Susanna Nunn is the best agent I have worked with in my 35 years of having insurance. She proactively emailed me yesterday about a grant opportunity for a new roof through NCIUA. I was on line and applying for one of the 1600 grants at the opening bell. She always calls before projected NC hurricanes to asked about raising coverage levels. Recently needed a renter policy for college daughter and she craved out the time to ensure she was eligible to move in. Cant say enough about this terrific agent and Insurance agency!!!!!!

I purchased a renters insurance through state farms online system, and a few days later I receive an email from this agency indicating that they didnt receive the alarm system documentation and asking me to send the documentation (with an irritating wording if I do have it ) from the alarm company - otherwise I will be charged a fee.First, if I didnt have an alarm system I wouldnt put it on the application in the first place. Second, if you needed a document for it then you should have made that clear on the online application. I wasnt asked to send any documents when I made the payment. And its strange to ask for a document for the alarm system but not for the other things, such as construction materials, that I selected on the same application.I explained it to the agent (Kendall) that I am an educator and barely have time to deal with these kinds of stuff, so I sent her the apartment complex web page to confirm that I have the alarm system installed in my apartment. But she said that she doesnt know the online application process and insisted on the document. She also said that not to let these misunderstandings happen, they suggest customers to call them rather than using online services. I dont think there is any problem with using the online system, but the state farm should definitely train their agents better regarding their products and application methods. The way agents handle issues is also an area to improve.I am aware that small insurance companies play this game to get money from you but it is really sad to see a similar approach by a big company like state farm.

State Farm has only recently become my insurance provider for home and auto. I have banked with USAA for nearly 20 years and had never thought of switching my insurance from them to SF. So far I have no complaints and dont see myself having any anytime soon.
