Kia Ora Fitness has wonderful water aerobics classes that are different every weekday. Theres a variety of gym equipment and other classes as well, plus a smoothie bar. The gym membership is a good deal as well.
This gym is a quiet gym with very few people. It has pretty much everything you could imagine to get a good workout. The staff is very friendly and the protien shakes are such a great deal. I would give it a 10/5 if possible.
We have been members since 2008. I really like having a pool to finish my workout and my wife has always been pleased with the classes. During these COVID times everyone is being very attentive about keeping the equipment sanitized. We both feel safe here and are so happy to have these facilities available again.
Great clean facility with all the equipment you need. was closed for the past 6 months because of state covid closures, but open now and it looks like the owners took the down time to make a great gym even better. I love working out here and the smoothies are great too
I’ve been going to KiaOra since 2013 and I still love it! Locally owned by a TC couple who care about people’s fitness and well-being. The gym is always clean and inviting and they’ve been taking major precautions against COVID since the first time they were able to reopen (they are now reopened for a second time). You will feel safe and secure at Kia plus it’s a 24-hour facility!
Dirtiest gym in Tri Cities. Most of the equipment did not work. The pool and hot tub smell bad and make you smell bad even after a shower. Stay away from here.I love Golds Gym and Planet Fitness Gym. No problems at both places.
Purely happy with my service, will recommend to others.
The businesses following protocols during covid at their own expense are the ones I will support in the future..whether we agree with the governor or not, these owners are doing what they believe is right for our safety..thank you
I literally grew up in this gym. Moved away from tri-cities in 2009 and have been to gyms all over the US since, but I have never been somewhere with as much community bonding since, especially in the group fitness classes.
Super clean, huge indoor pool, very professional, cheap rates, COVID safe
Great place. Very clean.
Love this gym! Very relaxed and not crowded. Equipment is a little older but well maintained and clean. Personal trainer Kevin is great! Pool area is fantastic. Best of all the price is right!
Yes, it is the cheapest place that has an indoor pool but it is almost always too cold to get into. The staff at the counter are always nice but the male owner isnt. Good classes that come with membership, even a sauna and hot tub.. but I needed a pool, that was what my membership was for. If I cant use it most of the time I have to as myself why do I still have a membership?
Great gym machines and weights and almost always be available even when theyre at their busiest it seems that you can get you whatever youre trying to get to pretty quickly and you can even do circuits they have plenty of classes they do have a swimming pool thats only open when staff is working I do have a 24-hour interest pass so I do go in sometimes when it is basically completely deserted I will enjoy going here for years to come the juice bar is great they have great blended protein shakes and whatever such things I do like coming here quite a bit my wife comes here as well we like to go here whenever we have a chance.
I love this pool, and the recumbent bicycle. I have been a member for years, and it is a relaxing place. Classes are good. Older place but keeps cost of membership down. Opportunity to get on computer for help with healthy lifestyle. Trainers are well educated and professional.
This gym has it all! I love to swim and they have a great pool and workout area and huge studio where they hold Les Mills workout classes
Kia Ora is one of the best family gyms in the Tri-cities. Their classes are fun and the instructors are FANTASTIC. I havent gone to a single class where the instructor didnt welcome me personally. Each member of the staff is very kind and welcoming. I recommend this gym to all my friends and family.
Very good facilities (including pool and open gym. The staff are really excellent. Lisa provides small instructions re body position during yoga poses and Pilates that result in you getting more out of it. I love the Les Mills classes. Easier to put in the effort with a group and the rhythm of the music
The only reason Kia Ora has 2 stars is because the pool area is maintained very well. I joined for the pool and then membership changed, cost me the same and now I have less access to the pool. So, in short, I pay to have minimal time for workout. And, because I work, the 2-3 hrs available to me are a kid zone (since we know parents use the pool as a babysitter for when they work out). I wonder how annoying those having gym classes would find it if there were kids running around getting in the way during their workout. Kids are kids, but I come to work out in the pool because of physical limitations and have no desire to interact with ir work out around (inconsiderate) children. Would be really nice to have a couple days of the week in the evening that wasnt open to youth swim.
I really love the swimming area and specifically the lifeguards. They always do an excellent job of making sure that everyone in the pool is safe. I wouldnt feel safer at a military base because they do such an amazing job. They are never doing homework like some of the guards at other places I swim at.
This is a locally run business by a couple that have lived in the community for 20+ years, which I always love. Support small business! They care a lot about the health of their clientele and work hard to provide services that are just as good as the big box gyms - I would argue better because their staff are all people who care deeply about the community. They have done a great job following safety protocols during COVID as well, which cant be said for other clubs in the area. Definitely check them out!
I enjoy the pool and sauna! Its more conveince over quality. Its adequate but nothing exceptional. It is less crowded than other gyms and has an older clientele. So less gym rats.
I could not agree more with Bill McMann. The lifeguards at Kia Ora are truly excellent. I always make sure to go when the lifeguard by the name of Dan is working. Dan has a knack for bringing happiness and a good spirit to the workplace while still doing his job effectively. I know that when Im swimming at Kia Ora Ill be safe but still have a good time.
The owners updated and remodeled the pool area and it is fantastic! This gym has all the good stuff you need to workout at a reasonable membership price. Got to say, Im loving the new and improved pool!
They have a nice pool hot tub sauna in each bathroom and then all kinds of fitness machinery and for the price you cant beat it.
Not bad place, just bad training. One person told me that I was done paying my membership dues in December but yet they still took out for January! Bad communication and customer service. Very disappointed.
Until tonight my Kia Ora workouts have been phenomenal, my buddy and I love the less busy gym and good atmosphere. Tonight my friend and I were doing a form of skull crushers where you allow the weight to rest on the floor and then conduct a skull crusher and then put the weight back to the floor. Due to both of us going heavy on our weight the last inch or two the weight tends to fall back to the ground behind our heads. This creates a sound that is less loud then a deadlift hitting the ground would be. Halfway through our sets we were confronted by a lady, who we later found out would be the owner, who extremely rudely without asking us what we were doing told us Do not throw my weights, and I know you were throwing them. This is a respectable place and unless you want to buy me a new bar dont throw them. When we tried to explain what we were doing she cut my friend off saying, well youre going to hurt your shoulders anyways so dont throw my weights. Then proceeded to walk off without a please or thank you. She was so rude it completely killed our motivation to workout and just made us mad and want to leave. I mentioned deadlifts earlier because we asked the front desk and they said people are allowed to deadlift in the gym which would have been much louder. Its unfortunate the owner of all people would treat customers this way.
I have been a member of Kia Ora this past year, taking classes, using cardiovascular equip, 4-5 times a week. Staff always friendly i.e. Melita Frost and Lynda Loscow. Feels like family.
I went to use the pool because of bad Back and shoulders, but the pool was icy cold. I tried running in water buy it was hard to get use of temperature. My physician Joseph Salinas suggested I swim and use hot tub to work it out. My insurance Apple Health would not accept massage therapy. Found out pool was being used by Southridge swim team Nov 2018 - Fen 2018 330pm-530pm and that is why temperature so cold. The Manager Carl should of let members know by phone, text, email or by letter. All I found was sign posted on bathroom wall I am still in pain it has been 5 days have not been able to use Kiaora Pool. Maybe this evening.
Really disappointed with my interaction with this business, most specifically the owner. I was told when I signed up (not only on the phone, but in person) that my 10 year old could work out with me at the facility (treadmills and resistance bands). After being a member for 5-6 months, my daughter and I went in (after working out before there) and were told that due to insurance reasons, she couldnt be on the workout floor. I was disappointed, as I was told beforehand specifically that it was ok she works out, but was willing to move past the misrepresentation by the employee if they were willing to make it right. After speaking with the owner, Karl, I was informed that they would not refund my money and they acted as if canceling my contract was a favor. The unfortunate part of this is that they wouldnt have received that revenue had they been honest up front as a business. I gave Karl the opportunity once again to refund my money stating my displeasure and was made to feel like the bad guy because I wasnt willing to just let it go. I very much dislike leaving negative reviews, as its impactful for a business, but this is beyond acceptable for me as a consumer, and as a business person myself. I caution you to look at other options when searching for a gym.
The Zumba classes here are very enjoyable and a good workout! The instructor had built a community that keeps us coming back!
I love going to Zumba there on wednesdays clean, spacey place ! Great staff love the environmentThinking of starting my memberships Here (;
Schedule always confusing. Instructors not really prepared and NO personal trainers available (and very unfriendly)
The classes are fun but the facilities are run down and the pool roof looks like its about to collapse.
Best place to do my water exercises🙌
Best gym classes ever.
Best deal, which includes pool, around!
Great classes and a fabulous pool!
Do yourself a favor by not signing up here. It’s expensive, filthy, poorly maintained, and the owners are extremely unprofessional.
Like the place alot.
Started a membership for the wife to continue her pool workouts. I started swimming laps. 64 laps = 1 mile.
Best fitness center in the tri cities!!!
Never packed and good staff
Friendly staff, clean, great equipment!
Nice gym
Need to join
