UPDATE: after asking for a manager, i was on the phone with the nicest manager possible. she took her time to listen to what happened and did everything to help. i even told her i hate being that customer, but she was so understanding and helpful. rating is definitely raised thanks to her quick and kind call back to us!I wish to god i could give this place and the hairdresser, elizabeth, negative stars. my partner went in for a simple fade cut and a bleach with color. not only did she NOT give him an even fade, but she bleached his hair for longer than needed, which he even stated to her but she dismissed him to do another customers hair, but the coloring process was unfinished AND LEFT CHEMICAL BURNS. he came in asking for an ash blonde and he left with orange hair. the pictures are after using a toner, and that was only halfway to ash blonde. so you can imagine the orange, bleached unfinished hair he left with. more importantly, she left the bleach on for too long and gave him chemical burns!! she was completely unprofessional and clearly lacks the knowledge on how to safely bleach hair. after re-dying his hair, you can see all the chemical burns on his head. never, EVER let elizabeth here do your hair at this place.

C.J is a great stylist. I went on a Monday and while I was there every customer left the salon very pleased.

I cant speak to anyone else BUT Jessica is phenomenal. I came in with zero ideas but knew I needed my hair styled for an interview tomorrow. Jessica has taken such wonderful care with me and my hair. I loved how gently but thoroughly she washed and styled my hair. Oh and I love the style! My biggest problem is I have zero creativity so I never know what styles to do but she handled it without any problems.I definitely recommend you going to her.Also the rest of the staff were pleasant and the building is clean and well lit. They seemed to have space available for walk ins & the regular folks I heard them talking to (I was eavesdropping) really seemed to enjoy being here with them.

I went to this salon for the first time and was greeted by Eli. She was very professional. She asked how I wanted my hair cut. I showed her a picture on my phone and she cut it just the same as the picture. I left there happy and will be going back to see her. Thank you Eli so very much. You did a awesome job

Eli was awesome! I showed her the color I wanted and she put her own spin on it and it came out WAY better than I could have imagined. She was so helpful with answering some queations I had and recommending products that would help. Will definitely be back when it is time for a touch up

I received a haircut yesterday at this location. The haircut maybe took 15 minutes. There was no blending, thinning of the hair. I was left with uneven hair, ugly noticeable layers, clearly no effort . Described as looking like a mushroom. Did not blow dry hair for me to be able to see what it looked like dry. I wish I never tipped because this haircut was bad.... I ended up going to a different salon to get it fixed. The stylist described the haircut looked like the previous stylist Tried to give layers on one side and then gave up on the other side. I will NEVER go here again nor will I recommend this place to anyone.

They do not know how to cut hair!! I do not recommend this place. They messed up my hair and didn’t cut it the way I asked for.

As cheesy as this may sound; this place is fantastic. Came in to get a hair cut and these folks really made sure to work with me to get the kind of hair I wanted. I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they got right to it. Only cost me $15 in the end, but I gave a little extra just because they did such a good job. I highly recommend this place for anyone needing to get a hair cut or just styled in general.

All she did was basically wet my hair, and trim. When I wanted a certain cut. Not worth it.

This has been my local hair salon for the past 5 years I have always been satisfied but yesterday I came in for a hair cut nothing was said about a mask until I was half way threw my hair cut and another employee said something then the lady cutting my hair had the courage to tell me I needed a mask. I wasnt rude or argumentative but I simply said I thought the cdc said if you have been vaccinated you dont have to wear a mask. Her entire mood changed and she finished my hair cut in a few minutes I get home and see that my bangs are un even, around my ears are not trimmed all the way and a chunk is missing out of my neck line. Im confused so do we not listen to the cdc anymore??? This was not worth $21

They were very quick and friendly. I had tried to go to a different buisness to get my hair cut and they were extremely rude, and im so glad they were because that caused me to go in to Fantastic Sams. Eli was my stylist and she was very through and did EXACTLY what i wanted. I havent cut my hair in probably 4 years and im so glad this experience was so great! Thank you Eli! I will definitely be back!

Walk in for all services, oh sure with a 3 hour wait. Need a better to manage people who drive to their business.

JD(from State Ave) was amazing, knowledgeable, and had me in and out and got my hair super soft and straight as I am natural. She even suggested a trim which I did get for a nice clean look and to keep my hair growing long and healthy.

I honestly don’t know how they have 4 stars. I went to get my 2 year olds haircut & the lady (CJ) messed his hair up. His hair is short on one side & long on the opposite side. All around his hair is unevenly cut. She pushed his hairline way back. His sideburns are not even cut the same way. I regret taking him there & will never go back.

I have gone to Mack for several years now, even following him as she had moved salons. He is extremely versed in techniques and what to do to get the hair to look right.It amazes me how he can perm and colour my hair in the same day, and makes it feel better than when I walk through the door, I have never had anyone do it prior.I cannot say enough good about him.

My 4 years old wen there today to get her hair cut and he bangs are absolutely horrible. They missed pieces of the bangs and can just take one look at my daughter and see that her hair is messed up. It’s really sad hair stylist can’t take their time to make sure everything looks good before walking out the store. Instead they rush and allow people to walk out with their hair messed up.

I love how I look and feel after getting my hair fixed here. My hairdresser is Shannon but other staff are great too. I have been coming here for many years and never had a bad experience. The right look, the right price, the right hair service. I love this place with nice, friendly people.

This shop is so accommodating. My whole family goes here and the service is 100! Elle, is my stylist cut, set or blow out. She can do it all but JJ has worked wonders on me too, nothing stumps her. Michelle hooked up my brows and Amanda did a great set. So many options. Thanks

I went to another place to get my hair cut (won’t mention the name). I drove down the road to Fantastic Sams and let me tell you, I was sat down and in less than 15 minutes I walked out looking 10 times better than the disaster I entered in with. I highly recommend.

Horrible experience! Went in for a trim, didnt have to wait long but when it was my turn a man with a green shirt and overalls said he was going to cut my hair. Thought a maintenance man was about to cut it. He spent 5 minutes telling me why people get sick. I didnt get a shampoo like it says on the website. He didnt even wet my hair before starting to section it (which I have frizzy curly hair and its most definitely necessary). While cutting my hair he proceeded to tell me about his time in the services in Germany where he met his first real boyfriend. Something I didnt care to hear. Then he was on his knees trying to cut my hair straight. My hair is so uneven, its horrible. Now I have to pay someone again to fix it. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I had the most informative hair cut ever. Donna, the manager, cut my hair and told me about why she was cutting my hair a certain way due to the natural movement and placement of it. Even though the physical building itself could use some attention, the people were very friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

I got my eyebrows waxed 3 years ago and since then my right eyebrow itches like crazy and has become dry and flaky. Last year I went and got my haircut and it was terrible. The lady Andrea had her kids running around the shop and at one point she stopped doing my hair to change one of her kids poopy diaper. Not once did she talk to me about my hair and what I could do to get it healthyinstead she talked about her boyfriend and how she had to wait to celebrate Valentines Day that weekend because she had to work. The same one who did my hair did my sisters a couple of weeks ago and it was terrible. It looked nothing like the picture and one of her coworkers told her that. I wouldnt recommend and if I did I would recommend JJ.

I had just left the Fantasric Sams on 75th & Quivira after being treated so poorly I just left after waiting 40 minutes with being the only one waiting and 2 stylists not cutting hair but visiting with each other about what they were having for lunch. Went to the Fantastic Sams on State Ave in KCKs, my old neighborhood. Met Theresa. Had a great greeting, great hair cut and treated like a customer should be treated. Ill be going back to the old neighborhood and seeing Theresa. She saved my opinion of Fantastic Sams salons.

Have gone to fantastic sams for 9 years. There are good hairdressers and bad hairdressers. Dont rate all hairdressers in one category. Alot of people need certain styles and they have good hairdressers for that person. Donna is my hairdresser and she never made a mistake! Ive seen a lot of sylist come and go there. Find one that cuts your hair the way you like it! And tip well when they do a good job! That is an indicator of how much you like your hair cut!!

The man that colored my hair left color globs behind my ears. He also chared me for a hair mask i never received!!!! He was to interested in socializing with his coworkers!!!!

The manager on State Ave in KCK cuts my teenage sons hair and shes fantastic! Plus, everyone is very friendly and professional.

Real hit and miss with the stylists here. Some of em can cut, while most of them cant even do a basic fade. Since they are pretty busy, they rush as well. I went back too many times before I learned my lesson. Unless you know a stylist there, I would not recommend going in.

I go there weekly, I love all the stylist. I always walk out satisfied!
