Awful! Awful awful! Avoid at all costs. Came here because they had the best price. Big mistake. NTB incorrectly installed four new tires. Made two visits to have the tires rebalanced. Visit one, no employees were available to work that day, despite my appointment. Second time, had car ALL day, went in at closing and it hasnt been touched. We only have one guy working. No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience, terrible customer service.

I wish I could leave a negative 1 star. Had an appointment early in the morning after seeing a decent price for one tire online for $84.99, then was told that tire wasnt in store and could be picked up from another location, provided that he had another person there. As a contingency plan, I went with a slightly higher priced tire of $99.99, since the location was 3 minutes from my house...only to get a call back minutes later after scheduling a tow to the shop to find out that their ONLY technician scheduled called out for the day. Therefore, I couldnt get my tire replaced. So, I had to go to thr dealership and pay an additional $75 for my tire. My daily plans have been severely altered!! They will NEVER get any of my business. Dont just walk, RUN from these jokers...total inconvenience and B.S.!!!

Very informative with my inquiries and requests. Brian helped out with answering my questions over the telephone while John was extremely patient with my inquiry and requests in person. Turn around time was a bit long but it is expected when waiting for car repairs. Highly suggest making an appointment and being flexible.

I am a former Service Manager for NTB in Germantown and Gaithersburg. On May 28, 2021 My husband took his 2015 Audi Q5 to the Laurel location because its the closest one to us and we wanted to give them our business. First, even with an appointment, it took hours to get the vehicle in the bay. I went and picked my husband up to run some errands while we waited and finally went back a couple hours later to see if the vehicle was ready. We get to the store and the vehicle is still up in the air and asked where they were with the service. We were then told that the oil drain plug was stripped and the only way they can get it out was to destroy my oil pan! I went and took a picture of the drain plug and it was indeed stripped. They blamed the last person that changed the oil which was another NTB. I am not going to blame either location because it could have been the previous location or Laurel trying to get it off. The parts are not expensive anyway. My concern is the level of customer service that was given. It was unacceptable to not have any call during the time that our vehicle was at the shop advising us on the situation. What made it worse is that I get a call the day after telling my car is ready to pick up when I already had my car. As a former manager of NTB, this is not the level of customer service that we encourage our associates to provide our customers. From now on, I will drive the 30 minutes to one of the locations I used to work at because I know that they will provide the service I need!

I came in expecting a Tune Up, but as what usually happens, I had other issues with my Mazda CX9, I also needed Front Rotors and a Fluid flush. But my vehicle is old and needs the up keep. NTB is pretty cool and they do good work.

I made an appointment on line for this location in laurel, md. When I got there they stated that they didn’t have an appointment for me. I asked them if they could out of customer satisfaction if they could take me. They replied No! I’m a manager of a retail location and I make it happen for my customers even if it means me staying late. I guess all managers aren’t alike. I put my customers first!

We visibly saw that we had run over a screw in the middle of the tread on an almost new tire, which caused a flat. We took the tire to AAA Laurel, MD to have it plugged. AAA Laurel called us back a few minutes later (before we even drove out of the parking lot, so there is no way they had time to properly check the tire out) and told us they could plug the place where the screw was, but we also had a hole in the sidewall, which would require us to buy a new tire from them. Something did not sound right to us so we picked up the car and went straight to NTW on Route 1 in Laurel, MD.NTW gave us a price for a new identical tire so we would not have to buy two new tires to make them match. However, after doing a visual look at the tire, they immediately suggested to let them try to plug the tire first before buying a new tire. They (like us) could not see anything wrong with the sidewall.We left the tire and car with them to try the patch first. When we went back to pick it up, they didn’t charge us anything! They went above and beyond to help us and saved us a lot of money. We have been buying new tires at this location for years and have always had outstanding service and reasonable prices. We highly recommend this honest business and will continue to use them in the future.

When I asked for a tire rotation I forgot to ask for a balance and alignment and it was never offered to me even though its included in my tire purchase. Then, when I asked at the end, I was told that Id have to make a completely different appointment. Its understandable but frustrating, especially after the employee Kirk told me that it was slow and he hopes it stays that way, then he tells me he cant help. I also got an oil change and they failed to put the sticker on my window for the mileage. Overall just pretty disappointed and will probably be going to a different location next time.

Every since I moved to Laurel there’s only a couple of places where I receive excellent customer service and premium work performance. NTB in Laurel is one of those places. Andrew is a superb Store Manager, he’s well organized, always on point with appointments and know what you need to do to your car on the next visit. Horrible NTB experience. I booked an appointment online, but when I arrived my appointment had not been booked. The manager said their online system doesn’t work and that I was “out of luck” because they’re booked up. There were only two people working at this location, the manager included! An extremely rude mechanic then mocked me for not being able to properly identify where the nail in my tire was located and then honked a horn at me for standing in his way while the manager and I examined my tire. The manager then told me that there was nothing they could do for my tire and that I would need one of their overpriced tires, but they couldn’t do anything for me for another two days. I quickly left and went down the street to a tire shop. They not only patched my tire in minutes, but informed me that I don’t need a new tire immediately. They also informed me that the NTB in Laurel has a bad reputation in the area. I can completely agree with that sentiment. Please shop elsewhere!

I was none too pleased with having to constantly return to this shop because they were unable to accommodate me with my tire issue. When I scheduled an appointment, all they did was put air in the tire although they had it for the entire day. The next day, my tire was flat again. Although their location is convenient, I cannot promise I would use or recommend them again.

I bought 4 new Michelin tires at full price with installation in Nov. 2018. Customer service was friendly and attentive -- no complaints. I was quoted a 2.5 hour time, and I would be called, but I had to return after nearly 4 hours to find out my car was ready. My car was also blocked in by another car being serviced, but the customer service rep assisting me moved the other car himself, so a minor inconvenience, and again the customer service was the best part.New tires were all installed and car drives well. However, one of the tires was installed inside sidewall out, the long sticker hadnt been removed from the tread on that same tire, and no caps were included on any of the valve stems. I didnt notice those small details until I arrived home. I put on my own caps rather than return. For a full price purchase/installation, service was lacking. Ive had past success with NTB, but this is my first/last visit to Laurel.

Im reluctant to bring my car and work vehicle to places for service. For what Ive needed, and the money I must spend to fix/maintain, I like going here. I dont feel like theres always another problem to fix when I drop it off even though Ive received recommendations. There are times there are other problems while they diagnose. But, I definitely dont feel like this a garage thatll do everything they can to bring my car back in next week just to fix another issue I didnt know I had. It just seems honest. Thats hard to find. At least, it has been for me. Others may disagree but Ive enjoyed my overall experience. Im cynical about car repairs. They do a good job of shooting straight and making it as reasonably priced as possible.

Had a Saturday appointment (12/16/17) and arrived a few minutes early. I waited a couple of minutes, the gentleman checked me in and within two hours they replaced my tires, did an alignment and I was out the door. They were efficient, pleasant and easy to work with.The initial telephone conversation was great as well. I was looking for a specific tire that did not show on the website. That tire was no longer available and so they made suggestions as to what their customers tend to like on similar vehicles. The were friendly on the phone and in the shop.My friend has been there and recommended them. Two thumbs up!

I started out taking my car there for oil changes. Then I continued to use them for my other automotive needs. Ive always been very pleased about the work theyve done. They accommodate me easily although I have noticed they do overbook at times. This has not affected me because I typically leave plenty of time for auto repair.I feel theyve been very knowledgeable about the issues that I had done with my car. Arrived to this laurel NTB location for my 2pm appt. Employee there complaining about having to work and then having to come back and work the next day. After I listened to him I tell him my name and he does not have me down for the appt.. He asked me when did I scheduled it? Why does that matter?I did it online and always have it done before, but at the Columbia location.He didnt even try to accommodate me in at all for an oil change.Please dont ignore the negative reviews.Stay away from this place! Never coming here again! Unhappy employees will give bad customer service.

I scheduled an oil change for 12 pm. I was not waited on until 12:20 pm once I was seen the technician stated I would have to pay an additional $22 for a diagnosis test due to my check engine light being on. I explained I was aware of why the light was on and did not want to pay an additional fee. The he informed me he could not do the oil change because the light was on and the car had a vibration. I was thoroughly upset and frustrated because I had spent time sitting in the store only to be told my car could not be serviced. There is no statement or clause online informing the customer of such policy. My car would be off to change the oil what did the vibration have to do with it. I believe it was a way to get more money from me. I went to another service center and was able to get my oil changed without a hassle. Will never use Merchants in the future and will inform family and friends not to. Hope they get shut down. I will be reporting them to Better Business Bureau.

I was told it was going only to take two hours to install four new tires. I waited. They where not busy at all and they were fully staffed. I see the guys standing around and smoking a lot in the bays. After six ours later and me have them to redo there work I was able to leave. Not a happy camper

I had my tires replaced by them in June and the service was great. Over several months, I had to take the car back related to the tires either for a slow leak, alignment or last week a nail in the tire. Of course the maintenance package I have didnt covered it so out of pocket again. Well this time I was asked to examined and explained the affected tire. I was not guided through the area and the caution signs to make aware of unlevel floors and I misstep and the result is a sprained foot.The technician apologized but no follow up to at least see how things turned out. The manager was there and did not at one time inquired about the situation or how I was doing. Thanks Dan for the lack of concern and customer service. He sat on his behind looking and smile of concern if I would file a complaint. Well Sir this is the complaint.

Switched from Mr. Tire. 2 tires took back repeatedly for slow leaks at Mr. Tire, gave up even though I paid for tire insurance...NTB caught the problem, leaking valve stem, showed it to me on the car, on the wheel using soapy water.. Fixed within 30 mind for both tires... SWITCH you will get good service, have a place to park, and place is clean and neat inside and in garage. Goodbye to Mr. T after 8 years...

Took my car for an oil change and tire rotation having received a coupon for $19.99. They refused to do the tire rotation because they said one of my back tires was worn out and they can only rotate the tires if they sell me a new tire. I refused to buy a tire from them because the one they said was worn out was actually sold by the same shop less than a year ago. They pointed out that I need to replace a belt which they insisted I do immediately. I refused their offer to fix the belt coz I was not convinced it was necessary. They did not seem to like it and hurriedly pulled my car from the bay. They did not even put a sticker for the oil change and Im not sure it was done. I had also requested wheel balancing. They charged me for balancing all four tires but the car feels the same most likely because they did not actually do the balancing. Beware, theyll lure you in so they can sell you things you dont need. They are not trustworthy.

I just made my first visit here since about a year ago. Things have changed. It is now called NTB instead of Merchants Tire. I bought 1 tire for $62 but my final bill was $104. There is now a $30 installation fee for tires! Other than that the service was good and the people were nice.

Today. November 12. I dropped my vehicle off to have a set of tires installed at 10:30 am. They told me it would be done n 2hrs or less.At 2:20 pm they still hadn’t even put my car in the garage. When I requested to have my keys back to leave and go somewhere else, the guy “Edwin” hands me my keys and walks away. No explanation or apology. My worst experience with buying tires in 45 years of driving.Youll never have me as a customer again.

Went to purchase 4 new tires and a wheel alignment.Had a 3:30 appointment stayed there until 7:30 The wheel alignment was worse after Merchants preformed the alignment. The next day I looked over my tires in the daylight to discover Merchants had put on 3 new tires and one old tire but keep in mind I purchased 4 new tires and was charged for 4 tires.My tires wasnt balanced given my car and terrible vibration in the steering wheel. I called the Area Manager whom still has not returned my call.DO NOT TRUST YOUR VEHICLE TO MERCHANTS TIRE AND BATTERY

It has been a long time since I have experienced this type of discrimination. And I have experienced worse. My father in law is a 40 year customer of National Tire and Battery and referred me use this company to purchase tires for my truck. Yesterday, Wednesday morning May 22nd around 7:30am I walked into National Tire and Battery’s Laurel Maryland store to inquire about and purchase a set of tires for my truck.I waited to speak with the person in the office who I later found out was the store manager Dan Tyler. I greeted him and I casually told him I worked over night last night and was tired butt I need to get tires for my truck. He was very impersonal toward me. I gave him the tire size. Two other customers, older white men were also in the office area. One hands him keys and they all crack jokes with each other. He was more preoccupied with accommodating them than helping me. He clicks around on his mouse with the two standing there and informs me he cannot find a complete set of tires for my truck at any location. I advise him of the brand I was interested in and provided him manufacturers part number I found on the NTB website. He proceeds to tell me he didn’t have that in stock anywhere. He then tells me he found a set of tires for a brand I never heard of called NEXEN. I looked it up later to find out it’s the cheapest tires NTB offers in that size and in my opinion a substandard product. He tells me he has nothing else and cannot help me. I leave.I walk back out to my truck in disbelief and feeling perturbed. How can a company the size of NTB not have any tires in that size I need anywhere in Maryland. As I’m sitting in my truck Dan Tyler walks out with one of the older white men escorts him to his truck parked next to me and they joke and pat each other on the back in front of my truckas I’m sitting there watching. At this point I knew something wasn’t right. I message NTB’s Facebook page. I’m still currently waiting on a response. I felt I needed to further investigate this situation so I go to the next closest location.I arrived at the Silver Spring location and speak with the person in the office store manager Kirk Mattis. He gets my tire size, turns the computer screen to me, and goes over what NTB has in stock in the area with me. My tire size was available in all brands with plenty of inventory in stock! The brand and part number I wanted was also in stock! He tells me he can have the tires by 1pm and my truck will be ready by 3pm! He confirmed my suspicions. I did not even tell him of my experience at the other location. I asked Mr. Mattis how inventory works and he explained. If something is not in stock at a location it will be pull from the areas main warehouse in Baltimore and delivered by a parts runner.I purchased the tires then returned to the Laurel location in my spare car to get Dan Tyler’s business card and inform him I was accommodated by another location. My truck was ready at 2:45. I picked it up and went into work for the night. I was extremely satisfied with my experience at the Silver Spring location.It is disheartening NTB employs people like Dan Tyler. He provided me poor customer service, lied to me, attempted to sell me a cheap substandard product, and flaunted his treatment of the two white customers in front of me. I was disrespected and treated in an inequitable manner. This is not the first time I’ve had this type of experience. Based on his behavior I am sure this is how he manages the Laurel location.

Poor customer service; in-person and over the phone the representative spoke as if we were friends. He was extremely sarcastic, rude, and sooke as if his expertise were common knowledge. His tone was condescending and nonchalant. In-person, I was quoted at two hours for service. Four hours had passed and I had not received a call so I returned only to find out that the mechanics wpuld need an additional two hours to complete the service. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Vehicle was sent over clean from Gerber Collision for mechanical work. NTB personnel had no respect for my vehicle and left the interior of my vehicle filthy, almost like they let a two-year old with muddy boots play in the back seat while they inspected the vehicle. Also, zero phone etiquette. I received a call from NTB (was told vehicle went to Merchants; later found out theyre the same place), and quote, Hey, your vehicles ready. We close at 8. I proceed to ask about the vehicle. Response: You gonna come get your vehicle? Responded that I will be on my way. Phone hangs up. Furthermore when I get to the shop, was handed the key and pointed to my vehicle in the parking lot. No dialogue about the diagnostic run on my vehicle. No paperwork.

This NTB location put a bad taste in my mouth for all NTBs and I wont be going back to any of them!! I had two front tires replaced because I ran over a rock on the beltway; which bent one of the front rims. By the time I got home that evening, I had a flat tire on the new tire that did not have the bent rim. I called my mechanic to help me out. He found that NTB did not properly seal the tire, which is why I got a flat - and because of how the work was done, the new tire could not be re-used, so they gave me another. I returned to NTB, same location in Laurel, MD; they resealed and mounted a new tire. By the time I got home again, same issue. This time I return to NTB for a refund. I ended up going to Firestone to get a new tire, havent had any problems since. I requested my money back for the two new tires from NTB, if I had not read the receipt, they would have left the warrantee for the tires on my credit card, I had to tell them to remove that charge also. These guys have poorly skilled labor - evidentially they cant correctly seal tires - same problem, same tire twice in two days!! Good thing I caught it, these guys dont ask much of anything, they just charge you. Not their fault that I didnt look at the receipt, but they could have asked if I wanted the warrantee in the first place. Additionally, they didnt tell me that they didnt have the same tires I already had, they simply put on two other tires that were not the same brand; I hate this, would always prefer to have all of the same tire brand. Do they plan on restitution for my time and aggravation spent? Of course not!!! Never again!!Heres an update. NTB responded and asked me to go to their site and fallout information so they could contact me. I did so, and to no surprise, never heard from them!!! Readers be aware, it a trick to make you think they really care and will address you complaint...maybe it doesnt happen to all, but this is certainly my situation. Dont take the risk, find somewhere else to spend your money and service your requirements.

This is the absolute worst place to go for any kind of repair. They dont even work on your vehichle. I have nothing good to say about them. They have dented my car, not changed oil, not rotated tires, and charged me for all of it. Abysmal service and staff. Avoid at all costs. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

My Wife took car into to get new tires and an oil change on 9/10/2016. They forget to put the oil change sticker or to reset oil light. 2 days later car starts acting up and I take it to my Mechanic in Ashton, Md. He calls to say I need an ignition coil on cylinder 5 and an oil change? WHAT? We just got an oil change Saturday. He says no the oil is dirty and very low and the oil filter was not replaced. So, I would never go to this place.I called their Corporate headquarters, who were very nice, and they seemed genuinely concerned, I spoke with Laura and she said she would look into it and call me back. Meanwhile, stay away from them..

Better than Sunnyside avenue in Beltsville location by far at getting me in and out of store. Issue with all the add on fees that NTB has, and this location was twice as bad as Beltsville. I had issues with needing a tire replaced both times under the road hazard warranty both times within 2 months of each other. Beltsville charged me $29 in add ons, but Laurel charged me $59. Same thing, why did price double? No excuse as far as l am concerned.

The store or the guy I was talking to does not know the meaning of going above and beyond for a customer means. I told him my issue i was having with my car. he looked at me and told me the store closed in 40 min and it wasn’t anything he could do. When all I wanted was an alignment check because I felt like the merchants tire in ELC did not do it right. Just poor customer service all around.

Unfortunately had to change my review from a couple years ago. Id loved how flexible and friendly the staff were. This most recent time, I got four new tires. Prior to the appointment my tpms system worked. Afterwards it did not. NTB neither acknowledged the fault nor worked to fix it. I didnt realize how bad it was until I tried to pull one of the tires off. According to a friend of mine whos been a mechanic for years the lug nuts were badly overtorqued - one actually broke during removal. It was a cold day, but all the same.

This place is the absolute worst. Unfortunately, I was forced to use them under a used car warranty issue. A simple tire replacement on my BMW gave them a lot of trouble. They quoted BMWs are tricky. This is not a comforting excuse for a tire shop. They also did not replace my TPMS sensor and just told me that it was corroded and should be replaced next time, presumably because they didnt want to spend the extra money on it.Then comes the fun part. Under the warranty, they were asked to do an alignment on the vehicle due to my suspicions of terrible tire wear (which is why I was getting a new tire in the first place). These jokers had the car up on the stand for 2 hours scratching their heads. At the end of it, the print out had the wrong car specs input (they put in a 1 series instead of a 3) and there were still 3/8 specs that were SEVERELY out of whack. The response to this when I challenged was 1 and 3 use the same specs, its fine. AND Theres not much that can be done for your camber out of spec, but dont worry, we got your toe back in, so you wont see anymore wear. That is the biggest load because the camber OOS is the exact root cause of the inner tire wear that I was seeing.Took it to the BMW dealer on my own dime to have them do it and they were able to get everything perfect and said someone really did a bad job on this alignment...One more thing, while I was there, 2 other people came in had returned from some previous work being performed that didnt go well, one even mentioned it was her third time back with problems on the repair. These guys are incompetent, unprofessional, and have less knowledge than your average do-it-yourselfer.Avoid this place if you can.
