Very poorly managed and maintained.The selection of gym equipment is horrible (too many treadmills, not enough weights) which leads to long waits and machine abusers who don’t leave meanwhile there are less than half the treadmills being used even during peak hours. They built some 30 min routine room that’s never used for the 30-min exercises (more wasted space).The ONLY water fountain in the gym has been leaking for a month, and I guess when the staff doesn’t feel like cleaning anymore they turn it off (it’s been shut off/turned on a few times already, but never fixed) so right now there is no water. Remember you’re a “lunk” if you bring a gallon water jug, so don’t, but planet fitness won’t provide either. Don’t judge:( PA is better than nothing I guess.EDIT: After response from owner, why should I have to speak to the manager when you (the OWNER) are aware of the issues? Manager(s?) are rarely there and all I see are younger staff (who do a great job in their capacity btw) that don’t really have answers. Having a single working water fountain and providing equipment in high demand isnt asking very much. You need to speak to the manager, whomever that is, because you also did not give a name or contact info.

The Kernersville Planet Fitness is a great gym. It is always clean and the staff is super friendly. They truly provide a no-judgment environment as advertised. Kudos!

Been to a lot of gyms in different areas of the country. This is by far the cleanest. They REGULARLY clean the equipment, even parts of the machines that couldnt possibly get sweat on it. They even clean the floor. Im usually there after 10pm so everything I witness happens during that time.

Watch out for the hidden fees and dues… I haven’t even been here for over a year and when I asked for a refund for dues this month, they said absolutely not. This company has no customer service skills. Their business model will crumble.

Great place to work out, plenty of equipment for everybody. Been going for years. I dont think Ive ever been there and the mens bathroom didnt have a terrible odor, probably need a pressure wash it daily haha. Over all good spot.

Ive been a member here for years and I love it! I avoided going during the mandatory mask bs, but now Im back at it and loving every minute! Also, Noah was very friendly and helpful! Great staff!

Great staff! Parris & Tabieus were very helpful and friendly! Very clean and cool for a comfortable workout. Tanning bed area is very small and could use more accommodation but overall a great gym.

Easy to sign up and register. Plenty of equipment available on first day. Commitment to cleanliness and safety evident with lots of cleaning stations and space between cardio machines. Equipment was all in great shape. Really like the the specific ab exercise area.

I recently signed up (PF Black Card!!), and I had a fantastic first impression. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive. The gym, equipment, etc. were very clean/sanitary, so it felt safe to work out. I was really interested in the HydroMassage and wasnt disappointed. I felt super comfortable here and enjoyed the judgment-free atmosphere.

The gym is clean ButI’ve noticed that the men’s bathroom and showers are not getting the cleaning they need. As well as the floors .the 2 times I forgot shower shoes I ended up getting athletes feet fungus from them dirty showers and recently went end of July 2021 and the bathroom smelled like sewage and the showers had flying nats alll over them it’s scary to have to buy shower shoes because the employees lack cleaning sad thing is I’ve been with this gym for 3 years it’s been clean but I’m guessing they was when the employees caredUpdate tried to shower and see this in there umm this is beyond gross August 5

I like everything about my Planet Fitness member experience. Im 67 and have been working out since I was 15. Ive belonged to many different fitness clubs and have never found one better than Planet Fitness. The weigh machines are user friendly, smooth, and focused. The many variations of cardio equipment enable a cardio workout using different muscle groups while keeping the workout interesting. The many video entertainment screens are well positioned and offer good variety. Free weights are abundant in conjunction with appropriate benches. Everything is very well maintained. But best of all is the Planet Fitness Express 30 minute workout. As I have aged I find it harder to consistently work all my muscle groups. The PF Express works my entire body in addition to cardio (the ultimate superset). Finally the price is great. The absolute best value Ive ever encountered on a fitness club.

Usually a great gym but witnessed an employee scream and cuss at customers over not having a mask pulled up. Very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I understand respecting covid guidelines, but customers should not be treated that way.

Ive been going to PF for 11 years. The facilities and associates are top notch. Governor Coopers exec order regarding masks exempts folks with chronic respiratory conditions. I am a lifelong asthmatic and have COPD so that applies to me. I can manage wearing a mask while moving throughout the gym and will gladly continue to do so but struggle when required to wear while exercising. Is there a way PF could issue exception wristbands like at the YMCA? This would indicate to other patrons that we honestly have an issue that prevents us from safely wearing a mask. I would be more than willing to provide written evidence from my doctor. Thanks!

I am very upset with planet fitness. It’s a great gym. However their communication is very poor. My membership has been frozen since March 2020 so I was not paying. In September they start charging me without warning. They can communicate about their special events etc. etc. but they can’t let me know that my account was going to be charged again. Very disappointing.

I love this place. I used to be a member at the YMCA but i always felt it was so crowded. At planet fitness i feel like i have all the room in the world to get my grind on! I can’t wait for it to open back up:(((!

Very clean and maintained. Employees were going around cleaning the machines every 15 to 20 minutes even after customers cleaning them themselves. There are signs in between machines to promote social distancing.I was nervous to go back for the first time but it was great.

The Kernersville location has a world of machines plus free weights. It is never crowded. Everything is clean. The staff are very nice and helpful. For $10 a month, you cant beat it.

The worst. I havent stepped foot in this gym since March, and when I try to cancel the day my account was charged they basically tell me they can do nothing to help me. It hasnt stopped being a pandemic, and this is one of the only companies Ive seen that isnt willing to do anything to help, or keep their customers.

Had to cancel my 5 year membership yesterday because of how rude the employees were. I was in between sets (kneeling down to change my music), I was approached by an employee and she told me that if I wasnt actively working out that I had to put a mask on. I told her I was in the middle of my sets and she got a nasty attitude and walked away. Upon leaving Planet Fitness, I went to the front desk to cancel my membership. A different employee was helping me and I explained to her that I was canceling because in the email, it clearly states customers must wear a mask while moving around the facility. Not stationary in between sets. The lady didnt acknowledge me, didnt look up at me and didnt say a word! I figured the employees at Planet Fitness had a little more respect than that. Very disappointed with PF!

Tried two hydro massages. Both were broke. I waited and waited and they went unfixed. Drove an hour to get here. Highly disappointed.

I called in at end of December to renew my $99 membership. I was told by rep that it didnt have to be done that day and just come by in the next 30 days to take advantage of past deal. I visited today to renew membership and they would not honor what their rep had stated earlier. I have been a member since they initially opened but would rather do business now with people that honor their word.

I have enjoyed using this local franchise of Planet Fitness for over a year. Good selection of machines, seems well-kept up and cleaned regularly. The staff I have encountered have been friendly and have answered my questions and have pleasant expressions. It is nice to see the staff of all shapes and sizes which reflect the clientele. The judgement-free zone makes the gym less intimidating and it seems there is a variety of folks who work out here. Recently, the implementation of a free teen summer has allowed my two sons to come to the gym with me for free. I love this as it helps instill in them a respect for keeping themselves in shape and the fact that it is free is awesome because teenagers are expensive.

The staff is friendly and courteous. Machines are always clean plus love the environment at all times! Thanks for keeping Planet Fitness a great workout center.

My husband and I joined this gym in September of 2018. The staff has always been very personable and helpful. I have commented, and thanked them often, for the cleanliness of the facility. We still go on a regular basis, and have not had any bad experiences. We are fortunate that our schedule allows us to go when the place is not very crowded.

I love planet fitness! I have a black card which entitles me to go to any planet fitness and the triad and surrounding areas. I travel throughout the triad and the gym is very important to me! The planet fitness in kernersville is clean the staff is friendly if I have questions I dont hesitate to ask and get answers! The machines are in good shape! Thank you planet fitness!

Their showers are not clean. Be careful. Also they will not allow you to visit other facilities in the same franchise with out paying more fees. This is not cool. Been a member for over ten years and they do not appreciate their long time members.

I went in for my first workout on a Monday evening after work. The place was jam packed. I have never seen a gym so full. People waiting on almost every machine. The lighting in the place is ridiculously low and not energizing at all.They have cleaning stations throughout with paper towels and bottles of cleaning solution. Thats good because I didnt see any of the half dozen or more PF staff cleaning anything. The machines could use some cleaning. Wear gloves!The main reason I signed up was to get tanning at $20 a month and the occasional workout. As expected, the tanning beds were full as well. The kind young lady did say I could wait in a waiting room for my turn if I wanted.Monday night is a popular night and probably not the best night to go for the first visit but if the volume was any indication of the rest of the week then I will be cancelling my membership. Before you sign up go visit during the hours you will be working out and see how busy they are and then decide if a cut-rate membership is for you. The black membership is still a great deal for access to tanning beds 24/7 but be sure to go later in the evening.

I love how big their 360 room is compared to other pf locations. I spend most of my time there when I come in. Clean and spacious locker rooms and the massage chair area for black card members is so relaxing.

Found out even though I pay for the black membership so I can have someone join me on workout days, now your guests can Not join you for the massage chairs! So you can bring a guest but they cant untilize the entire gym with you?? I bought that plan so they could join me. Not to sit and wait for me. Seems a little cheesey!! If thats going to be the case they should at least come up with another option to be able to even pay extra so your guest doesnt have to sit there and wait for you☹️. With the extra fee for the upgrade and the yearly fees they charge I would think to they could come up with something!

Clean gym with a very friendly staff

This location of Planet Fitness is super nice! Its been renovated in the last two years or so and it makes quite the difference. The layout is one of the best Ive seen in a PF. By the way, I have the Black Card membership which allows me to travel to any location, well worth the money! When they remodeled this location, they upgraded the shower and dressing room areas. Not only does each shower stall have a dressing area and a shower area but there are dressing rooms like you would find in a nice clothing store with actual doors that lock and benches. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions about where certain machines had been moved! The only downside is this location does not have built in hair dryers, a mild inconvenience!

Was a member for over 10 years, sad to see the $99 a year go away. Do not like the hassle of a monthly draft and fees to deal with. Thanks but had to join somewhere else.

For a black card member, this is one of the nicest, friendliest planet fitness Ive been to yet!Equipment is always clean, staff is helpful....including the personal trainers, and the locker rooms are well taken care of.Keep up the hard work! Its worth it!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!! I brought my little nephew in there and I was going to show him around the planet and try to boost his self esteem. Walked into the planet and asked if they would let us try it out. 15$ Each for a 1 day pass. I asked for a military offer and nothing was given. If you dont support our troops your not getting my business.Go right down the street and join Triangle fitness. My people there will take care of you. Plus, its a way better gym.

I have been going to this gym since I started my journey in 2013. I have lost 130 lbs and kept it off but new management and owners make me want to switch gyms. I used to have a plaque with my story till they removed it from the wall. have limited mats now in the ab area and you have to wait for someone to finish to use one. I am sorry but yall need to do better. We dosnt have all these problems under the old manager or owners. If things dont change I will contact corporate next and find another gym. Bright spot is Paige and Jeff is the morning always pleasant and cheerful. Makes me smile when I see them

I love Planet Fitness of Kernersville! Ive never felt comfortable in gyms, but this place is different! It just has a different feel to it...The staff does an absolutely amazing job of keeping it so clean and neat...and theyre so welcoming and friendly! Theyre extremely helpful and knowledgeable!

First time coming to this location and I wasnt disappointed with the cleanliness and how attentive the staff is with explaining the layout of their facility.

The Staff at the Kernersville location is super sweet! This is probably the cleanest gym Ive ever been too! Showers always clean! Staff is always working hard. If I ever have any fitness questions the trainer is knowledgeable and very helpful! It is nice they are 24/7 also!

We relocated to another area. My wife cancelled her membership and the very next day we had a$39.00 charge on our account. I was told that it was a recurring membership fee and had my wife cancelled three days earlier we would not have been charged. I was also told even though we cancelled the membership and the charge was for the upcoming year, they could not credit the account. I have never dealt with a company that could not credit you back money. planet Fitness in Kernersville felt$ 39.00 was more important than doing what was right.

The one in kernersville has a stuck up feel to it, the Asian girl that works up front seems to act very snooty towards gym members. And seems more of a hang out up front. If that situation was handles it would be a great place.

First time trying out the Kernersville location. I like their set up and finally tried the stairstepper. Clean as usual.

This place is a joke, this is the third time stopping by to get my boys signed up for the promo they have for students this summer and each time I need something different!1st time their brother brought them (who is 22) and was told has to be parent/guardian, that is understandable.2nd time I was told they needed an ID (inwhich one of them had their permit)3rd time I get an ID done and today Im told oh we need a birth certificate!! I tell Juan and Melissa how each time I come here its something different and in order to get an ID make you have to furnish a birth certificate. If the birth certificate was all I needed I could have saved the money I paid for the ID! It is ridiculous how they wont accept a government issued ID with picture but I can bring in a birth certificate that doesnt guarantee that it is that person! SMH

This Planet Fitness is 100x better than my home club in Chicago. That is a travesty because the facility in Chicago was build from the ground up and cleanliness is a big problem for them.Initially you will be deceived by the space and machines available if you judge only from the outside. The use of space here is exceptional. Machines are always clean and in good working order, bathroom smells fresh, and water machine for water bottles are just a few things that makes working out here a pleasant experience. Cant speak on weights or lifting area except...they have one.Hope this level of excellence never changes 👍👍

I’ve tried to cancel my membership 2 times already because I can’t afford it right now.. this has been going on a year and the wouldn’t let me cancel before and still took my annual membership fee out after over drafting my bank account several times.. tried to cancel again this past week and they say I owe $69 PLUS what they are about to take out for my annual fee for something I haven’t even used in a year and I’ve been pregnant the last 7 months and haven’t even thought about going. Told the lady I needed a manager which of course wasn’t there and she said she would have them call me and they haven’t. Now my bank account is about to be over drafted once again because they refuse to cancel my account and I don’t have the money to pay. I’ve never seen such poor customer service and I worked in customer service for 4 years. Money hungry is all Planet Fitness is. I’m sure they wouldn’t hurt missing my measly almost $100 they are trying to take from me but my family will..

Was looking for gyms in the area and wanted to check out the location with a free trail pass but apparently they don’t do that...They charge $15 for a ONE day pass or $30 for - week pass..which is funny because their membership cost is only $10 a month.(plus their maintence fee and whatever else they charge for)A rip off especially for a mediocre gym.Will look into other gyms in the area!
