The guides were professional and helpful. Every day we caught amazing fish, met awesome people, and experienced Alaska like never before. I highly recommend checking out Hooksetters if you are looking for an awesome fishing trip

We had so much fun in Alaska/at Hooksetters! Everyone treated us so well. The guides found us fish to catch and we brought home more than we anticipated! Carmen made sure we never went hungry and the food was always delicious! Glenn and Karen run a seamless operation and work tirelessly to make sure everyone has the vacation they dreamed about!

Absolutely love coming here on vacations. The food is amazing, lodging comfortable, as well as the staff (thanks Karen!). My fiancé has an extreme peanut, shellfish, and mushroom allergy that Karmyn and Heather diligently worked with, he did not get cross-contaminated or sick in the slightest. Most restaurants don’t even pay this much attention. They even offered alternative options too so everyone was full and happy. Love the 6 o clock Happy Hour around the fire and horse-shoe pit, already counting down the days till we’re back!

This is a fantastic lodge with a great staff. They make you feel like youre visiting friends instead of just paying money to fish and grab a bed. Their guides were all top notch on our 6 days of fishing. They manage the schedule well and react quickly to weather or personnel issues. We were never bored. Beds are great in all rooms and cabins. Really nice fire pit and gathering area with hors doeuvre every night at 6:00. Dinner at 7:00 was excellent every night...pork tenderloin, filet mignon, halibut, salmon, pasta, etc. Breakfast is 24/7 grab and go. They make you a sack lunch every day for the river. BYOB and theyll have a drink with you and tell some great stories. Be ready to fish your butt off. 0430 - 0700 starts and fish for 7-8 hrs. We came home with 92 lbs of fish and a lot of great memories with new friends.

The atmosphere is amazing. There is nothing like having some drinks around the fire pit at night. The dinner is fantastic, and the friendly staff will make you feel right at home. They offer rain gear for when it happens to be wet or cold outside during your fishing trip.

We had a group of 9 guys and had a great trip! The staff was very friendly and offered a family atmosphere that makes you feel like your part of the family. They offer a great variety of guided fishing trips that are well coordinated and fun. And if you havent had enough fishing they set you up with fishing gear and point you in the direction of some good fishing spots. Most importantly after a day of fishing you come back to the lodge for a full on 5 star meal that is delicious!Overall a great way to spent time in Alaska and I will definitely return to this lodge again.

AMAZING TRIP!!!!!!!!!!Took my son for his 21st birthday and stayed 6 days with five days of fishing on the Kenai, Kasilof, and out of Homer for halibut. ALL of the guides were professional and knew all the good spots. The lodge was top notch and the staff made you feel right at home. All inclusive meant JUST that. Once you get there, there was no need for anything, because they provided all you needed. Food was fantastic, dinner was all together laughing and enjoying one another. One of my favorite time of day was when everyone got back from their day fishing, we all got together at the campfire with their drinks and chatted about fishing. Definitely the perfect place for first timers like us. There are many repeat visitors as well, and I can certainly see why.Thank you, THANK you, THANK YOU for the life memory you gave us!!!The Martinez Boys

I had always wanted to visit Alaska and do some of the great fishing I had heard about so I started looking at places to stay. I couldnt believe just how many lodges there are to choose from. I spent a great deal of time comparing lodges, prices, and what all was offered. In the end my buddy and I decided on Hooksetters and was it ever the right call. I booked thru Glenn and Russell Fishing Company. The lodge itself is beautiful and the guest rooms are quite nice. We decided to stay in one of the private 2-person cabins. There are two beds in each cabin with a mini fridge and a full bath. While I am sure staying in the lodge would be great, we really liked the cabins. They have a total of three 2-person cabins and one 4-person cabin. Perhaps the best thing about the grounds is the covered fire pit. Thats where everyone hangs out. Plenty of seating around the pit and it gives you a chance to meet all the other folks at the lodge. We made some great friends while there and have been invited to visit a Texas ranch anytime we want. The food was excellent. The lady they have doing the cooking really shines. There was plenty of food and it all tasted great. The evening meal is a sit down dinner. One night we had steak, one night was fresh salmon, one night was pork loin, etc. Lunch is packed for you to take fishing. It was usually a sandwich with fruit, chips, cookies, drinks, etc. They also provide a small cooler to carry everything in for your day on the water. Breakfast was pastries, muffins, toast, breakfast burritos, fruit, usually some type of breakfast casserole, etc. You wont go hungry. The fishing was every bit as good as I have heard about! I caught sockeye and silver salmon until I got tired of reeling them in. Part of out package included a fly-out trip and you really have to do one of those. Just the sights from the plane is worth it but of course we caught some beautiful silver salmon. We also went halibut fishing and caught our limit of them as well. The guides are exceptional. A really knowledgeable and friendly group of guys who truly seemed to enjoy being there with you. We were also able to bring back a 50lb box of fillets. After fishing they clean and process your catch and deliver them to your door the day you leave. They easily stayed frozen until we arrived home and we are still enjoying them today. Not sure what else to say. If you are looking for a great Alaskan Fishing Adventure look no further than the Hooksetters Lodge. Maybe the best compliment I can give them is that we have already booked our return trip for 2013!
