My husband and I were stranded on Long Key and I had posted in a few groups seeking help when a friend of Mitch’s saw our post and reached out to him our behalf. Mitch didn’t have our info but knew we were needing a ride to pick up car parts and he even went out of his way to contact the auto store to locate our contact information! He was fully prepared to pick up our items for us and deliver them to us free of charge! We had already gotten an expensive Uber to the store but he was still kind enough to pick my husband up and bring him back to our vehicle. All he asked for in return was to pay it forward to another soul in need. What a guy! We would use his service when visiting the keys again and would recommend him to anyone!
Had a driver scheduled to pick us up at 3 a.m. and he didn’t show up and we had a flight to catch.. called these guys and Mitch had a driver there in 15 minutes!!! Very nice car and professional driver!!
I booked Sea the Keys a few months in advance with Mitch (the owner) and paid 50% upfront. He shared he was driving for 20 years and was very experienced in this trip. I was hoping for a good experience but this was one of the most upsetting and shocking experiences.I was contacted about a month before the trip to pay the final balance even though the arrangement was to pay the balance on the day of. Mitch shared with me that bookings were slow this time of year and he needed the money ($300 was the final payment). I was not comfortable paying in full before the trip. I received about 10 text messages back to back about this request and they seemed to come in as if the business was in a desperate situation which did not sit right with me.The day of the pick up, a woman named Elsa (Who I later found out was Mitchells girlfriend) showed up and she let me know that Mitch was in the hospital and sent her in place of him. I never received communication from Mitch about this change and had no idea if she was an experienced driver. When she arrived, she also had a friend of hers driving down with her who was on vacation and they were planning to explore Key West together since she was on vacation too. I have no problem with meeting other people but many of the people in our group felt this was not professional. We paid for use of the entire van and the two women were there to explore Key West and that usually involves drinking or being in the sun to some degree. We expected the drivers to be alert and prepared to drive us. At one point the group had to be picked up from one part of key west and Elsas friend opened the door of the van in a string bikini. Not that this would normally be a problem but we paid for a professional transportation company. On the way back, it was raining and 2 AM many of the girls were not comfortable with the driving style and Elsas use of her cell phone during the drive. That is a long day for anyone and as a driver it would likely add a level of fatigue if the two women were out on the stip, partying or in the sun during the day. When we arrived back home (3AM), I told Elsa that I would settle up the balance with Mitch as we had discussed through Zelle or PayPal. I received a series of text messages from Mitch around 4AM pressing me for the final payment. We extended our trip 1 hour and the quoted additional rate was $100/hr which I knew I had to pay. Since we were in a remote location I was not able to pull up the contract at 4AM so I asked that he allow me time to pull up the contract and send the final payment once I reviewed the agreement. The amount that Mitch was requesting seemed to be higher than what we agreed including the extra hour. Once I had a chance to review the contract, he was attempting to get more money then we agreed on. He also said I didnt pay the tip but I had pre paid the tip. These text messages were very aggressive/ abusive and being sent in a frantic capacity one after the next. I will include them in my post. I suspected the nature of these text (I need that money, etc ) could be related to drugs or an addict type behavior but was not sure until I received the final two text from Mitch that saidGive me the rest of my dope and ill sell itWrong personI have considered this post multiple times but I consulted with the group and I thought if I were to wake up one day and see Key West bachelorette bus accident in the headlines of the news paper I would very much regret not sharing my experience. I hope this is a wakeup call for Mitch and his company, this is no way to run a business and by engaging in this type of behavior you are not only risking your life but the lives of every one of your passengers.
Fast service and a super friendly guy.
