All these facilities are pretty much the same, so I wont bother going into it. What I will say is this- when my granddaughter left they would not allow her to pack her own things. She arrived at the airport with 15 minutes to spare and one small carry on. She had just received all new clothing and expensive shoes- not paid for by the facility- but private money. Shocker- none of it was sent back. She came back with some too small ratty t-shirts. She has no clothes, no shoes, no hygiene products. Nothing we sent her was returned. Just the new stuff alone she had was over 500.00.Multiple calls and emails are not returned. We would pay for the shipping even, but no answer. I imagine someone has a new wardrobe. Sent home with no belongings, no follow up doctor appointment, and no definite place to live- the least they could have done was returned her clothes.

From week one after orientation I knew this place wasnt right! From Micheal and Marys disorganized orientation to my first week going live and actually being on the floor and hearing how some staff members speak to these clients as if they are inhuman and are just objects/property. This place is desperately in need of new management. If you have any significant degrees or licenses that you worked hard to accomplish DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT work here especially as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). This particular establishment is filled with misrepresentation and false documentations. They do whatever they can to make everything look good on paper. I worked here for almost 4 weeks and quit because I was told by Mrs. Taka Smith (The woman who works in the 100 building and occasionally works as a DSP) to chart on clients I never laid eyes on all because its not fair one person should chart on 11 clients by themselves. Im sorry but I worked in establishments where I charted on a unit of 32 patients by myself because I was there and witnessed what went on throughout the night. Anyways, when I told management/campus supervisor for night shift Mr. Dennis, he told me thats what they do and that it needs to be done and for me I thought that was unethical and a liability for me in the future if something was to come up later, my licenses and degrees would be on the line but apparently when Mrs. Smith is working thats what she does and staff there do as she says and falsely chart on clients.Anyways, if you are looking for some small cash and experience while you further your career, the clients are not bad at all in my opinion, despite whatever they tell you in orientation to scare new hires from staying, you just have to be very observant of certain behaviors and mental disorders that you were taught in school that they dont teach you in a two week orientation. I believe the problem is management, and certain staff not equipped to handle those with behavioral/mental and IDD issues. The management will set you up for failure, thats why the turn over is so high and the staff currently there will let you know their concerns but will not speak up because they feel they will not be heard from management so they are all there for a check until they find something better. Its all up to you what you are willing to deal with for a $15 an hour job. Proceed to this job and position with caution because management makes this job a very high liability!!!!

Its a terrible facility and extremely traumatic, after leaving there I ended up getting diagnosed with PTSD because of all the trauma caused by that facility. It is not a mental health facility and should not label itself as such, it is not equipped to treat any sort of mental health disorders. This facility shouldn’t even be open because of how terrible of a place it is.

I was there, and while there was fighting and stuff, it ultimately made me a better person and i kind of miss it. The staff there are amazing especially Discovery.

The organization recently adopted Servant Leadership as its platform. You can see the positivity on the campus. Devereux Georgia, treats some of the most complex and challenging children across the country and its not easy work. The benefits are AMAZING and there is room for growth.

Great to hear positive experiences from the staff and their support for leadership in exchange for potential brownie points but this is by far one of the worst prtfs in the state. Abuse of power, coercion, witness intimidation and reprisal all were present during my stay on the butterfly unit . Also the client and family advocate is useless and doesn’t escalate your claims and doesn’t get back with you on resolutions if there even is one. If you are at all wanting to place your child here and have concerns go to Denise McClain and set up regular appointments. Quality and risk management does more than CFA. Also know your rights, staff abuse restraints and work collectively with upper management to have green sharks on their side and threaten to litigate families who speak up. Since 2000 there have been on going allegations of sexual assault one of which was substantiated to which devereux cited the girls history in an effortTo blame her . The perpetrator is now serving 40 years and the victim was awarded a sum, thank god .

I was in the group home part....years ago. Hated it!! Loved my staff all of them..definitely isnt a safe place to be.

Brian is super chill I really enjoyed working with him he should be a manager he really knows how to deal with his customers I came in looking for the rest room and this guy talked me into buying a Queen bedroom set he had me laughing 😂 I’ve never met anyone like him before in my life he could sale salt to a snail the guy really knows his stuff I looked around at all the other customers and they all looked bored with their salesman everyone wanted to work with Brian from now on I’ll definitely be working with Brian

They did not take care of me on Bravo 610. Ms. Tabrina treated me so bad. She also treated the other kids different. She showed favoritism towards some kids. One moment she was nice and the next minute she was mean to me. And she also called me names like slow and no good

I was a Client at Devereux years ago it helped me get through a tough time in my life. The staff were great at helping me out with a lot of things that I was going through. if they can help me I know that they can be a great help to you.

Firt off Mary made the company look like devilwork instead of devereux. Something is bothering her at home or in her personal life hurt people hurt people.This lady is a diffanmation of my character as she lied and told other staff members I fell asleep and was not getting the information in oreintation when she made me repeadly go over different first aid scenarios or what ever we were learning at the time and clearly checked me off and gave me a passing grade for the different course study at the time. She also slander my reputation and character as she lied and said other staff members who was teaching courses said I was falling asleep, but when in the meeting with the personnel she couldnt even explain who said anything about me because she made it up, I even asked the other instructers just to insure my self and they said I was doing fine and loved how assertive I was, completly opposite of what allegations she put out againist me. Her and Ms.Rigina-Hr the lady that hired me both ended up calling me into to a meeting just to fire me. Prior to that I had just had a meeting less then 2 hrs before that with the Personnel and Mary about what they can do to make oreintation better, I insisted that they should consider 10 min breaks periodically to go outside or stand up they were completely complaint to what I said and told me I have a week to prove myself if I wanted to be here and Mary said I would hate to turn you over to Hr, so why did they fire me 2 hrs later. So this lady has me emotionally stressed physically stressed and now Im up at night missing sleep . My reputation and character was completly stepped on now Im without a job losing pay I moved from where I was staying almost a whole hour away to help these kids, clearly not about the money even turned some jobs down just too furfill a purpose and do what I feel I was called to do. This lady has a power problem racism and on top of all that she clearly stated when we started oreintation that if you fall asleep, come late, and are on your phone its grounds for termination. One guy came to orientation late everyday, orientation starts at 9am I would be their 8:30 am everyday this guy even showed up while we were getting are Tb results 20 mins after oreintation all on camera.This lady Mary follows no company code and is bias and it is conspicuous. I am terminally stressed and completely hurt and out of work when the same rules did not clearly apply and on top of that got fired after a meeting where they told me I have week to prove I want to be their. Why she fired me? I tell you she didnt like what I said to the personnel in the meeting and just didnt like me from the beginningvfor whatever reason as she tried to make an example out of me after the meeting by assembling a line of 7 and added me last as the 8th person when I could have went with another group. We were performing CPR on a demo dummy when we were to check to see if place were safe, next put on gloves, then check to see if dummy was responsive then call cold blue in facility or 911 if at a restaurant. Something so simple like cold blue left side of pool she wanted me to say cold blue intrance 5 feet deep, which I said over and over until I told her try the same scenario on someone else because everyone was looking at me like he saying it right. This lady is not a teacher people were even scared to get up and use restroom partially black ladies or she would give you a soar look. People from within company even talked bad about her. She is completely bias to people of her own ethnicity and really has some issues that she brings on others when its suppose to be a learning environment. She lied on me caused me stress without a job just because she wants power and recognition on who she is. College graduate I feel completly feel like i was a victim too stereotype racism and so on as I was escorted out like I broke the law they will be having lawsuit pending.

Bad place I was there and did not have a good experience the staff were supposed to help me but they didn’t and when I was there it was a hard time and a lot of the staff were not nice and mean. and I remember a few staff that were just nice and ok and stuff but it was only a few of them and all the other staff were all mean and did not help me at all it did not even look like they tried to help me at all and I was there starting in November of the year 2014 and I got out in January 2016 I was there for that long and got no help that place is really bad I would say it is a prison because when I was there it felt like a prison for me that place is so bad I would not recommend going there or working there or even sending anyone there I would not recommend doing that stuff if you don’t half to so it’s your choice if you want to work there or send someone there or go there but I don’t recommend it so if you do it you might not like it and you might not get the help you need and want so you shouldn’t even bother doing so that place is so bad I don’t know what it’s like there now that is what it was like when I was there so just like I said when I was there it was like a prison for me so I don’t know and I don’t know what goes on there now so that place is bad and treated me like a prisoner.

I loved it there the staff and nurses are absolutely outstanding they helped me in so many ways and i never been back i was there once got out and actually have not been in a mental health correction facility since the day i got discharged aka released from Devereux Advanced Behavioral health care or whatever the full name of the place is i went to the location in Kennasaw GA

I just signed my son out of this facility today after he was viciously attacked & beat in the head by another child.This staff has their hands full. My son witnessed an attempted suicide, riots & other kids making weapons to attack staff in the 14 days he was there. I even witnessed children attempting to overpower staff & fight while I was there. Feel very sorry for all involved. Thankful I got my child out.

I was a former client. (Got out early this year) Staff are biased and side with the clients who are the loudest. Or the coolest I got my blue phase, but was treated unfairly by the staff while trying to live and get out. The staff on the particular unit that I was on treated me horrible for the most part. I have dreams of me coming back there, and the best I can describe them are nightmares. Devereux is not a Safe place.

Devereux Georgia is DISGUSTING. No one should allow ANY child to be put in to that place. It is unsanitary, the head of Deveruex Georgia only sees the clients as money and there are so many scandals taking place underneath the DJJs nose!

I am a former clienti was sent to the group home part because it was the only place that could take me while i waited for the custody case to settle, due to my various allergies and medical issues, not mental.while i was there i was attacked in my own bedroom and the staff came only after another client started screaming stop your going to kill her. they took me to the er and the diagnosed me with a fractured scull, bruised diaphragm, and a concussion. their moto is ... a safe place. that is only one of the reasons this hell hole is not a safe place.as i write this we have an open court case against devereux. please listen to me, do not send your kids here they will come out with more problems than when you sent them. i never believed hell was real, but now that i have been there and back, i am a shadow bearing the weight of others sorrow.

When I stayed there I enjoyed myself while getting the treatment I needed

I hated it. The kids suck and the staff can be dicks. I saw a kid get jumped 3 times in a day. My stuff got stolen

Can you say dishonest and horrible my daughter got jumped and the kids some how got the hold of some scissors and cut up her clothes and shoes just wrong for being open, they don’t even watch the kids

I was 11 years old from Baltimore MD with a bad temper and overweight with the help of the staff and my personal dad forever coach gains turned me into a young man who accept and can cope with the world they said I wouldnt live to see 15 Im 37 wish I never left and will visit soon love you all
