Well, farewell old friend. It appears the 24 hr Mason location is the latest Katy victim of the Covid... or is it gross corporate mismanagement? Either way it appears Ill be driving further in order to stay in shape from here on out. Ive been a member of 24 hour fitness for over 30 years, grandfathered from Golds Gym. This location wasnt the newest or best lit gym Ive ever been to but it grew on me and got the job done. I dont require much pampering. Not to mention it was extremely close to the house. Its been my home away from home for the last 15 years and Ill miss the people and the convenience. including the GM Jeff who ran a tight ship and was working hard to update the old equipment and add a lot of new features. CLOSE! THIS! PLACE! DOWN! Nothing works! Its repulsive and dirty. I wish I was exaggerating, read the comments below mine. The machines are always broken, the floors have holes, the gym itself is dull and gloomy, not to mention the numerous times Ive seen cockroaches in the sauna/ pool area. Ive complained and complained. No solution. They will rob you out of 30 dollars. You might as well pay the same price and go to LA. or even cheaper and go to fitness connection... which is super clean and new btw.

Great customer service and very personable feel. The kids area at the S.Mason location is extremely nice. Theres also a swimming pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Very easy access and theres also a basketball court. I really like this location. The only thing Id change is the fact that teenagers 13 and up cant hang out in the play area. Thats something Id change ASAP. The pricing could also be better. Unfortunately I had to pay for each child that was to attend the play area separately. The pricing was very unappealing. Other than that...the service was excellent and the pool area and sauna were open.All American Dollars Lives Matter

Absolutely disappointed with this 24 hour fitness.The customer service is god awful, the manager (older black gentleman with a bald spot) is extremely RUDE and has no people skills whatsoever. I was looking for a new gym to join and I considered checking this location out but after my experience, they couldn’t even pay me to come workout here.We came in to sign up for a free pass to try the gym out, we got in fine and started to workout on the treadmills, he then comes up to us and tells us weve had a previous free pass before and if he ever saw us again he would charge us? He didnt ask us how we were doing, didnt apologize for interrupting our workout..nothing.Save your money and take your business elsewhere.

Excellent gym for me. Its convenient, friendly and they do a good job of keeping the equipment maintained. They keep the place clean. Its never to crowded in the mornings. I always get a good workout. They do a pretty good job of repairing broken equipment in a timely manner.

Im at a loss. This gym makes about $40 per person yet they can invest a little money into repairs on the cardio equipment. There are ALWAYS the same machines down that cant be properly fixed. I work hard for my money to invest into your establishment, least you can do is make the proper repairs when necessary. IF YOU CANT FIX IT, BUY ANOTHER ONE!Everything else is pretty good, hints the extra star

Someone broke in to 10 cars this morning between 6am and 7am. That means they were out there busting customers windows for a good amount of time. This place needs better lighting and someone to walk around outside. Its unsafe if you workout before sunrise.

Can you explain why or under what criteria is that all clubs are closed today May 18 when it is assumed that today is the date when other clubs such as dynamic fitness, anytime fitness, life time fitness, LA fitness and but they opened today with their respective precautionary measures but they opened and you do not stop charging the monthly fee the first thing I will do when they open will be to cancel my membership because what is the reason for not opening what is the pretext if the other gym did it because you no and above all they dont even have the attention to give reopening dates

I joined this Gym to be able to work out Any Time of the day, hence the name 24 Hr Fitness. Next month, I need to be able to go to the Gym at 3 in the morning due to a work schedule. Well, now the hours have changed to open at 4:00 AM. I asked the manager who said that only a few people who have been going to the gym earlier that 4 can go to another nearby location that is open 24 hours. He then asked me to log in to see my history and then snickered and said I would have to pay extra to go to the other location because I had not been going to the Gym earlier than 4 in the past. What BS. When I signed up I was told I would have 24 hour access to this gym and I was also misled about a Veterans Discount. I am paying the same as their normal membership. When my contract is up, I am leaving this Gym and I am spreading the word. Find another 24 hour gym if you want to avoid the shenanigans.

Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated at this facility. The hothead who runs the place “Jeff” is one of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered in a gym atmosphere. He reminds me of one of those coaches that screams at little kids for not boxing out for a rebound. Terrible staff and I’m so disappointed in the lack of customer service at this place. Oh and to top it off they aren’t even 24 hours. They are only open 20 hours a day yet they still have the name 24 hour fitness. Very misleading and once again terrible management on all levels. Jeff you’re on foul git.

Facility could use some improvements as far as locker rooms, cleaning the sauna and steam room floors, and making sure the equipment works. Other than that its a good gym. Ive never actually been greeted by an employee or talked to one at all at this location so as far as the customer service Im not sure, but then again Im there to workout.

I decided to check out this facility. The customer service is great here. I didn’t have trouble finding a parking spot. They even have a kids center here too which is great. They also have decent machines. The facility is outdated though and the locker room felt dirty. Other than that this place gets the job done.

They’ve clearly changed management and it shows. I came here recently and equipment was clean, some of it upgraded, facility was clean, and they have been working on upgrading the basketball court as well. Probably one of the better 24 Hr. fitnesses in Katy.Even better than the Bella Terra Supersport. Only con is the lack of sauna, steam room, old equipment (however it is maintained well) and olympic lift platforms.

Decent place. I love that they allow their members to use the back room because I know some gyms are strict about only letting classes go back there. My only issue with this place is the roaches. I’ve seen roaches in the sauna/pool area numerous times. Probably the only reason I’d consider switching to another gym. I’ve personally gone to cleaner gyms for better deals. I feel like if I’m paying 32 a month there shouldn’t be any critters crawling in my space

I first visited the facility on Mason Rd about a month ago and found the staff to be welcoming and friendly. I was given a tour by Wendy who was outgoing, knowledgeable and professional. I had the opportunity to meet Hiram the assistant manager and he also was professional and very helpful in answering all the questions that I had about 24 Hour Fitness. I am new to Katy and to Texas and I was very impressed with both Hiram and Wendys welcoming spirit.I have a degree in Physical Education and have worked at a fitness club in the past. Once I was able to come in for my fitness assessment and actually use the machines, weights and pool I was very impressed overall with 24 Hour Fitness. Mahaw (the young lady that did my assessment) was very friendly and professional. The facility was clean, the entire staff was helpful and I am very excited about being a member there. Each individual took their job seriously and offered information that was both factual and appropriate to my personal fitness goals.

Night/early AM attendant really cares about the clients. Gym is very clean. Layout is easy to navigate. Some equipment could use a little attention from repair staff.

I love this 24 Hour Fitness location! The front desk staff is phenomenal. Kyana, Alexis, and Naheed are always welcoming me by name and always have smiles on their faces. They make my and a lot of other peoples gym experience awesome!. The facility is clean and a little bit older, but the staff gives it character.

Had a call from the GM about a job interview a while back and had a date to come in. So, this locationwas about 50 minute drive. And i was on my way there about 45 mins. into my drive there and got called by the fitness manager that the interview was cancelled. Then had to drive another 45 mins. back home. After that, I never got a call for the rescheduled interview nor job as I was told. That management wasted my gas and time. I dont know why they did that. Just dont go here.

Poorly managed, very bad gym. The basketball court is poorly maintained. There are holes in the ground and the floor is slippery.Update: They fixed the hole in the ground and have kept the courts clean the last couple of months. Good on them. They also updated a small amount of the equipment. Still lots of updating to do.

Its a gym. It has weights. Price is probably the best in the area. Building may be a little old and torn but it makes it feel more like a gym and less like a day spa. You can tell people take lifting seriously here. I would say some of the equipment could use some maintenance but the majority was good to go.

This gym is near my place. So it’s perfect with my schedule. The equipment do need to be maintainence kinda slow sometimes. Hence the 4star but other then that. I’m a regular. I like this location

The trainers are great, and its a great place to do a workout without all the (unnecessary for me) extra bells and whistles Lifetime offers at a fraction of the Lifetime price.

I call this the squeaky gym. It is squeaky clean but the machines are squeaky because they are not maintained. I feel like I need to bring a can of WD-40 with me. Many of their weight machines are in desperate need of a tune up.

Around last Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think the staff members would say racially divisive comments towards me as I walked in and out of the gym. I promise I am not going crazy or making it up. It made me really unhappy and I confronted several of the staff members about it. I plan to leave as soon as my one-year membership expires. One of the staff members who did that is still working there.

Good! Not very crowded, most of the time you can have instant access to machine or weights, worst case will have to swap one or two exercises, machines working, all kind of weights available, though bars and rest of SS need cleaning. Quite often paper towels are missing.

They have a large selection of equipment and keep it clean and working right. They also have a nice basketball court. The employees always greet you with a smile.

For a gym it has an adequate assortment of equipment you wont be completely disappointed here, however a face-lift or touch up is needed. No TRX station some products are damaged while others just look like they have been exhausted and should be replaced. For those who play basketball, the system to play there is a zoo! The staff there should keep an employee present during busy hours to help organize and keep games going.

The nice thing about this gym is that it’s typically empty and you have free roam. Unfortunately the reason it is empty is because it’s unkept and has no appreciation for their customers. Locker rooms are closed midday at unposted and varied times for cleaning, sections of the facility are always closed, and equipment is scattered around the gym but they have no problem charging full price for partial access.

Such a friendly staff, especially Alexis. She was so friendly!!! Also a great, positive workout environment. Loved it.

Very bad customer service, over 40 minutes waiting to be taken care of and seeing that I was ignored by Mr Whitney I decided to retire. I recommend evaluating well the staff they hire. I do not recommend this place at all.

I live nearby but drive to Bella Terra because this gym is so outdated and smells dirty all the time, and it IS Dirty! The equipment is always broken. Half of all of the treadmills never work and have parts broken off of them to where if they do work, they are stuck where theyre at and you cant control it. Other than that, it could be nice but its just not at all.

This gym has gone down hill tremendously. The staff says the company does not want to spend money to fix things. Yet we pay for run down broken equipment. I pulled my back as a judoka and needed the hot tub. Theres nothing like the expectation of hot soothing water only to walk into a Luke warm broken hot tub, then the stream room wasnt working really? Im wondering if this really deserves 2 stars.

This is BEYOND ridiculous just kicked out of the gym for working out with my friends. The other day staff member John Silvernail harassed us by telling us if we continue working out together they would cancel our membership. We thought that couldnt be serious after all 24 hour constantly asks you to invite friends to try it out. THEN THE HARASSMENT continued today when the same staff member came up to us in the middle of our work out to asks us to leave and let us know they will be terminating our memberships because WE ARE WORKiNG OUT TOGETHER. Mind you we were minding our own business and not disrupting or bothering anyone. When we questioned the staff member why he came up to us and not approached any of the other couples or group working out together he simply said This is different. He is at a completely different fitness level than yall are. Therefore indicating that he singled us out and only approached us based off of our looks and physical appearance. John continued on saying He is wearing a stop watch. Apparently now you cant wear stop watches to the gym. Regardless of our fitness levels we each were working out together in rotation. It would be different if he wasnt working out with us and he was solely watching us and telling us what to do. My friend is educated in fitness because its his passion, why should we be punished for that? This discrimination not only makes this specific location look terrible but the entire company.

Older version of the club and not really up to the new standards. They have a problem keeping some of the equipment running. I generally go to the new super club at the Shops at Bella Terra where things are newer and better maintained.

Desk staff is rude and disrespectful. Absolutely unprofessional and they dont even care or try to help. Branch manager is worse: I asked him a question and he just said desk staff will help me, and left the facility. Asked the same question to desk staff and they said the only person that could help me was the manager. So he basically lied to my face and left.

Great gym, very nice staff, good equipment, pool and spa. Nice selection of well priced supplements.

Definitely my favorite 24 hour fitness. There is a highly positive atmosphere in the gym which helps me continue to reach my health goals and stay consistent. Ever time im there the staff is cleaning, interacting with people and are always positive. Even the GM Jeff always makes it a point to shake my hand and make sure we are doing good, is a plus in my book. I dont feel like im just another account #. I highly recommend this gym!!

Been a member for over a year. They have all the weights, machines and cardio you could want. Basketball and swimming pool also.

The equipment was reasonable, quite busy but reasonable. The front desk and trainers were horrible. I went in with a guest pass and was harassed for almost fifteeen minutes. When I said, I would consider joining but could not today though my wife is currently a member the trainer abruptly said, ‘ well, you’ll have to pay $20 for being here today’. He went on to state he was about to leave for the day and I had to make a decision immedialry. He was immensely rude. Had I been informed, it would cost $20 to use the facilities for the day I would have gladly paid it and get on with my life but the unprofessional and crude treatment was horrible. Will never join 24hrs Fitness if I have any possible choice!

Love this gym ... Sometime you get ppl who like to workout in packs and hog machinery but the gym itself is in good condition.

Unprofessional staff and they don’t know what they are talking about. The reason I signed up for 24 was because I was able to come as a guest and the full experience LAST YEAR. Then when I try to bring a guest they tell me that you’re not allowed and it’s been this way since 2012....Not professional at all. Honestly it’s ridiculous that you can’t bring a guest who hasn’t come before to try the gym. You just lost another member ✌🏽

I have always liked 24 but they really need an update and a better cleaning crew. Same equipment since they moved into this location in 2004 and it shows.

I enjoy working out here. The equipment is nice enough, and the eye candy is splendid.

My first negative review... the equipment is old and run down. Showers are nasty, curtains shredded to pieces. The general manager JEFF was very rude to my wife. Left this location and upgraded to supersport in bella terra and firethorne. It was definitely worth the money spent! 24 hr Fitness is great, but not this location and NOT this GM.

Came in a while back to look at memberships for my wife and I and wasnt satisfied. Everything seemed out of date and the employees didnt seem very helpful.

This gym has holes in the floor and screws and nails in it?? This gym needs to be updated badly and the manager is the most rude I’ve ever dealt with. I asked why the floor had holes in it and he wouldn’t give his name or when it would be repaired, I asked whom his boss was so I could send an email and ask them when repairs would be made, and he said to call the 1800 number. Save your money guys Bc this gym hasn’t been upkept since the late 1990s

Ive been with a 24 hour fitness member for a long time and this is the first time Ive seen a facility where the equipment are not being taken care of and there is a lot of bad equipment, the basketball gym is dirty all the time, the AC unit or Heater are not been used accordingly to the season or the weather outside.Please address the situation so We as a customer can feel like we are being taken care of.

Horrible experience. Have tried several times to workout here, but they change their story and try to charge more money. The front desk has on several occasions had attitude issues and are very disrespectful to customers. One personal trainer even had a woman faint and hit her head on a corner because the trainer didnt follow the proper steps and precautions. Would not recommend.

I must say Shamarah the manager has this facility very clean. I LOVE THAT!! THE only problem I have is with staff in daycare. I wish they engaged more with the kids instead of being on there cell phones or just sitting around. The kids wouldnt be bored & it would be fun for them while parents work out. I come to relieve stress not to be stressed out.After the girls well Ray said my son was bitting and doing a choke hold. What a joke!!The GM Shamarah herself looked on camera & seen nothing!!! Ray was mad because I told GM that they just stand around and do nothing. They should engage mode with the kids!! Shamarah is a poor General mgr!!

This 24 hour fitness provides the basics of a fitness club, but it is not the nicest location. Many of the treadmills do not work or are faulty.

The name should be changed to “Only 20 Hours Fitness”

Its a sport 24 so it has all the pool and sauna and basketball. The biggest issue is the shower curtains have mold. Very bad. Needs to be replaced or cleaned.

Paola is the best reason to go to 24 Hour fitness. She is an amazing instructor who always challenges me, yet makes me laugh and have fun in class at the same time.

The dirtiest gym I have ever been in and the steam room and sauna is a joke. The steam room smells like urine constantly and is never working every other 24 in Katy is great except this one. It’s like they don’t clean or care at all. Stuff is broken or smells horrible. They should sell it back to corporate

When manager is too busy playing on his phone and not greet customers, that says something about how 24 hour fitness runs their company.Also 85% of cardio machines broken, paying 40 bucks a month for broken equipment.

The old 24 Hour Fitness/World Gym at Mason Road and Kingsland was a phenomenal gym and it is still a shame they closed it down to open this piece of garbage.Let me start with the layout-there is more room between the machines than there is between the free weights which makes no sense. A machine has a fixed range of motion whereas a free weight can roll and cause accidents the spacing should definitely have been greater around the free weights. You cannot even pull out the lower stop bars on the power rack in the back corner if someone is using the squat rack next to it because of the lack of space. Dumbbell wise they go up to 125 lb here which is more than either Bella Terra or Fry Road but still lower than the old location at Kingsland. Leg equipment is sparse and you usually will have to wait your turn if you plan on working out the lower body.I find that this location is too hot year round and usually have to leave before finishing my workout because I am about to die of a heat stroke. When not crowded there is a decent amount of equipment but at prime time this place gets packed, although it is less crowded since the Bella Terra location opened.Maintenance at this location is absolutely nonexistent. The mens locker room used to have four hand dryers-two at chest level for drying hands after washing them and two around 7 feet high for drying your head or upper body if you forgot to bring a towel. When one of the chest level driers broke a couple years ago they did not bother to fix it they just removed it and re-tiled the wall to hide the fact that it ever existed. A few months ago the second chest level drier broke and has sat there broken with an out of service sign on it ever since, for what would be a few minutes of a job to replace it. This means that if you need to dry your hands you have to hold them up over your head to try drying them on the 7 foot high dryers, or not wash your hands at all after using the restroom and go out and touch all the equipment spreading germs. One of the two Smith machines has been in need of lube or broken for over 2 years and has way too much friction whenever you try to use it, they seem to have no intention of ever fixing it.

This place is TRASH and should be shut down. Even if its free ill think twice about going to this place.

Just your average Joe gym with no real frills. It has basketball court & small lap pool along with weights, cardio and classes.

Way too crowded, equipment looks like it hasnt been updated since the 90s. It also smells like feet, and the mens locker smells foul.

Its one of my transition locations in between the Fry Road and Bella Terra locations that are also nearby if my memory serves me correctly it used to be an HEB store before they cross diagonal from this building at the Southeast Corner of Mason and Highland Knolls Rd . across from Randalls.

Pushy sales, dont want to let you leave without a purchase of a 35 year contract and place isnt clean. Its worth it to pay more for a cleaner place.
