The facility itself is not maintained...lots of dust everywhere. People are very friendly. Looks like its family run...the service rep is married or with one of the mechanics and their child is always at the shop. Last time I was there the little girl was walking around the dirty shop with no shoes (feet were black). Guest were forced to wait for their vehicles while watching cartoons on the large TV screen. People are very nice. Does a good job at explaining whats wrong with car. Prices....meh...

The young lady at the front was very helpful and knew her stuff. She made sure that no unnecessary work was going to be done. I used to use this shop a lot 10 years ago and now that Ive moved back into the area Ill be sure to continue to use them!!!

They were running 15 mins behind schedule but the oil change only took about 15 minutes and the prices at the shop are always reasonable. Im a loyal customer because of the high quality of their maintenance and repairs.

Everyone, especially the young woman at the front desk, is extremely nice. I’ve never had a bad experience. The customer service is great. Although I’ve only come in for oil changes, it’s always been very quick. I’ve never had to wait long and that’s with or without an appointment. They do have the option to schedule appointments online, but I’ve called in and they’ve been able to see me right away. I’ve recently moved about 40 minutes away from McFadden’s but I’ll keep making the drive because you just can’t beat the service.

As a single mother traveling from Florida to New York with four children and a dog I heard a noise coming from the rear of my car that sounded like a flat tire. I checked my tires and there was nothing wrong. I brought it in to Justin and Lydia and Justin advise me the heat shield was rusted and that was the sound I was hearing. Since I was tight on cash he was nice enough to just place a screw in it and also went out of his way to double check everything else including my tires brakes oil. He even topped off my fluids and filled my tires up with air. If I lived in Maryland this would definitely be my full-time mechanic. They had lollipops for my children. They let me come inside with the dog and sit in the AC. Offered me something to drink. I would give them 1,000,000 stars if I could. The best part is they charged me $0 NOTHING!!!! Yes that’s right NOTHING!!!! You will never find such an honest mechanic anywhere in this world that here! Thank you again for you service!!!!

They identified an issue with my car that literally 3 other mechanics couldnt ! These guys are excellent. Customer Service is quick and responsive, pricing is reasonable and the Mechanics are very knowledgeable.

Taken multiple cars to McFaddens and theyre always very open and upfront and honest about what needs to be done immediately and what can be held off on. Their pricing is right where it should be, and not overpriced like many other shops. Theyll also let you buy and bring in parts for them to install which saved us over $200 last time. Highly recommended!!

Went here for a MD inspection which took 2hours for them to tell me i had a plate light out and a tear in my suspension airbag. Later on i check the light and there was no light out. Next i went to another shop and they said it looks like someone cut my airbag. Never would i got there again, nor reccommend them. Live and learn. Also while waiting I over hear them talking bout maybe getting a ticket in someone else car. Not the kinda people i ever want under, over, around, or even near my vehicle nor me.

Friendly and helpful service, professional from start to finish they gave me a quote for a new alternator, got me in without an appointment, got it fixed in a couple hours and didn’t try to charge me anything extra like some other places might. The only reason why I’m giving this shop a 1 star is because receptionist is so friendly and helpful. One big error was that I sent my car to get properly diagnose. Took 2 hours which I got referred to go to Nissan dealership for induction service which my car didn’t need I was told by the dealership, also check engine codes for Catalytic converter’s, random misfire. Dealership gave me a estimate on what needed to be done. Which instead I came back to mcfadden explain and shown what needed to be done. They did the work (replace 4 catalytic converter‘s, plugs, drive belt, pcv valve, gasket cover valve) but my car was still showing a check engine and struggling to start still. Mechanic knew this I guess expected light to not show up as soon I received my car back. I was excited to get my car back on the road instead after all this I was in tears of frustration. The minute I started my car in the their parking lot the check engine light went on. I literally walked back in. The mechanic came back to the car check the code it says still random misfire. I said what could it be. In his words “I don’t know maybe a coil”. On top of that my car struggled to start when he turn it on. Not once did he say we have to take a look at it again. No all he said was sorry I don’t know. I had to take my car to another shop a family member recommended. Thank god for that. Bad catalytic converter‘s and fuel injectors go hand - hand . A true professional or someone who actually care enough to help you find a solution would of done the work to figure that out. Or at least gave you the option to get the car recheck. My engine was Flooded with fuel leaking into my cats.That was the random misfire. So unprofessional not caring about my car or value me as customer. Also induction service that they recommended the shop in gaithersburg that finally fixed my car said that would been a wasted of money and pointless since my fuel was flooded. Never ever again take my car here. I shouldn’t have to tell you what to do to my car and you do just that. Who’s the mechanic here?? Not recommend .

I’ve taken my cars to McFadden Service Center since 2004 and consistently been satisfied. Staff are friendly as well as knowledgeable. They always share the expected cost, time to complete the job and even if there are things I can safely put off (including for how long and the estimated cost). They’ve never been wrong and without fail have gone way beyond my expectations. They even have resolved issues that stumped the dealer repair service!Great free wi-fi if you’re inclined to wait with plenty of nearby venues to visit. Owner James Copeland even recommended a replacement car when it was time to get rid of my beloved Volvo.Although I miss his daughter Alex who knowledgeably worked the front desk...Lydia is a fine addition to the team.I highly recommend their service and take my car there whenever I’m In MD (I now work some 225 miles each way away in Southern VA).

Once again, McFadden fixes a problem that the dealership couldnt. My car engine wouldnt crank when I turned the key. Had to make an emergency stop at a dealership because I was in another state. They replaced the battery, alternator, starter, and serpentine belt to the tune of over $1,000. Got home, but the same problem occurred the following day. Took it to my trusted mechanic, James at McFadden, and voila! It was the starter RELAY switch. Had circumstances been different, and I could have taken the vehicle immediately to McFadden, I would have saved myself hundreds of dollars and a few days of aggravation. Thank you guys, for the superb work that you do!!!

The first place I stopped was Goodyear and they told me I needed an appointment . I had a nail in my tire and was in a bad situation. I went to McFadden and they took me in right away and 30 minutes later I was on my way, and I was so grateful.

I don’t trust the inspection practices in this place. I waited 2.5 hours even though I had an appointment, and afterward I was given a list of things that needed to be repaired. I was suspicious, so I got a second opinion. The second inspector showed me actual codes in the MD state inspection manual that proved I was in compliance. I saved about $300 by not going to these guys. I’ll never return. I overlooked the unprofessionalism at the front desk, but I refuse to be robbed.

Very good mechanics the best place to fix your car

I had my shocks and struts replaced a year ago, and my control arm, outer tie rod, and motor mounts replaced two months ago. My suspension was perfect minus the steering wheel being a bit off center. I took it to McFadden Service Center for an alignment expecting the same great experience I saw in all these nice reviews, but Im starting to think those are family friends or something because the service I received was a different story.I called for a quote and the receptionist was rather helpful. I thought $104 for an alignment was rather pricey, but I decided Id let it go because you get what you pay for. That was wrong. I took my car in on 12/24/19 for a 10:00AM appointment. I got there on time and was told it would take an hour. I didnt get to leave until 12. Also, I asked for a printout of the before/after so I could see how much the alignment improved my steering, but was told the printer was broken. But either way, my wheels were straight, and I was happy for literally 24 hours before the problems started.The next day, I was driving and the wheel started shaking violently. Being that I was going 60 MPH in highway traffic, this was unsettling to say the least. It lasted for around 15 seconds then stopped. A few minutes later, it happened again, this time I was only going 20 MPH, but the shaking was only slightly less intense. Later that day, I was on the highway again and it resumed, lasting almost the whole ride from DC to Laurel. I parked my car and when I came out to it the next day, the wheel was crooked, like it was about to come off the car. I was able to drive it the few minutes back to the shop, hoping Id get some help.Comments were made both in the front office and in the garage that implied to me that nobody really took my issue all too seriously. The man who originally worked on my car, Amil, put it back on the lift and said the issue was that I needed a new inner tie rod and strut. He showed me the strut, which looked like it came out of a mount, so I asked him why this wasnt noticed prior to them doing the alignment. He said it was fine before, and that this was a coincidence that the issues happened almost immediately after. I believe in coincidence, but when you work on my wheels, and the suspension is destroyed less than 24 hours later, Im far more hesitant to write it off so easily. The shop quoted me a price of $383 dollars for just the labor to replace those two parts, which seemed excessive. I found another party willing to do it for 25% of that, which is where Im taking my car from now on.I asked the owner, James, if hed be willing to give me another alignment for my troubles, which I wholeheartedly believe his shop caused, and he said yeah, but Im going to charge you full price for it. I told him I felt like this was bad business, and he didnt seem to care, which says to me he doesnt care about his customers, just his friends who happen to do business with him. I wasnt asking for free parts, or even labor, because from what i observed, an alignment doesnt require much work on the part of the mechanic other than hooking the car up to the machine, which does most of the work.Im thankful that I didnt cause an accident, but the fact that this shop failed to notice my strut problem in the first place, blamed it on dumb misfortune, and now refuses even the slightest of concessions, all while having me, a potentially loyal customer, driving an improperly inspected vehicle, creating a hazard to both myself and the millions of families and children I shared the road with in that 24 hours, is the only reason anyone should need to never do business with them again. Im still hoping James or someone else in charge will do the right thing and provide some form of recourse, but the way I was spoken to earlier tells me that is unlikely. Moreover, I hope you, as a potential customer, take my experience as warning to not do business with McFaddens and save your time and money.

Excellent service, a buisness with great integrity, efficient and knowledgable mechanics, and very friendly folks. Took my Jeep in for a diagnostic, they fixed the problem with the alternator within an hour, one that a previous mechanic had failed to check was fully good to go, and charged a fair and well deserved rate for their service. They really proved they care for their customers :)

Awesome service from this place! Had my spark plugs changed before driving cross country moving to Maryland. The car started acting funny and I had a suspicion it was a bad job done on the plugs. A friend in the area recommended them so I gave them a try. McFaddens went out of the way to resolve the issue in the least expensive way for ME. It took a few visits and ended up being bad plugs, but the fact that the mechanic went out of his way to try the Lear expensive options first says a lot. In the end, the problem was fixed and it was WAY cheaper than any other place I had quoted. I wont be going any where else to get my car fixed!
