The guy didnt cut them like i wanted. Then i have sharp edges where he didnt file them correctly. I went to tell him and he got up and went outside. Not happy at all.

They were very kind, easy to talk to, great at their job, and even recommended things to make my nails look the best. what made me love this place is while i was getting acrylics there was no pain or bleeding at the cuticle. amazing place will definitely be come back.

Let me start by saying my mom wanted to take me out for a nice afternoon of manicures and a balance. We were really excited. I called first to see if we could get an afternoon appointment and was told to ...just come in. I asked if they were busy and what the wait time would be and was told no, no, just come in.We get there and we were told to sign in, it would be a 45 minute wait, no same day appointments if made over the phone . Go walk around, we will call you when its time. Ok no biggie, although wanting to know the wait time was the reason why I called for an appointment originally..We did get a call a little after 45 minutes. My mom got a balance, it looks good but the guy named Tony was pushy and a bit rude. (It was stated he was the owner)I had a sweet lady who was new start mine. I am picky about my cuticles and wanted to make sure they were done right, to which Tony then had me sit at his table when he was done with my mom.He went through and cut some more cuticle then asked how I wanted them shaped. I pointed to one of my nails (that were all naturally long, they just needed shaped) and said I want them that shape but with rounded edge. He started on the other hand and I stopped him when I noticed it was much shorter than the original length and was super rounded, almost a dull pointy shape. I stated that wasnt the right shape and the nail looked funky. He then seemed to become aggitated and literally started arguing with me. Then he put the file beside my hand and said I could file them myself if I knew what I wanted. My right hand nails are much shorter and uneven and my left hand nails are longer and shaped better.I personally think he was irritated and got to the point of hurrying through. I say this because the sides of my nails arent painted and he didnt bother to match lengths.He was not the nicest person and very impatient (as in over talked, argued, and just got up and walked away at the end)I was to the point of tears. Ive never had such a bad experience. I believe that if youre paying $35-$50 plus tip for gel nail polish/ manicure, you should be able to make sure theyre exactly how you want them and not get argued with or berated when you correct them. I wasnt rude or angry...even after he seemed to be.He stated he had been doing this for 24 years.... With that type of experience you should have better customer service and patience. If you are the owner, Tony... You should be ashamed of your behavior.I live an hour and half from this nail salon and for good service and an excellent job done, Im willing to travel. Hmm......Lucky for me I have an awesome mom who always makes everything better. Thanks Mom :)Sidenote: The blood on my cuticle was from an after-the-salon hangnail not the salon. But the hangnail should have been taken care of while at the salon. My cuticles look even more awful. My nails were long and looked good before they started, they just needed a little gel polish for strength. SMH. I worked hard for weeks to keep my nails from breaking and fraying but 40 minutes here was all it took to ruin them..

Was okay for my first time going.. they confused me so much and then he gave a dirty look because I said I wanted more designs on my nails ???? Then they switched up.. and they were not very social at all.. I felt uncomfortable and like I was talking to a brick we wall I do not think I will be going there again

Modern Nails is a fantastic place to get your Girl Day on!!! Friendly people, a great place ti relax while getting you nails and toes done!! Massage chairs and great conversations included!! Tony and his family staff are the best!!

It was okay.. staff is nice, but I wish the girl who did my acrylics painted them herself and not switched with other worker, because he seemed like he was rushing and didn’t even get the chrome all over and you can see streaks where the black shows through.. I payed 80 dollars for uneven chrome color and didn’t even get a top coat to protect it 🥺☹️

I wish we could have been able to perform the service but time did not allow.Ad far as quoting one price and charging another we quote a starting price and then make it very clear that prices will be adjusted due to certain requests.I am very sorry you felt inconvenienced this evening. Modern nails have been doing my nails for over 10 years. Even with the new owners 3 or 4 years ago, I still have yet to be unhappy with any services.I Dont care what anyone else has to say, they are clean and professional 💯.I dont understand people stating it leaves a bad taste in there mouth.Really, fingers do not go in your mouth.Everyone has a preference to where they want there nails done. My preference is Lancaster ohio River Valley Mall. Im still continuing to go there after 10 years of good service. Sincerely a happy customer 😀

Have ALWAYS loved going here to get my nails done. I got mine done by a lovely lady who did a fantastic job. My sisters got their nails done too, my twin also by a lovely lady and my little sister by the owner, Tony. We got the pleasure of talking with him and he is one of the funniest and nicest people we’ve ever met. We have always loved when Tony does our nails because he does such a beautiful job. All 3 of us were blessed by the 2 wonderful women and by Tony, we all left satisfied and super happy. We will be coming back, like always!

Customers were not wearing masks. I understand that is difficult to enforce. However, the employee that did my pedicure did not wear a mask. It made me uncomfortable. I probably wont go back.

Per usual, I have no complaints. For the past 8 months, I have went to various other nail salons in this area; Modern Nails has been the most consistent, friendly, good atmosphere, and fairly reasonable prices etc. Each time I have gone, they have done an amazing job on my nails! Good colors, designs, and experience. If I request them to shape them a different, they will and ask to make sure you like it before proceeding! After looking around in this area, this is def. my pick and will continue coming back as a satisfied customer!

Extremely horrible nails!! not modern at all they are so RUDE and the lady with the bangs was extremely aggressive! TWO of my nails is beyond crooked I will be posting a picture!!! I said only costed $45 and she charged me 60for them, what a tip as well! Do you not go to this nail salon!

First time there yesterday, and not the best experience. I arrived yesterday around 6:30pm and just needed a gel polish change (no manicure- just polish change). I did not have to wait more than a couple minutes. I dont know if the guy is new/still learning but this is hands down the worst gel job I have ever received. You can see where it is uneven, poor/uneven coverage, sloppy around edges/cuticles and one nail has already chipped (literally did zero activities today that would cause chipping). To top it off, I did not leave until a few minutes before 8:00pm. I have had full sets of acrylic put on faster than that. By that point they were closing, and I had to get home to my kids so not even an opportunity to fix it. I dont even want to go back to get it fixed. I dont mind letting people practice, but at least let me know or give a discount or something- my daughters have given me better paint jobs than this. Definitely wont be back.

Rude. Arrived at 3( hours state open till 8) waited with my grand daughter for approx 10 minutes when operator turned sign to closed. We were then told to pick out our Color. While doing so, we were informed that unless we were paying with cash they wouldnt be able to serve us as their card processing machine hadnt been working all day. Clearly they just wanted to get out of there and had no interest in serving us.

Went there for a full set of acrylics and was so disappointed they are extremely thin I got them done not even a week ago. 3 days later my uneven sloppy gel was peeling. I went back and got that gel polish taken off and new put on it was even a different color. They did this for free which I appreciate. Both thumbs gel polish has completely peeled off and a couple other fingers chipping, they are definitely skipping out a step or using bad polish

Reviews can make or break a business. I havent been to modern nails in a long time but today I decided to try them. I was told 35 min wait but hed call me so I had lunch and came back. Tony did my nails he was social and quick and my acrylics look great. Ill go back for balance and let ya know how they look in about a month

Im very unsatisfied with this place. Ive had my nails done here many times in the past. Just had my nails done here about a month ago and was unhappy with the way they look and how uneven they are. I had went today to get my nails balance and they look horrible. You can completely see the line where they had grown out and where she put the new acrylic on. I paid to much money to have them look like crap. I will not rate this place because I feel they dont deserve it. To top it off it was two different people that did them last month and today. I also drove and hour away to have these done. Im a very unhappy customer.

I came here on a recommendation from my daughter for a pedicure. Let me just say it’s the best pedi I’ve ever had. I did the deluxe, it’s my first pedicure of the season so I knew my feet needed the extra after a long winter lol. It was relaxing fun and they did an amazing job. No more winter feet!! I’ll definitely come back. On weekdays they take appointments ask for Tim he is fun and very good!!

First time going on a Saturday afternoon. The end product was perfect for pedicure but the atmosphere in the salon was not as professional as I have received at other salons. Some of the staff members were very rude and did not seem like they wanted more customers as people signed in. Prices are about the same as others have been.

Very bad customer service PLUS got attitude for giving my opinion on MY nails, nails were crooked when he’s said they were supposed to be like that when I went to extreme nails and they were not.Very over priced, also they did horrible on shaping.

Charged me 53$ for a balance ill never go back i only tried it out because a review said the prices were cheap/reasonable. For the same exact thing i get anywhere else ive only ever been charged 35-40$ for but she charged me 53 and the nails dont even look great 2 are crooked. Wont be back

My daughter had A pedicure. She asked what the price was before she had it done the girl told her $18. After she was finished and went to pay they charged her $35. When she explained that the lady told her $18 the gentleman said I’m sorry her English is not that good. Absolutely Ridiculous!! Will never go here again

I have gone to modern nails every two weeks for the last 4 years. However, in last three months I have noticed a steady decline in the quality of my nails. I have never broken an acrylic nail before but lately I get breaks and chips within a week. This last time I got them done on a Sunday and by Tuesday already had a broken nail.The staff is great, the new owner and his wife are adorable but unfortunately, I wont be back. Im not sure if it is a change in product or technique but my nails look awful and I cant have that.

Fantastic experience, super friendly and they have “mad skills”. Couldn’t be happier.

I went to get just one nail fixed because i had chipped it off right before i walked in the mall. Ended up having to get polish removed and painted a whole new color, then was asked if i wanted a fill, my nails werent even grown out yet . Said no, and the lady seemed to be mad, then told her i wanted regular polish which was 15$ compared to gel for 25$, she seemed mad about that . So after she painted them, she said okay youre done and didnt even let me sit there to let my nails dry, or offer me the drying station . So my nail polish is all messed up now . She had a bad attitude and was very rude .
