I would definitely read the reviews about Eden Treatment center before having to make that place yours or your child’s treatment center. As an ex employee of Eden Treatment Center, they truly do sell hopes and dreams here. Prior to my hiring I asked how management was and I was told it was structured and management cares about employees mental health as well. False nothing was structured at all, I did not have any proper training in regards to Eating Disorders and on my weekend shifts I would mostly be alone until myself and other employees been voicing out to management the importance of having a diet tech to portion out clients food. Most of the time when myself and other employees who are on the floor alone need to ask a question in regards to clients meal tickets, no one answers. There are many times incidents happens such as client self harming, I’d be there to calm clients down and management would not bother to check in. Employees do not have a set schedule and they will not even try to accommodate with your schedule and if they do, they’ll say this and that and in the end it’ll be unorganized. Program manager Cynthia Holmes would talk employees into reporting how another program manger about how she/he handles things . When in reality she’s been trying to get that person fire from the day that person got promoted. Eden will also makes promises to clients and tends to break it. And it makes me wonder how much parents put into this treatment center. Management are supposed to be working together not bringing eachother down . Communication within this center is lags big time. The center also tend to favor Jewish clients more than those who are not which isn’t fair. Honestly parents/guardians and those who are thinking about having Eden as their treatment center, I advise you to do your research!!! And those who are applying to work for Eden I truly hope you do your research too about the place before accepting the offer letter.
As an employee for the adolescent residential house (Edna) I regularly see employees being utilized beyond their means. Employees from all disciplines (Counselors, Diet Techs, Med Techs) are left alone, as in the only staff member on site, with up to seven clients. At the very least, there should always be a nurse or med tech on site, however this is not the case. To make matters worse the clinical director (Julia) does not always answer her phone (texts or voice calls), even when she is on call.Management and other staff members (Therapists, Dietitians) who should be supporting clients during meal times and group activities are usually in the office chatting about their personal lives. I have seen employees roll their eyes when they have to sit with clients. They clearly should not be working with high risk clients who deserve and require constant attention. Also, 95% of employees have no experience working with eating disorders (unless of course you count the fact that many are in ED recovery themselves) and they consistently say all the wrong things to clients. Nurses tell the clients about their weight and counselors tell the clients their meal portions are too large, to mention a few.Eden is praised for being one of the only Kosher (Jewish) eating disorder treatment facilities, however, if your child isnt Jewish they can expect to receive secondary treatment to the Jewish clients. Yasmine (Client Coordinator and alum) makes special phone calls to Jewish clients, but never to non Jewish clients, she even gave a Jewish client a gift and not the others.Keeping a kosher kitchen means that your child will have more eating restrictions than when they were admitted. This is a major stress to all clients.I also noticed that clients who came to Edna with no history of self harming or other behavioral health problems picked them up from other clients.Due to a lack of staffing and resources the residence is regularly in a state of uncertainty, and the clients pick up on this. When the residence is understaffed, clients are not able to go on their scheduled outings or participate in group activities. These days are usually the hardest for clients and ED behaviors are especially common. Clients look forward to their outings and activities, of course theyre going to act out.The only clients who dont act out or who suddenly change their behavior after being admitted, are the ones who are smart enough to realize that if they comply they will be discharged sooner, however their home life must be some what decent to go back to. One particular client has been there for months and its my understanding that their home is not very safe for them or their disorder. You do the math!I have yet to meet the owner or any of the upper management team. If they visited the facility maybe some of these issues would not occur, or maybe these issues occur because the owner and management dont care enough to be involved. Some of these 4 -star reviews, with not much to say, were written by staff members.
Ari the therapist that was assigned to our D was incredibly insightful, great to re-direction to the issues at hand. we have been thru a lot of different therapists and she had the largest impact on guiding, directing, validating and also problem solving a very challenging family dynamic. Julie the director was so helpful, gave me hugs and encouragement that made me feel like family. There were very dark moments during this period of time when my D went to residential and she was the kindest and always answered my questions during and after our time at Eden. Thank you for giving us hope and putting our D on the right track.
I am a client at eden treatment and I recommend you read this review. I am not using my real name but I am a real client in the Eden adolescent facility. Eden saved my life. I had nowhere to go because I am a kosher jew and no other treatment centers had kosher options besides Eden. Of course there were days where treatment was extremely hard but if it werent for the support of the staff here especially Yasmine (alumni coordinator), Julia (clinical director) and the Harlig family (Rabbi of Eden and family) I would not be standing here today. Everyone took me in and helped me understand that even though the world may be against me, at Eden I am amazing just like everyone else here. I was used to feeling alone but Julia always reminded me that I was her child. I felt at home because it is kosher facility and all the other girls understood and respected that. Staff members quit and wrote terrible reviews about Eden discouraging others to come here but I want everyone to know that treatment is worth it and the treatment I received at Eden is helping me to become the best version of myself and is helping me to achieve my dreams. I learned how to let go of my eating disorder and I can finally say that for the first time ever I am truly happy. At Eden, my dreams became a reality and I am forever grateful to them for saving me.
I attended the adolescent residential program and was extremely disappointed by the service provided to me there. Much of the staff was very young and clearly poorly trained. Many made extremely triggering and insensitive comments and failed to follow protocol including flush checks, supposed 24 hour nursing, and bringing supplements. Hardly any support was provided at meals (the girls were more encouraging than the staff) and the atmosphere was poorly managed. Behaviors were ignored by staff and it was clear that they had very little, if any experience in the eating disorder or mental health world. I found the environment to be the opposite of safe and healing but rather triggering and toxic. I was pulled from the program and put in another residential that has been so much more helpful. After leaving, I was informed that two or three other girls were also pulled by their parents due to how poor the the treatment was. I have chosen not to provide specific examples of my experience at Eden for now, but I urge you to look into this place before sending a loved one or yourself here. Im not sure why my experience appears to be so different from the others who commented. Possibly, the adult facility is better. Hopefully Eden can make some changes to their programming in order to provide a better space for future clients. However, as of now, I would strongly discourage seeking treatment here.
This job is just not it to work at and I just strongly feel that they sell you hopes and dreams here. The communication is just not there. The opportunity was good but it just was not for me.
My experience here was nothing like the reviews for the adult facility. The residential program was open before the house was even ready, so some of the girls had to stay at a separate house for a few nights. Going into program, everything was so unorganized. I’m consulting with a separate facility right now to pursue my treatment, and they gave their own opinions about how unorganized and how inexperienced everyone was there. There would be days where people would nearly miss therapy sessions because they had to delay lab days. The staff members would consistently say triggering things, like commenting on certain people having a higher intake, and one staff member even made comments about how she was more attractive when she weighed what I weighed. The environment in itself was incredibly toxic. I’ve had so many experiences there that I haven’t opened up about. I’ve seen girls come into that facility and start self harming who would never self harm before, and I know my self harm there got worse. It’s not a safe environment, phone time is limited so when you need support you’re not always able to call your support system, and staff members aren’t always lenient around it. Also being in the PHP program, it’s very obvious that most people here don’t know how to provide support. Kids are able to get away with not eating, refusing supplement, and staff members won’t do anything because they simply don’t know how to offer support. While being at PHP, my treatment team decided to leave me with absolutely no resources once I leave the program, and now my parents are struggling to find any other programs, but we’re talking with a few other treatment teams to hopefully get it sorted out. They were supposed to finish me out with multiple sessions with my current therapist, but they ended up canceling out on that. I would never discourage anyone from treatment, this place did help me eat, but as far as the whole psychological thing goes I wouldn’t really suggest it.
First I want to call out those who have left fake reviews for Edens adolescent facility. Our childrens lives are at stake here. Ive talked to several mothers whose daughters ended up in the hospital following their stays at the adolescent facility in Las Vegas. My 14 year old daughter was admitted to the adolescent facility in June, a month after it opened. When I left her at the facility, my instinct (after meeting with the two residential counselors and the Clinical Director) was to turn around and go get her, but we decided to give it a few days. During that meeting, my daughter was eating lunch as they were interviewing the two of us and discussing very sensitive topics, as my daughter attempted to eat. Her first night there, my daughters roommate told her that she could self-harm and get away with it because no one checks for self-harm or cares. When my daughter refused meals, the staff did not offer her supplements or encourage her to complete. They encouraged drinking Crystal Light, despite it being a diet drink. I specifically told the Clinical Director that it would be very triggering for my daughter if they offered it to her, but they did so. All of the labels on food were visible to the clients, which is very unusual. The Clinical Director said that she wanted to get a volleyball court constructed so that the clients could use it for exercise. Exercise during residential treatment should be very carefully monitored if allowed at all, and that level of exercise would rarely be acceptable for anyone in early recovery from an eating disorder. The only two staff who were monitoring the clients after 5PM were two 18-year-olds who were not educated in how to manage eating disorder behavior, self-harm or conflict between the clients. This may be inappropriate to mention but it was clear that the Clinical Director had an active eating disorder and ate egg whites at the breakfast table while the girls tried to eat their more substantial breakfasts. The Clinical Director rarely ate meals with the clients, nor did any of the other professional staff who were actually trained in how to manage eating disorder table behaviors. My daughter did not feel safe at this facility, and thankfully was wiling to tell me so over the phone. When we picked her up after only 4 nights at the facility, she was orthostatic and had to be admitted to the hospital for over a week when we returned home.
Dr. Kannard and the Eden Treatment team truly care- We were fortunate that Dustin was our daughter’s therapist. He is the best of the best. Dustin never gave up on our daughter and made sure she didn’t give up on herself. Yasmine and the inspiring Harlig’s gave our daughter the support and familial love reminding her not to give up because G-d never gives up on her.
Hello Im only 5months new to Nevada. I was an employee at Eden (NOC Med tech) until I got infected with covid 19 by Eden at its Edna and Dutch location. Instead of allowing me to heal from COVID 19 Eden fired me not even a week later. I was let go over the phone. NEVADA STATE LAW requires that Employers give valid reasoning to firing at will that goes along with the handbook. The HR Director Ashley Coro did not provide that. She stated I was wrote up once, and other incidents (not mentioned) was the reasons why. I was wrote up once because my car got towed and I have valid evidence supporting that. There hasnt been any other incidents brought to my knowledge that goes along with Edens handbook that would result in me being fired. I was fired because I got sick and It now has me and my 6yrs old on the brink of being homeless in a state we are not fully familiar with. As Im sending this to you all I will also post this on your Google reviews. People should know how Eden treat good reliable employees especially during a pandemic. Thank you for turning my life upside down.
I have been to many treatment centers and there are a few things that sets Eden apart from other places. First and this is huge, Eden does NOT allow insurance to drive a clients treatment. The 3 treatment centers I went to before Eden, insurance denied me at 18, 20, and 21 days and I was told I had to leave to next day. I thought for sure I’d be leaving around 20 days but Julia (Clinical Director) kept reassuring me that I wasn’t leaving and that she would be saying good morning to me on day 21 and even day 25. Eden and my treatment team fought tooth and nail for me and after insurance wouldn’t approve any more days, Eden still kept me for another 2 weeks. I was in residential for 2 months and then PHP for 3 months. This doesn’t happen, treatment centers do not keep you if they aren’t getting paid!Another thing that sets Eden apart, the staff. First, the higher ups, the other treatment centers I went to, I either had little or no contact. While at Eden, support was provided by many. Megan (Director of Nursing) was super busy but managed to always know what was going on with each client and if she was on site, she was always able to make time for me when I needed to talk and other clients. Julia (Clinical Director) was very busy but she was my biggest support while I was at Eden. She always made time for me and showed me she really cared. She really made a difference in my life. So the next person is no longer there but I can’t leave her out because she made such an impact. Jenna (Dietitian and Director of Nutrition) was and is the best dietitian I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. All of the dietitians at previous treatments I just felt like they didn’t care at all. Not Jenna, she truly cared and she showed it. She always made time and there were times I went to her for support and it wasn’t dietary. She was always super patient with all of us and she met us where we were at. Next is Yasmine (Care Cordinator) who was super busy as well but she supported me and the others often. She will never give up on you and she will not let you give up. I can’t tell you how many panic attacks she helped me through but she was so good that she did it over the phone once. Eden needs her and she and the others are what make Eden better than other places. The therapists were amazing as well! Both helped me through many panic attacks. One of them, Eva is trained in EMDR and works with Trauma and she is fantastic! Sadly the therapist I had is no longer there but she was awesome so I have no doubt that they have hired a fantastic therapist. Also, there were many awesome counselors. A big thing for me was some of them knew I was about to have a panic attack and helped me to prevent it. I suffer from flashbacks too and several counselors helped me through them and then supported me after it. The reason I named staff and their positions is because I think it’s not only important to show how much upper management is involved but I wanted to make it more personal instead of just saying upper management helped me. Also, please know there are more upper management, nurses, diet techs, and counselors that supported me on my journey while at Eden. The honest truth is, there is no perfect treatment center, I wish there was. There are always pros and cons to every place but at least for me when I weigh the pros and cons, I have certain things that are super important. Eden has those things, I was safe, the bed was comfortable and the house was clean, I felt safe, I had people there that cared about me, I trusted a few people, I had hope, my best interest was being looked out for, I felt supported, and I was progressing. If you want to go somewhere where they are going to care about you and fight tooth and nail for you, then Eden is the place.
Such an awesome facility! This program saves lives, as well as helped so many kids.
AMAZING facility. This facility focuses on helping kids and changing their lives
Lovely staff, very relaxed and calm environment. Committed to the kids
Great friendly staff. Always focuses on the kids growth.
Extremely pleased with the treatment we received, highly recommend!
Was very impressed with the way the center is run. The owner was very helpful and really focused on helping. It was very hard to seek help for my friend but Eden was very great with the process.
Very impressed with the facility and its staff on so many levels. from the care given to the amenities offered, a treatment center like this was long needed and appreciated.
This program saves lives, as well as has helped so many kids.
Eden Changed my life. Im 21 who has had anorexia, bulimia and a binge eating disorder for 9 years and can truly say eden made wonders happen. The staff really cares about you and the patient to staff ratio is unbelievable. There are usually around 4-6 patients on average and always 2 consulars in the house at all times and 1 nurse. During the day there is always at least one therapist around and the nutritionist is always around and is always willing to work with you! The food options were amazing. Always a ton of variety and everything was homemade! Yasmine, Joana, Eva (my therapist), and Jenna (nutritionist) were amazing! Along with the other therapist and staff members including Diana, Angela, Tammie, Jamie, Heather, Leslie, Deshell, Daza, Mercedes, Melia, and Anna! Also, Nurse Anna and Shannon were so so special and amazing. They were always there for us and we had so much fun in the pool together and taking outings! And a special thank you to Brittany and Jennifer for working with my insurance to get me into the program! If your looking for residential treatment id highly recommend!
This is an amazing program that was desperately needed. The clinical team is amazing and they all really care! I would highly recommend this program.
Awesome staff who all seem to get along together and create a positive environment. Hard to come by such a good group of people in Vegas but this place pulled it off, thanks Eden!
Great staff that is friendly and supportive!
Place is incredible.
As a client of the adolescent facility of Eden Treatment, I would say that this center has its ups and downs. Ive previously attended residential treatment, and I can confidently say that Eden better suited my needs; however, treatment here is definitely not for everybody. The facility is kosher, and while I am not Jewish myself, I didnt really mind. I would advise non-kosher clients to be considerate of this fact when seeking treatment, as it did make my transition after discharge a bit more difficult. I wasnt used to having certain foods as they were not kosher, which added several fear foods to my already abundant list. The rules and norms of Eden are definitely relaxed. I preferred this treatment style as I am 17 years old and do not want to be treated as a child. For higher-risk clients who have not already been in treatment, this approach may not be as suitable. My main complaint for this treatment center is the lack of support from upper management. Counselors were not given proper training in eating disorders, and I as well as multiple other clients, had to take the role of staff: interrupting behaviors, giving conversational redirections, and ensuring everyones safety. I constantly felt guilty for the overworked staff, and avoided overbearing them with my issues. The house on Edna also experienced several issues with insect infestations and broken plumbing. Additionally, this center assisted me in recovery of my eating disorder, but ignored my other behaviors. I noticed the longer I stayed at Eden, the worse my depression, OCD, and anxiety became. By the time I was discharged, these other issues were glaringly disruptive and caused myself, my therapists, and parents, to constantly reevaluate my safety. For potential clients who are higher risk, I would advise them to consider a treatment center that is less dependent on self-motivation and offers more support for self harm, suicidal, and OCD behaviors. As I was already motivated for recovery and old enough to appreciate an environment where I was given less support, this treatment center did benefit my recovery.
