Service was spotty at times. Both cable and internet. Intro offer was great. After the intro special expired the price increased steeply and quickly. Finally canceled service it took over 35 days to receive a equipment return quit from FedEx. WOW threatened to bill me for not returning the equipment. Explore other options. I am sure you will not regret passing over WOW.

Happy with their service for years. Then I needed to cancel. Several hoops to jump through. When finally cancelled, the refund was sent on a debit card. When you go the website to request a bank transfer, it doesnt function properly. I paid them every month with my credit card. They should refund it to my credit card.

I have had wow for a few years now, and in the beginning it was great. Ive had the same modem since I started. Last few months has been challenging. Also the price has increased a few times within a year or so. I would switch to Xfinity if it wasnt a $100 installation fee.

TRUST NOTHING you hear from any other them and add at least 25% to what they are telling you your service bill will be. Liars. I have had them now 2x. Once, I kept them for a month before cancelling. The second time, was worse. Trust me, FIND another provider!!

I would give them 0 stars if I could; the equipment was shipped back to them in the box they sent and have a tracking # from FEDX. They still sent a bill for twice the equipment cost. I called at least 10 times and have had around 7 case #’s with no resolution; the bill was sent to collections, so I went ahead and payed it. What a RIP!

We live in zip code 37909. We call them to install internet and they told us they would be here from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We were waiting all day and after we called in late afternoon, they told us that they did not have service in this area. Horrible customer service and I will never contact them again. They did the same to us some months ago about their TV service. Do not waste your time!

Terrible, terrible internet. Goes down for long periods of time, slow/barely works while its up. I have WOW! at home but Im currently using my mobile hotspot to write this review. The advice they give when you call is to unplug/plug the router after being on hold for an hour. I think anyone whos been online for longer than a week knows to do that; I certainly dont need my time wasted to be told that. Afterwards they schedule to send a worker who 90% of the time doesnt show when scheduled, so youre missing internet for a few days. Ive had projects and work ruined because of this company; and its not like Ive ever been reimbursed by them.Avoid at all costs. Go to a McDonalds or Starbucks parking lot instead; they probably have better service/more reliability.

Watch out for the 2 year contract they put you in! I had specifically mentioned not wanting a contract and was assured it was month to month by the sales guy that came to my house. When I went to cancel I was hit with at $210 disconnect fee!The service itself was fine for me with occasional hiccups or downtime.I switched to ATT who offered a dedicated gigabit fiber connection for $5 more than I was paying WOW for 500mb connection.Do your homework is all I suggest before you sign up and confirm any contract info. My bad for not taking the time to read the entire paperwork. Learn from my mistake.

Customer service stinks! I waited on hold/ignore for almost 30 minutes only to get a representative who did not speak clear English, nor did she actually listen to my questions. She gave me one piece of information which helped me understand the flyer that WOW included with my bill, in a font size meant for fleas. But she kept saying things like, since you have a new service -- which I do not, so I dont know whose account she was really looking at.THEN my call got cut off. No way was I going to waste another hour trying to get them to do their job. Since the other internet/phone providers have an even worse reputation, I suppose Ill stay with WOW, until their constant rate increases force me out.

I closed my account 8/29. My bill for 94.$ this was my monthly bill for phone and internet due to the fact I would not take a contract. The first guy I spoke to (I will be nice) just read the bill to me line by line. I finally spoke to someone who realized I wanted a corrected bill. I was not paying for a full month and the and wait for a credit. New balance $3.14 wow

The only ISP that appears to be completely incapable of setting up the internet successfully the first time. Ive used WOW twice to avoid Comcast and BOTH times theyve had the technician leave saying its booting up despite me asking them to stay only for it to not work and require a second technician come out to set up my service.The best part: the customer service line is great at blaming you: its your modem that doesnt work, its actually because theres a 24 hour delay you need to be patient, etc. Only for NONE of that to be true and their first technician just blatantly didnt do the job correctly. Thanks Wow.Edited to add: I also routinely have < 0.1 Mbps speeds on a service where I pay for 1,000 Mbps (1 Gbps). Thanks Wow! Youve really outdone yourself!

As far as the facilities go, the lobby and desk area are fairly bare. However, as someone simply looking for a new service provider, the help provided by the staff was excellent. I already knew which service and equipment I needed beforehand, and the staff were able to fill in information gaps and wave the installation fee. The service so far has been reliable, fast, and affordable. The only reason I do not leave 5 stars is that the installer (nice as he was) left muddy shoe prints on the carpet.

We were with WOW internet for three years and suffered slow speeds with excessive buffering. We finally decided it wasnt getting better and ended our service. We took our equipment back to the office, cancelled our service, and requested our final balance. We were told we had none. Four months later I received a late notice for a bill I had never received with months of late charges added. When I called the office to inquire and let them know I had been told I did not have balance and no bill was sent, there was little explanation but a demand that it be paid. I requested proof of the bill which was received weeks later right before a notice that my balance had been turned over to a collection agency - a balance of which I had just been informed. I paid it to prevent damage to my credit but suspect they pull this drill regularly to pad their pockets. I always paid my bill and was in good standing to this point. DO NOT use WOW. They have unethical and deceptive business practices. I will be reporting them to the BBB and letting everyone I know to be very careful in any dealings with this company.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had. They said they would hook up my internet and tv on March 24. They never showed up. I rescheduled for March 25. Still no one showed up. I’m on hold now (for 30 minutes) to see when they will actually show up. This is the only provider for the apartment I moved into.

I rate WOW! a -1. This company is a disgrace of a business. Every hour the connection spazzes out and the screen blacks out for a few seconds. Also the on demand takes forever to load and half the time never works. The design of it reminds you of something from the early 2000s. I know this is a local small business but I definitely DO NOT SUPPORT!!!!!

I have gotten the runaround for 3 MONTHS about a refund after they failed to cancel my account when I initially asked.The person I was originally told to call never answered or replied to the voice mail I left. The people that I have talked to on the phone that work for customer service are nice, but I have been told different things almost EVERY time I have called. I will never use this company again, the system they use seems so disorganized.

I have had Wow cable and internet service since they were Knolgy.Cable: I pay $140 a month for cable and internet service and this does not include any premium channels or high speed internet. My bill increases every single year. The cable goes out constantly for hours or days at a time (way more than a satallite dish). I can only record two programs at a time and you cant watch any other channel which means you are forced to watch one of the two recordings...which defeats the point of recording. I have a DVR in one room only and I was not given a cable box in the 2nd room; therefore, I can only watch certain channels in the 2nd room. On Demand hardly ever works.Internet: Very slow and almost non-existent. I can only stream for 2 hours or less before the internet freezes for the next 24 hrs.Customer service: The wait/hold time is always 30 mins to an hour before someone picks up the line. My cable has been out for over 2 hrs as we speak and customer service could not help.I the service gets worse each year and I will be canceling. Stay away from Wow! or you will regret it.

Wow! What an awful company! Wow! What incompetent service! Been a customer for a few years, and the monthly bill has INCREASED by 4-times and AFTER I called to ask them for a decrease in our services & associated costs. They promised me and quoted a significantly reduced rate --- and they LIED! These people could screw-up a 1-car funeral. They could burn popcorn to a crisp. They cannot or will not truthfully answer questions. Their phone-tree & Internet page(s) are absolutely idiotic and reflective on their low level of service. In short, they are FIRED. Ive tried them before (when they were Knology) and tried them again, after being promised an improvement in their service and human trouble-shooting, but all Ive received is entirely crappy Internet speeds (but with fantastic equipment in the home) and a totally out-of-control i& increased bill, without any explanation or really, any concern by these incompetent folks. Their telephone reps are from India, and exhibit extremely poor English comprehension and communication. Grade D-minus language competency. What a sad experience Wow has been. Goodbye Wow, and Ill see you at the counter to cancel my account in person. These people are going out of business. Its finally over. As not-Wow is actually bad, sad & obviously not long for the world of being in business. Wish they couldve cut the mustard. It was a good concept.

In the past we had Comcast but it lacked connection every evening. We switched to WOW due to promise of fast, multiple devices and connection. However, this is not the case. We ended up having 2 techs show up on different days to figure out why we can’t get a connection. None of our devices would connect. We ended up canceling WOW. Now I was told we have to wait 3-7 days for WOW to disconnect.

WOW is wow for all the wrong reasons. Cable is doesn’t work correctly - continuous issue. Internet now has been down for 2 days in a row. I called customer service - they literally have no ETA on fixing the problem??? How is that even possible?? An ETA is an estimated guess from prior experience. They have no clue. This is way too expensive for the below standard service. Looks like I’ll be in the market for a new service provider.

It was a nearly desolate parking lot. This is not Comcast. I needed to exchange equipment. I did and was told I could use iy in 45 minutes. Had to go home and call tech support which is farmed out overseas. I was told up to 48 hrs. So I lost work Thurs Fri. And Sat. And it was me who figured out the first modem was a dud. I clearly told the techs it wasnt working before they left. Ill be seeking some sort of compensation.

(Comcast was around $90.00 for the same package I have)Performance:This is the fastest WiFi I’ve ever used and I have the basic plan.My 2 person household uses 2 cellphones, a smart tv, and 2 consoles on the all of them usually everyday and my speeds haven’t fluttered at all.To put it into perspective I’ve tried downloading a 30 gigabyte game on Comcast Wireless network and it took around 7 hours to complete. I downloaded a 70 gigabyte game on WOW’s wired network and it took me 45 minutes.This plan is perfect for speed and affordability.And if you’re smart you will utilize the WiFi only plan to watch tv on a more modern platform (streaming)So WiFi is really all you need now days.Spending only $30 for tv and WiFi a month has been a live safer.Best service ever.

The only reason i no longer have their service is because for some reason my apartment complex will nolonger slow them to service my area, thanks to comcast. Unreliable service but a good price. As someone who works from home often, I can no longer trust that my internet will be working when I need it to with WOW. The internet has been on and off for a couple days now and every time I call they dont have an update on the maintenance. This sort of thing happens somewhat often. Additionally, the only discount they can offer is to not charge me for the day that it was out...which means I am not able to do my job but they are willing to save me $1.50.

Now I know why they call it WOW!. Its because you will be shaking your head in disbelief saying wow! I cant believe this happened to me! I signed a 2 year contract several months ago. I told the rep I was moving to Fountain City in the next year. He assured me they service that area and I could transfer service. I found a house to buy and close on my new house Friday. Today I called to transfer service (after waiting on hold to speak to an actual human being for 18 minutes), and lo and behold, they DONT service my area. So you would think that would be grounds to get out of a two year agreement, right? Nope! Doesnt matter that they cannot service you, they still want you to pay!!! Wow! (Shaking my head in disbelief) I Would give them ZERO stars if I could. Lesson learned. No matter what the rep says, the contract prevails. And READ the contract you are signing (Better yet- DONT SIGN!) So they WILL get an early termination fee of $300 from me and I will tell EVERYONE to just say NO to WOW! Friends dont let friends subscribe to WOW! Ive floated around looking for a decent, reliable, competent Internet Service Provider over the years. Tired of the bigger names, I gave WOW a shot and what a mistake that is. Long story short, the company from top to bottom is severely lacking in basic competence. On numerous occasions, I experienced massive problems with my service and billing solely due to their horrible customer support. After a few months, I pulled the plug on their service and now they want over $2,000. Do not under any circumstances use this provider for anything. Using a dial up connection would be a better sacrifice than dealing with this company.

Terrible customer service. Local branches dont even have a phone number; you have to go through a recording and then to a foreign landline who arent very authorized to do any help regarding bill errors. For example, I got charged a termination fee when they already told me months ago that my cancellation went through with no more charges. This company is unorganized and they have a terrible system for serving their customers. Its impossible to reach the local building in your area over the phone, all calls get forwarded to India

Customer service basically does not exist. You call and get a non-English speaking person who is on the other side of the world. If youre lucky, you will get them to understand your problem, and then they will tell you that you will have to pay a $70 service call charge. Problem is, its their equipment that is not working. I have tested my modem and router, and they are performing as good as possible with the crappy signal they are getting. But this money hungry company wants to charge you for their system not working. I was so excited to leave Comcast and go to wow, I wish I had never made the move. they installed our phones a week ago and it has taken them an entire week and we still cannot answer our phones. I have nine staff members that are so frustrated, my customers cannot get through to our business, and we are losing money. Do not use them. our interior design studio has suffered severely because they will not get anyone to fix the auto attendant. surprisingly I have called everyone and no one wants to answer their email or phone now that nothing is working. I am pulling the plug today and going back to Comcast.

WOW is tearing up our neighborhood. Theyre running their cables and are tearing up yards but not making the proper repairs, leaving it worse off than before. We dont really like their TV service, but their internet was good. Their technician, upon install, cut the cable from another provider for no reason. I guess just to make it more difficult to stitch back.

Im very saddened that I no longer can use wow as my internet provider. Ive been with them and (knowledgy) for 5 years now. Ive only had trouble a couple of times and they always got me sorted out right away.Today I had to drop my router off and say goodbye as they do not service my current area.I was met with a smile and the most friendly energy Ive ever seen. Weve had WOW internet service at home for a couple of months, and its worked well from day one. I was put in touch personally with a representative who I could easily reach by phone, who helped answer all of my questions in the process of getting us connected. We made the switch from Xfinity/Comcast to WOW, and its been great so far. Id highly recommend anyone give their service a shot!

Update: Local office corrected issue. Would consider using Wow! again. I think the representative I talked with during the cancellation must have worked for DirecTV before Wow!. Same contract mentality instead of customer mentality.I should have just gone with Comcast. We had to move due to a purchase falling through by the seller. Had Wow for a couple of months. Wow does NOT service the other house we are moving to, so I had to cancel our service with them. Because they do not service our next house, I have to pay $15 a month x 10 months to cover the contract that they cant deliver on. I will never go back to WOW! again. The operator could have fixed it, but chose not to. So much for customer service.

Absolute WORST cable company ever! We did a 2 year agreement with WOW. Our contract is up in May 2019. I called since we bought a new house and service is NOT offered at our new home and will not be per the Rep. They still want to charge an EFT of $150.00 for me breaking the agreement since services are NOT offered at the new place. I mean really, they dont offer the service in less then 3 miles from my current address to my new address. Should I charge them then? I could understand EFT fees if I were breaking the agreement to switch companies or no longer wanted their service then fine I would pay them but to NOT offer services on their behalf.The local store is worthless! Spoke to them with my concern and the lady at the counter stated that she had nothing to do with it (and she probably doesnt) and could not do anything about it that it was a corporate issue. No management on duty etc to help customers on the physical store. However, no one can give me a direct phone number to the corporate office. When you google, you only get a physical address. Other local companies that do not offer services where you are moving to simply void the agreement/contract and waive EFT fees since they can not offer services to you. Total waste of time and money. Do NOT sign an agreement etc with this company! Not to mention the cable and internet both cut out alot.

My internet box keeps going out. Their charging quite a bit, its 2017 why is my internet going in and out so constantly? Its like I have 5 minutes of online time then it goes off for like half an hour. And so far this been happening near everyday at least 5 times a day.The people I spoke to are good, but their equipment could use an upgrade to be more reliable. My wired desktop loses connection for somewhat long periods of time unless I unplug the wired connection. (Something I had never had to do for at&t or any internet service in chattanooga) The laptop drops connection randomly for like a split second and because of it I just end up losing connection at the most crucial times of an online game I play, making it unplayable at the worst of times.Their bills after everything are about 40$ higher than what they gave and showed me, as of now Im working on talking them to the actual deal.

I really want to like Wow, but the connection is not very reliable. It will work fine for a week or so, but then it will slow to a halt. It seems to happen around peak hours (6-9pm, etc.), so I think they are unable to handle the amount of bandwidth needed. I hope they fix it.

I have had all other WIFI carriers in Knoxville and switched to WOW 3 years ago and have not switched since. Coming from a techie, WOW has the best WIFI service in Knoxville and happens to be the cheapest as well.

These guys promised me everything gave me nothing but problems...i had the service ONE day and 2 of my little jumper boxes quit working...i called,i called again...now its 2 weeks later i called comcast back....wows tv lineup was written out by 1st graders...they ran lines across my yard told me someone would be here in 2-3 business days to bury it...2 weeks later NADA....paid for 500mbs but i saw no difference compared to comcast 75 mbs!...until they get their act together i highly suggest DONT GO WITH WOW.....my only saving grace was they have a 1 month walk away guarantee...and i RAN.

WOW has recently began installation in our neighborhood and its been a complete disaster. Markings all over the streets and yards, holes of mud everywhere (including large tire tracks in multiple front yards), trash left behind on site, truck/trailer parked over night in front of driveways & complete disregard for existing lawnscape. We have attempted to call the company to inform them of our complaints but we were continually rerouted to customer service in other states with refusal to be connected to the Knoxville office. I can only imagine how the remainder of the installation will turn out... This is an embarrassment to our neighborhood, and is extremely frustrating for someone who didnt request the service.

I wish 0 stars were an option. I moved to Knoxville, TN from Greenville, SC and have never experienced internet service this unreliable. Its almost daily that it cuts in and out intermittently for hours around midday. I call customer service, stay on hold for 45 minutes, and finally am told to reset my router. This doesnt work so they schedule a repair tech to come out a week later. And every time the service comes back up a few hours later, or the next day before the tech comes out. This is a recurring event probably 3-4 days every week.

Do yourself a favor and do not go with this internet service ever... My internet kicks me off constantly I am paying $80 a month for 100mbps my internet never works I have unlimited data through my cell phone service provider which you will need as well if you go with WOW... I only use internet to play xbox live and get booted every time I play... Was on the phone with customer service and they told me they would give me a $50 bill credit on my next bill I politely declined why would I accept a $50 bill credit when my internet is $80 a month and hasnt worked in a month? Then they tried to get me to sign a contract to fix my internet. Ive already talked to AT&T about u-verse and made it very clear to the rep over.the phone and the manager that I was leaving if something wasnt fixed Id rather pay $50 monthly at AT&T where the internet service works instead of a faster speed of 100mbps where the service never works! I cant wait to be done with their service and hopefully this saves you from the headache that Is WOW... We Offline Weally? 😂

I tried to get internet from comcast for 1.5 months. The person in the house before us left a huge bill and noone could fix it. Went in person 3 times and called forever. Finally called wow. The customer service rep was the most polite encounter Ive ever had with customer service. They told me they cpuld have it running the next day at 8 am. They were there on time and it was fantastic. We can have 5 people running online games at once with no issues ok their second to best internet package and its a great price. Always recommend.

I have to say that this is the worst experience Ive ever had with an internet provider. The wifi cuts in and out all day long. When Im working from home, Im hugely inconvenienced when this happens. When I called and asked for someone to come out and help, it took a week for them to send someone. The guy who came out here replaced some stuff, and here we are, the next day, its messed up again. Been like this for months.

It is sad that they force another box on you for your TV to have basic service. WOW absolutely does not support a greener america. Not only does it take 45 minutes to activate the new Cisco box but cost customers more in electricity to maintain the service you had before they decided they need more money a month. Really just sad we work for them yet they say they are the service provider.

I had internet and cable installed in October, had phone added in December, I never had a full day of service. When I called only one customer service person actually cared that I had no service. I had several techs to my house, had equipment switched out, to be told the problem was in the lines at the pole. No one ever came out to fix the problem. My internet was very intermittent. Signal dropped in and out all day. I was given a 20 dollar credit, but charged for an extra half month of service. When I called to have service cancelled was told they were going to charge me to pick up the equipment because I did not have the service protection plan that I was charged for every month. When I called to complain all my services were down a supervisor named Josh hung up on me. As bad as Comcast is I will probably be going back to them, at least they tried to make it right and would actually credit your bill when your service was down. I would NOT recommend WOW to anyone!

I apparently have a dog in the Comcast/Knology spat. Knology/WOW ripped my Comcast cable out of the ground, claiming it was in their conduit. I dont know from bunkus on that. So, I went down to the WOW office, started off cordial, then it quickly went South. I understand their 1.9/5 rating.Parting shots included Hows it feel to rate worse than Comcast?

Terrible! Dont believe their lies, you wont save money! Was promised that it wouldnt go over $100 including tax. Wanted to save money because I was paying 150 for uverse. Turned out to be around 160 a month on average with their hidden fees and late charges because I wouldnt pay the bill until someone could explain why it was so much more than what they told me it would be. And no one could ever explain that to me. When I cancelled service a few days after paying a bill and was told that I would be charged for a partial month, I was extremely surprised when I received a bill for over $300, especially when there was no contract I was violating. These people are LEECHES. Oh, and the girl in the office with the multicolored hair has a terrible attitude. As far as their TV goes, it looks like CRAP. Ugly looking menus that look like they are from the 1980s or early 1990s. It is the same equipment and company as Knology. Yeah, this company gives you equipment that is at least 5 years old. They gave me the same box I had with Knology in 2010. I can really not describe how terrible this service and this company really are... There just arent strong enough words...

Ive only had wow for a few days, and within the first 24 hours, our main cable box quit working. Now, it keeps flashing this message on the screen saying your HDTV does not support hdcp. Very aggravating.UPDATE: 05/19/2017My job is taking me out of state, where WoW does not currently offer services. I call in 05/10/2017 to schedule a disconnect and they tell me to call the day of. I do that, and now they tell me i have to bring their equipment into their local office. They also told me that they could waive the fee since im moving to an area that THEY DONT OFFER SERVICE TO!! Well, my fiance just drove over there to return my equipment and the lady that helped her was rude, even made a comment about returning the remote with no batteries in it...really?! probably because i bought them!!! Piss poor customer service. Its very aggravating that i also work in customer service and if one of my employees treated my customers this way, they would be fired. The lady also was very short about not waiving my ETF fees. This company has very poor communication skills and apparently doesnt train their staff at all. Cant wait to get my final bill and be done with this company.

Terrible service. My cable stopped working for an entire month and they could not resolve the problem so I eventually just cut off my cable. I started off with 90 Mbps of Internet but there service is so terrible that Ive had to upgrade to the 300 Mbps just for an Xbox and Amazon Fire Stick (the only devices on the wifi) and its still slow and cuts out intermittently. Save your money and go with a more dependable provider.
