Great barbershop - newly renovated, the place looks and feels great!!! Basim, the owner, is one of THE BEST barbers that Ive come across through the years - I highly recommend PhD Salon for a great haircut.

I was able to be seen on short notice and received an excellent haircut. The haircut was quick and turned out really well.

Crazy cause I always drive past this shop . But today I went thought they where closed but this man asked if I needed a cut I said yes. He took me right in got his station ready and hooked me up. I appreciate that since I was a walk in .

I started using this shop before I moved to this area. This is a basic barber shop. I have not seen the salon portion. Ihave been exclusively using Naim Outlaw for the past 8 years. He is an excellent master barber. Ask for him or call ahead and set an appt.

I’ve taken my son to PHD Barber on Main Street in Laurel since he was 2 years old for haircuts. Unfortunately, now that he’s in his early twenties the service at PHD Barber has declined. On Monday, July 15, 2019, my son went to get his cut and since we both had a large amount of errands to run we were pressed for time, so we went early enough to beat the crowd ( figured a Monday mid morning hair cut wouldn’t take long but it did) We walked in and didn’t get acknowledged, we were ignored by the staff, overlooked when other customers walked in and serviced before us. Since we were undervalued we walked out after being dismissed for almost 2 hours of patiently waiting. The worst part was when one of the barbers left for an 1 hour, and returned with his child. So on top of bad service, the staff will run personal errands while the barbershop waiting area is filled with customers.Be warned that you will be brushed off and disregarded as a customer to the point that you are driven out by the unfriendly environment you will be exposed to, and belittled to finally give up and walk out the door with no respect to your time from this (for a lack of better words) “establishment”.

Good cuts and kid friendly. Ask for Mr. Bassim. He gets you fresh and tight.

Moved to Laurel from DC and was looking for a barber so I wouldnt have to drive all the way back for a cut. Shannon cut my hair the first time at PhD and hes been doing it since.

Sat there over an hour and the guy told me he doesnt know me. Will not recommend.Poor customer service
