These guys have kept my Outback running like a well maintained watch, I mean Subaru. My Outback had its first visit with them around 100k and is now well past 220k. It has had a head gasket replaced, two timing belts and a few other bits and pieces. Even at 220k, I am 100% confident that it will power through a 3,000 mile road trip through the southwest, why, because that is what I did in 2020 with it. We hit off road places like Valley of the Gods and climbed the pass up and over the Grand Tetons. Due to AWDA’s spot on care, we had a great time with no second thoughts.I have been very happy with their service, and I have about 10 years of returning to prove it.Below is a photo of my Outback on our trip through Lake Powell, AZ.
These guys are the best. There is zero over sell, and they shoot you straight. Their prices are better than a dealership, and they are willing to figure out what needs to be fixed first, and good options... Like a lightly used transmission instead of new.
This place has been my go to for some time now. They are a very progressive shop. They like to be current and always seem to more informative about my car than I have ever asked for. Very thorough and not in a pushy way....just informative. I would like to ad how courteous and helpful the front office is. You just don’t see this kind of service much anymore.
I’ve been taking my Subaru’s to AWD Auto since about 2010 and will continue to go there as long as I’m within like 200 miles of them. They’ve done everything for me including regular maintenance, performance part installation, even fixing my goof ups all with incredible thoroughness, professionalism, and at a solid price point. I can’t recommend them enough! They are super knowledgable and passionate about cars and people and their work definitely shows that! Most recently, they’ve done a tire install and alignment for my WRX and the ride is perfect!
I drove up to Bellevue from San Jose CA; then found my 2008 Outback misfires and leaks coolant and the CEL is on. In panic, I found this shop and had the vehicle inspected. I am impressed by their friendliness and professionalism. They found the root caused (head gasket & cooling system problems) and sent me a detailed report which helps me a lot understand the issues.Too bad that I have to drive back to CA since my vacation time is running off. Otherwise, I will have my car fixed here for sure.1. This shop inspects cars in great details.2. The staffs are knowledge, professional and friendly3. I didnt feel any pressure from them when they were explaining their findings.4. This shop is busy! Make sure you make appointments before going.
I have been taking my Subaru to All Wheel Drive Auto ever since I bought my car (8 years). I don’t trust anyone else with my car. I live 2 hours away and over a mountain pass and they are very accommodating and understanding. I happily drive the distance for something as simple as an oil change. The entire staff is very professional, knowledgeable, honest, and efficient. I have never had a bad experience in the 8 years I have been a customer.
Great service. Everything was done quick, good and for fair price. Definitely recommend this place
Always great doing scheduled service with this team. Honestly, they are honest in their work. They called me this time to inform me that a plate seal on the transmission had been miss-diagnosed in its level of deterioration. I had brought it in for this reason, which was gunna be a large cost. If they said nothing, I would have been non the wiser; but they did not do that, they called, told me about it being unneeded and they save me a large bit of $$.The whole crew is great, Jamie, Paul, Juan and all the guys on the shop floor. If you want to see it with your own eyes, they are happy to show you. Not offended that you would ask.I refer people to AWD on a regular basis.
Amazing attention to detail. Thorough explanation of work needed as well as work just suggested. These guys and gals are great!
Did a great job with my car. I paid for an inspection and was given a comprehensive checklist of items that were checked and notes from the technician WITH PHOTOS OF EACH FLAGGED ITEM. They are willing to work with you if you have a budget and list out the required parts for the repair if you would prefer (or could only afford) to do the work yourself.
Good communication. Very timely repair process. Overall great experience here.
Easy drop off, prompt repair and easy pick up. I cannot recommend these folks enough, and is the only place I’ll take my 15’ wrx. Thanks!
I love this place, its the only place I take my Subaru. They are responsive and reliable with everything Ive ever had them do.
I scheduled an appointment over the phone with Juan for a brake flush & a soft brake pedal issue, he was professional & polite. Jamie checked me in for my appointment & explained what was going to happen & kept me updated along the way. The mgr Joe came out and checked in with me about the issue with the soft pedal and also checked with the technician after working on the car before they gave it back to me & explained what they did. Brakes work perfect and the experience was great. Will come back for other repairs/maintenance.
Professional and delivered on what they promised. They also educated me. Great place!
My 2013 Outback had a strange occurance where all my warning lights came on for a bit, then went off again. I was concerned about driving it all the way back home that afternoon(I live 4 hours from Kirkland), so I called these guys. Paul answered the phone, and was kind and helpful. He was able to fit me in within an hour and a half, and when I went back to pick up my car, he walked me through what they had found. Nothing major thankfully, and it should be good to go. When I asked how much I owed, he waved me off, saying they were glad to check out my car for me! Thank you!
I TRUST these guys. That alone is enough, but Ill explain why.In the past, Ive always taken my car to a dealership for work. The last time I did that I was told I needed new brakes.I decided to get a second opinion at AWD. My brakes are fine. That was 2 years ago, and I still havent needed new brakes.Since then, Ive taken my car to AWD a handful of times, ( new battery, brake lights, oil changes, tune-up ) and have always had great service.
Very smooth operation, cost efficient and available almost anytime. Highly recommended.
What I appreciated most was talking with Jamie when I dropped the car off, it was obvious immediately that she was very knowledgeable about Subarus. I was able to discuss in detail my concerns and she understood and was able to expand on what may be going on with my car. She was able to offer some tips on the care and maintenance from her many years of personal and professional experience with Sabarus. The estimate for work was very detailed and professional, including pictures. I am confident of the work done and will definitely be taking my Forester back .
Now this is how a mechanic performance shop should be run! Expert customer service, communication, online portal for work orders, and they even provided a loaner car for me while my WRX was in their shop. Reasonably priced for such professional work and I will be getting my Subaru worked on by them time and time again! Shout out to Tim, Juan, and Jamie for the excellent work in communication and service on my project!
I was very pleased with the knowledge they showed when I told them I would like to service my WRX.Their communication was top notch also.I will definitely be using them again in the future.
Had new springs installed on 2020 Subaru Outback and AWD was fast and efficient. Good communications and no flaws with the work that I can tell, done earlier than anticipated and no issues. Will go back again for more work (been there several times outfitting my Subaru).
Really great experience, got us in quickly to get our A/C fixed before the heatwave. Thank you!
Love All Wheel Drive! They take good care of my 2003 Forester.
This shop is trustworthy, honest and committed to great service and bringing visibility to car maintenance. From servicing my Subaru here for more than six years to selling my car when it was time, I felt like every interaction was up-front, clear and fair. Thanks to the team at All Wheel for keeping my Subaru on the road.
I had an inspection service on my WRX once here. They provided the service on time scheduled. They also finished the service within their estimated window. The staff is friendly. He explained to me how some inspection steps were done, as I threw some questions. The overall price is reasonable, and they provided a list to show the cost of each item. In all, this is a honest place.
Today my battery was dead while parked at a nearby restaurant. I walked over to All Wheel Drive Auto to see if I could borrow a pair of jumper cables. One of their mechanics immediately walked over to my car with a jump box and my car started right up. The mechanic and the people in the office were extremely nice and eager to help me out. I would definitely have my car serviced here. Thanks again for helping me out guys!
Every time I need service theyre my go to spot. Great customer care and I love the updates given throughout the process via text. I appreciate the pictures they send and that you can approve of extra services via text as well. Very professional.
Fast and affordable wheel alignment on a brand new machine! Friendly, professional and personal service by Micah. My Jeep drives like new.
I was given a phone consultation, never been to the shop and treated as though I have been a life long customer. Given an opinion for the problems I faced and took the time to explain my options for my car problem and what would be the best action to fix the problem based on my issue. Thats more than I would expect from anywhere. Keep that up, Ill be back for more to keep your business going. Thank you for all
Knowledgeable and they do thorough work. Thank you!
The service is phenomenal! Staff and mechanics are skilled and friendly. The detailed report that is provided after service is informative with plenty of relevant data and comments. Thank you for all the services you’ve provided for our Subaru’s!
Had a ton of work done here and my Subaru has never been in better shape. Extremely thorough and very helpful, the front desk people are very friendly and obviously very into all things Subaru!
Been using this shop for 4-5 years for my 2000 Outback wagon, including a head gasket and water pump replacement. Generally always great service and communication. I especially love the new system showing pictures of my car along with each line item. Scheduling is always easy and super flexible about night drops. Still coming to this shop after moving to Renton Highlands. Will be bringing in our newer Outback as well.
Service was great! I had a lot of issues with my Baja. They tackled every problem and was great at letting me know of any additional things they found. Im still breaking in my new, pretty much rebuilt, car for the 1k miles. Cant wait to drive it normally! Thank you!!
Amazing experience! Staff was very friendly and understanding of the situation and everything we had been through with the dealership. They gave realistic timeline of completing the diagnostic and exceeded our expectation of when we would hear back. They were able to diagnose and solve an issue within the same day at a great price when the dealership took three separate weeks and still couldnt figure it out. VERY excited to now have a great mechanic we can truly trust from here on out, thank you All Wheel Drive Auto!!
My check engine light was on due to some emission sensors along with the AT lights. They quickly diagnosed the problem and took a week to get it all sorted out and test drove it. The car never feels this good before, no shuttering with the transmission given that this is a 1998 Forester. It got me to Fairbanks, AK from Seattle without any problems at all. I highly recommend this guys. They are the only shop that I trust to take my old Subaru to in the Pacific Northwest area. Thanks guys for the wonderful customer service and professionalism.
Very happy that I found All Wheel Drive Auto! Im impressed with their knowledge and passion for Subarus. They text you a copy of the inspection they perform while youre waiting and take the time to clarify anything you have questions about. Check them out!
I purchased a used 2001 Subaru Forester with significant problems. I brought the car in for a thorough post purchase inspection. The inspection was in fact extremely thorough. I received an email and text message about 3 hours after dropping off the vehicle with a link to the inspection report. I could easily see what was checked, photos of the part of the vehicle in question, and a detailed mechanics recommendation. Some things were flagged as high priority such as head gaskets while others were flagged as low priority such as as broken fog light. I was able to easily approve or disapprove repairs to a particular part of the vehicle. I also received a call from Jaimie to go over everything where she gave me her recommendations of what could wait and what urgently needed repairs. I felt that the interaction with AWD Auto was very transparent and the prices for the work were clearly laid out before work was done. There were no unpleasant surprises whatsoever and all of the work was finished in less that one week, which is saying a lot because I had a lot of work done. In order to save me some money, Jamie was able to find a used fog light in great condition for half the price of a new OR replacement. I picked this shop because they specialize in Subarus and have a very good reputation in the community. They use an aftermarket Six Star head gasket when they do a replacement because they claim that it will last longer than an OE head gasket. I haven’t evaluated the performance of the head gasket obviously because I just had it done but I’m hopeful that it will lasts a long time. I was given a loaner car free of charge while the work was underway and updated regularly as the work progressed. The only complaint that I have is that the window wipers, cabin air filter, and engine air filter were not changed. Personally, I expect things like that to be changed when you spend as much much as I did on major repairs. So, if you want those things changed, you will have to ask them specifically to do it, don’t just assume that they did it. My opinion overall is that this shop knows what they are doing, do it well, and for a fair price. Also, the customer service is excellent.
They always take care of me and my car. They are a no-nonsense, high quality team. Theyll give me a heads up on maintenance thatll need to happen down the road. They walk me through whether its a safety issue and the tradeoffs of pushing it off. Price of parts are never jacked up. When I had my tire tread backwards they fixed the rotation for free so my car wouldnt hydroplane.
They inspected my vehicle for free. Very good experience with Paul at the front desk. I experienced professionalism and great direction as to what was needed for my vehicle. I was shown underneath my car in the shop and given expert instructions for parts to buy.
I was in a spot with an aging Subaru where a more general shop had left me feeling frustrated and gouged. I needed real expertise and honesty, and they have it here. Thank you AWD Auto, Ill be back.
They always do a great job on my car. When a service took longer than expected, I was given a loaner car. Great customer service.
A great local independent Subaru service on the Eastside. The prices are fair with excellent workmanship. I have been going to All Wheel Drive Auto for the last five years and will continue going to them for all of my Subaru needs.
Great service and reasonable prices!
AWD Auto has been keeping our 20 yr old Subaru in excellent running condition for many years. Their work is always high quality and they stand behind it and make repairs if there are follow up issues. New electronic tools for customer service are really convenient and add to the transparency of the process.
These guys are awesome! I called another Subaru mechanic in Kirkland. It’s where I had bought it from and the earliest appointment for an oil change was December 28th. I called AWD and Jaime was able to get me in same day. AND it was about 20% cheaper! Will refer and be back as a customer!
Only shop I would trust to work on my subaru. Everyone was extremely helpful and I was treated like family. Will be returning for any service I cant perform. Theyve been extremely helpful answering questions on torque specs I couldnt find and questions for repairs Im performing myself. Ive never been to a shop that was willing to help me like that. Theyd get 6 stars if it were an option. Thank you all wheel drive auto
Awesome Subaru service location. Took my Subaru to AWD Auto after the techs at the Subaru dealership told me something was fixed when it clearly wasnt. The techs at AWD found the issue on my Forester and fixed it quickly - have used AWD exclusively since.
Had the pads and rotors changed. Service was done on time, and the loaner vehicle was great. Would come back.
This place seems to do fine work. They are fair about prices. I especially like their willingness to let me bring oil of whatever brand I prefer. They also make recommendations aimed at avoiding future serious repair issues.
I will never go back here and I advise you do not go.I was preparing for a trip across the country and I asked them to change my oil and inspect my car. They told me I would be fine to drive across country. Well half way across the country my break pads stopped working. I was breaking on metal on metal with a loud noise blaring every time I used the breaks. Cannot believe they charged me $90. My auto shop in PA told me I should sue the place.
Always very polite and forthright with all that needs to be done along with what is going to be coming up on maintenance and repairs. I have a fairly busy schedule and the team is always accommodating and understanding. I have never had an issue with repairs or work completed here.I requested preventative maintenance repairs they didn’t just put me into an unnecessary service package- they created a quote and stuck with it if not less in cost. I recommend All Wheel Drive Auto to anyone looking for a reliable shop.
My car kept stalling out instead of idling. Alex was able to get me in and quickly get my issue diagnosed. He kept me constantly in the loop with the work they were doing to troubleshoot the issue and got the car fixed. They also made sure to keep me car long enough to make sure that the fixes they made really fixed the issue. These guys are amazing and I will happily take my car back to these guys again.
Jamie the adviser is so amazing...love her to death..... and she is so knowledgeable on Subaru!!! Both old and new cars!
All Wheel Drive Auto is the best. They always do a great job with my older Impreza. I would trust them with any maintenance or repairs on my car. THANK YOU GUYS.
I always take my Subaru to All Wheel and nowhere else.Good Service. Thanks
Good experience, and very knowledgeable mechanic. They were able to fix a number of issues that had cropped up with my 2004 Subaru WRX (240k miles and still going strong!) over the years that other mechanics were unable to diagnose.
Awesome service. They got me in right away and I was very pleased with professionalism and how they didn’t try to add any extras on like some places do. Will be returning for all my Subaru repairs!
Cannot recommend this place enough! They were a lot more thorough and helpful than the dealership. Good value, communication, and service.
Oil change and thorough inspection of vehicle before cross country trip.
Jamie did a great job having all of the WRX parts ready when I arrived. Tech (who knows the WRX very well) did a fine job on the car repairs. One part had to be delivered which took extra time but the job was done right the first time! I will be back in November for The oil change.
Great service all around! Will be back!!
Love these guys! Wouldnt take my Subaru anywhere else in the PNW!!!!
If you haven’t been here yet, hurry up! Much better than the dealership for all the regular maintenance. I had a ton of work done on my car and they kept me informed every step of the way. My only negative, which has nothing to do with their work is the loaner cars. They are older, think cassette tape in the dash. They don’t need to be out of this world but something a little bit more up to date would serve them well.
The technical service is always great and quick and a better value than the dealership. When I went in for a 36k mile service I needed a car to get to work and they let me use their loaner even though the work I was getting done didn’t qualify me for. I really appreciated that hospitality.
AWD Auto has been my shop since I bought a WRX in 2008. The service has always been great and theyre the only ones I trust to work on my car. From oil changes to exhaust installs and engine mods, theyre the best Subaru shop around. Thanks!
Excellent services and fair prices but it appears this business is not complying with the KC directive to wear face masks, effective starting May 18th. While they were sanitizing surfaces and wearing gloves, I did not see a single face mask. Not on office staff and not on anyone in the shop. I understand this directive is only strongly urged and not mandatory, but I figured that this business would be in compliance because auto repair shops are specifically called out in the directive. Had I known that this business was opting out, I would have made a different choice regarding my vehicle.
I highly recommend All Wheel Drive Auto!We have been using them for years.I always know that I can rely on getting great, and most importantly honest service, at very fair price.
Got a used Outback from a non-Subaru dealer and thus wanted an independent full inspection. Well, this place is friendly, courteous, professional and very punctual. There was no actual maintenance (scheduled or otherwise) work done this time (as far as I could tell). However going by my experience I sincerely hope to report a similar or better review next time :)
These guys got me in and out in less than an hour. I look forward to my next oil change with them, and any other service my car needs.
Great shop for your Subaru needs. Free loaner cars, that they have always had available. Fair pricing. Quick turnaround.
I have been taking my car to All Wheel Drive Auto for years and I have never been disappointed. I appreciate the team and their great work. Highly recommend!
So I throw a rod on a Friday, drop the car off on Monday, pick it up the next Friday with a new engine, turbo and clutch. Did not expect it that fast, but glad to help fill some slower days! 4000 miles on it now and running perfectly!
This is the best place to bring your Subaru. The staff is awesome, friendly, helpful, and reliable. Truly glad to have these folks working on my vehicle. They saved my 2013 Forester’s transmission!
AWD Auto is the best place to take your Subaru for no-nonsense quality service. I bought a “good deal” of an ‘06 Outback turbo with 118k miles to use as a car for extensive traveling. They brought the car up to almost new quality and have been amazing for regular service since. I’ve now put almost 40k miles on the car in two years of ownership and it still runs like new, better than when I first purchased it even. If you need confidence in your high mileage Subie, this is the only shop to go to!
I have been using AWD for multiple Subarus over the last few years and I would not have anyone else do work on them! Always fast and honest service and very friendly staff every time!
AWD AUTO is the best shop for anything Subaru!!
Worked fast and kept me informed the entire way. Did a great job of keeping my beater of a WRX on the road and clearly know their Subarus. Highly recommend if youre in the market for any work on your Subaru.
I went in for an oil lube and filter but they checked all my systems and let me know how the car was overall! Love this place!
Always a pleasure bringing my Subaru to everyone at AWD. Been going here for about 4 years now and it’s always a good time catching up with everyone in the office! Very trustworthy people and I never second guess the work they put in, for they go for perfection every time!
Great experience. Thoughtful and friendly customer care. Solved my cars problems!
When they fixed my car for some reason when you turn, the right side of the car makes a weird noise
Brought vehicle in for Pre Purchase Inspection. Completed on time as promised. Got a very detailed report on the inspection.
I had gotten an estimate at a local Subaru dealership for head gasket replacement. The bid came in about $1,000 -$2,000 higher than it did at All Wheel Drive. All Wheel Drive took me out to the shop and actually showed me the bottom of my car and what it looked like. I also got a loaner car for the time my car was in the shop, however the loaner car was very old.
All Wheel Drive does great work taking care of my Forester. They really know Subarus, and keep mine running smoothly. I recommend them highly!
Can’t diagnose properly
Staff here is always very courteous. They offer loaner car which is helpful. My experience has always been great with them!
Awesome people here at AWD auto! Had my clutch stick to the ground one morning and these guys took care of all the work + 60k service in a single day. Very impressed by the price, honesty, workmanship, and speed. 10/10 recommend!
TLDR: went to maintenance and brake pad replacement, came out and needed to replace rotors because something was stuck and rubbing so I had to go back.Very accommodating customer service. Depending on the service, you may need to drop your vehicle off overnight. But dont worry, they have complimentary loaner vehicles (just provide insurance and fill up on gas before returning it).The only thing I had an issue with is that my car started chirping after I picked it up from routine maintenance and replacing my brakes. I was told something got stuck in the rotors and that they were scratched in an irregular pattern so I needed new rotors altogether--I had to pay for the parts but not the labor. Of course, I was skeptical. I paid and got them replaced but I left with the an uneasy feeling that something went wrong during the initial maintenance and that they were doing a courtesy installment of new parts to cover up a mistake that may have been made.Im not too familiar with cars but I cant imagine something getting in between rotors and brake pad literally just when I picked up my car. Something had to have gotten stuck before I drove it home.It was a bit of a pain because I had to take time off work to drop off and pick up the car.Ill give this place another try next time my car needs something and see how it goes.
All Wheel Drive Auto is honestly the best! I have taken my car here twice for different things, and everyone there is SO incredible to work with and so nice!! They do such an amazing job every time, and really have saved me so much money! When we had the snow this last winter, they were able to get me in right away, even though they were swamped and other places were booked solid. While they had it, they noticed something that others have missed. I just had them fix that, and now my car is running smoother than ever! Not to mention what a blessing it is to have access to their loaner cars! They fixed my car and got me back on the road so quickly each time! So thankful for them! I don’t want to take my car anywhere else :)!!!
Been taking two Subarus here for years now and have always been extremely satisfied.
I found the place where the owner answers questions from readers. That told me how much one needs to know about Subarus to get the repairs correctly done. So, when I found that my Subaru 2008 Forester had not had the timing belt changed at the proper time I made arrangements to let AWD fix that and anything else that was necessary to make it a safe ride. I was pleased with the work, saw all the parts new and old, had things explained to me, and they even helped me to get credit for 6 months no interest to help pay for some of the work. I appreciated that.
It was a good job!
I went in to add some aftermarket lowering springs and other suspensions parts. Im be on happy with the outcome.
Recently brought my 04’ WRX STi to AWD Auto for the very first time for some repairs and inspection. Jaime was extremely helpful and courteous with setting up my appointment and explaining all of the recommended repairs. Really enjoyed seeing the photos that were taken to show the condition of the parts that needed replacing. And having a loaner car was extremely convenient as I live about 40 minutes away. Planning to bring our other Subaru for service soon!
Update:All the below is still entirely valid. My latest experience was due to running over a curb (dont ask...😜). I bent the right front strut, knuckle, and hub (also compromising the bearing). Fortunately, I had a complete right front suspension assembly in my garage (left over from making 1 Subie out of 2, another long story...).I took that assembly down to them (they worked me in on a Saturday) and had them do the swap. (I could have done it myself, but couldnt afford any possibility of getting stuck at any point and costing extra time). They made quick work of the swap, did an alignment, and came in way below the original estimate. Subie all better now!..........A friend and I have a had work done on our cars at AWD, and been very well taken care of. (02 WRX 5-Door; 10 WRX 5-Door)Weve had both normal service (oil change, etc.) and repair work done (replace torn front axle boot - which requires removing and disassembling the axle) and been very happy with the results and the costs. My friend had an oddball problem where the front edge of the plastic under-engine cover came loose, and at anything more than about 45mph air pressure would force the plastic down to scrape the pavement. Given the weather at the time it made an effective snow scoop! When we set up an appt with AWD to have it fixed they ordered the necessary fasteners, and a new cover in case the original was unusable - no deposit, and no charge unless the new part was needed. The original cover was still completely usable, and they returned the new part to their source, with no cost to her. Most shops, dealer or otherwise, would have told her to bring the car in so they could inspect the damage and decide what to do about it. AWDs actions saved her considerable time, an inconvenient extra visit - and minimized the cost for the repair; what a concept! The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. I have no reason to go anywhere else!
First time at All Wheel Drive Auto. They had our Subaru legacy in and out within 24 hrs, would definitely recommend this place to subi fans.
Ive been going here for oil changes and both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance the last 4 years. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, I wont go anywhere else as long as I live here!
