They were able to look at the car within a few hours and fix the car so that the trailer lights were working within a half hour. We were able to get on the road that day after all and make it home for Thanksgiving. They were the real MVPs. You should definitely bring your car here!

This was my first visit and I cant say enough good things about Ryans Auto Care! From April who patiently answered every single one of my questions, to Bruce and Ryan who did an amazing job on my rear AC repair for my Chevy Express Van, the service was outstanding!! I know this type of repair was labor and time intensive (to put it lightly) and like so many have said before, they do their best to save you money where they can! Im SO glad I have found Ryans, they are the real deal! Thank you all so much!

I took my car there and was told its battery issue. They put in a new battery and I was charged $198 for the battery and the service. I brought my car back home and took a drive for the first time 4 days later, and the engine shut down/stalled in the middle of a busy HYW when I stopped at the stop light. I got it towed back to the their shop, and I was told that its not the battery and they need to fix other things. This is what they said/fixed, has a super low idle at stop...perform an idle re-learn and clean throttle body and test drive. They told me they charged me $95 for labor cost only, and when I protested and was not happy about it, they dropped the charge to $47.50. I dont feel like I should be charged again for the job that was not done properly in the first place.

Ryans Auto Care does a good job.Their partsmare over priced. I had an alternator and battery installed. I asked how much they were charging me for each part and they charged $50 - $100 more than if I purchased them myself.Example... the battery is $100 anywhere.... they charged me $150.....

Very diligent in the diagnosis. The mechanic said Im good to go for a while. Then Ill have an alternator replacement. Friendly too.

Ive been negligent in taking this long to write a review for the great people at Ryans. They not only do fantastic work fast, but consistently do whatever they can to save us money. More than once, Ive approved repairs and costs, only for them to call back when it was done and say a few items turned out not to be necessary, so they skipped it. They could have gone ahead and made the money for replacing parts Id already approved, but they chose to to look out for their customer. I wouldnt go anyplace else.

April is an extremely good communicator, and very prompt. As a female, I trust they will not overcharge me, or tell me something needs to be replaced when it doesnt. Plus, they offer free loaner cars, which is a godsend with work and small children.

Great people who do great work. April is awesome and is honest about what needs to be worked on, fixed, or is salvageable. Turnaround time is acceptable with most jobs being done in a day or less. They wont always be the cheapest place but I trust them with all my vehicles so that in itself is worth the little bit more I would pay to have them do the work.

I took my truck into these guys and they did a great job, they were able to find leaks in my cooling system that was unable to find, did the repairs and got her up and running for me the next day and at a fair price, cant ask for better service and i am definitely going to them any time i need a solid mechanic, i will recommend them every time. Exceptional! My son was in Lansing, MI on June 22, 2015 for a concert at the Loft with friends. Having auto issues so far away from home, Traverse City, MI. I was very concerned and lost trying to help my son get his car cared for and running again. I had hopped onto the maps of Lansing, MI and verified where my son was with his broken down car, and noticed Ryans Car and Auto Care on the map close to my sons location. So I called Ryans Auto service station and explained the situation, Ryan was very helpful referring me to 2 other service stations who may be able to help me in this situation. This first place I called was able to refer me to their towing service and get my sons car in, and serviced within the day,and the charges $$$ were very acceptable, considering the distance from Traverse City, MI and Lansing, Michigan. Ryans Auto Care is the best place in Lansing and as someone else mentioned in an earlier review....one of Lansings best kept secrets! I was referred there by a co-worker and I have since referred 3 others there myself. Theyre honest and wont try to sell you something you dont need. Their prices are very reasonable and the service turnaround time is fast! My mother-in-law comes all the way from Rochester Hills to have Ryans work on her car. I cant say enough good things about them.

When I was living in Lansing, I used Ryans Auto Care for pretty much all of my car maintenance. I had a Ford Contour and Honda Accord serviced by Ryan, Bruce, and the crew there. They always were able to find the fix and charged very reasonable prices. These guys definitely exemplify the local mechanic mentality that my dad instilled in me.

The fact that they only have 5-star reviews on here (and every other review platform) says a lot about their business. Long story short, they treat your car like it was their own (lets fix whats broke attitude, not what can we sell this guy). I feel like some mechanics approach a customer as what can I get out of this guy right now vs how do I make this person a life-long customer, They are definitely of the latter.Professional work, reliable scheduling/service, and most importantly, honest dialogue. Ive been unsatisfied with other shops Ive dealt with in the area, but got recommended to come here from a friend. I guarantee you I wont be taking my truck anywhere else, and I recommend this shop without reservation.

Gets the job done well, highly satisfied with repair timing, price and public dealing. Gives sincere advice on car repairs. I got brakes and some mechanical issues for my mazda6 taken care of well. These guys were awesome, inspected my car quickly, told me what the issues were, charged me significantly less than I was expecting, and were just generally pleasant to deal with. Im definitely going back to them to get my tires rotated and brakes swapped out later this year.

Ive found Ryans to be a very honest and dependable business. I trust what they tell me and they never try to sell me more repairs than are needed. Ive referred several friends to Ryans and theyve all come away impressed.

Very friendly, convenient with having free loaners... however they often overcharge and take a bit long with repairs. Overall, they’re ok... but I wouldn’t rave about them for those two reasons.

2020 Update: Theyve now serviced 3 high mileage vehicles for me over the past decade. Kept the last car going past 350k miles! I made the mistake of taking my current car to the dealership I bought it from for a suspension issue, and they tried to tell me I needed $4k worth of work on it (including rebuilding the engine)! Took it back to Ryans with my estimate outlining what the problems were (according to the dealership), he inspected my car and found that there was only the suspension issue which I had originally suspected. Very honest and fairly priced, will never talk you into things you dont need.I dont know where Id be if I hadnt found this place! Theyve serviced both of my very high mileage cars, and they have always given me a fair and honest quote with quality work. They excel in every single area of service, and Ive never had a single complaint.

Ryans took care of my 2004 dodge stratus SXT coupe named Emma Frost at a very reasonable price and I always got her back quickly. I just had my newer (2000 jeep grand Cherokee named Crimson Dynamo) checked out there too and again, quick and reasonably priced. These dudes do some good work and deserved the praise they receive.

This is by far the best auto shop in the greater Lansing area. I have used a number of mechanics over the years for my maintenance and repair needs, and it seems like theres almost always something else that needs to be fixed when I take my car in for an oil change, a tire rotation, a repair, etc. Thankfully, theres none of that at this auto shop. The mechanics here perform top-notch work in a timely manner and without all of the annoying up-selling that happens at a LOT of shops. These guys know their stuff and are always honest and straight-up when providing information and answering questions. I took my first (and probably last) brand new car over to Ryans in the summer because there was an audible clicking noise coming from the steering rack and had Ryan take a quick look at it. He told me that they would have to take apart my car to in order find the issue, and that there would be a charge for it. He advised me that that a better option would be to contact my dealership and get them to take care of it before my warranty expired, as any issues would be fixed at no cost to me. In my defense, my previous cars were old beaters that were were well out of warranty at the time when I purchased them :) Simply put, you wont find a more capable and trustworthy auto shop in the surrounding area.

My 2009 Honda Accord (45k miles) wouldnt start, so a friends AAA towed it to a nearby mechanic. The problem was diagnosed as a bad fuel pump. I was quoted $690 for an aftermarket pump + labor. They said $840 for an OEM pump + labor.I looked online and found that I could get an OEM fuel pump for $300 shipped, and the labor time is 1.3 hours. Labor at $80/hr brings that raw quote to about $425 for the OEM parts + labor, after tax, before markup. Very different than $840 the shop wanted.I called and asked the original mechanic if they would install a pump I brought them, and they said that they dont install customer parts.After some searching I found Ryans, who said they would indeed install a customer part but that they couldnt guarantee it working. They also told me they were scheduled two days out so it would take a little time to get to it. I brought them the car, and after two days they called and told me I had a bad fuel pump relay. They quoted $140 parts + labor. I gladly accepted, hours later my car was running, and I drove my car home that evening.Decide for yourself if that sounds like a good mechanic. I know Im happy with them so far.
