We stayed at the Salty Mermaid last week and had a fantastic experience. We did have a few communication issues upon arrival, but we crossed paths with Stacy while we were waiting for keys to our rental. She went above and beyond to make sure we got settled into our rental and was very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend and we will definitely use Compass Realty again!!

We rented Unit 192 in the Shipyard in Truman Annex for two weeks. In the past we have stayed all over KW via a number of agencies. On our first day in the unit we realized that the clothes washer was not functioning. Since it was a weekend we waited until Monday, 6/20/21 to call Compass. They gave us a series of stories. The first was to check with the housekeeper and if she/he could not address the issue a technician would be called. We were to call back at noon on Monday if we had not heard from them. We then called and was transferred to another agent who told my wife that they had known about the issue before we moved in. WOW! We now have a stack of clothes that need washed and not many clean clothes remaining since we travel lightly when staying in a unit with laundry facilities. The unit itself is fine but my COMPASS will lead me to another agency next year. My frustration is centered on the fact that Compass knew of the issue before we moved in. I would strongly suggested renting from another agency which is what I will tell 8 friends traveling here soon.

We stayed at 241 Southard. Floors were so dirty you had to wear shoes all the time in the house. No mop or cleaning supplies to clean floors even if you wanted to. Living room Sofa and chair dirty and uncomfortable. I don’t think real estate agents ever stepped foot in the place. No beach chairs. Back patio courtyard unsightly.

We purchased a property in the Truman Annex Shipyard and this company is handling our rentals. I have found the owner and staff to be extremely accommodating and professional.

I realize I signed a contract stating that there would be fees if I cancelled but I would think that since there is a pandemic and travel ban there might have been an exception. Update..as suggested in the owners response here I reached out to them again. Same as the intial request, no response......

I have been using Compass for many years now, there is no better way to stay in KW than at one of their properties. They are courteous, professional and easy to work with. I refer everyone here. The bad review above I am certain is an isolated incident as they hold the individual condo owners to a high standard for their renters. Cannot wait to be here in Oct/Nov!!!

I signed a contract with Compass Realty on 3/9/2018 for the month of February 2019. I paid the required $4480. and did not give it another thought. Today I received an email from Compass telling me that the rent is $500. more than my contract price. The reason given was that Feb. is only 28 days. I cannot make any sense of this and they added that it is illegal to rent for less than a month. Since February is the middle month of the winter season, I would assume that the broker would know that February only has 28 days.I have rented in Key West for 10 years and have never had this happen to me before. i do have to say that this is my first time to deal with Compass Realty.

Looking thru their rentals on line my wife pushed a button to see pictures of the house and was notified that the rental was accepted. She then told them she didn’t know what they were talking about. They told her not to worry about. They said they would cancel it for her. Well they did but wife found a fee of 599.00 charged to her credit card for a cancelation. I think that is criminal and I will look into it emmediatly.

I rented a condo every month of June for 10 years until the rent at Truman annex went berserk. Last week I spoke to a very snobby woman at COMPASS REALTY who put my rent around $7000 a month, telling me she was giving me a week free.I have 3 small cage trained dogs who have come with me when I previously rented from COMPASS.The price this year is $300 cleaning fee per dog. I couldnt believe it! I told her about my history of having to clean my own units and had encountered bed bugs (thats a God awful story) when I rented from the Wernicoffs..She didnt like my questioning the price and she replied in a nasal tone.. you know, I dont think you are a good fit for KW!Geesh...whats happening down there?Over the years as a healing practitioner, I have had locals and well known people as clients. I have even done a free benefit for a local that had been hurt in a fire. Now....Im not a good fit.

Compass Realty acted as agent to rent to us a condo in Shipyard, Key West. We were led to believe that we were renting a Luxury Condo for over $2,000 a week for two weeks. When we arrived we witnessed the condo to be a damp. Stained carpets, junk in the closets, on and off hot water, stained worn bath towels, a couch that was falling apart and thrift store quality furniture. Also dirty. We ended up leaving before our rental was up and asked for our money back. We realized that the pictures we had seen in the description of the condo on the web listing were actually not in agreement with what we actually got. Basically it was a fraudulent pitch for this rental. Two weeks after we left, Compass Realty renovated the entire condo so it would look like a reasonable rental for the price. This is a tacit admission that the condo was not rentable in the condition we found it. We asked for a refund but have not heard anything yet.

OmG - stay away from their agent Jimmy Olson! Contacted him for apartments in Key West - so far so good. At the same time we figured out that he breached a residential real estate contract for a property that he bought for himself in Fort Lauderdale. Confronted with that he started to insult and threaten us - wow! Not the guy you want to trust when it comes to real estate business! We bought the flat with another agency.

We use Compass to manage our rentals and we bought a house with them. We have had very good experience with Compass.

Terrible experience as a Landlord that trusted their property to them to manage. Very disappointed in the oversight, management and often late payments for our rent. Still awaiting partial rent payment after nearly a month of coordination with management.
