I wanted to try and sell my marquise diamond ring unfortunately he already had quite a few and wasn’t looking to buy anymore. With that being said he gave me an appraisal and suggested another jeweler that might be interested. He was very intelligent and you could tell he’s been doing this for awhile. I would highly recommend this place. You can just tell he’s a very honest person.

It’s amazing how Lisa Pollack and Amanda Nichols have almost the same exact story of a grandmother’s ring that needed to be sized down. They both appreciated the cleaning, too. They even used the same words to express their delight!

Steven is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and honest. He spent a lot of time to speak with my husband about jewelry we were looking to sell, explaining his pricing approach and even made recommendations about how we might be able to sell for more. His jewelry collections for sale are stunning and reasonably priced.

Adding to original review:Since Steve treated me so well when I sold my items, I went back to him to look for a wedding ring. He had a sweet old ring with an inscription from 1953 (which he removed) that fits right on top of my engagement ring. And, it was reasonably priced! Capital Estate doesnt look like much from the outside, but its whats on the inside that counts, and thats Steve. After talking to a few dealers, I went to Capital Estate Jewelers. Like others have said, Steve is a very nice man. And he offered me what I think was a fair price. It’s so hard to know, right? But even if I’d sold the pieces for double on consignment, I’d still probably get what he paid me. I know he has to make money too. What finally convinced me to sell to him was that he will try to sell the pieces intact, not just melt them down. I hope they find a home and will be worn!

I live up in the mountains, and had recently gotten engaged. The ring is a family heirloom - from my fiancé’s great great grandmother. It had to be sized down to half its size (size 8 to size 4) and I was very nervous about bringing it in to someone who wasn’t familiar with working on antique rings. Steve immediately knew what he was looking at, and gave me full confidence that the ring was in great hands for the adjustment. He even was able to give us some historical context on the ring and its design. He did a fantastic job even having to put an entirely new band on the ring and finished up the job super quickly. Plus he cleaned up the ring so I hardly recognized it - it sparkled so much! SO happy we found Capital Estate Jewelers - highly recommend!

Steve is the absolute best! My Father passed away this year and I was very lucky to get his wedding ring, which needed to be resized. I was very apprehensive about taking my Father’s ring because it has a beautiful engraving on the inside. Steve is very kind, smart, and extremely talented. He did a tremendous job on my Father’s ring, and also gave me some history behind the ring which I did not know! I cried happy tears when I got it back and was blown away with how beautiful it looked. If you need any jewelry work this is THE place! Forever grateful!! Steve is the only jeweler I would take any of my jewelry. He is so versatile, and not only has beautiful pieces there but he created a wedding piece for us. He also is kind, caring, trustworthy, knowledgeable and timely. Highly recommend, Steve and this diamond in the rough.

My boyfriend proposed a week and a half before we were supposed to leave for Christmas. Which was awesome, except that it was his Grandmothers ring, and it was WAY too big! I couldnt even wear it! After looking around online, I realized that the ring would be particularly difficult to size because of its design, and I lost all hope of having it back in time before we left to see our family. Luckily, I saw the great reviews that Capital Estate already had and decided to give it a try. I couldnt have made a better choice! The owner was patient and helpful, and he did such an amazing job on my ring! He did it in under half the time most websites said to expect to have it done, and his price was very reasonable. And it is perfect! Its so sparkly and gorgeous that I barely recognized it! Dont pass this place up!

Going by my own personal experiences with capital estate jewelers, in my opinion, Steve is the most honest, respectable man in the jewelery business, not going to him first for your jewelry needs would be a disservice to yourself.

We came in to get my wifes necklace fixed. The stone had fallen out. The guy in the store took it straight back and started to work on it. We browsed for the 5 to 8 minutes he was working it. 5 bucks for the repair. Very happy with the repair. We will bring future repairs here.

No pressure and very helpful. The owner knows diamonds very well and can optimize quality and cost expertly. In my opinion you can get a much better ring for a lower cost than some of the chains.

Not too many places (or people) left like this. Ive been buying from Steve for almost a decade. Hes a family man and runs a respectable business. I trust him.
