Installed a French drain along the bottom of our foundation wall. They dug a four foot trench to install it, and then used backfill dirt to prevent further water damage. A good crew with great communication and leadership. Clarified and listened when there were questions that came up. Even left the hose curled back up in its spot at the end of the job.

To put it bluntly, Bradys communication is awful. He promises one thing on the phone and then rarely follows through on his commitments. We had a full house remodel a few years ago, and although he hired wonderful subs and the project manager was fantastic (our remodel turned out beautiful), the entire experience was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had with contractors. We would agree on times in which to communicate for updates, and he wouldnt answer the phone or show up on time...over and over again. It never seemed like he was genuine or really cared about his clients, and it always felt that his time was WAY more valuable than anyone elses. This past month we had a leak in our basement, and we can quibble about whos fault it is and whether or not Bradys team repaired the sewer line appropriately (we still very much disagree that it was appropriately fixed), but the bottom line is that never once, through our multiple experiences with Brady and his company did we feel like he gave a damn, and ultimately thats our biggest complaint and why we wouldnt recommend him to others.

Needed some foundation work done to reinforce my basement wall. Van Matre Construction came highly recommended. Took care if the permit and performed the work in a day and a half. Very professional and efficient.

We had Van Matre install 12 additional support piers to our home to shore up our foundation prior to a remodel. The cost was about 75% of the cost for a comparable fix with a competitor. The guys (Michael et al.) were super respectful of our home (access to the crawlspace is through our bedroom) and wore masks (COVID) when interacting with us. And five months after the initial work, once the foundation of the additional piers had settled, Michael and Willis even came back to tighten the piers and adjust the shims. I have been incredibly impressed and happy with Van Matre. They have done great work, been conscientious about our home, and were really a pleasure to deal with.

Van Matre Construction fixed a foundation problem I had in a 100 year old commercial building. The job required a high level of expertise which they provided. They took care of my tenants and the neighbors and worked with the city permit process very nicely. The crew was careful in doing their work and great to work with. They knew what to do and did it without interrupting any of the surrounding neighbors and businesses. They were recommended to me by a local businessman and I would highly recommend them to others experiencing a foundation issue.

When prepping for a remodel and the structural engineer said we needed basement support, we called Van Matre, who were referred by our builder. We werent disappointed. Seven helical piers later and cracks properly sealed, we are ready to move forward with our project.The entire Van Matre team were incredibly knowledgable and helpful in explaining the process and showing me their progress at every stage. I highly recommend!

Van Matre came out took care of my foundation issue. At first, the job wasnt completed to our satisfaction. After reaching out to the sales rep, the team came back out and took care of each of my issues. Its rare that a company is willing to step up and take care of customers these days so it has my endorsement.

We are so grateful to Brady and his team! An engineer friend recommended him, and Im so glad he did. Bradys quote was reasonable, but not the very lowest. After a bit of talking through the project with him, it became clear that he would do a more thorough job and fix the problem correctly the first time. We couldnt be happier with the result. Weve now used him twice, initially for a smaller job and recently for a larger project. Both times, weve been thrilled with the level of service, patience, and attention to detail. Bradys kindness and good sense of humor got me through the inherent stress of having this type of work done. He explained the timeline clearly, and finished the work on schedule and budget. We worked with Van Matre on our house located in the mountains above Boulder. The foundations needed some micro-piling installed as the structure was starting to slip down the slope. Brady and his team managed to bring their equipment on site by displaying great ingenuity (and hard work) and completed the work on time and on budget. All of his team members were nice, polite and punctual and I would highly recommend their services to whoever is in need of some structural work.

We faced a significant foundation repair on a 1908 Denver Square, with a brick foundation. From the beginning, Brady was willing to discuss the possible repair options and rough costs in quite a lot of detail. Ultimately he connected us with an engineer to produce drawings, and we put that out to bid. Van Matre Construction ultimately brought the most experience and confidence to the job, and Brady spent very many hours on the phone with me to review the work both before and during the repairs.The crew were all friendly, very skilled, and very knowledgeable, and they did great work including on clean-up. Taking care of the punch list items was no problem, and we now have a stable foundation and can proceed with the basement remodel knowing we wont have to open up the walls for additional repairs.Brady is friendly, knowledgeable, and fair -- and a great communicator which was critical for us since we live out of state.

Incredibly disappointed- Van Matre gave us a quote for a job last August and we accepted their bid. 8 months and multiple phone calls later and I cannot get them to actually come out and complete the job. I went with them initially because of their good reviews, so figured I would post my experience. Ours was supposed to be a one day job for $5000-$6000. I have spoken to the owner Brady several times. When I spoke with him in October he said they would schedule us in December. December 2018 he told me that they got some bigger (presumably higher paying) jobs after they gave us our quote, and that they were going to do those first and bump us back, but that were were in line to get our done in hopefully January. They didnt come. I spoke with him again in April, and he left me a voicemail saying he apologized and that they dropped the ball. However, when I got a hold of him and asked him for a date, he ultimately still wouldnt give me one. He said, again, that they have gotten additional bigger (that still says to me higher paying) jobs so they are going to do those first and bump us back again, but that he would take a look at his calendar and that I should call him the next day for a date. He never returned my call.

Ive had several questions/concerns about the foundation in my Boulder home, and Brady and Co. have conveniently made site visits and taken phone calls to patiently, cordially, and informatively give me the answers. Great, knowledgeable customer service without the hard sales push. As an out-of-town home owner, working with local businesses is always a preference. I depend upon trust-worthy, honest advice and will definitely have Van Matre construction do the work.

We were having some settling issues and though we might need some helical piers so we called Brady out to take a look. He checked out our crawlspace and foundation and looked at some minor cracks. After his inspection, he told us that the settling was very minor and and jokingly said he could sell us some piers, but recommended we try to get some drainage issues taken care of and unless the minor crack in the wall ( which I had patched) doesnt come back we should not worry about it. That is the kind of honesty and integrity that convinced me that if I ever needed foundation work I would call him. I am an avid supporter of people who treat me right and that is why I wanted to take time to write this review.

Van Matres guys showed up and were very professional, courteous and answered all my questions. They suggested doing 5 helical piers and thanks to their expertise I was able to keep a home which has been dear to our family for over 85 years. I highly recommend Van Matre Construction as the all around expert in foundation repairs.

I was looking to buy a home that reportedly had foundation issues. There was a huge quote from Rods Complete Basement, including 13 piers, and an engineer had also suggested piers to fix foundation, though only 3. Met with Brady Van Metre for 1.5 hours, no charge, and he proceeded to explain that foundation was fine and what was wrong was heaving floors pushing up walls that werent floated correctly. Upon removal of walls, house settled back down, cracks closed up. Pretty amazing actually. Also turns out, foundation was in great condition, no issues whatsoever. Brady also reinspected at no cost, and gave great advice. I will never call anyone else for foundation and construction projects, as I was highly impressed.
