We hired this company in September 2020, to design and build a sunroom addition and paid the required down payment of $3,150 (a quarter of the total). In December, 2020, we were told permits were OKd and they had started the addition. In January, we arrived at the location, only to find out that one side of our yard was dug up and black plastic around the proposed site...nothing else completed. Neighbors stated it had been dug up since October, but company states they did this in December? We called the owner, and he stated only some of the permits were OKd and then stated that they couldnt even guarantee if the job would be started by May, 2021. At that time, we asked for our $3,150 deposit back only to be given $1,850 via an envelope stuck to their company door. We contacted the permit office -after not getting any answers about why the job was abandoned-and the county permit office stated that Bay Aluminum had turned in- inappropriate plans in December 2020 and this is why it hadnt been approved. The owner of Bay Aluminum waited over 3-months to send in the proposed plans to the county permit department, and didnt take the time to check back on WHY it still hadnt been approved? At the same time, kept our deposit until we complained. WE had to call the permit office ourselves and WE even tried to work with the owner to get the job started. NO ONE ever bothered to check on the permit and they gave us NO guanantee for completion of the project. Instead, they kept $875 of our deposit, an an additional $475 for the plans and permit. Per Florida statue: a contractor has to apply for a building permit (if a contract has been signed and a permit is necessary) within 30 days of received deposit...This wasnt done..WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!

After getting several quotes for aluminum work (installation of carport, gutters & shed) on our new manufactured home, I received several recommendations to utilize Bay Area Aluminum. Shortly afterwards, I signed the contact & wrote a check to get on their schedule (at this point EVERYONE is backed-up with work & materials). About a week after taking occupancy, Bay Area started our job. They had one challenge to contend with . . . THE WEATHER! Bay Area completed our job in a timely fashion. I dealt with Harry Lufkin who is competent, honest, professional, knowledgable. Harry even charged me the exact cost of the permitting fees, not one dollar more! Once the job was completed, I didnt realize they were even at my home. The detail work & craftsmanship is quite evident (many neighbors have commented on how good things look). Without hesitation, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bay Area Aluminum for all your needs!
