Love this place. We have been going hear for years. We brought our SUV in one time to do what we thought was going to cost us $3k and left the vehicle and found out the next day it wasnt what we thought and it would only cost $285. Very honest and have recommended them to all my friends and family. Great work, and very reasonable. They are only open during the week so we tend to drop our vehicles off in the night drop and pick up when done.

I would never recommend this place to anyone!Booked an appointment a week ahead of time for today. The guy even tells me to come early before they open so they will get me in quicker. I drive 20 minutes to the place for the guy to tell me it wont even be looked at until 4 hours later and it wasnt a waiting service?? Why not tell me it was drop off only when Im making an appointment? Such an odd place!. If I could drop off then I wouldnt have made an appointment a week in advance. If they are busy and thats how they operate, the guy on the phone should have specified since that is a weird policy that Ive never heard a mechanic have. He made up some excuse that German cars take awhile to diagnose and they have to special order the parts sometimes. Ive never had it take 4+ hours for a diagnosis. Unreal!

I went to Smiths Auto Repair after the dealership diagnosed my truck with needing a new engine that would have cost me $10k. I went to Smiths for a second opinion, they did a thorough check of my truck and did not find what the dealership found. Chris and Michael at Smiths did give me advise as to what they felt was wrong and they were absolutely correct. My truck is now running good as new. Ever find yourself sitting in the middle of the road, staring at your tire that just popped off and landed perfectly propped up against the railing across the street? How about trying to quickly and frantically figure out what to do and who to call as cars fly around your car that you cant move because, well, youre missing a whole wheel assembly! Also, youre in a different city, visiting, and only trust your mechanic back home. How lucky was I to find these guys?! Michael got me all patched up and back on the road faster than I could have ever hoped, and for a great price! These guys are amazing and really did take care of me, especially after a bummer of a situation like this. I chose Smiths Auto, and I have been going there since the Spring of 2020. I would first like to say that EVERYONE, Brian, Chris, and Michael has always been courteous, respectful, and very knowledgeable about what I needed to have done. No bait and switch or outrageous prices. I always went in the morning when they opened up. My problem was handle quickly, and I was back on the road within a short period of time. I didn’t actually get to use their service (luckily for me) but I took my wife’s van in thinking I needed some repairs and after getting it diagnosed by one of the mechanics turns out I just needed 2 tires to stop my steering wheel from shaking. Had issue with oil leak in my van that resulted in a big issue. I called Smith’s after getting multiple suggestions via Facebook. It was Thursday afternoon that I called and made an appointment for Friday morning. Michael was super helpful and straightforward with me. When I described the issue, he seemed confident what it could be and made no promises but said he would definitely look at it but may not get it done same day. I did say with multiple kiddos and various doctors appointments, the sooner the better would help us out. I dropped it off and my wife drove me home. Low and behold, not only did they look at it, they got it fixed at a super reasonable price. I was stranded without a car and Michael personally came and picked me up! I was impressed with their work and how they stayed on top of getting our family van back on the road! Yes they are busy and yes there is a lot of work but when they do good work and an affordable price, it’s natural they need time to look at, order parts and fix your vehicle. I hope I don’t have any issues with my vehicles but if I do, I know where I can take it! Thank you Michael and everyone at Smith’s!

Weve used Smiths a couple times over the last couple years and been very satisfied. My wifes Kia Soul had a couple different electrical issues I did some research on but didnt really feel comfortable tackling myself, both times they did the work the issue has been one and doned. Honest, able, and dependable, cant recommend them enough. Only mechanic/shop around the Katy area I trust.

Needed a 5 minute job that job that just requires the right tool. Didnt even need to touch the car, I had the part in hand that needed work. Was willing to pay any reasonable labor rate. Refused to even bother to try to do the 5 minute job in less than 3 days.

Place is always busy. Great prices and good customer service. I love that they put after market items on your vehicle when you purchase them from a retailer. Any issues that aren’t fixed the first time, are fixed by trying to resolve that issue for free. Amazing shop that has had 5 stars for the 8 years I have been in Katy. The alignment for your car is $60, that’s $30+ cheaper then anywhere else! Highly recommend you give these place a chance!

I usually bring my vehicle to the dealer since it is under warranty but it is starting to phase out of warranty and while I like the dealer I bring it to, its a bit of a hike. I have been looking for a shop closer to home that I can trust and after doing a bit of research came across Smiths. It had been established for over a decade and kept busy which is usually a good indicator of doing good work. Customer retention seems very high.I had some vibration at the brake pedal when using it at 65mph or higher. They quickly diagnosed this as a rotor issue and resurfaced both on the axle. I also got an alignment too as I have never had one. Price seemed fairly economical although thats not my primary concern or reason for going there. Taken it for a few drives and seems resolved.While it was my first visit, theyve earned my trust so far for future work.

Best Customer Service and Quality Work. Hassle Free, walked in prompt service, car was finished quick. Hard to find great service and great prices all in one. Highly Recommended.

Before I got in the door I had a good vibe about Smiths Auto..Chris in the front was very polite and helpful..I was having ac problems and they checked it out and found out it needed to be look out further cause it probably was electrical since it was full of freon and the fuses were good..no charge that day so I took it back Monday they found the problem a relay switch. .it wasnt that expensive and I always had good service from all I dealt with and Brain the owner was the best and told me if I had any issues with ac to make sure I give him a call and thats what I plan to do if I need anything else done to my car..Ive recommended them to some friends and whoever else is looking for a good and honest mechanic Smiths Automotive is the place to call!

Brought my Ford F150 in for 2 items, they fixed my vibration in the steering wheel which was caused by my warped rotors, they diagnosed my transmission issue and referred me to Garys Transmission on Franz Rd. They even brought my car over there first thing in the morning so I didnt have to (very nice touch). Paid by phone for rotor repair and Garys did an amazing job as well fixing my transmission in about a day and a half. Very pleased with both shops and will use and recommend them to anyone who asks. Owning a Suzuki can be dreadful thing when you live in Katy. Both Houston dealerships are 50 miles away. After numerous rip offs from a so called Christian auto mechanic chain, I tried Smiths. The problem was my vehicle stability light and emergency brake light kept flashing. I tried the other place, and spent additional $50.00 on top of the warranty, for a diagnostic check up. Pulling at of the shop and lights came right back on at Fry and Clay. Brought the SUV to Smiths and got a call the next day that I had no brake fluid! So the other place charged me for a full diagnostic check and did not check fluids.Smiths not only found the problem, but they DID NOT EVEN CHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING! I mean really, I did not believe there where mechanics like that left. Needless to say, had my other car there two weeks later for brand new brakes. They have a lifelong customer. Amazing customer service and they are honest.

I took my car to Smiths Auto Repair for an overall inspection for repair, fluids change, and a replacement of all four struts. Brian Smith and his team had been referred to me by my girlfriends family who claim they have been using him for many years.I found that Brian was very personable and seems very honest. My car drives 100% smoother than before and the price that I paid was $200 - $500 less than other shops quoted me. He backed his work up with a one year, 12,000 mile warranty and stressed that if I had any problem with the work, to call him and bring my car.I had a great experience and I will use his business again.

Highly recommend this place! My ac was blowing hot, they said they’d do free diagnostics and call me before they had to do anything that would cost. They found the problem and explained everything to me. Were very honest and said if they misdiagnosed then they wouldn’t charge me. My car was ready the next day. Prices were reasonable and they were very friendly.

Called a few places for qutoes for evaporator replacement. Saw them on nextdoor as one of the top recommended so called for a quote. Gave the best price and after reading reviews decided to go here. Turned out great. Got the job done in one day. did have a loose wire issue that they took care of right away. And no problem after. Will go back if I have other repairs to get done.

One of the best auto repair shops I have been into before. I just heard of them 1 month ago when my 2013 ford fusion started misfiring, I took it to the dealership who charged me $120 because I didnt buy their extended warranty, they called me later to tell me that I need to change a whole fuel line and few other things for $1300, I was about to give them the green light before changing my mind after calling a mechanic friend of mine who recommended this place, Smiths auto repair, to me. I took the car to them and with a friendly faces and smiles they welcomed me and gave appointment for the next day, and they said that they need to check and most likely it would be just a spark plug or coil, anyway next day these guys did the diagnosis for free to find that a small debrie caused the clog and the car was up and running again with no single dollar, next week I drove the car to Alabama in a road trip and back to katy with no issues, I was to pay the dealership $1300 for nothing and these guys saved my money.They are honest, they will do anything to help you and fix your ride and they wont trick you to pay big bucks for nothing. I would give them even more than 5 if possible.

This is the most honest mechanic shop I have ever dealt with, they only charged me $30.00 for something another shop was charging me $200.00. So you make your own conclusion. They definitely earned a long term customer.

Fantastic people amd ownership. Received several quotes for necessary work around the 350 mark, and several shops stating additional necessary repairs ranging all the way up to 1100. These guys checked my vehicle top to bottom and had my vehicle ready in a day for 200. Wont ever use anyone again, no price gouging or unnecessary upsale attempts. Just good people and good work!

I highly recommend Smith Auto. I took my truck to them for a 2nd opinion I got from a franchise mechanic. Glad I did! They were honest with me and told me the issues that I had where the other place wanted me to replace items that were not necessary. They didn’t start the repairs until they gave me prices on the work that needed to be done and once I gave them the ok to do it they got right on it. They were hundreds cheaper in price than other shops I got qoutes from. They are a very busy shop, and now I see why. There customer service, prices and honesty were beyond my expectation!
