I moved here from the west coast and was worried about finding a barber. I was recommended to come here from one of the movers from the company that delivered our stuff. I picked Hannah based off the reviews I read. Hands down and will be my main hair and beard stylist here in Knoxville. She is very friendly, and very confident with her work. The hot towel was the best experience ive had, on the west coast that wasnt/wouldnt happen at all. Not to mention the atmosphere and other clientele is phenomenal and friendly.

I have been twice to have Hannah trim my beard, and both times were very enjoyable. Not only does she do a great job with her trims, but shes very personable and makes you feel comfortable. To be honest, the hot towel and smell good stuff is worth the price of the trim, never mind walking out looking fantastic. I moved to eastern TN/KY for grad school. I’d been in the area for about 8 months and had tried a few barbers but no one could cut my hair like my stylist at home. Finally, a friend tried Saints and Sailors and recommended Jonathon. On my next day off from school, I drive the hour to Knoxville to see Jonathon and get my hair cut. The shop was clean, everyone was masked and socially distant. Haircut came out great. Sent a picture to my stylist at home and she said it looked great too but I couldn’t like Jonathan more than her. Highly recommend both Jonathon and Saints and Sailors Barber Shop. Will definitely keep going back as long as I’m in the area.

It may really depend on who does the cut. The facility was super clean and great. The guy barely cut my hair. I asked for a cleaner close cut. He barely spoke. Idk if thats because I am a specific type of minority or what... But the haircut wasnt bad, he just didnt do much at all. He also barely spoke to me which is totally fine but couldnt figure out what the sudden silence was about. He he had been very communicative with the other people prior to me.The facility was great looking. Not sure if I just caught my barber at a weird time or if they literally didnt wanna give me a hair cut. If i go back Ill be more stern about what I want and look for a different barber/stylist at the location.

We have never had a bad experience. Greta cuts my sons hair which is blonde and well, it takes someone special to do that. She is always asking his opinion, making sure he, and I as well, are happy. She converses and really makes him feel comfortable. I really do hope we have found “our” place.

High quality shop, and professionally run. They don’t rush, and take the time to actually get job done right and take into account what you want. The finishing touches are used here: hot towels on your beard, straight razors, and actual barber chairs, and it makes a difference. I have seen a few of the barbers here, and they are all good, but I recommend John.

Saints and Sailors Barber Shop did not disappoint!The shop is large and airy (15 foot ceilings?) and the chairs are all spaced apart well.They did seat another customer one chair over from me, so wasnt crazy about that (he was distanced enough, but with chairs on the other wall, would have preferred they sat him over there).Love the truly contactless payment option (paid in full online before my appointment, including tip).Highly recommend (especially if youve waited 8 months to get a cut, like I did!).

I had a weird and unwelcoming experience at this place. I would not recommend it to LGBTQ people or allies unless the shop steps up their game.To be clear, the experience had to do with another customer, and not the staff of saints and Sailors itself. It does not reflect any other aspect of their service.But some hateful people are feeling very emboldened right now., and I asked the shop to make its privately stated acceptance of LGBTQ customers visible. Put up a rainbow sticker, something. The response I got back was underwhelming, to put it generously.I hate that l am left to assume that Saints and Sailors doesn’t want to alienate the anti-LGBTQ part of their customer base by stating publicly that they welcome LGBTQ customers. But I’d be happy if they proved me wrong.
