I would highly recommend ammco 4 any service on your vehicle. Even through faulty parts they were friendly very courteous and always upbeat. It reminded me of my childhood days going to the garage with my father and hanging out such good memories. The owner and the girls up front were so nice. They are definitely my go-to place for any type of work on my vehicles from this point on. Great job guysπŸ‘

Excellent service and friendly, professional service.I took my van to a different AAMCO for warranty work. (the van shuddered going up hills). It sat there for an entire week and they did nothing. (other than supposedly pouring in some shudder guard) and sent me on my way.About 200 miles later the transmission suffered catastrophic failure.Lexington AAMCO fixed it 3 days and it runs like a champ.Very friendly people that did the warranty work as if it were a high paying job.

Didn’t come through for us. Talked a good game to replace our ford transmission. Gave them a check down payment. Told them we didn’t want our expedition just sitting in the lot. Two weeks later still getting the line β€œoh it’ll be in tomorrow”. Guess what we called around and were able to get one with a better warranty in one day. Pulled the car to get it fixed. It’ll be done. Maybe other people have had good work. We aren’t one of them. Btw they NEVER offered to track it down so I question it was ever ordered or it’s being rebuilt in some back shop. The $150 return fee was worth getting my expedition out of there and fixed right!

In response regarding the transmission heres the difference between shops.I gave you a $1,500 check 7/2. The transmission wasnt ordered until who knows but the check cleared 7/6. I have to assume you dont have credit and didnt order it until you had the cash. You told me EVERYDAY that the transmission was coming in. If it was why wasnt my car on a lift to receive the new transmission? It was only when I asked for my keys back you revealed that you hadnt received a tracking number yet and only had just received one that day (Thursday 7/6).Regarding returning net money, you said have to wait until you get refunded. my conclusion is - you dont have credit and you have a cash.Donahue Transmission - I dropped the vehicle off yesterday. The transmission is on the lift and out. The new transmission will be in Monday and I will have my ford on Tuesday and I got a better warranty.

My mother’s Honda civic had clutch problems and I took it to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care. Chris immediately had the car taken to the shop and Mike immediately and accurately diagnosed the problem (clutch slave cylinder leak). They quoted me a fair price and began working on it right away. I was so impressed, I even asked them to do a complete tune up and tire rotation. Mike was so accommodating and agreed to drive my mother’s car homeβ€”since I was driving my own truck. I highly recommend Chris, Mike and the rest of the team for their professional and timely service!

Went to this shop to get a starter replaced. When I left it was making a noise so they told me to bring it back and they would check it out. True to their word they put it back on the lift, took the starter back off to compare it to the old one only to realize it was a manufacturer faulty starter, nothing they could have done about that. They had a new one sent to the shop in a timely manner and put it on and now the car runs as great as it should. The owner then threw in a free oil change for all the headache. Great service and great staff! Thank you to the guys at AAMCO for the awesome service and help today, and for also backing their work up the way they did!

So im only leaving my review with this location because its where I took my car but it was passed to a different location, im not sure which, for repairs. I actually liked talking to Chris because he seemed knowledgeable and actually listened. My issue actually started with Mike. I originally called after hearing what sounded like a belt pop and my transmission began slipping. My husband brought it in for me and they inspected it saying a service bulletin suggested that it needed a valve body replaced and that there didnt appear to be any internal damage. Assuming a processional might know something I didnt, I agreed to have the work done. I picked up my car and was immediately having the exact same problems. I was told that the valve body was faulty because it could not be reprogrammed and they said it usually means that the transmission needs to be rebuilt when it continues to have issues like mine. Not happy that I just paid for 1 repair that didnt fix anything, I needed my car so I told them to go ahead when my husband thought they were saying they wouldnt charge more than $3800 total. I asked if I could get some form of transportation in the mean time and they offered a mere discount on a rental. I was told a few times that a rebuild is $3800 and that would include everything that is necessary but it wouldnt be more than $3800 because thats what it costs to replace it. So because of the month long process and the rebuild showing that I needed a belt, pulley system, and torch converter replaced, I got a discount that brought the rebuild from $4200, as was written on my receipt, to $2700 but I still paid the $1800 to have the value body replaced and everything cost me $4500, an extra $700 at the very least and Mike wants to argue about how it was necessary. He told me that the valve body probably went faulty due to the internal transmission issues when I went to pick up my car but now hes saying he cant work on could haves and if the transmission belt had popped then I wouldnt have heard it and it wouldnt have been drivable. All I know is that either the valve body that was 1st put in my car was faulty and caused the internal damage when they told me to take it on the interstate for a week, or the internal damage was the problem and they over looked it, misdiagnosed my car, and im paying more because of it and they wont reimburse that $700 or truely listen to me without demeaning me and interrupting me. It seems that $700 reimbursement would be a reasonable compromise instead of having me pay for a repair that didnt fix anything and couldve possibly been the reason I needed the transmission rebuild, especially one that was supposedly so extensive.

Lexington 1 stop quoted a price of $6000 (yea, six thousand dollars) but could not tell me what they were going to do, or what was so wrong to cost $6k.Aamco did the service, plus repaired a few things they found while under the truck, and got me down the road for $750.While we had a few issues with a ujoint that just kept breaking, they have done a good job backing up their work.

I will never take any vehicle to this shop, ever. I took my truck in on Thursday (Aug 4th) when they opened, the tech told me that the girl that checks in the cars was running late and that I could leave the car and she will call me back. I did not receive any call back so the next day I called and was able to talk to someone to check it in. They said they would call me back once they looked at it. My wife was out and saw our truck being driven so about 3 hours later I called. Once I finally got someone they told be what they thought was wrong and what the cost would be. I approved the work to start and they said it would be ready Monday (Aug 8). That Wednesday after not hearing about my truck, I called a number of times and left messages but did not get a return call. On Thursday I was able to reach someone and they told tried to get me to approve additional work (which they was not sure it needed) and I told them just to do what I was quoted. They said they would call me back once they had the parts (which I was told would be that day). No call back. On Friday (Aug 12), I called several times and finally got someone that told me it would be ready on Saturday (Aug 13, 10 days after I took it in). I called on Saturday and the person that answered said that he would check with the Tech and call me back. 3 hours later, no call back. I tried to call them 4 more times with no answer so I drove to the shop. When I got there and asked what was going on, I was told that no work had been done yet on the truck after 10 days. I asked for the keys and am going to take to a different shop.

Terrible service. Cars up on blocks in front, behind and beside the building. Bad location, hard to get in and out of because of traffic. Staff is rude. Appointments are lost or forgotten. They were closed during operating hours during appointment times and do not return phone calls.** response edit**There was an older white SUV, up on blocks, on the back/side of your parking lot. I drove by it three times. There were also multiple cars in your parking lot in various states of repair, one in particular without a hood. Also, your shop never completed repairs on my vehicle. I came for a diagnostic, which I received. An appointment was set for the following morning and a deposit for parts was made. At my return the next morning FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, there was a handwritten sign on the glass front door, that said stepped out, please call ***-**** I called, there was no answer. I waited 45 minutes in the parking lot before I left. I also called 3 times before I left. I wasnt able to get in touch with anyone until after noon that day. At that time, they asked me well, did you have an appointment?. At this point, after taking time off work, driving back and forth, bad customer service, and now catching attitude like It was MY fault they didnt have my appointment scheduled... I decided, look, I dont want to do business with you. I asked for my deposit back. They refused because they said weve already ordered your part. HOW DID THEY ORDER A PART FOR AN APPOINTMENT THEY DIDNT KNOW THEY HAD, AND DIDNT SHOW UP FOR? I spoke with Mike, the manager, and he too refused to return my deposit. He did offer to make arrangements for another appointment, and for someone to give me a ride back and forth, but with a day of missed work already and a sour experience, I said no. I called the corporate headquarters which only directed me back to the Lexington Office. I finally filed a fraud claim with my bank, for services charged but not provided, and received my deposit money back. And now, heres the owner trying to call me a liar. Its no wonder yall have such a bad rating.

I have taken it to them a couple of times over the past year for routine high mileage maintenance and have been completely satisfied with the honesty, timeliness of service and cost. I was quoted a lower price on oil changes there than any of the drive thru locations in Lexington have ever charged. A recent non-routine code the trucks computer threw was researched diligently by Gary and fixed quickly. I highly recommend this team for their Total Car Care.

A little over a year ago I took my car in to get the transmission replaced. Two months and 3 transmissions later I finally got my car back. They were under different management at that time and since that time they have changed managers twice. I have had CONSTANT trouble with this car since then. I thought it was the transmission again a few months ago and took it in and it turned out the engine mounts were bad so they needed to be replaced - of course, not under warranty. When I picked the car up I immediately knew something was wrong and had the manager, Gary, who is still the manager come listen when I started my car. He insisted nothing was wrong. It actually sounded like I owned a Mustang and not a Lexus and drove very rough. After a couple weeks, I took it in again and insisted something was wrong. The manager made me feel like an idiot and finally one of his mechanics pointed out that one of the mounts was installed wrong or something and they replaced it and it drove much better. About 6 weeks ago, I took it in again because it stopped catching in reverse and was hard shifting again. Upon arrival, Gary, who I cant believe still has a job literally yelled at me over the engine mounts, which was in the past, and I paid for. I dont even know why that came up because I was in for my transmission AGAIN and it was still under warranty. He pointed in my face, and yelled, and was so out of line that I thought he and my husband were going to come to blows. I got the owner, Chris on the line who asked me what was going on with my car, asked me to leave the keys, and give the phone back to Gary. I have NEVER been treated so badly! Well since that time, the company who provides the transmissions said they would not work with Gary anymore and asked permission to tow my car to a different shop. Of course I gave it because they were still going to honor the warranty and I will NEVER go back to Aamco again. I finally picked up my car last Friday from the shop that replaced the transmission again and it is driving just like when I first bought it. Take my advice, and NEVER, EVER go to Aamco - at least this one!!

You might want to get a drink and sit down for this one. It is interesting to read such negative responses right next to glorious responses. In the case of this establishment I truly believe the employees and owners wrote the glorious ones. This is truely a screwed up place. Here is my story. I dropped off a 2009 Dodge Caliber with the cvt transmission. I was told they have a inhouse mechanic that is certified on thrse transmissions. After a few weeks I have not heard anything. So I called. They were busy and have not touched it yet. I was not in a hurry, I was setting up a taxi service in Sumter and this was going to be the first car, so I waited. The next time I called I spoke with Ryan, he was cool. He was a mechanic but was acting manager. I explained my situation how no one was calling and that I needed my car. He stated that they took the car to the local Dodge dealer to get it flashed, AND FORGOT IT WAS THERE. He stated that the dealer had to call them to come and get the car.Now Ryan was cool and would call me with updates to the progress with my car. Oh the tech had a death in the family. Oh the rebuilt ttransmission is coming in. I waited 5 months (count them five) for the car to be done. Ryan expressed his concern for the delays and stated we will be discounting heavily on this bill and will do it for basic cost. Around $1500. Ok that works. The car is finally done and Ryan is no longer there. A girl whose name began with an a was now the manager. She hands me the bill $2300+. The $1500 was typed in by the computer and the balance was wtitten in by hand. And here is the best part. She gave me all the info with the bill. Here is where it gets good. The bastards got a core from a company and were charged a core credit of $100.00. Then they charged me $100.00 for the core credit. I called the company where they bought the core and Aamco received the $100.00 back on January 2 2017. They are profiting on the $100.00 core. I called and complained the regional manager Mike. He told me they are allowed to do that. Six months later the transmission is dead. Less than 13000 miles. Their warranty is only for three months. So I am screwed. Do not take your vehicle here. They are useless. LD Walkers in west Columbia are honest brokers on the tranny game. They have my business from now on. Now off to the consumer affairs office to file charges. 5 months for nothing. Good luck folks.
