Its a nice facility but they WILL rip you off. I cancelled my membership and they kept charging me the monthly fee for another few months, then they charged me another annual fee. They refused to refund me. They have also pulled similar stunts on every single person I know who has had a membership there. They charged one of my family members for months after they ended their membership, they offered a different family member a membership deal which they later refused to honor, and a friend of mine got double charged for a few months during his membership. There is no customer support phone number, if you ask they will give you two dud numbers that I called then sat on hold for 4 hours on each number before disconnecting. I cant wait for the class action lawsuit that is inevitably going to happen...

You have to wait to use the free weights and to cancel a membership they make it as inconvenient as possible for you. Its easier to cancel your credit card than to cancel here. They require you to come in during business hours m-f 9-6pm....just a scam to steal your money and keep you on the monthly take. If you need to use a gym short term you are better off going elsewhere. Terrible!

The price is ok, but there are always buckets everywhere from the ceiling leaking. The machines are good and the staff is friendly. The training area is really nice as well.

I was really disappointed that they fought us on canceling our group workouts once the Delta variant started to flare up. Don’t sign any contracts if you are worried. The only reason we were allowed to cancel was because our trainer forgot to have us sign the paperwork. We experienced poor customer service with this issue. The front desk acts like they couldn’t care less if you are there.

Good, clean gym. Its almost always busy. I appreciate their grind, but there are many teenagers. I feel like Im at a high school gym most of the time.

Robbery! Haven’t been able to come here in months due to working constantly. I call to cancel 2 months ago & they won’t let me cancel by phone. Ok doesn’t make sense to me but I go in on my one day off & then they say it has to be between certain hours?! The gym was open it was around 6pm on a weekday what better hours could I be coming? So I wasn’t able to cancel & have been getting charged for the past 2 months. I go in again to cancel today between the hours they told me to last time & then they say I need to go to the Sanford location to cancel! Are you kidding me? How is this legal? This is place is a scam that traps their paying customers. Not to mention the place was always slam packed when I was able to go.

The opening hours are very short on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They said they would open even 24 hours, stayed on a promise.

The gym looks well-maintained. It’s a pretty busy gym, especially in the afternoon (after school gets out). All equipment looks to be functional. There’s a good assortment of brands, even across specific muscle groups. A TRX and CrossFit type training area exists also, in addition to a small lap pool.

This happened in ESPORTA Lake Mary branch, they don’t communicate well esp. on the rules on the kids club. at first it was ok but today i got warned with so many rules that the maximum time for the kids to be there is 2 hours only and i have not seen a written rules/regulations or hear them tell me on the rules beforehand. another one is that the kids can’t go pass the desk eventhough we just went to the men’s restroom to wash their hands and also i saw some kids with their parents go pass their desk as well before we did it. there is no written rules on their kids club, they did not orient us on the rules beforehand. poor communication and very unprofessional in dealing with the problem.

I went for a trial, they told me I had a week to decide whether I liked or not and if I canceled before the week no fees will be charged, However I went 2 days with my wife and both times it was completely packed and we were unable to use the equipment so we decided that it was not worth it. I went to cancel day 3 and they started giving me the run around saying that the regional manager was on vacation and that they were unable to cancel, to come back another day, I went back day 5 before the week ended so I didnt get charged any fees and they gave me the run around again but now they were asking me for $27 to cancel so I paid it and they said that was it EVERYTHING WAS CANCELED. However a couple of days later they hit my account with a $52 charge for the anual fee. so I ENDED UP PAYING ABOUT $80 FOR A 2 DAY TRIAL IN A PLACE THAT I COULD NB]OT EVEN WORK OUT. MANAGERS DONT CARE THEY ARE USED TO TAKING PEOPLES MONEY JUST LIKE THAT! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. STAY AWAY.

Good gym, always clean. Well spaced out. Plenty of sprays and paper towels to wipe machines before abs after use. Nice to see cleaning staff walking around too

The charged me 25.00 dollars for process fee that they offered to refund. They never process the refund so I canceled the membership.

I have membership at this gym and I absolutely love it everything that was discussed to me before I decided to sign up whats the truth a lot of salesman like to sugarcoat or lie but the salesman was very professional and offered me the best for me

I love it. Just wish they had some tanning beds/ booths. Theres plenty of room for them upstairs. Tanning would bring more memberships...and you could charge an extra ten a month or something.Great yoga classes. Any machine you could want is here.

This gym has ALOT of really fit people in it. It can be a double edged sword depending on tour attitude. It will either motivate you to be better. Or scare you away. I choose motivation to be better 😌

After being out with corona for a couple months and getting charged I called to ask if I could get refunded half the money back, mind you I have not been inside this gym since early december. Not only would they not refund any money, but wouldnt let me cancel my membership. I have a hard time believing that businesses can take advantage of people like that during a pandemic.

The gym is clean and the equipment is well-maintained. I swim here 4x per week and there are excellent mask and social distancing protocols. My one complaint is that they frequently (several times a week) have men cleaning the ladies bathrooms and change area. It is physically unpleasant and emotionally challenging to have to parade through the main gym in my wet bathing suit.

LA Fitness / Esporta (Lake Mary location) gym is great!

The gym works really well. I dont have a trainer but swim and use equipment a few days a week. The pool is very adequate for lap swimming and there is always a lane. The sauna is at 180F, at least that is what the sign says. Everything is in perfect working order.

Its hard to believe this is a company operating in 2020. They will email you a form to cancel your membership (cancelling because they are not open during same pre-Covid hours and I cant go now) but can only accept it being mailed not emailed back. Great way to get another month of dues out of me!

Liked it better before the remodel. Still the best gym in town. Always clean. Lots of options so even when it’s busy you have several options for the same exercise. I enjoy the hoist machines

Excellent facility to workout

Clean, modern and compared to other LA fitness I have visited it’s well maintained. Staff is friendly and nice. My only regret would be there’s no glass shower doors or shampoo/conditioner and the bathrooms are hot, I often take a shower and come out of the bathroom sweatier than I went in.

This LA Fitness is my favorite location, its better than my home location Waterford. Its clean and a lot of space in the free weight section. The renovations they prior were beneficial. Literally the only reason i keep my membership since its close to work as well.

LA fitness is so lucky to have a great sales man and fitness mentor like Mr. D Rivera. BTW most of the employees are just shallow and hard to ask questions about anything. Thank you Dustin for accommodating our needs and making sure we are comfortable there.

Exelenteafter 6 pm until 1 pm the gym runs out of toilet paper and is very dirty. It is incredible that they did not value the work of Mrs. GIMENA. I was surprised that she is no longer working. Recently renovated. Big box style gym, lots of cardio equipment. We go regularly, and only sometimes on the weekend is the weight section busy enough that you must wait for equipment. Small pool, sauna available - but I have not used those yet myself. Showers and changing room are clean. Toilet stalls often are out of order in the ladies room, oddly.

Where this place once ranged freon6 meh to OK, its now solidly, well, solid! Theyre cleaning the place (especially the bathrooms) much more vigorously theyve put in new equipment thats not periodically out of order, theyve put in a pool, and filtered water fountains. What more do you need?

This is definitely one of if not the BEST gym/fitness club facilities in the area. All of the equipment and amenities you could ask for in addition its a bright,clean upbeat environment. Highly recommend it!

Clean, up to date facility. Dumbbells only go up to 100 though. A lot of the upgraded equipment is more ergonomic. Mens bathroom faucets dont have hot water.

When you sign up, they will make sure you feel welcome and make it sound like the perfect place. However, they don’t make you aware of the date that the annual fee comes out. When you call about it, they treat you like you don’t matter and that there is nothing they can do. They are only in it for the money more than customer service. It’s ok to have annual fees, but at least make sure people know when it is gonna come so it’s not random. This place was definitely not the place I thought it was gonna be.

Good clean gym with most everything you need. Good value for the price. As i would not say there is a 5 star gym in the Orlando area, this is as good as it gets.

Completely re done! All the equipment is spread out and not on top of each other. Its smaller than some gyms but that just keeps the crowds down. New pool and plenty of classes to enjoy.

So far, so good. This is the first month of my membership. Ive gone about 5 times now. Almost all the equipment is working. There are plenty of machines (strength training and cardiovascular), which is their strong point. There is not as much room for free weights like the dumbbell and barbell since a big portion of their gym is purposed for area with trainers only. I have not attended any class yet, but they seem to have a pretty wide schedule. The hours are pretty good, open at times that are convenient for, say, 95% of people out there. I decided to skip the free fitness evaluation session where you meet with the head honcho, since I am not interested in a trainer at this time and didnt feel like getting a sales pitch. My friend, however, was possibly interested in a trainer and attended the free session. After that, my friend was convinced to hire a trainer and is doing well with their trainer.Theres quite a bit of freedom. You can attend any class you want at no extra charge. You can skip the training sales pitch if you want or use a trainer if you want. Trainers can be expensive, but are effective for some people.

Ive been at this gym for a while now. I was happy to leave PF. First off the layout of the machines is horrible. All like machines should be in the same area. Why one ab machine is downstairs while most of the others are upstairs is odd to me. Learning the layout is like a scavenger hunt. Secondly its so incredibly hot in this location. They added stand up fans but come on. I have to use the bike room sometimes just to cool down. The free weight section is a mess, they need more benches and cables. The wasted personal training equipment is never being used and only is allowed by personal trainers. Basically all that equipment just sits there to look pretty because no ones ever using it. The bathrooms arent the greatest but I dont use them often so I dont care. I agree there needs to be more wipes and paper towels so more people would clean the machines after. I use the gym because its a great price and good location for me. I have to work out at off times to get a true workout in. I could be okay with this place if the A/C worked well and they added more benches in the free weights area. Dont even try to workout in the evening on Monday.

OMG best LA Fitness Ive been to!!! Its huge and has tons of machines and I liked how I could privately work out upstairs in the group fitness room when its not occupied with a class. I only wish this was my home gym instead. =(

The manager chase lied to me to my face saying there wouldnt be a cancelation fee and I got charged $50 for a month never coming back...

Im a first timer and its a new gym so its hard to be critical. The gym looks smaller than many others Ive been to but the equipment is new and plentiful. My only negative is there is no water pressure in the shower yikes. Parking is a premium good luck during peak hours finding a parking spot. The meat heads are just as lazy here as all the other locations so Im guessing this location will be a dump within a year. For now I recommend it.

I love this gym the layout is GREAT! This is one of the few La Fitness locations that are open till midnight. The best thing is that it doesnt have the pointless amenities like a swimming pool and basketball court. Another plus is that the dumbbells go heavier then any other LA fitness around. All other locations stop at 125lbs. This is definitely a place for a serious lifter. Not a Hardcore gym but, better then the other fluffy La Fitness gyms.

I have been to many of the other LA Fitness locations in Central Florida and this one is by far the cleanest! The locker rooms have a nice set up too. I dont use the pool or other amenities that are at other locations, so Im not missing anything.

I’m curious...I searched for racquetball courts in the Sanford area and this gym came up. Does LA Fitness have racquetball?

This gym shouldnt even be called LA Fitness. Its a disgrace. Its only about 3 min from my house so I like the convenience but I am about to start waking up even earlier to have a decent time at the gym! From the minute you walk in its unwelcoming. They have maybe 1 nice girl who works up front. The rest suck and have no idea why theyre there. Its prob not their fault. The trainers all have bad attitudes and are rude. Act as if theyre better than everyone else and they have priority over everyone else. They cant even keep managers! I swear every time I need to talk about my account theyre in between managers and they have no time limit to get a new one. This place is dirty. I never see anyone clean the equipment. Benches have sweat makes.My one compliment is the class instructors are awesome. I love Debras yoga classes! I would come here just for her.Who the heck is running this business and is the owner actually proud of this location? I wouldnt be.

Used to be good. Now dirty and ac never turned down. Its like 80 degrees in there. The locker room feels like a sauna. Soap always empty, bathroom always smells like pee, I really dont feel like the workers care at all about the place. Update, theyre closing for 6 months for renovation. Theyre doing nothing for you. Not one close enough for convenience. Save your money. Go anywhere else.

Great gym, great atmosphere, clean and very friendly staff and trainers! Those posting negative comments about people not wiping down the equipment, has nothing to do with the gym itself but those dirty ppl who feel the need to not clean after themselves. You can always just clean the equipment before and after you use it, to easy. Everyday there’s always someone cleaning the locker room, cardio equipment, refilling the paper towel dispensers, and mopping the floors. One of the cleanest gyms I’ve ever been too. Always make you feel like family, by greeting you when they see you. Hands down best gym around and I went to 5 other gyms before coming to this one!

If you need help with something they will help you no problem. The people giving bad reviews make no sense. I’ve been a part of LA fitness since i was 16! And i love it! This new remodel is fabulous . Only bad thing i have to say is that for the 1st time ever a trainer was rude. I know the training section is for people that pay for the trainers and what not, but I’ve always asked to step into it while NO ONE was in there and never had issues. Today i was about to do box jumps just a quick set a trainer walks over extremely rude and asked if we paid for training sessions. I said no but I’m just doing box jumps real quick As i look around and there isn’t a single person in there and of course i wouldn’t want to take away from “their “ equipment. And trust me i get it it’s foe trainers and their clients. I used to train with a trainer before my college vball career. I just think there is a different way to speak to people and it gave me a bad taste. In almost 10 years I’ve been at this gym I’ve never had anyone 1 have an issue with something like that 2 speak to me with so rude. No one has cared before if i used anything in there and i would never get in the su of training or anythingOther than that encounter today, i Love la fitness!

Hi! I’m going to attempt to remain objective here and state facts about our experience with LA Fitness, in hopes of preventing neighbors and friends from being taken advantage of!After several weeks of research and cancelling a 7 year membership after many years at another gym, we decided to sign up at LA Fitness in Lake Mary, FL. I did see many negative reviews, but Chase seemed very welcoming and convincing. My husband and I both inquired about the rumor of upcoming construction and renovations and were assured multiple times that the gym would remain open to members and closed off only in sections. We recently found out by a community member (not even staff) that the gym is closing for at least 6 months for renovations. This opposes what we were told when we signed up on October 6th. LA Fitness took hundreds of dollars from us (298.49 to be exact) and lied to us about upcoming services provided.My husband called and talked to Tony on 11/18/17 and was casually informed we could travel to an alternate LA Fitness gym or pay another fee to freeze the account. Tony has been awful to work with in the past (so I hear from several people in the community) and clearly does not put the customer first. He said nothing to show he cared, nor did he refer is to someone who can research our case. We are just another number in the system and feel betrayed by the staff at the Lake Mary gym. No form of email, text, or phone call was sent out to members personally notifying them or professionally advising of the upcoming change and long term closure in two weeks.We would have never signed up there knowing this information…and it should have been told to us. Please be careful and take great caution should you decide to enroll at LA Fitness. Not a good experience and beyond subpar customer service.

Love the gym overall but it is an older location that could be renovated. Most locations have juice bars, racquet ball courts, pool, etc. This location could use an upgrade but it is very convenient and has great staff.

I don’t usually go to LA fitness, but this one is WAY better than any other that I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot. They have enormous ceiling fans that actually keep the place cool in the summer, and a lot more space to workout than most

I was so happy to join this place but after few times I didn’t want to go back anymore. Ladies locker room is always so dirty, watching personal trainer “train” people just hurts my eyes. Never even checks customer forms or anything.. seems like the trainer needs a little training. Have been trying to cancel my membership for few weeks now. Called everywhere, no one ever received my papers which I don’t believe because I even mailed TWO just in case because I heard they like to make cancelation complicated. Called to another la they said I can take the form to the closest club, I was told the same thing thru email when I messaged them thru their app. Well called to my closest la now and they said that’s not how it works and that I have to mail it. Unprofessional. Now I have to pay for extra month that I won’t be using because of the “amazing” customer care.

I had a terrible experience with the personal trainer Tom H. When you enroll, you have a meeting with a personal trainer. He was condescending, rude, and money hungry. He basically says you wont get any results unless you hire a trainer. Keep in mind, I am 53 and weigh 128lbs. He was so agressive. I felt more stressed than I did at a time share presentation. I actually ended up leaving before we even began discussing the workout. If you sign up, stay away from him. I talked to the manager about him, but apparently his bullying tactics are successful so LA wont get rid of him.Other than that, I like the gym a lot. The classes are good and the childcare is excellent. I would recommend it.

The best instructors hold the least classes. Even though these ladies work their butts off to help us get fit, they are not supplied with the tools they need. There arent enough mats, the sounds system is out of date, and good luck finding the dumbbells that you need if youre not early. Its just too expensive of a gym to have so many issues.

Even though Im sure there are some who will disagree, and whites may say Im using the race card, but hear me out! First of all, I am US veteran who has been in many multicultural environments and have had many interracial relationships so thats not the case, BUT...the White people here DO NOT want Blacks here at all! The Blacks who do attend this gym are what you call Uncle Toms who are just as discriminatory as the Whites! I guess recent events with police shooting innocent Black men gives all the reason to show their true colors!

I go to different LA fitness, and so far this is my first choice. It is relatively new and clean. Lot of parking spaces and places to eat after working out.

It would be nice if LA fitness would stop posting opening dates just to keep extending them time and time again. I’ve had it with them. I’m staying at 24 hour fitness

Normally, I talk highly about gyms. But this place.This place lacks cleanliness. The sauna is disgusting and has a black matter growing around the heater system. Then when you go to use the showers. Every-single one of them has mold on the walls and floor.The mats are all disgusting looking an ratty. An everytime I have gone in there the weights are everywhere but in the correct locations.Other than that its open longer than Altamonte Springs.

Ive been a part of this LA Fitness for two years and today Im putting my foot down and leaving for good! When gym equipment goes out of service youre looking at least at three weeks before it gets repaired, half the barbells are bent, almost all the cable attachments are missing their grips, the music they play has got worse and dont even get me started on the water fountain situation. The only friendly staff are those working at the front desk. Sales counselors carry their attitude like a used car salesman and the upper management is very amateur when it comes to catering to their members. Looks like another corporate gym is starting to evolve into planet fitness and dont welcome excessive noise or weights dropping as the weekend manager interrupted me to use lighter weight and stop making noise. I thought this was a gym/fitness center not an adult daycare.

Cleanliness has been much improved the last few months and you cant beat the friendly helpful staff that are always willing to do what it takes to improve my experience... I highly recommend this gym to everyone no matter what your fitness level is

Dirty dirty dirty. Looks like the machines have never been cleaned- crumbs and dust in every crevice. Machines often broke. Much smaller than any other LA fitness for the same high price. No pool. No courts. When I signed up 2 years ago, we were promised a newer bigger gym in the near future; the space we were told it would be built in is now an athletic depot. Quite a disappointment. The only saving grace is the friendly staff.
