After living here for 2 years, I have had the absolute best experience and would highly recommend to anyone moving to Kirksville. Sherri has always went out of her way to help me out, and they always would get back to any emails or calls right away if something was needed! 11/10 would recommend!
We rented from Heritage House for three years, and we were happy with our decision! The office staff is so kind, maintenance is prompt and thorough, and they dont nickle and dime you upon moving out. They truly go the extra mile in making sure their tenants are happy.
I have rented from Heritage House Rentals for around four years and currently live in one of their duplexes. Even though I am delighted with the comfort and conveniences in my home, it is the staff that makes Heritage House outstanding. The office staff know you by name and seem to genuinely care about your needs. The maintenance guys are prompt, friendly and know what they are doing. Kudos to Heritage House Rentals. As long as I live in Kirksville, I will choose to rent from them.
I was a dental student in Kirksville, and leased from Heritage House 115 W. Jefferson location for two years. They did a fantastic job while I was there. The staff is awesome and helps with anything you need. Sherri is great and helped me with everything. If i had a question about anything or needed something changed or fixed she always had it done within the day. Would definitely recommend Heritage House.

This company has a nice, very professional facade. A current roommate of mine and I planned to rent through this company on the basis that they advertised as “pet friendly”. We were asked to complete all of the necessary background check paper work prior to the lease signing. Awesome, right? We were so excited to rent with a professional and thorough landlord. However, when it finally came to sign the lease (which had two slots for pets), we were told that only one cat would be permitted. This was make or break for us, because we had planned to bring one cat per person. I politely asked to speak with the owner, which was no problem. The owner was terse with me on the phone and would simply not here my side. Rather than consider the predicament and the expectation that had already been set by their advertisement and LEASE, he simply would make no exceptions. This company thoroughly wasted days of my time that could have been spent researching a better place to rent from. NOT pet friendly. 2 stars for having decent customer service and friendly staff in the main office.UPDATE:The owner called me personally while I was at work. He reached me through my work number, which I happened to answer. After some brief discussion I offered my personal number I updated and changed this post because of his phone call. The owner was very apologetic AND this organization deserves more stars for having outstanding office workers. HOWEVER, one pet per person just makes sense. Their lease and original tour was misleading.

I lived in a HH property with my cat while I was in KV for dental school for 2 years. The place I rented was across the parking lot from school so I walked to class every day and to the library to study. The apartment itself was well updated and I never had any issues with the property, staff or maintenance. At one point one of my heaters went out and maintenance came to fix it just hours later, been working like a champ ever since. They also allowed me to pay rent 6 months in advance, which was nice to not have to worry about it since I was busy with school. The office staff was always prompt at answering my emails and returning my phone calls as well as gave plenty of notice when they needed to show my place. As a busy student, I highly recommend HH because they made it all so easy and worry-free.
I find several rental listings on their website that are current. Call to find out the less expensive ones (all four of them) are conveniently rented. Person on the phone tries to upsell me others that are available for $50 more than the rental fee that appears online? Shady business practices and games being carried out at heritage house rentals in my opinion. Shame on you people. I wonder if rent is paid directly to heritage or owners. Somebody skimming off the top or what? Either way you are either poorly running your business or trying to purposely mislead and profit off of people.
