Clean and friendly environment. The school is well run and you can tell the instructors are all on the same page. The curriculum is well organized and versatile enough for any situation. I reccomend this place for all levels of Jiujitsu and self defense players whether you are trying to establish your game or trying to make your game better.

This is a wonderful place to train in jiu jitsu with an added perspective on Street self defense. The instructors are phenomenal and classes are laid back while always maintaining safety. Everybody who trains here are welcoming and happily give tips. There is definitely a mentality of growing better together, desiring improvement for your partner as well as yourself. With 3 free classes there are no excuses not to give it a try.

Love the atmosphere at this academy. Lineage is legit and curriculum is excellent. Comfortable for students of all ages and ability levels. I cant recommend Lexington Jiu Jitsu enough for anyone interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or self defense. This is the absolute best academy in the midlands for Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

Excellent teaching in a supportive environment! Ive been going for two years and I love having the opportunity to train with such a great team of men and women. The focus is always on personal improvement, and solid technique. As a life-long couch potato, I didnt think martial arts was something I could ever learn, let alone enjoy, but Lexington Jiu Jitsu changed my mind! It has been a Le-Jit experience!

I came from out of town on an extended work project, and I was wanting to find something healthy to do with my evenings. I had trained BJJ before for a short period of time, so I thought Id look for a class close to my hotel and start training again. When you visit a new martial arts class for the first time, you never really know what youre going to find. Ill tell you what I found at Lexington Jiu-Jitsu: I found a great class full of great people to train with, led by great instructors who walk through class during drills and give individual instruction to help you learn technique properly. What I didnt find at Lexington Jiu-Jitsu: Egos. From advanced brown belts down to white belts, the attitude and mentality is to learn, not just to dominate. I am a 41 year old guy who always has to go to work the next day. The great attitude of everyone Ive trained with so far makes me confident that Im training in a safe learning environment, and Im having a lot of fun doing it.-Ryan

Hands down the best academy in the Columbia area. Well-trained instructors, solid teaching, comfortable & welcoming atmosphere. LJJ is one-of-a-kind, offering a complete self-defense curriculum that applies to both the street and the mat. Jeb has created something special and you really wont find better! Stop thinking about it and just go in and try a class!!

I first started my BJJ journey way back in 1997, and over the years, due to different reasons, never stuck around at any one academy for any length of time. Id try a place out, stick around for a few months, then quit for a few years. Another jiu-jitsu place would pop up, Id stop by once or twice, then quit again. This pattern repeated itself many times until I just happened to drive by Lexington Jiu-Jitsu on Sunset Blvd. during the summer of 2015. I decided to dust off the gis in my closet and give them a shot and am glad I did. Had I joined a different school that summer to try my hand at jiu-jitsu again, Im sure I would have quit shortly thereafter like I had at all the previous schools I attended. Fortunately, I found Jebs academy instead and have been here ever since. Not only does his academy offer top notch instruction, he provides a safe learning environment that allows his students to train for the long haul and with a lot of high level training partners thatll push you as hard as you want to be pushed. I started at Lexington Jiu-Jitsu as a white belt, am now a purple belt, and am 100% positive Ill still be training here in the future as a black belt.

The learning atmosphere at Lexington Jiu Jitsu is phenomenal! I’ve tried other martial arts and even other jiu jitsu places and felt like the karate kid walking into the Cobra Kai dojo! But everyone here is so friendly and helpful, from day 1, I felt like Norm walking into Cheers!I train dogs for a living, so I do a lot of instruction and I’m super impressed with skills and training techniques of the instructors here! I’ve even picked up some great ideas to make me a better dog trainer! If you’re on the fence about jiu jitsu, come here and give it a try, but beware you’ll probably become addicted like me!

Growing up, I trained in karate for a number of years. Karate was huge back then because everyone wanted to be Bruce Lee. I was very skilled in karate. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very humble and my cockiness led to some very poor decisions. Those decisions resulted in me spending most of my senior year of high school being tormented and ambushed by a new kid at our school that didn’t have the skills to face me one-on-one. When he got bored of sucker punches and surprise attacks he started to train in karate in order to take my torment to a whole new level. This culminated in him using an illegal kick to knock me out and steal the championship from me in the final round of the All Valley Championship tournament. After I woke up, I realized if something isn’t working then I needed to try something new. I stopped practicing karate. I tried boxing. I tried tai chi. I tried taekwondo. During my 20’s I even tried drunken boxing. To be fair, there wasn’t much boxing. I mostly just drank. That’s when I hit rock bottom. At one point, while sleeping in the streets I woke up to a group of ten-year-old girls pelting me with pennies. I couldn’t even defend myself. All I could do was curl up into a fetal position and cry. Not long afterwards, I accidentally stumbled into the Lexington Jiu Jitsu academy under the assumption that it was a Thai food restaurant. They took me in, cleaned me up, and started teaching me the gentle art of jiu jitsu. It changed my life in the best possible way and it’s given me the confidence to stand up to those girls and tell them it’s NOT okay to throw pennies at people.
