Never been to this place before and Made an appointment around noon then immediately got in. The hair stylist was a wonderful person(forgot her name). I showed her what I wanted and she made it happen. She made me feel welcome for my very first visit. She is professional, friendly. She asked me if that’s how I wanted or we needed to add more layers. And we did. I enjoyed her service and I will be back.Ps: This is just the haircut.

I just had my first reiki energy session with Tyler and he did an amazing job! More people should be aware and open to energy work. He has an amazing talent and it was very relaxing.I also love getting my nails and hair done here too. The employees are the best!

Today I went in to cut my hair for the first time in 18 years. I was planning on cutting it fairly short. I gave Gretta an idea of what I was looking (which wasnt much as I had no idea what would look best). She was amazing. I was extremely scared and worried about doing this cut. She made me feel super excited and comfortable from beginning to end. She gave me a detailed idea of what she was going to do and explained every step to me. I even explained how I wasnt very good at hair and not prone to doing my hair every day. She went over how best to style my hair for me and what products and tools she would recommend depending how much I wanted to do. Thank you so much Gretta for making one of the scariest decisions Ive made into one of the best ones. I feel like a new person!

Prices advertised on their website are not honored. They are higher. Prices are specifically laid out for color based on hair length. An all over color for short hair is listed at $69. I needed one color on my roots only. I assumed based on their price list that it would be less than $69 because it was only for the roots. I was charged $76. I was then charged $14 for a bang trim which I did not get. I paid $100 for a $35 value service. I was refunded only $21. I specifically chose a junior designer to keep the price down. I believe it is against the law to not honor advertised price. I have taken pictures of their website and plan to report to the Better Business Bureau.

My siblings and I bought three massage gift certificates for Mothers Day. When my sister called to schedule her massage, she was told that they are not offering massages right now. My brother called to see if we could get a refund for the massages so those we gifted them to could get a massage elsewhere. They refused to give him a refund and stated that the gift certificates can be used on other services. We are all very upset that we spent a good amount of money for a specific service that was advertised on their website only to be told they are not offering it and they will not give us a refund. None of us will be using this salon again.

I am from the tiny town of Paradise California. My town burnt down in the came fires at the end of 2018. Our town consisted of 1 hair salon. I went to that salon for 10 years. Since relocating I was afraid of anyone else touching my hair. Here it is 2 years later and I have found KYLIE the best hair colorist ever. She did my hair so good that I will never see anyone else.. THANKS FOR MAKE ME FEEL COMFY AND DOING A FAST BETTER JOB THEN I THOUGHT COULD BE DONE.. Your the best.

I came here to get a cut, and darken my hair slightly. I wanted one level darker, with some ashy tones. My hair is literally black now. Not to mention it cost nearly $200 for it. I will never come here again, and will tell my friends to not waste their money.

Love this salon! I have gone here the past year after being butchered by another local spot. Meredith was able to fix the mess I was left with and groomed my hair back to health. Have been a loyal customer ever since and recommended several people there who have all had amazing cuts too. You cant go wrong with any of the stylists.

I left with pretty much the same color I went in with, when I wanted something completely different. Didnt cut my undercut straight, its all jagged and didnt realize this until after I had paid and left. Edit- not even a full 2 days later, my hair is the same color it was before. Faded and red. Never going here again, and definitely will not be recommending it ever.

We had a great experience at Grassroots! They were able to easily accommodate our timeframe for an appt. And Angela did an amazing job on my daughters haircut. We have a new favorite place to get our hair did!

I came in to get my color done, and that came out amazing. Though the styling after was tragic, I don’t know if the stylist was in a rush or what it was, but I have naturally curly hair and wear it straight and she lefts the roots totally unfinished (looked terrible). I had to come home and redo my hair, which is just annoying and inconvenient considering I had just been at the salon. Once I came home and restyles I realized the trim she gave me on my face framing pieces were completely uneven. Going to another salon closer to home to have them simply adjust it. Sad because I truly loved the color, everything else was just super disappointing.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I had an appointment with Kristen yesterday for a cut and color and ended up with thin, holey, shelved hair. I wish she wouldve just said she wasnt comfortable or rescheduled with a different stylist. I guess they dont know how to work with thicker hair. I have no choice to cut my hair up to my ears to take care of the haircut from hell. I wasted $350 for them to say - let her do more!

I had an appointment for a pedicure scheduled. Called a week in advanced. The salon texted two days before my appt and asked if I could come 30 mins later, which was not a problem. Then the day of my appointment they call 30 mins before is about to start ( I am headed out the door by this time) and they ask if I can push it back again! The nail tech was running behind. There was no accommodation besides coming in later. I felt this was very unprofessional to reschedule twice!

I came in needing some emergency help ...i had just had surgery and while recovering I had acquired a really bad snarl in my hair close to my scalp I had worked on it for 2days and could not get it out so it was Monday and I had a Dr. Apt at 1 so after 1 last attempt at washing it out. I had to make an emergency appt Kyle got me right in she had to cut all my hair off but she cut it into a really cute A line that I really like!! I had called her with only an hour to kill b4 my appt. She was fast and did a great job and I was on time for my appt. Thank you Kyle for the great job and I will be back. You did awesome!!

Quoted me an amount to get my hair dyed and cut, ended up being TWICE that saying they used extra dye. Well maybe you wouldn’t have used extra dye if you CUT my hair first before dying it. But no you dyed it then cut it. Never coming here again.

This is the only salon I go to that I trust. Ive gotten my makeup done for big events, hair dyed too many times to count, eyelashes and massages. Im very particular about where I go and Im never disappointed when I go here. It is so relaxing and a beautiful spa. Everyone is great at their job. I wouldnt recommend an initial eyelash treatment because its way too expensive, but the work is still amazing. However the fills are reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone

I normally do not write reviews but I am starting to so people get an honest insight into a place. I went in about 4 weeks ago to get my hair cut and colored and was very disappointed by the customer service provided to me by the stylist I got, Jane. I really wanted to like this place so much too, because I loved the atmosphere when I walked in and they had a nice set up. I just honestly did not like my hairstylist Jane. I wish she was more tentative to what I wanted. I told her caramel balayage and when the final product came out it was nothing like caramel and more of a blonde. I was so disappointed, but was so frustrated I just wanted to hurry and pay and leave. I will give it one more try but will never have Jane as a stylist.

My experience with Grassroots Salon & Spa was OUTSTANDING!!! I had my previous hair stylist cancel on me late the night before I was supposed to get my Engagement pictures taken. Needless to say I was in a panic. I needed to find a place that could get me in way last minute that was also open on Sundays. I called the salon and explained to them my situation, how I needed an all over hair color and a cut but that I had a really tight budget and very little time. They got me in the next morning as soon as they opened (day of the engagements.) My stylist name was Ramona and I cannot express enough how absolutely amazing she was. She was extremely polite, quick, and understanding of my situation. She made sure to explain all of my options and their hair products before doing anything to my hair, that way I had a full understanding of all the products being put into my hair and their price differences. They even did a style for me as I no longer had the time to do it myself at home. I am planning on going back to them to redo my hair for my wedding day as they have more then earned my complete trust and faith in their customer care and the quality of out come.

I’ve been wanting to change my hair for a while but have always been a bit hesitant in case it ended up looking worse than before or I wouldn’t be 100% happy with the change. I have dark hair and I wanted to lighten it up but the process to do that had me so worried my hair would come out dry and damaged and not the color I was going for at all. However, Larynn works pure magic at this place and I am over the moon with how my hair turned out! She is a miracle worker, plain and simple. I will never trust anyone else with my hair ever again! This place is truly wonderful. Everyone is friendly, it’s incredibly clean, and again, Larynn is amazing! 100 stars if I could, but I guess 5 is the most I can!

My experience was horrible I went to have a consultation with the girl that was going to do my hair showed her a picture she said that she could do it when I went to my appointment my hair looked nothing like my picture. Call the next day The manager was very nice she had me come in and see another girl she fixed it as good as she could I will not be going back. I paid alot of money I guess it was a very expensive lesson .

I got a mens haircut from Elena and it was amazing. Complete with a massage, facial, hot towel, and advice on product for my hair. It is a great environment with very helpful workers. I would definitely recommend going to Elena for any needs if you want it done right the first time.

Tiffani is the best stylist! She is so talented and any color shes done has been perfect! She invests lots of her own time and money into learning all the new techniques and styles. Shes very particular so my hair always ends up better than I can imagine, no matter what style or length my hair is. BTW: Tiff is also the best at shaping eyebrows.

I booked a massage for both my husband and myself with Heather at Grassroots Aveda Salon in Layton this afternoon in hopes that we could get something in the time slots I needed with little expectation in mind. I cannot even begin to tell you what a fabulous massage this was! Heather was so nice and skilled. Talk about an awesome value, aroma therapy, stones and an amazing full body massage, we got it all! My husband’s experience was as good as mine! If you want to treat yourself to perfection this salon and Heather will meet and go beyond your expectations. We loved it so much we booked our next one right as soon as we stepped out of our massage. Thank you so much Heather!!

I came in for an updo for a wedding. I called late the night before and was very impressed that they were actually able to book me an appointment for 9am the next morning. Everyone I interacted with on the phone and in person were professional, very polite, and helpful. The salon itself looks very nice; clean, open, well lit, pretty decor. I saw Samantha and she did an excellent job with my hair. I felt the prices were reasonable for the service offered. I wish I could come here regularly but we are from out of state.

I dont think there hot stone are worth what they charge. They just put them in the hot towel cabie and they dont have enough to do two people at the same time. But they dont say that. When you walk in its loud it is a salon as well. And they didnt close the door to the spa part all the way when they put us back there so it was loud. The atmosphere in the actually spa rooms is really nice. The sitting area is really dirty though dust everywhere. For what your paying and what your getting isnt worth it. There was plenty of parking and mine and my husbands massage Therapist where good. I just wasnt impressed with the spa at all.

I had a super good experience. I went in like I think 4 months ago. I believe I had the stylist Romona. I can’t quite remember, but i can in wanting to color my hair. I kinda had an idea what I wanted and Romona helped me make a decision. I got an Hombre with the color Magenta. It was SOOOOOOO pretty! Usually the color washes out in a month. BUT my hair is still very vibrate. I get compliments everywhere I go about my hair. I love it!!

I went here for the first time and it was wonderful. They gave me the best advice on health issues and problems and overall it was so relaxing... To even prove a bigger point.. I was waiting on my ride afterwards and was messing on my phone and I had dropped it on the concrete face first... I picked it up and looked at it and saw the entire screen is now cracked..... But I didnt get angry.. I didnt throw my phone or cuss up a storm.... I was still completely relaxed that I just stared at my phone for two minutes and didnt get angry... These girls are good at their job :)

I spent 4 1/2 hours sitting in a chair to wind up with a dye job I do not like, AND hair dye stained on my FACE. I had hair dye on my scalp and face for over an hour and a half. It caused my scalp to scab and be sore to the touch. I went to the bathroom and tried to wash the dye from my face since the stylist didnt seem to care. When she was finished with the color and drying my hair, I told her I didnt really like the color, and I felt like she ignored me. She cut my hair and was styling it when I told her again I wasnt happy with the color. She added a few more highlights, rinsed the pieces of hair, dried the wet spots and sent me on my way. Im not a confrontational person so I didnt say anything AGAIN. I left and cried in my car. I do not like my hair, but I could not stand to be there any longer. I used to be a big fan of this place, but after this horrible experience Im not sure Ill be back.

My hairstylist Charlene used to be amazing. I loved her, and would often daydream about going in, having her do my hair, and tipping her an enormous amount of money. I was incredibly excited when I got to go in. I wouldnt have been so eager had I known that old amazing Charlene was gone, and was now incredibly distracted, and didnt know how to cut hair anymore. Not only did she make my hair uneven, and COMPLETELY butchered my mom, I knew that I could never have my amazing hairstylist back. Also, the store refused to give us a refund, and might as well have said that they couldnt fix our hair. Everybody in the store is incredibly judge mental, even though you are spending $200 on your hair. Do yourselves a favor and dont make the same mistake I did.

My daughter went in to have her hair colored yesterday, Kylie was the person helping her. My daughter showed her the color she wanted and she was told ok. Kylie completely missed the back underneath of her hair, its splotchy, and is nothing like she wanted. When weve called the salon the manager wont talk to us, Kylie then said that her hair was too dark and that she could dye it dark brown which is not the color that she wanted or wants. If my daughters hair was too dark then why didnt Kylie tell her this before doing anything. They wont refund the money, answer our calls, nothing. Has to be the worst business ever! If I could give them negative stars I would!!!!!

I love this Salon, Ive been coming here for years. The products are really natural, while smelling great. The stylists here are always fluent in the newest techniques & styles.

The first time I went, I had a great experience for a haircut without issues. During my second visit with the same stylist, she burned my hair with a straight iron trying to curl it. I walked away with crunchy hair that I thought would get better after being washed. It didnt get any better and my shower smelled like burned hair. I called back to ask what Im supposed to do about my dry, fried hair from an honest mistake from the stylist and was told to buy their repair products. I didnt get much help or support, so I wont be going back there again.

Its a lovely spa, and the staff are always gracious and nice. My daughters haircut on this last visit was pretty bad, though. She brought in a photo of what she was wanting, which was a more androgynous cut with length on the top, and came out looking like she was going into the military. I talked to the manager, who was apologetic and listened, but there wasnt much to be done other than coming in to have the cut, cut. Not really an option, when the cut is a short one & already too short. Perhaps its just coincidence or timing, but weve had a rash of meh cuts for the last visits weve had there. This last cut had my daughter in tears and out buying hats to cover it until it grows out. I am glad to hear most people have a great stylist, but we have yet to feel that. At this point, I think we will be trying to find a place that can listen, ask questions, if necessary, and feel confident in delivering the cut we ask for.

I love coming here and its the only place Ill go to get my hair done. The stylist I go to does an amazing job every single time and always takes the time to listen to what I want and does just that. It is such a calm, welcoming environment that makes you feel so positive. I will never go to any other salon!

4 stars for my pedicure, 2 stars for my shellac manicure. My mother-in-law, who lives in Roy, met me here to get a manicure and a pedicure before my wedding. The girls performing the services were nice, but seemed a bit tired (we scheduled 7pm appointment). There was some confusion about the shellac application, as only one of the two girls knew how to apply shellac French tips, even though we scheduled to have this service performed. The girls ended up tag-teaming our nails,which took quite a while. I had to ask to have lotion applied and massaged into hands in a way that most salons do when you pay for a manicure. My shellac only looked good for about a week. The shellac started separating from my nails about a week after getting the service. I should have called and complained right away, but I didnt want to drive to Layton to get them fixed so I figured it wasnt that big of a deal. This morning, my hair got stuck between my shellac and my nail bed while I was washing it. It was painful and now I am afraid water is getting stuck and that bacteria might be growing. It looks as if there are bubbles under 5 of my nails because the shellac is separating so badly. I called and see if there was any sort of warranty on the services, but supposedly most people re-do their shellac every 2-3 weeks (which is much shorter than the 3-4 weeks I was quoted at other places) and I waited too long to call and complain about the service. Ive had shellac applied to my nails before (Real Shellac, not gel polish) and Ive never experienced this. I honestly think the shellac they applied was old. I wouldnt recommend their shellac service, but the pedicure was nice (although mine was about 10 minutes shorter than my MILs).
