Lab for an inspection before buying.

We had a broken axle. Car sounded like a 50 year old Maytag. They diagnosed the problem the day we brought it in and they had it repaired the next day. Great job, fair price and nice guys. What more can you ask for.

Such a great experience from start to finish at Auto Lab. Had our vehicle towed after hours and was easy to drop keys in drop box. Customer service was AMAZING!! Communication with all employees was great. Good breakdown of services to understand where every dollar was going. My check engine light came on, and they were able to get me in the very next morning. I appreciated their honesty about my car. While the markup on the air filter gets me every time... he honored a coupon that emailed to me that I no longer had. Additionally, they saved me money upfront by not just guessing what was wrong but having me wait until it’s confirmed. A happy customer yet again!

Auto Lab stands behind their work! They replaced a part on my vehicle in October of 2019. In April 2020, I noticed leakage around the part that was replaced. It turns out the part was defective. Auto Lab said it was under warranty for part and labor. Nice to see a shop/owners who stand by their work. This is not always the case. I appreciate their professionalism and trustworthiness. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! Kevin was quick and helpful. I was moving down to Nashville when my wheel bearing started to make my car shake. I took an exit off of Rt. 94 and Auto Lab was the nearest mechanic. I was in a time crunch and Kevin was able to get me sorted out with a new wheel bearing within a couple hours. Happy to report that the remainder of my trip was smooth as butter.

We have all of our maintenance, repairs and purchase our new tires from them. We have had nothing but great customer service and very very fair pricing. I brought my car in for the first time to Auto Lab. It was a pleasure to do business with them. The Auto Lab crew was great! I needed the A/C compressor and condenser replaced. Heather the receptionist was very friendly and professional. The day they started working on my car Heather told me that they had to order the parts. I was thinking days until it would be completed. I asked and she said the same day. Noel worked on my car and did a great job. What surprised me was that Noel replaced missing hardware. In the past I had work done at a dealership and they forgot the hardware. It WAS NOT in Libertyville. Thank you Noel! In the future I will definitely come back for repairs.

I have been using Auto Lab for all of my car services for the last couple years. Theyve always been fair and the work has been great. I really loved my experience at Auto Lab, they were on top of my car care, as well as making sure I was taken care of! My car is as good as new now and next time I need my car checked on and I’m in town, I will be going to them! They wrote me a super sweet note, thanking me for using their establishment and had offered me a ride to anywhere I needed to go while I was waiting. They gave me quality car service, while also taking the time to make a personal connection.

I’ve been dealing Kevin and Sherman for a number of years with a couple cars. (We keep our cars for 12+ years). The work is always scheduled and performed on time and is kept very clean. Their best attribute is the ability to diagnosed problems accurately. The computer codes only give a region of the problem. The mechanic is the one who finds the specific one. My best example was on my Infiniti, the idle was really low and would occasionally stall. It happened after the battery went dead while out of town and it was replaced locally. A couple of mechanics were certain it was an electrical control problem. Kevin was able to find a simple rubber boot that was torn (probably when the battery was removed) that affected the air intake. Ran like new after that.

We had just taken my qx56 to the local dealership for problems with my truck randomly not starting. We replaced the battery prior to the dealership visit. They had my truck for over 2 weeks only to tell us that they couldn’t reproduce the problem. I had explained that it happened intermittently but often. They told me I needed a new battery (um we literally just installed that 1 week prior to bringing it in) and they changed out the battery cable. They tried to charge us over $500 for that due to “diagnostic fees”. My husband raised hell and the cut the fees to $250...to replace battery cables. Anyway we found AutoLab. Brought my truck in on Thursday morning, diagnosed by Thursday afternoon, fixed and back in our possession by Friday night. Unbelievable...truly. It was the starter which incidentally is what we told the local infinity dealership we thought it was. So impressed by Autolabs, service level, communication and efficiency. Thanks team! We will be back!

Best repair shop Ive ever been to and I thought the shop where I used to live was excellent. They went above and beyond any shop Ive been to. More professional than a dealership! Detailed receipt showing exactly what was done, this place is all class. My truck runs great now and even an issue I didnt mention was fixed so they must have done a few extra things. Loaner cars available helps big time b/c I have no one to drive me to work. Will be recommending Auto Lab to all my friends!

Auto Lab Libertyville has done a great job for me! I took my car to the dealer I bought it from, I had been a loyal client for many years, the dealer told me it would cost over $6,000 to repair my car, and then offered to sell me a new one. I limped my car down the road to Auto Lab where they sourced the same parts and did the work for less than $2,500, it saved me a lot of money and kept my car on the road for several more years. They are honest and straightforward and great to do business with.

Being from out of state I wasn’t sure where to go for repairs on my 2000 Honda CR-V. I googled and found Auto Lab. I was impressed by their warranty of 36 months/36,000 miles. My experience with dealers indicates they only provide 30 days on parts.When I went to Auto lab I found a neat, clean and orderly shop. The personnel were courteous, helpful and quick to respond. As I am retired military, I was also very pleased that they recognized my service with a discount.Whenever I need service when I am in the Libertyville region, I will go back to them and be assured of Auto Lab’s quality service. I am proud to provide a strong recommendation for them. They aren’t the cheapest, but I am confident of getting high quality repairs for my cars at a reasonable charge.

This is a great place to have your vehicle worked on. I brought in my 1978 Olds Cutlass and they looked it over and got want was needed dome in a couple of days even when they needed to find parts that were not easy to find. So I came to Auto Lab as a recommendation from a friend and this was my first experience there.I really appreciated how Sherman explained what needed to be done and what could wait (or was less critical). He was patient as I asked questions and made decisions.At the end of the day, people have to trust the people who work on their vehicles. Not only to do the work, but trusting them to recommend the right work to do. I can honestly say that I trust Auto Lab on both of those fronts.

After getting a very high quote for brake work at a local dealer, I took my car to Auto Lab for a quote. I am a first-time customer and came here based on their online reviews. Auto Lab examined the brakes and showed me what needed to done, and provided a quote that was literally hundreds of dollars less than the dealers quote. They treated me with respect and did the work at the price they quoted. It has been several weeks since I had the brakes done and they are functioning perfectly.

I have been going here for years. I tried other mechanics but they either didnt know what they were doing, or their prices were high. I am very frugal, and have to get the best service for the least amount possible. And, Autolab is it! Plus, Kevin and Sherman are like good friends now... I trust them 100%. Had my car towed here after being unable to start it while at work. Turned out to be a bad starter. Work started right away, but since they had to order out for the part, I had to leave the car overnight. I was provided a free loaner vehicle and when I picked up the car the next day, I was told that there were some complications due to having to remove the exhaust manifold (rusted/deteriorated hardware) and and the job took a lot longer than planned. They ate the additional labor and charged me the original esitmated price. Excellent service and thorough debrief afterward. If I need service again while Im in the area, Im going to Auto Lab.

I have a 1965 Chevy truck and they were even able to diagnose that. Also, my girlfriend has a 2004 Saab and after getting multiple quotes for $1k-$2k elsewhere they fixed it for her in the $125 diagnostic evaluation. It just needed a valve.
