Came in pretended not to know much about exhausts. I asked them for a quote on welding on mufflers and installing cutouts ONLY. All my own owned stuff and was quoted an estimate of $700! Not sure if it was cause of what I was driving or cause I pretended not to know about cars but pretty sure all they saw were $$$ signs! But I shopped around and went to Muffler Bandit down the road. Great people there and they charged me less then half of what I was quoted here!

So far my experience here has been great. I came in after bringing my car into another shop for a diagnosis. The other shop gave me a list of things I could fix on my car including repairs to my solenoid, my t-case and my compliance bushings, totalling to about $2000. They didnt give me a breakdown of the costs of labor vs parts etc. either.When I came to Scotts, they took a look at my car and told me the leak that I needed fixed in my t-case should only cost about 150$ and that there was nothing wrong with my solenoid at all. By this time I had gone to check my receipts from previous work Ive had done to the car, to find that I already replaced the bushings last year. Scotts agreed I dont need this replaced. I am so happy I came here before settling elsewhere. Scotts didnt take advantage of me and I felt that they were completely transparent and honest with me when it came to my car and what needed to be done. I would recommend this place to my friends and family & I will be coming back in the future.

This place was recommended to me by my sister. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They go the extra mile. They are extremely helpful and willing to explain whats up to somebody who is less versed in the engines of cars, 100% honest, flexible, and just... awesome. As an example, my car was up for some kind of tune-up based on mileage (but all my miles were on the highway.) I brought my car in for an oil change and mentioned that I was concerned about the car being in tip-top shape before driving across the country, and they spent 15 minutes checking the whole thing for me. They didnt even charge me more than the oil change, because there was nothing wrong to fix. Ive been in here half a dozen times and they have impressed me with their hard work and honesty every time.

These guys are GREAT. I have had multiple vehicles there for multiple issues over a from a dead battery to a clutch replacement and I have always gotten great service for a good price. They even fixed a battery lead issue for me at no cost.

Great place to go with actual honest mechanics. The dodge dealership in town told my wife that she needed brakes on her truck so I told her about Scotts and when they looked at her pads they told her she didnt need new brakes yet and they still had life left in them. Also it was advised by the same dealership that all of her fluids were in desperate need of being flushed and replaced and Scotts once again said that was bs and she would not need fluids replaced for another 10,000 miles. I also took my car here for some aftermarket high performance work and these guys killed. I would recommend this shop to anyone and I will not take my cars anywhere else.

Scotts EQ is the ONLY place I take our car and truck, even for just an oil change. I used to take our vehicles elsewhere for specialized fixes and have had nothing but bad experiences. It turns out the folks at Scotts can handle any sort of problem were having, from a failed air conditioner in our car to an electrical problem with our little trailer. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I never worry theyll try to sell me something I dont need. Theyre straight shooters.

Ive gone to Scottys for several years now and have always received excellent service, but recently I had my KIA break down and their commitment to go above and beyond really shined through. They went and picked up my car from where my insurance towed it several hours away, saved me a ton of money on the repair (the other place wanted to replace the engine at twice the cost), and then gave me a discount because I had done the regular suggested maintenance (the timing belt went out due to an issue not involving that maintenance). This all came at a time when I was out of work and low on cash, but I never even mentioned it, they just did their best my me because thats what they do. The whole time they were on my side. I cant recommend them highly enough.

To start,These folks went above and beyond to assist us. We own an RV rental business in Sacramento, Ca, and had an unit near Lolo. The unit would not start and had it towed to Scotts auto. Mike was able to schedule the unit in the same day. Riley, the technician, worked on it countless hours and kept us and the renter updated. He even stayed after hours to assure that the unit would be put back to commission asap. Riley went in on a Saturday, which normally they are closed for business, and got our customer back on the road. Scotts Eq was honest and straightforward. They treated us fairly and got the unit back on the road asap. They surpassed our expectations and I would highly recommend having a vehicle serviced here.

I had a break in an old weld in the rear of the car.. I asked them if it could be repaired. I said that was all I saw but they should check. They repaired it. 3 days later closer to the engine there was a bolt missing and the pipe broke from twisting. They took no responsibility, things happen you know, was their attitude. Next they said they could repair that break, although to be fair they did say the whole system was fragile. 10 days later another break even closer to the engine. $200 in and it is worse than when I started. Go elsewhere for your exhaust work. I know I will.

I sent my daughter to Scotts to get an estimate on the cost to tune up her car and get the heater working. They took her keys (why I dont know), they looked at it and said it will be $1900.00 to fix! And to add insult to injury, they would not giver her the keys back until I paid $144 for the estimate!All I wanted was a written estimate to tune up and fix the heater, but apparently, when they seen a woman they seen dollar signs and decided to rip her off!Run dont walk from these rip offs!

I came in expecting to have to pay couple hundred bucks for reinstalling ac part that came off in Washington. Ford Dealer in Elma, Wa told me this after bargain oil change. Two hours labor I was told. Scotty auto repair had me on road in 10 min....we came to conclusion Ford dealer had slow day in shop and was looking to make it up with removing simple part then bringing it to customer hoping they fall for costly bogus repair. Thanks Scotty repair!!!! Oh by the way Scotts would not take money for repair...he said nah it only took couple minutes, thanks again as Im rolling one year later still with AC working!!!.

Quality service without over charging. Our car engine had been having trouble on our cross country drive. We tried calling many different auto shops in Montana along the way to take a look at it, but they were either booked or did not work on Volkswagen vehicles. Scotts shop called us right away when they got a cancellation for the day and took the car in and fixed it in less than a day, so that we could get back on the road. I would highly recommend them! They did a superb job as well as were great to work with. Thank you!!

The 4wd indicator lights were out in our Blazer so 4wd was not working. Took it to a tire shop and they tried a couple of switches then said we needed to order a motor. I took it to Scotts and they quickly diagnosed it to be a fuse related to 4wd memory that the other place had missed. I was impressed with Billy and Riley. All the employees were very professional and friendly. Would highly recommend.

These guys (Billy and the rest) really are the BEST. Theyve helped me out a number of times. They replaced an oil pan for me and then fixed a distributor gear. They took their time troubleshooting and saved me a considerable amount of money compared to other estimates when the distributor gear needed work. My astro van has worked great ever since!

This is a really late review, but the service we received from Scotts was so remarkable that I havent forgotten! This last August we were returning to Oregon from vacationing in Yellowstone and dropping our son off to college. We were pulling a trailer and got off at Missoula to get ice cream and gas up. It was about 4:00 on a Friday and we had a horrible smell coming from the battery. We called the local dealership and were told that none of the technicians would stay late. They THANKFULLY referred us to Scotts. When we arrived the guys got us right in. They were VERY clear about what they thought was going on but that there was no way to know for sure without replacing the battery and alternator. They explained everything and then agreed to stay late to help us out. Had we not had this excellent service we would have been stuck in Missoula for the weekend, or if we would have tried to make it home the battery would have blown up stranding us in the middle of no where. The ultimate was that WE WERE DESPERATE, and they didnt take advantage of us, actually the opposite, no overtime charges, and they actually went above and beyond to get things covered under warranty. The guys were AMAZING. It is so nice to find honest car repair businesses. I cant recommend these guys enough! Thank you for staying late, thank you for your skill, and thank you for your honest dealings.

Took my VW Touareg there twice. Great German car mechanic on staff. Thats important. They do great work and work with you on options that suit your budget.

I have owned multiple vehicles and been to a lot of shops from Washington, Idaho and Montana. It is rare that you leave a shop feeling happy with your experience because it usually took a large chunk of your bank account. I took my Sprinter Van to Scotts to have them clean out the DPF Filter and diagnose a check engine light. They not only cleaned my filter for less than quoted but also were very helpful in diagnosing my other codes and offered to continue to reset the codes for free. They are down to earth guys based on the experience I had.

Wow! I am new to Missoula and was nervous about picking a shop, but oh boy! did I pick right. From my first phone call Riley was professional and upfront. Not only did he walk me through the process but was straightforward with fees. When I dropped my car off everyone was professional and the shop was clean. When I picked up my car they had fixed what I had originally wanted, plus another issue, and the bill still came in much lower than I was expecting! Defiantly my go to place to get my vehicle fixed in Missoula!

What a rip off! I took in my vehicle to get them to replace a part (EGR valve), a very simple and quick procedure. I looked it up on the internet before taking it in, and at most it should have taken them 45 minutes. Instead they charged me for an hour and a half. This is completely ridiculous because I actually had given them the wrong part to put in, and 15 minutes after I dropped of my vehicle they called me to tell me. Went back and grabbed the part I gave them and the one they replaced and went and got a new one. So why would it take 15 minutes to take off a part and another hour to replace it?I also asked them to replace the spark plugs while they were working on it. They charge me for an hour and 35 minutes to do that! If actually took them that long to replace spark plugs they must have never worked on a car before. This is absolutely ridiculous and is highway robbery.

Took a car there because a friend said they were the best. Yeah, well they charged me for a tow-in which btw, we had towed there our selfs. They took out my security system, tsc module, engine control module, and countless other things ended up costing 1900$ Fixed enough to where i can drive it home just to have it break down a few days later! Waste of time and money for nothing! And on the invoice stated Not sure what originally faulted in vehicle, but suspected the battery failed causing alternator to overcharge causing system failure.?!! So my dad took a look at it himself found out all it was, was the electrical ignition switch which only costs 84$ and mechanic only charged me 50 to put it on and change some fuses. So far no circuit faults. I feel like i got ripped off! Oh btw, my sister took her car there and they took the keys didnt inform her that an estimate would be 1900!! 1900 for a friggin esitmate! Wouldnt give her keys back untill she paid atleast 144$! Omg, Most place dont even charge for an estimate! Oh well lessons learned the expensive way i guess! Thanks scotts eq for nothing!!
