Shotokan Karate Center is fantastic all around. My boys started back in August 2018 and they have grown tremendously as young little gentleman and karate students… sensei drew is determined to instill appropriate manners in the children as well as teach them life skills as well as karate skills during each class. It is a very family oriented atmosphere and my boys and joy it every day they go! Activities such as parents night out throw an extra added fun for the kids to enjoy with their karate peers! I highly recommend this center for Lexingtons karate Choice!

I immediately fell in love with traditional karate. My parents loved the changes they saw in me as I developed discipline, focus and respect! We found a home and an amazing community of friends and families that have built into lasting relationships to this day. After one year at the dojo, there were issues with impartiality and the way the belts are awarded. When i voiced my dissatisfaction, my opinion was not welcomed.

Shotokan Karate Center is a traditional karate dojo with a family feel. Preciseness of basic techniques, fighting strategy, and rigorous training are emphasized. Some students choose to participate in tournaments and generally place very well. Shihan Ken Bost is the Chief Instructor at and founder of SKC. I have been training with Bost Shihan for 10 years now and can honestly say he is one of the finest teachers of traditional martial arts in the south. Bost Shihan gives plenty of personal attention to his students and always challenges them to improve their techniques.This is not a belt farm so if you are willing to work hard and leave your ego at the door, this may be the dojo for you. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes for children, and beginner and advanced classes for adults.
