Equipment broken or lack repair. The studio speaker system has been busted for years and nobody bothers to fix or replace. Instructors have to bring in their own speaker system to teach class. This facility could definitely use a renovation. Id be willing to pay an extra monthly fee to have equipment in good working order.

Wide Range of Equipment, the sauna is pretty cool, however the gym smells terrible, the equipment is dirty, it took staff 6 months to fix a machine and has a gritty, gross feeling environment. It was built years ago but feels like a 1970s fever dream.Edit: it smells absolutely horrible outside the gym I know this isn’t about the gym but they are located right next to a sewage plant and it smells like disgusting I’ve thrown up in the parking lot one or two times it honestly is disgusting.

Decent gym, but has definitely gone down hill in the years Ive been here. Free weight area has rust on it, tons of missing weight stickers. They also reuse to turn ON THR AC IN THE SUMMER! They always say its broken or maxed out.... BS. Its the middle of summer, fix it or turn it on

Everything in GYM is nice except the time. During this summer it should be at least from 06:00am to 12:00am.I would like to ask the management to take this under consideration which is an important issue for members.

Been a member here since it opened and for the most part has been a great gym. But lately it has been dirty and a complete and utter mess - weights scattered everywhere first thing in the AM. The ownership obviously doesn’t care - this has the look and feel of a place about to go under.

My initial experience when visiting to learn about personal training was amazing. I got a tour of the place, learned about the facility, sat down to talk about goals and cost, and signed up for a membership and personal training that night. It was an impulsive decision on my end, so I decided to cancel the training contract the next day. I intended to keep the membership but after this experience I have had, I have canceled that as well. The staff has been pushy (especially during a call I received during the work day,) dishonest about timing of cancellation and availability to complete it, and unprofessional, taking my personal phone number off of my application without my permission to text me for personal matters unrelated to business. I hope my membership and training contract are cancelled and fully refunded after I did everything I needed to do on my part.

My training session was done and they continued to charge me. I called a dozen times and they never took care of it. Very poor management! They told me they would reimburse me and they never did. I had to reach out every time! It’s been over a year now! Not only did they take $800 from me and not reimburse me but they couldn’t even let me use the sessions to makeup for it. When I asked how they can fix it their reply was “I don’t know” really. Never using them again.

If you want to be charged erroneously then sign up! I canceled my membership during COVID of April 2020 and they continued to charge me until November. Dont even ask how difficult it was getting anyone to return my call. I finally received 2 months credited back to my American Express. Not enough. And recently they started billing me again! What fun! So I blocked them on my Amex and am going to NEVER join an LA Fitness again.

Id like to know why management is ignoring the maintenance of this location. I see tons to carpet patches used to avoid replacing the carpet, lots of broken machines, handle grips on most of the weighted machines that are worn out and need replaced.. the bathrooms are always filthy.. in the mens room where the hairdryer rests has been used as a trash can by members since this location has been open.. so if you look in the hole there is 5 years of trash stored up.. come on guys.. why are we paying membership dues if you wont invest any of it back into the gym? Ive talked to management.. written corporate.. and no forward progress has been made.. typical LAF

Clean facility and plenty of equipment. My only gripe is guests aren’t required to wear face masks at all times. I understand that it’s not a state requirement WHILE exercising but people generally aren’t wearing them at all while inside (unless walking by a staff member or the front desk).

Always plenty of room to work out, with covid has really upped the cleaning of the facility. never get put down all the customers and employees are willing to help each other. really like seeing everyone there and putting in the work. they are taking temperatures when you enter and extra spray bottles for the equipment and hand sanitizer stations set up around the gym.

This gym is average. It has all the machines you will need but they are very old and carpet is coming out from somep places. They allow kids without any adult supervision which is sometimes annoying as they just leave the weights wherever they want. I am going here as its the closest to my house

Understanding the challenges of operating a fitness center in the current environment is very important. LA Fitness in Leesburg does a great job. The facility is constantly being cleaned and theres a culture of caution and diligence that makes me feel safe from careless behavior. The staff is professional, courteous and always helpful.

Ernesto is not a very good GM. I certainly hope LA fitness leadership starts to consider the safety of the boomers by blocking out specific times for them in the clubs in general. The fact you dont have to wear a mask in here is beyond me. From a service stand point the previous GM Mike Moore was amazing and always took care of the customer. Speaking to Ernesto is like like talking to a robot. I really hope the leadership at LA fitness takes this review seriously.

I came into the Leesburg LA Fitness with questions about upgrading my standard membership to the signature club status and had the pleasure of speaking with Jomal. Not only was he friendly and professional, but very knowledgable and extremely helpful in determining the best solution for my needs.Ive had a handful of terrible experiences with fitness club salespeople who scam and cheat their way into making me pay more than I need. I knew Jomal had my best interests in mind when he let me know that upgrading would be more expensive than creating a new membership altogether. He took the time to compare plans and evaluate the most cost effective way for me to enjoy my LA Fitness membership.He set up my new account in minutes and then took the time to walk me through the app. Our conversation was insightful and easy, like talking to a friend. Been a member for over 20 years. Josh told me I have to pay 5$ every time I come in because my account started in Oregon. Nope. I stared with Golds, who was bought by Ballys and they were bought by LA Fitness.Longer the 20 years. Longer than Josh has been alive.. Calling Corporate because he says I am cheating the system when my card has been working since I moved to Virginia in November.

This gym is really good for the price. They have a large area for free weights, machines, and cardio equipment, lots of classes as well. They have a large locker rooms, sauna and a pool that is well sized for laps or classes. The workers here are nice and the clientele is good as well. Unlike many other less expensive gyms, it doesnt feel like a homeless shelter in the winter. The place is kept up pretty well and is clean and well organized.

LA fitness is a good place but I had a bad experiences with receptionist I was in town for a day I wanted to take a free pass which all LA fitness can get you on spot and you can use the facilities.. I wanted to play racket ball with my friend, he simply refused though my wallet was not with me he was keep insisting to pay $15 for day pass. Usually if you are new in town they get you weekly trial pass but one was worst

Had an absolutely horrid experience at this location on MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION DAY due to the insufferable attitude and general incompetence of an employee named Benjamin Friedman and the management. Their complete and utter lack of professionalism disturbed me, it was a vastly different experience from the various other LA Fitness locations I’ve visited. It all started when a friend of mine was denied entry despite having a Guest Pass and was forced to pay a $15 fee to enter FOR ONE DAY. When we met up with other gym goers at the basketball court, they informed us that they were able to enter for free with their passes. When we politely inquired about the passes and a possible refund at the front desk prior to leaving, we were redirected to an extremely rude, sarcastic, and snarky man named Benjamin Friedman who listened to our plight and looked at us disbelievingly the entire time. Instead of attempting to solve our issue, he decided that it’d be best to try and sell our friend a membership at a discounted rate despite our friend informing him that he doesn’t intend on becoming a member. He then proceeded to offer us a 3 day membership pass which we begrudgingly accepted so we could be on our way and relieve ourselves of his presence and condescending demeanor. While acquiring his pass, our friend was offered a membership two more times by Benjamin and he declined both times. As the process was coming to a close, Benjamin swore profusely at our friend and the man who sold him the 1 day pass joined Benjamin and our friend who didn’t want to further escalate the conflict as he has an anxiety disorder was intimidated into lying and agreeing with their horrible theory that we were lying to make his money back. He received the pass and we noticed it expires in 3 days instead of initiating a 3 day membership whenever he decided to use it. They don’t care about customer service at all at this location. We genuinely hope action is taken against these employees and that they are disciplined; until then, my friends and I are cancelling our memberships and looking elsewhere for a better gym experience which likely won’t be too difficult to find. This LA Fitness has a horrible reputation due to its incompetent management and its in desperate need of a change.

LA Fitness was the worst experience I have ever had with any business. They have scummy business practices that lock you into a contract or charge you extra because of some rules you are unaware of. They do not tell you everything you need to know as you make your account, everything is hidden in their contract and that is how they take your money. Their staff is not helpful at all. It took them 3 weeks to refund me $150 and it required me to make several phone calls a week to try to resolve the issue. Also, I believe the AC in this facility does not work, the basketball court is excruciating hot which leads to the most uncomfortable experience. I would avoid this gym at all costs. I only went to this gym because I am a college student and I needed a place to go for the summer. If do join this gym please listen to these tips:1. If you are a student that is home for the summer, purchase a 2-3 month paid-in-full membership. This way you avoid initiation fee and annual fees2. If you get a monthly payment membership, cancel your membership more than a month in advance. I was not aware of this and they charged me an extra month.Overall, AVOID THIS GYM! Go anywhere else but here it will save you the headache and it will help your wallet. I hope this helped.

While presenting to me all the amenities of the gym he recalled all the things i mentioned where important to me. I could genuinely feel his care for my success!

LA Fitness is literally the worst gym to commit to. I signed up for personal training because I wanted to become healthier and live a better life. But recently I lost my job and I am financially in a tough situation where Im struggling to pay rent. I spoke with Kyle the personal training sales associate and he told me there was no way I was able to cancel my contract even though he explained to me when I first decided to sign up that I was able to cancel the contract if I can show proof of job termination. Then I spoke to Alicia the manager of LA and she contradicted what Kyle said. After speaking with Kyle and Alicia I called Chris Gomez the District manager and he told me he was unable to do anything with me as well, so took the next step and called corporate and guess what? They also told me there was nothing they can do. So basically LA fitness would rather have their clients choose personal training over rent. I originally signed up for LA because they gave me this great sales pitch talking about how much they care for their customers. Now I know this is all a lie and the only thing they care about is money. And to think I originally wanted to freeze my account and continue training after I found another job, now I no longer want to be apart of LA Fitness period.

All Leesburg needs is a halfway decent option and this place will be shuttered. In the morning there is tons of trash from the unsupervised night before, but as a bonus, morning crew gets their feet disinfected when they clorox-mop the showers at 6:15am when everyone is using them

Super friendly, super helpful. Some stuff is outdated and it doesnt have everything but you can get a good workout with whats there. Nice atmosphere in the olapl all around.

I recently joined L.A. Fitness and have been thoroughly impressed with the place. The facility is top notch and the management is great. I know there have been complaints about some of the staff in the past, but I can honestly say that the gym must have made a change for the better since that time.I had my iPhone and a pair of expensive headphones stolen from me today. I notified management immediately and made them aware of who I thought was the likely culprit. Management responded quickly and made several phone calls. Ultimately, the thief returned to the gym with my belongings. I could tell that they really cared. Great gym, great management, and very reasonable rates. If youre looking for a gym in or near Leesburg, look no further.

Update: much better about keeping equipment in working order, just replaced two machines entirely with much a much nicer version..............Roughly 10 peices of equipment have a sign that reads scheduled for service ... theyre not. Those signs have been there for weeks. How on earth do you have a bench press out of order for 3 weeks? And the employees will come around and ask for friends and family info so they can harass them about joining.

The gym is DISGUSTING. I have been in a lot of gyms. Many of which had no AC. This gm HAS AC and it always smells like body odor of ALL KINDS. The free weights have an odor that you can smell from across the room and it sticks to your hands after you are done using them. Sometimes I cant even use the back part of the gym because of the smell and sticky feeling on everything. GROSS

So Ive been a member since 2013 and before that in summers when I would come back from College. Ive never had a billing or membership issue until this week. I contacted the LA Fitness Team in Leesburg who directed me to the Operations Manager Ron. Not only did Ron do all he could to possible remediate the issue, he insured that it would be solved ASAP. I would recommend for any issues to talk to Ron, and if its within his capabilities, he will provide potent results.

Iv been going there for years now and i brought a friend in to get a membership there. I was extremely happy the way Kristine (my apologies if i spelled her name wrong) greeted us. Took my pass for his week trial, showed great service to help him get setup and showed us around the facility for him to check out his new gym. She knew the place very well. Overall great experience with Kristine and helping a new member to the facility. I will be recommending people to her for a membership there.

The only thing good about this place is that it is close to my house and that is why I give it one star. Other than that it is a horrible customer services. They welcome you when you come to subscribe then they forget about you, then they treat you as one of their machines with no respect. Then if you try to cancel you have to build some nerves before you do so. First it is difficult to find a manager who can do it. The manager is always not available. Try to call them and you will listen to the most unprofessional people on earth. They give you the impression that they are always ready to finght. You must have a document from them validating your cancellation or they will keep withdrawing the membership from your bank account the rest of your life. It happened that I sat down with the manager and I cancelled one account and added another. However, they kept both accounts for four months when I asked them why you withdraw money from my account although I cancelled the account the manager said although I requested the cancellation, I declined to sign the form, what kind of logic is this? I think all staff in this facility need to get through Customer Relationship Management training, otherwise customers consider this is the policy of La Fitness and for sure the place will shutdown in few years. It is funny that they do not accept cancellation over the phone, but when I faced them with facts and I told them I will come over to meet with the manager with whom I cancelled the membership they said fine. Then immediately they sent cancellation email which is not supposed to happen according to their policy. This means they implicitly convinced that this membership was cancelled and they were charging me for four months while it is cancelled. This place needs to be fixed.

The gym itself is fine, the staff are fine, I have no complaints regarding the equipment and such. My only real complaint is that the room with the punching bags is constantly taken up, even late into the night by classes. So if you are like me and part of your workout involves using the punching bag, then you are sort of screwed, as there are no other areas in the gym with punching bags.I used to be able to wait until classes ended around 8pm but now theres another class they added and now the room is not even available until 9pm and its really depressing.There really needs to be a separate room with the punching bags.

Horrible customer service, I was talking to my wife in front of the person who claims to be the GM. I told my wife I told you we should have stayed at golds gym. The manager rudely intruded and said yes you should have stayed there. What kind of business is this. The worst customer service ever. Run away go to any gym but this.I added this line a month after my comment above, and here is why: they wouldnt let you cancel your membership unless you go in the store. Guess what? We went three times and they told us only an operations manager can cancel memberships. You have to comeback between 9-5 Monday to Friday. They are buying time basically not to cancel our membership so they keep charging our CC. My advice again RUN!!! This is a big scam.

First I would like to start off by mentioning how terrible this facility is. The management is SO bad they seem like a bunch of idiots running this establishment. The associates here are also terrible at there job and also tend to go and lift weights while they are SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING! The equipment is never cleaned and the place is over capacity especially at the times when people get off. If you are really looking for a true gym you should look at Golds Gym in Ashburn, they have a great facility that looks way better than this place. Also the workers are probably more educated in customer service which this place has absolutely none. If you think this is biased it isnt, I have been coming here for about 3 months and finally concluded that this place is a shitty gym. They also spit in your face with the amount you have to spend on initiation to join and a terrible $30 a month. I hate this place, I hope people realize how shitty it is. Also those personal trainers they have are terrible they literally know nothing about exercise all they have are certificates which literally mean nothing because anyone can get one. Look online for tips to lose weight or gain muscle its up to you on how you want to spend your money.

Things have improved a lot in recent months. My husband and I are members and not committed to a personal training contract and it serves our needs very well. There is none of that unprofessional behavior on the training floor like there was before. The music is not blaring. I find that management is improved and listening more to the customers.

If you want a workout, go see Freddie. He is the best thing thats happened since I joined the gym. His workouts are REAL workouts. He pays attention to his clients, makes sure they are doing each workout correctly and recognizes that not everyone can do the same workout, weights, reps, etc. LA Fitness needs Freddie to train their so-called trainers because they dont have a clue. They are new, they are young and inexperienced.

Rude management team and horrible customer service, they really dont care about helping their clients or solving any issues. There is always out of order equipment, they dont even care of putting up a sign even when they are informed, not enough medium or heavy weight for group classes. Often they run out of paper towel and dont even care to refill. The only reason I use this gym is for its convenient and being close to my house.

Its an ok gym with a variety of equipments and weights. Unfortunately, things are not well maintained, with some machines missing parts (ex: cable machines missing the pins for the weights). Also a shame that so many gym goers are clueless and in the way, often leave their weights behind, or put weights back in the wrong space. Overall, it just seems like it has the potential for a great gym, but has an annoying customer base and staff who dont seem to care.

I would give the place 5 stars for the cleaning people who are ALWAYS working to keep the place clean and machines wiped down! It’s a gross gym other than that. The air is extremely stagnant and hard to breathe. I brought my 15 year old one day with me and he was having a very hard time breathing and said his chest felt tight. There are wet, drooping tiles on the ceiling - I confronted them about it a while back because mold can grow easily. They replaced the tiles, but the new ones are wet and drooping now too. You can’t put a band-aid on a water leak - particularly in a place where people are breathing hard and trying to be healthy. It’s time to move on - I tried to tolerate it as long as I could but my health is more important to me than a cheap-priced membership.

It took me since they opened...Im stubborn...I just cant take any more incompetence.I just cancelled 4 family memberships plus personal training...they cant keep their billing straight...double charge, double charge on personal training! It has taken 10 weeks to try to straighten stuff out...but, I keep getting charged double under 2 accounts when I only wanted 1 account...and they charge multiple times per month! They just refer to a different person and charge again!Lets face it...the place is way too crowded. They have oversold and under-delivered! The aerobic equipment is broken; treadmills and ellipticals get used and break...but, they do NOT get repaired.The bathrooms and locker rooms stink and are not clean.There are only a few personal trainers worth their price. Most are doing contra-indicated movements with clients who are not ready. They lack personal assessment and customized workouts based on the client and personal abilities...thats somewhat obvious to someone who has trained others in the past. So, not really personal trainers.They are high volume, high impact, and high noise

You can join but you can never leave. Moved out of the area, they dont allow cancellations digitally or over the phone for your security and required you to download and print a form for each family member then snail mail it to California. It was easier to cancel my debit card than my membership. Which is what I did. Thats when the harassing phone calls started with lots of fees. If you can join another gym, do it.

I love it because of the stair master and kids club. However, its been a couple weeks and 3 stair masters that are broken have not been fixed. This is my second time joining as a member and my biggest complaint is how long it takes them to fix stuff. Staff and everything else is ok.

There is a good variety of fitness classes and cardio machines. I have never found that there were not enough machines to accommodate the amount of customers. Place was generally pretty clean. I had a difficult time canceling my membership as you have to physically come in during business hours, but I was able to make arrangements. Could improve by adding Wifi!

RUN FROM THE PERSONAL TRAINING DEPARTMENT! I love LA FITNESS and have been please with my membership, however I recently signed up for what I thought was 90 days of PT with manager Joshua King at the Leesburg, VA site, as I begun to approach the end of my PT sessions I called in to speak with Josh and was told not only had he moved on but I was signed up for one year of PT. I advised that my agreement was for 90 days and was told that couldnt be so as LA FITNESS does not provide 90 day PT programs. To this date NO ONE FROM MANAGEMENT HAS CONTACTED ME TO ADDRESS THE FRAUDLENT PLAN I WAS CONED INTO! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM

The gym itself is beautiful and I love the fitness classes! BUTMy boyfriend and I just joined the gym. ON MY FIRST DAY at the gym one of the staff members TOOK A PHOTO OF ME while I was working out. I was in the room (I dont know what the room is called) it was the little room with mirrors right next to the stairs. So when I was working out in the room and I see the staff member in the mirror walking back and forth with his phone in his hand looking at me then at his phone. (he did this 4 times) My gut was telling me he was gonna take a photo of me so I kept watching him. Then he stopped pacing back and forth and tilted his phone up in my direction and I saw his thumb tap on the screen of his phone and then he quickly brought his phone down and then he looked directly at me. When he looked at me all I wanted to do was to give him the bird but I didnt. When I was done working out I went to the front desk and asked the staff member ( different staff member) what is their policy on taking photos of people without their consent. He said with a blank face I dont know At that point I wanted to scream but I did inform that one of his coworkers took of photo of me while I was working out and all he said was oh sorry.. I dont know with a blank face. Now every time I go to the gym Im always checking my surrounding to make sure that the guy (staff member) isnt around me because he made me feel really uncomfortable. Like why did you need to take a photo of me? why did you need that photo? what were you gonna do with that photo? why were you pacing back and forth like a creep while I was working out? It made me feel so uncomfortable and all I wanted to do is to go to the gym......it just sucks to feel this way.

I go every weekday morning at 5. There is plenty of space to get your workout in. A little short on some weight lifting equipment. ; no kettlebells, no trap bar, limited racks and benches. That said you can find substitutes and get it done. The customer base is as any gym. A mix of serious training people, daily exercisers and a few gym posers. Thats fine. I just do my thing. Slightly unorganized, it seems like a free for all as to where equipment gets put away or just left away but thats ok too. You just have to have some patience. Overall good experience.

The equipment is good and has a good variety. However, the customer service, with the one that calls himself a GM of the facility, is almost zero. Wonder how in this day and age a business can run long term with such insensitive customer focus.

The gym is clean and they have staff working to clean it throughout the day. There are times when the weights are all over the place but that is because members dont care. I dont talk to the staff so cant comment on how friendly they are.They have scanning devices that are sometimes on the counter but during peak times, they take your card, that is usually attached to your keys, and scan it for you. I can scan my own card and all this does is slow the process down.LA fitness beats that purple gym anyway. Here you can actually make a little noise and carry a water bottle.Canceling any gym membership is a pain so dont expect these guys to make it easy on you.

The weight area smells very moldy and humidity permeates that same area, making it hard to breath.They only have one incline bench and one decline bench. The water fountains hardly work, and when they do, they let out warm and metallic tasting water. The gym is in desperate need of an update and I would reccomend you stand near the dumbell racks and inhale before committing to a contract here.Message to management: clean the weight area, install humidifiers, and update the scent of the gym. Although a generic waiver of liability is included in the initiation contract, it does not cover you if someone were to develop breathing and respiratory issues from the conditions. A reasonable person does not assume such risk when contracting w/ a gym.CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT AND REFRESH AIR.

Family went into LA Fitness today and had the worst greeting by front desk staff ever. This added to the fact that the showers were inoperable/ You would think they would be a little cheerier when they cannot even provide the amenities that are promised. Humble Pie needs to be served here. So the question. SHOULD WE STAY? Or is it @lifetime we will go.

I am a very straight male and was hit on by gay men numerous times that frequent this club...especially in the locker room. I guess they see this as kind of a pick-up spot for them. Was very annoying to have to deal with this and I complained to a manager and he told me the next time it happens to complain to whoever is working there.The only problem is whenever I have been there, there are no available employees to be found; no one a the front desk is ever there to check people in & could never find anyone in the offices except maybe one person but they always had someone with them.Is was as if the employees had deserted the place. I switched to another gym for this reason. Straight men beware of this place as it is a hunting grounds for gay men and you will probably have them make advances towards you.

This place is filthy. Debris on the floor left for days. Its clear they dont sweep. And if they dont sweep, this means they dont mop or disinfect. The one young guy pushing around a broom stares at his phone and is clearly there for the free workouts. Management needs to hire full time janitorial crew for both Mens and Ladys locker rooms. In a relatively affluent county, this establishment is an embarrassment.

Kind of small. Most of the space is dedicated to pool, racket ball, and basketball court - not leaving much room for cardio and weight equipment. It gets busy. Not enough of each machine - especially the popular ones... and theyre always broken. Some of the machines are rusty (weird, I know) and need updating (the TVs are the worst Ive ever seen). Their only saving grace is the price of the membership and the pool/sauna combo. It is kind of concerning that there arent more sanitation areas (and they arent very well placed, either).

I like the classes also they really help motivate me personally. I also felt I wasnt pressured into joining. I was there to stay healthy & still am there to this day. Ive been a member for over a year. I recommend the leesburgh location to anyone that wants a new, clean & friendly gym.

So Ive been going here for a while but I finally moved on. This gym was good, then once they realized they were the only gym in Leesburg really they went down hill quick. When stuff breaks it stays broken for a while, a lot of the cardio equipment is old as dirt and if it functions it doesnt function well. Stuff is just dirty constantly, the people who use it dont clean up after themselves and the cleaning staff just cant keep up. When its hot outside its really hot inside and when its cold outside its cold inside which is not what you want... Keep your money and go elsewhere to Ashburn or One Loudoun.

Unprofessional staff. Tried to cancel my membership, was unable to over the phone instead had to come in between 9 and 5 Monday through Friday. That is hard being I work 8 to 6. Then told that they would email me the cancellation form. This never happened. So I came in between 9 and 5 and the person that I needed to talk to was not here. A waste of space the staff is. Would not even make sure that the person would be back in time. If you have other options choose the other options before wasting your money on this place.
