Brandon listens to what I ask him to do with/to my car. We then have a detailed discussion about pertinent details (pros/cons, possible problems, ways it could be better, etc...). Once we agree on a course of action, he sets to work and does a thorough job.If anything requires a deviation from our plan, he takes the time to explain in as much detail as I need, what the situation is. We then have another discussion to determine the best path forward.Every time, Ive left Auto Engineering (Brandons care), Ive felt that I was listened to, that the work was expertly performed and that my car is better than it was when I arrived.I cant say that for some other highly rated shops who SHOULD have done a workmanlike job w/o me having to go back a second time and ask for a do over...a correction to work done poorly in the first place.If you ask me, thats the primary reason to have your Porsche work done by Brandon at Auto Engineering. They performed a four wheel alignment with kinematic toe adjustment on my 95 993 after I did a suspension install. What a difference they made. She tracks nice and straight, the steering wheel is completely on center, and she feels like a new car. Awesome car loaner program also. I was able to run some errands while the work was being done.

Shaun was personable, communicate and fair. They serviced my Porsche Boxster even though I partially disassembled. Very pleased.

Had a APR stage one tune, intake, and new clutch done on my VW GTI MK7. These guys are incredible. Customer service was exceptional, they went out of their way to answer questions, and help me understand how my car works/ what it needs/ what it doesnt need. They did the absolute most - above and beyond. Clearly cared about helping me rather than lining their pockets - which can be rare in the car industry. Cant imagine going anywhere else in the future. Honestly have never left a review anywhere before, but felt I needed to for Auto Engineering. They really made me feel confident and happy about the money I spent - worth every penny.

Auto Engineering is the number one automotive shop hands down. I own an e46 M3 and theyve done my rod bearings, VANOS bulletproofing, control arms, drive shaft after another shop COMPLETELY messed up the center support bearing replacement, the list continues. Done right the first time, no questions asked. Ask for Emil Rhodin, hes their BMW Master Tech there and has been in the business for over a decade. The guys over there are great dudes that really know their ins and outs of Audis, Porsches, Volkswagens and of course BMWs. I love just chatting cars with them as well, theyre all enthusiasts, which to me is also really important to consider theyre treating my car like their own. So many shops Ive gone to before treat my car like it is: not theirs. And I cant stand that. These guys treat my car like I would and that goes a LONG way with me. I cant recommend them enough. 😃👍

Great place to get work done on German cars. I feel like they understand that just because I own a Porsche doesnt mean that Ive got money. A little disappointed over a misunderstanding about a replacement key but overall it is really a great place with good people.

I have been going here with various cars for well over a decade and I am soo still to this day impressed with the service, quality and professionalism of this shop! The tone is set from the top down and Rick Cagnina is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and treats every vehicle as if it were his own! He has been great to pick his brain on ideas, problems and the struggling Boston Celtics at times.. Ok he definitely can not fix that lol per say, but he has spent hours after work answering concerns as well as attending to various customer concerns even if it is just a check engine light and he does not rest until he finds the answer. It is that kind of service that we all expect and desire and that all comes natural to him as he has a real love for what he does! As expected all his staff exhibits that same outlook, as it was not by chance but by quality in which they all work here! Can not say enough about all of them, they are not just techs, they are trusted friends for a long time! Do yourself a favor and see for yourself, you will not regret it!

We used to come here all the time to get our Audi serviced....then it changed owners. We came back with our BMW convertible for a service and all of a sudden the brakes that were less than an year old needed to be replaced. We took the car and went to another repair shop and guess what? Brakes DID NOT need to be replaced. We ended up paying ⅓ of the quote by Auto Engineering. Sadly we will never go back.

This was my first time here on 4/11/2019. Super clean shop and waiting area. I came here all the way from Portsmouth, NH for an alignment after installing air ride on my 09 335xi. I was in and out pretty quick and the new alignment specs are PERFECT! I was extremely satisfied with the results and would recommend this shop to others. I would definitely come back in the future!

Id thought it impossible to find a shop that offered the knowledge of an Audi dealership but pricing that didnt make trading in for a new model more attractive a prospect. The guys kept me updated throughout the process, and were patient with me as I fumbled through explaining what Id been told by other shops/Internet forums. Received my car back yesterday after replacing several components of the suspension. I can honestly say in the 40,000 miles Ive driven the car; I didnt know it could ride this smooth.

Any negative review on here is either from previous ownership or previous technicians. The new owner of this shop is an absolute enthusiast and doesnt see these cars as money makers. He wants his customers to be 100% satisfied and is willing to answer any questions you may have. This place is the real deal and there is a reason why people will drive hours to get their car serviced here. Simple as that.Do not go to a dealership. There is no passion and it costs far more. If you want to be in an environment where the techs eat sleep and breath German engineering, AE is your place.

Excellent experience! Will definitely continue to service my BMW here. Service is seamless, got a free loaner which was actually a really nice VW. They diagnosed my car quickly, the prices parts and labor were very reasonable too! Wish I had known about Auto Engineering years ago.

Got me in same day (within an hour!) for a tune. Even gave good free advice when I noted I was going to do my own brake job this weekend. Didnt try to upsell me on doing the work there. Also heard them tell another customer not to spend money on fixing a minor oil leak as it hadnt gotten worse since the last visit.All around thumbs up. Will definitely bring my car back for future work. Oh, and the two r8s and the built 337 GTI in the waiting room didnt hurt either!

I truly enjoy the driving experience in my 2007 Audi S4 Avant. It has been regularly maintained, improved and modified over the last 4+ years by Rick and Sean at Auto Engineering in Lexington, MA. A great car has evolved to be even better thanks to them. They are the gold standard in German car care and customer service.

Brought my 2012 VW EOS in for 70K service. Very professional group, organized, friendly and service completed as quoted. Reasonable pricing as well. Called them a week later as I picked up a piece of steel in my tire. They said bring it right in - they swapped out the spare, ordered the tire and replaced in in two days. I worked with Emil - he did a fabulous job on both. Nice to have a group that is professional, friendly, does great work that I can trust! Thanks guys!

Brought my brand new BMW in for some fine tuning which was unavailable at the dealership. Found every aspect of doing business with these people to be excellent. Made an appointment which they kept and took me in on time; found the waiting area to be clean and comfortable and was able to meet my service tech (Nelson) in person who answered all of my questions. Price was on par with anywhere else I may have gone, too. Highly recommend this company for service!

Rick and the group are top notch. I have numerous choices to bring my car that are closer including dealers. I choose to drive and hour to have Rick work on my car even for just oil changes. Why? Because he treats my car like it is his own and his knowledge is far beyond any other tech I have worked with. He goes above and beyond. The few times I took my car to the dealer for warranty work he looked it over and found mistakes made by the dealer.

These guys really know their BMWs. They provide great service, they are total experts in what they do and I trust them completely. Wont be going anywhere else for service on my car!

If you own a german car, this is the place to take it. Rick and his techs will take great care of your car as they have mine. The previous owner of my car brought it to them for 17 years and I am continuing that legacy. I own a 2001 Audi S4 and anyone familiar with them knows how many problems they can have. My car has 170k miles and has only shown the normal signs of wear. It is safe to say that AE is consistent, timely and very helpful when it comes to taking care of your german cars. Rick and his staff are also very knowledgeable which I greatly appreciate :)

We brought our Mini Cooper here to be repaired in the spring of 2015. There was something wrong with the brakes. They did not repair the problem after charging us a whole lot for it and we repeatedly went in and kept telling them it wasnt fixed.Then, we moved to NY State and continued to have problems. A repair shop here said that the brake (that Auto Engineering had supposedly fixed) was completely rusted through. No wonder we kept having issues with it! (No chance of it rusting through from May - the fall of 2015.)Dont go here. From our experience, it was an expensive way for us NOT to have our car repaired.
