My name is Davia Smith. I applied for a property through Evans they never returned any of my phone calls everytime I had to reach out to them. The property that I originally applied for they told me would not be ready and sent me to another property. When I asked about the property I had originally inquired about they told me they already had a pending application and they would have never known the previous tenant moved out if I never called and told them. I called last week to pay my deposit and first month rent and she told me that she had someone else was coming to sign their lease and pay at 3pm. I spoke to a elder lady the day prior who told me that the girl who does the lease was gone for the day and that she would take my information and have her call me first thing in the morning which she never did. When I explained this to her she said there was nothing she could do. Instead of making the situation right she just told me she still had my application and that I could look at other properties. There was lack of communication no one ever returned my calls and some days I would have to call multiple times just to get them to answer the phone. I feel There may have been some racial profiling bc from the jump they tried to put me in a property that I never inquired about. Through the entire process they were nonchalant. Please look somewhere else if you are looking for a place to stay and you want proper communication. Thankfully I was able to rent through another company who was very responsive.

We rented a house on High Rock Lake through Evans Properties for nearly two years. The staff at Evans are all extremely professional and super friendly. Any time there was a problem at the house (normal wear and tear issues with appliances or plumbing, etc.) they would send someone out immediately.I read some other reviews where people grumbled about losing their deposit. We are a family of five (two of which are teens) and Im sure we can be hard on stuff, but we had no problems... We received all our deposit back after we left. So dont let those reviews scare you. The folks at Evans are more than reasonable.I cant say enough good things about this company. Our experience with them was fantastic. Great selection of properties and wonderful staff.So if youre looking to rent or buy in Lexington, you should absolutely give Evans Properties a call or visit.

Pretty hard to get ahold of most of the time and a lot of the housing costs are a little bit high!

They dont allow pets

I paid my application fee 10 days ago. But they are slow to finding me a place. If there is something wrong. I wish realitor would tell you. Dont keep people hanging on. Me Im being evicted because the property owner want to sell his property. I need something with in the next 9 days. Dont Keep me waiting. Tell me if you you are going to take me as a renter or not!!!

Many things to choose from in everyones budget

Slum lords. Dont move in here if you expect to get your deposit back, they find any reason to not give it back to you. Our house looked nice but we slowly learned that it 90% of its structure was made of roaches.

I have rented an apartment from this company for 2years and they moved in a trashy family in the apartment below us.They allowed 9 people to move into a 2 bedroom apartment and later they same people ended up with bed bugs so bad that they spread through the entire apartment building and when I reported this to Evans they sent out an exterminator who concluded that they were carpet beetles. I know for a fact that it was a lie. I even caught some myself to prove what they were but Evans refused to help get rid of the infestation even though they were the ones responsible for letting the trash move in in the first place.

Great rental service

Well they seem to be a pretty good realty company to me. Any issue we had, they had someone right out to take care of it. Theyve always been nice to me. I even sent them a Christmas card. I am quick to leave a negative review, and i mean quick. I am as just as fast to leave a good one.

If I could give them no stars I would. They are crooks! They sued me for back rent that they lost . Then when I won in court they still kicked me and my family out wanting that rent. I won cause I was right and had proof to back me up. They were just mad they lost.

Was looking for a place to rent. Spoke with a woman on the phone about a specific property and she told me it was available that I needed to come pay the application fee for the property and they could work on letting me rent it. Drove all the way up there from out of town to get there and then be told that the property had already been rented that day and the deposit had been paid but if I paid the application fee anyways they could help me find another place.

Without a doubt the worst slumlords there are. We rented from them for a year. We offered to sign a lease and even and extended lease, NO RESPONSE. Year three we arrived home from vacation to a letter giving is 25 days to vacate with no option of continuing to lease from them. Problems with anything about the house were met with long delays in getting their maintenance guy out to look at it, then weeks to repair anything. We moved in and the carpets had big wrinkles in them and dry rotted. The biggest problem was a raw sewage/septic smell after a rain, or high humidity day. The response from Evans, watch it for a few days, itll probably go away. If you can find ANYONE else to rent from, I highly advise doing so.

They will come out if something is broken

Very shady people who own and operate this company. We rented from them for 3 years, only to come home from vacation at the 3rd year to find a notice giving us 30 days to move out (when we received the letter, we actually only got 24-25 days to find another place and move out). Their explanation was the owner was no longer going to rent the house. Then, they sent us a listing of their current rentals. When we went to look at one of their properties on Chapel Drive in Lexington, NC, as soon as walked in, there was a terrible, overpowering musty, mold smell that started giving me a headache and I had to go outside to get some fresh air to keep from vomiting.....when we looked up at the ceiling in the kitchen, the kitchen tiles were covered in mold. We asked them if we decided to rent that property, would the mold issue be resolved and their response was, Well we can see what we can do, but there is no guarantee and the house is ready to be moved into now. Every time we called them about something breaking, it took them no less than 3-4 weeks to repair it. The garage door opener quit working one time and it took almost 4 weeks to repair it. Another time, the fridge wasnt working and it took them 3 weeks to repair that and when we called to check on the status of it being fixed, it was excuse after excuse. We lost 2 weeks worth of meat and other groceries because it took them so long to repair it. Another time, there was a sewer smell radiating throughout the house for 2-3 weeks and when we called them about it, their response was, Well just wait a couple more weeks and see if the smell goes away, because if we come out there, we are going to have to bill the homeowner for it. And when we moved in, they said that all their houses are cleaned prior to move in. Ours had nail and screw holes all in the walls, stuff left in the garage and closets, red kool-aid type stains on the carpet in every room of the house and the carpet coming in from the garage and going into the kitchen where the carpet met the linoleum was dry rotting it had been there so long. And dont even get me started on the RUDE office staff. They will not return your calls and they are always hateful when you call to ask them anything. This company and its employees are just gloried slum lords. Word of advice - DONt RENT FROM THEM!!!!

This place is a joke, they rent properties knowing they have flaws, and the refuse to fix them. Then they refuse to give you back your deposit.

My air conditioning has been broke Thursday Evans sent a repairman out Thursday told me that he would be back Friday to repair it Friday came and we were told that he had to order it and they had none in stock then we were told that he will be given a key and will come in Saturday and replacement we come home Saturday evening to a broken air conditioning weed called Monday morning and continuously whether or not its been ordered if he has to go pick it up its even been ordered when its coming in. Im very disappointed Evans properties treat the people that give them money because Im sure that if it was someone in the office is air conditioning that went out on Thursday that they would be just as upset and make sure their air was fixed.
