I really like the staff here! From Myles to Stephanie, Hunter to Destiny (sp?) helping me pick my swimming appointments. I really like the movie room to not notice that Iβm on a treadmill as long. Iβve been to one yoga class and schedule permitting I want to go back again! They even wished me a happy birthday!
Honestly I only care about the pool, and is great for lap swimming.
Switched from a different gym. Super friendly and helpful trainers. Great equipment and super clean. The training really challenges me. Always look forward to my visits.
My husband (retired Captain Sheriff dept) was falsely accused of almost running someone over. My husband insisted they have the person claiming the false accusations and us present to discuss this false accusations. Instead they took it upon themselves to throw us out and told us our membership was canceled and we were no longer allowed at Muv. Now 5 months later they continue to charge my account and no matter how many times Weve called and assured issue would be resolved it hasnt seems they are unwilling to help! Now Im getting notified that they will send me to collection to ruin my credit. Guess Ill be contacting my lawyer. Place needs people with true management skills
My husband and I were members for 9 years. I have a gym at my office so I filled out the paperwork to end my membership. My husband kept his. In the middle of his workout the staff member comes up to him and motions for him to come to the front desk. He tells my husband he is no longer a member. My husband corrected him and said that I had canceled but he didnβt cancel his. They allowed him to continue his workout but when he asked to clear it up, the guy he had to talk to wasnβt available. They insisted his membership had been canceled. So he left. They continue to charge his credit card. So he calls HQ and they say he is still a member. He told them their own staff told him he wasnβt. They gave him an email address and told him to plead his case. Charges continued and no one would help. Finally just got it fixed. Muv, please fix your financial operations.

Good gym, nice people. No real complaints. They send you a survey every few months and actually work on what you tell them. Been a member at the Lexington location for 1.5 years and went the the west Columbia one back when it was brand new for 2 years.

It was wonderful to get back to Teresas acqua fit class this morning. I was sorry I could attend only one class but right now I think one was enough to start. Teresa is a great and enjoyable instructor.
Equipment constantly broken, missing integral parts and pieces. Free weight area smells like a corpse due to them never cleaning the rubberized weight plates. Water fountain has been broken downstairs for over a month. Make any complaint or comment and nothing will really come of it. Why do I still go here?

Terrible management. My 68 year old mother was a member here for 8+ years. At the start of Covid she called and indefinitely froze her membership. However, they kept billing her to squeeze every dime they could out of her. They threatened to put her account in collection so she went ahead and paid but total scum of a company to not empathize with an elder woman during a global pandemic. Stay away.
Very nice staff and awesome facilities
My contract with the Lexington location ended in April but it was closed in March due to COVID19. I had no charges in between that time. I was charged in June. When I called to ask why, I was told that my account was now month to month. I asked for my contract and they stated they would have to get approval from the manager to send it to me. If I wanted to cancel I would have to come in and give them 30 days notice. I only attended the gym a total of 5 times due to a busy work schedule and Iβve had the contract for a year because I couldnβt get out of it. I also signed up for daycare for my child added to my husband and my account. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she could call me back because sheβs busy with a client. I said no I would wait and after waiting they said they could send me a cancellation form in an email. After being on hold my call was forwarded back to the start prompts so I transferred to speak to a person again. I spoke to a person and asked if I could speak to the manager I was told the manager would be busy for a while. I asked how long a while would be and was told 30 min. I then asked for a corporate number and was given a personal cellular phone number which went to a prerecorded message saying to send an email. I researched online for a corporate number and the number I called gave prompts about covid and hung up (it hasnβt been changed since they opened back up) Iβm furious because my account is being charged Iβm not in town to go in and they will still be charging my account.
On Sunday, around 12:30 I called the Irmo club to ask about lying in the sun on the pool patio, the guy who answered told me β sure, that shouldnβt be a problem βI knew there wasnβt any pool chairs out, that I would just use a beach towel. So I drive there, it was 1 pmβ half an hour ago I talked tonthis guy on the phoneβ the gym is closed ! Why the heck didnβt he tell me the gym closed at 1pm ?!!! 3 or 4 other people drive up, they didnβt know the gym closed at 1 . 9-1 on Saturday and Sunday/- ridiculous!
Kelci was very professional, and had great customer service. I have been in the process of moving back to Lexington from over seas, I had a card issue, and the whole team at MUV fitness where able to take care of everything, and update my card with no issues. Canβt Waite too start working out at MUV fitness. πͺπ½

Despite the horror stories Ive read regarding cancellations, Emily was able to quickly cancel my wifes membership due to legit medical reasons (and documentation I brought in) no questions asked. 10 stars if I could!The gym itself is decent, convenient for where I live, and has great Yoga classes with Regina.

I joined three months ago and started training with Eric. So far, I am down 16 lbs. The biggest surprise has been the 45 point drop in my cholesterol. I am very pleased with the results that I am getting through training and using my membership at MUV Fitness.
My wife and I just joined 2 weeks ago. So far we really enjoy the kind staff, equipment and amenities. Other gym member seem to be from local community that are friendly. Hope it stays this way or better.

I went to this particular gym last week and the women at the front desk werent so welcoming . I wanted info about the gym it seemed really nice, reminded me of crunch fitness in California. anyway Im asking questions and these two women just acted as if I wasnt standing there asking them questions about the gym and the treated me as if Blacks werent welcome smh.. They ignored my questions and gave me dirty looks so I just left. Never againnever felt so disrespected

My membership was cancelled by mistake. I tried to cancel kids care online, it clearly said that I am cancelling kids care not my membership. Well comes to find out Muvβs cancelled my membership! I called the Lexington location and was told that someone will call me back. That never happened! I emailed them, still no call. Very disappointed in them since I was a member for years.
Great gym! Mackenzie was very helpful and professional . Always greets us with a sweet smile.and ask how were doing when she sees us. However, I do feel the showers need to be cleaned thoroughly more often.Always wear shoes!
The atmosphere here is superb. Great staff. The vibe is cool and the equipment is always in great working condition.
First off, great prices for the things that are included. The staff is friendly. They are there to better you and your health. The gym AND bathrooms are always nice and clean. Great gym as a whole.
Good variety in classes and good trainers
We tried the 14 day free trial and when we were able to go, the facilities were big, lots of equipment, great and clean, many different activities and places to work out and explore, and an indoor pool and more. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, very helpful. I wish I could have spent more time exploring and starting my fitness mission, but hopefully soon. Thank you!!
I have them a 1, because they will not open back up everything in the gym I dont understand how you can have a whole gym full of people in there working on the equipment but you cant have people tanning or doing zumba or getting in the pool and in the sauna. dont make sense
Im a new member. So far the spin classes, aqua workouts, and personal training have been great! Kelsi and Anthony have helped tremendously with correcting my form and keeping me motivated.
Love the classes and instructors!! Parking sucks but not a big deal we go to workout not find the closest parking spot ππ€£Only thing that annoys me is that they open late on Saturdays and Sundays and close up too early.

If I could have given zero rating, I would have done that.I moved out of area 2 months ago and i have been calling the staff multiple times to cancel my membership. They will not call back and keep charging me the amount. After filling out the forms they seem to have lost it and now want me to discuss this with an outsource billing company since they dont have manpower to handle it. Horrible. Worst service i have ever experienced. Will never recommend it to anyone.Worst staff and service ever.
The facilities and gym are nice. They have a sizable free weight section, which is great since a good number of gyms are getting rid of this. Large cardio deck with a movie room - new movie daily. I did not try out their classes, however, they have a large selection of classes included in membership. It is nice that they have a pool, however, really only 2 lanes for lap swimming (while classes are going; 3 otherwise). It would be nice for have 3 lanes always (they just need one more lane line). The pool could have been a little cleaner for an indoor pool - it was similar to an outdoor pool.

The staff at this gym is very friendly. The facility is clean and brightly lit. They offer several programs and classes to meet every fitness goal and need. The pool and hot tub are cleaned regularly and kept in good condition. As a bonus they also have a sauna in both the mens and womens locker rooms, and a workout theater where you can watch a movie while exercising on various machines.
I think this is one of the better gyms in Columbia but I think the building is kept too hot. Not enough A/C in the summer and too much heat in th he winter. The cardio theatre seems stale. Management is polite and attentive.
The showers constantly have black mold on them. The equipment is kept in running condition. Be prepared to sacrifice your first born child to cancel a contract. Even if you have a reason that meets their criteria (moving 50 miles away) you better be ready to hire a lawyer to get the paperwork ready. I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone. Go to Planet Fitness down the road. Its cheaper, newer, better maintained, and easier to deal with in general.
Facility and equipment are good. However make sure to read everything on the contract. When I signed up I told them that I traveled a lot and didnt want to be locked into a contract. The representative told me that it would be a month to month renewal when I signed up. Based on my travel schedule, I decided to cancel and was told that I was locked into a year term on setup. While it is my fault for not reading through the entire contract, they should also be much more forth coming on their contracts and not say anything to sell them. Be sure to understand everything before you sign and not go off what they tell you!
The place is conveniently located near our place. However, the staff is extremely rude. Especially the girls/guys at the front desk. They probably have had no training at all before they were assigned to their jobs at the front desk because if you ask them a simple question they give you a perplexed look and then scramble to find one of their equally confused coworkers. FIRST THING, every business need to teach its employees is to be courteous and smile!!!! Will not recommend anyone to seek a membership here.
Poor customer service and kids care program administrator is a joke. Matter of fact, this whole organization is a joke. They need multiple 0 star reviews and I hope that other people that feel the same way will start sharing their experiences. As for this places High Standards those two words together arent supposed to be used in the same sentence as this place!!
Awesome gym with lots of programs and classes. My trainer keeps me accountable and everyone there is helpful and greets you with a smiling face. Only complaints are the billing departments mistakes and no boxing/fighting programs yet. I love the MΓΌv Training classes!
About two years ago I became a members of Muv Fitness in South Carolina. I never once used this membership and less than a month later I moved to another state without a location so I called to discontinue my membership. I filled out the paperwork and faxed it to the number I was given. The few months I continued to get charged my membership fee. I called dozens of times and resubmitted the paperwork multiple times yet I was still getting charged! I had to pay my bank to put a stop payment on Muv because they never resolved the issue. The last time I spoke on the phone with a manager I was assured that everything was resolved and my membership was canceled. Well I am now trying to buy a house and long behold they are claiming I owe them over 800 dollars and it is now in collections! This is insane! I am contacting a lawyer about this. THEY ARE SCAMMERS BEWARE!
I want to praise Liliana Hare. She is one of the associates, and I had an issue with my membership that she resolved in less than 4 hours. With all the nightmares you hear about with gym memberships, I found this to be amazing. She was courteous, reasonable, and very friendly. With team members like her this gym is going to go far.
Gym it self was great! However when I cancelled my membership due to moving to a state where there were no locations they continued to charge me. I spoke to multiple managers and was assured it would be cancelled but then long behold I kept being charged. I had to stop payment with my bank and now I have 800+ dollars on my credit now in collections from Muv. Im working with my lawyer to have these charges removed. Beware of this place! Its a wolf in sheeps clothing.
Used the facility for 6 months in 2016 (July-Dec) and cancelled membership because I moved to the Midwest. I followed the instructions on how to cancel by providing proof of my change of address. Today, March 1st 2019, I received a text message stating that there was a problem with my membership. I called only to find out they had still been billing my card for the past 26 months. This was a mistake on my part not to check to make sure earlier but it is a card that has a lot of automatic drafts. I didnβt call them asking for a refund for the last two plus years of charges, I wanted to cancel the membership. I was told to that they would cancel the membership if I sent an email and I was also responsible for the February and March charges. This was all they were willing to do for me. So on top of the $750+ that they had already taken out after I asked it to be canceled, they wanted an additional two months. Before this incident I was very happy with my time at Muv and their facilities but now due to the level of incompetence in the customer service and because I am still on the hook for this extra money, I completely regret becoming a member and advise anyone in the area to avoid the Lexington location.

Loved the aquatic classes and the steam room. I forgot my lock and thought since I had my gym bag over my purse, no one would go in it. Wrong, someone stole my cash. But i learned my lesson quickly and purchased another lock.
Great classes and convenient schedules. The cleanliness of bathrooms and steam room. I know from experience that hair balls/funk seem to remain dormant in the steam room and shower stalls (located in the pool area) for days. Yuck. They dont clean these areas often. :-( If you wear your flip flops you should be ok!! Lolz

Great facility with emphasis on the whole person, not just body building. Diet, workouts, strength conditioning, meal plans, cardio ... All of it
They added more cardio machines and they keep it clean. No creepers either

Told me two months ago that everything was fine for my cancelation and they are STILL taking money out of my account. Called the number they told me too and I was told there is nothing they can do. That thereβs no proof I tried to cancel it, so now I owe an entire month more of 40$ for this gym that i donβt even go to. DONT DO BUINESS WITH THIS GYM. Thereβs other gyms in the area that are way better. Going on 4 months of payment to a gym that I donβt go to and was under the impression that I canceled it two months ago.
I give five stars to Milady my trainer and the workers who are caring, kind and respectful and one guy is so funny which is what I need to keep going. As for the pool and equipment I just say eeh! I think Id like a bit more chlorine given the seniors and kids that use it. Im a senior so YES, I can say that. The hot tub wall was filthy and I havent been back. I joined for the pool! But Im grateful for Milady,and the gang. Id sure like a regular, step together step, good music Aerobics class like in the 90s to get my motor going again! LOL
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH MUV. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. YOU WILL REGRET IT.π€¬ After *completing* our one-year contract, Muv has made it an absolutely nightmare to close our membership. I spoke with Karen from Muv Corporate back in October 2018 and this matter was supposed to be resolved with our membership canceled.Today, I got a letter from a collections agency in the mail. Not only is the debt not valid to begin with, but I also never received any letter from Muv regarding any alleged past due amount so I could quickly clear up the mistake. Now, the burden is on me to prove to the collections agency in writing that the debt is not valid.BEWARE: If you are considering becoming a member at Muv, if you wish to leave after your contract term is up, they want you to print and fill out a cancellation affidavit in writing and mail it by certified mail to their cancellation department. Then you will receive a series of three emails or letters regarding your requested cancellation, the third of which will finally be cancellation confirmation. Then, and only then, is your membership actually cancelled.No one at the front desk will be willing or able to help you. They will direct you through this intentionally convoluted process hoping that you will give up and keep paying. The best way to avoid this headache is to NEVER JOIN MUV to begin with.
Lexington gym staff is awesome, always greeted with a smile and everyone is eager to make sure you are helped.
Been to all the locations, theyre all great - least fav is Sandhills one. I pay 34 a month and have access to all these locations. This one has the best free weights equipment for my needs. I love the machines too, it has ALL I need. Lockers are a bit dated, parking is crowded and limited and wish it had more mirrors upstairs. Front desk white girls could be less sour-faced.As for the folks nagging about the cancelling your contract process - thats EVERY big gym or fitness club out there (besides PF or any other dirty cheap joint that acts like the gym equivalent of walmart) because theyre managed by some company usually in Utah. Havent cancelled with MUV, but did with many Golds gyms (& Peak fitness, Club Fitness of CLT, Blast etc) due to relocating. They ALL keep charging after youve cancelled - just call ur bank, put a block on ur debit or change card. I even had Blast fitness tell me theyll ruin my credit for owing 170(even tho I cancelled) and I said its not a damn medical bill and they dropped it. Avoid giving your SSN when u sign up (here they didnt ask me for it).
Love the Lexington location, but disappointed in the maintenance schedule! Dry sauna has been unavailable for 3 weeks because of one broken board that was removed, but left nails sticking out. Geez could someone bring a hammer and pull out the offending nails until a new board can be installed?

Used to love this gym. Now I have been told several times not to grunt or lift so loud. Guess this is just another planet fitness now. Sad, they discourage heavy lifting and cater to people who dont like other who left more than them or different from them. Time for a new gym

The WORST place of business I have EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!! Not just the worst gym- but worst place of BUSINESS, in general!!They are such a JOKE! Managers tell you one thing and then you find out itβs completely different and youβre told βoh well!β. My husband and I both sent in the exact notice to cancel our membership- AFTER THE FULL YEAR WAS UP- not trying to cancel in the middle of our membership- (which we were told verbatim by the MUV reps on what the email needs to state!!!!) my husbands was fine but for some reason they are stating that I did not type the correct message via email - which I had to send TWICE- so they are telling me I owe them over $300! When my years contract was already up! And I typed exactly what I was told to!! lol!I spoke with the manager (at the Lexington SC location) in PERSON also, who assured me it would be taken care of!!! ! But Iβm basically told, oh well, ONCE AGAIN!!I referred my mom, (before I knew how they REALLY OPERATE)!who signed a years membership, PAID IT IN FULL, and paid for a trainerβand I was told ONCE AGAIN- oh well on the referral for one free month! Because they didnβt have a copy of her paperwork!!!!!!!! Lol!!!!!! Which I was assured AGAIN- by the manager that it would be taken care of. Of course it never was!I honestly never write bad reviews about companies- but this place is AWEFUL!!My husband and I started at the West Columbia location- before we moved to Lexington and it was pretty much the same thing!!Iβve never in my life had such a horrible experience with a business!Iβm a business owner! And I will make sure everyone knows about this company through every social media outlet, word of mouth, etc that I possibly can! Because I would HATE for someone else to encounter the same issues we have!
For being a member over 5 years never had no issues until now. Not the safest gym to attend and no longer put my child in the daycare center either. Watch out for signing up for additional classes because trainers and times change especially when you are in additional 6 month agreement from your original membership. One month I was given purposely the wrong schedule so I would miss all of the times in the classes I wanted to attend. The best trainers are Katy, Jevon and Alex. Poor Management, poor processing, and horrible follow up on issues or things you want to work on. If I ever have any issues, I always have to call corporate. As for the people who workout there. The members are great.
Great classes and ammineites. However we moved out of state and we were told all we had to do was submit a letter to cancel our membership. Instead we had to go through thier 3rd party billing, which takes a minimum of 30 days. My husbands took 3 months and my daughters took 5 and numerous phone calls to get them to stop the ACH from my bank.

Why would they open the gym at 5am through the week but not on the weekend, especially Saturday? The hours they open and close the gym is very frustrating. You would think with the high amount you have to pay, you could have access 24hrs....
