Kara is organized, professional, and provides prompt responses. During the winter she was even kind enough to lower rental prices, making sure everyone knew when they would be raised again. Most places to rent from in the area are double her prices, so I was so pleased to have found it. The decor and tidiness of the studio was above and beyond what I was expecting. My clients were incredibly pleased. I would definitely rent from her over and over again.

Kara of KCM Studios is a dream. When we inquired with many photographers for our intimate destination wedding she was the ONE who picked up the phone, took a moment to connect with me, and to talk about my vision and needs. After talking and covering the preliminary information, we took her offer for a complimentary engagement session to get to know her more and see her in action. The experience was unlike any other - I actually enjoyed it AND so did my fiancé (now husband)!!! Rather than posing us, she would ask us to do or say something that would cause us to react in a way that was photo gold. We were smiling, laughing and loving on each other the whole time. When we got the images back (which was like a day later), that was the icing on the cake that sealed the deal for us. We looked as happy and in love in our images as we actually felt. I feel as though that is so hard and not the norm with most photographers; she has a true talent and skill. Then, leading up to our wedding day, we, like everyone, ran into some hiccups. Kara was there wading through the water with us. She put my mind at ease knowing that regardless of what the circumstance on the day, she would be there to make it look stunning through the camera and in the photos that will live on beyond the day! Our wedding photos are the PERFECT blend of timeless yet vintage-feeling, artistic yet unique, and editorial yet perfectly posed. We are obsessed with our wedding photos and will treasure them so dearly for the rest of our lives. We will be hiring her for all our future photo needs, no doubt. I can not even begin to explain how obsessed I am with KCM Studios.I have been renting her studio space regularly since November of this past year (2018), and I have yet to have a single complaint.This studio space is kept clean, well organized, and don’t even get me started on the AMAZING rental rates. As a photographer still very early off in my journey, this has offered me such a beautiful place to work, at such an amazing price. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to shoot there.Every single client I have had in the studio has been amazed by her keen eye for design as well. Everything is so modern, and tasteful. Definitely uniquely stunning. I have messaged the owner multiple times before with questions, and she was always been prompt and polite. Making my experiences there just that much more enjoyable. This review is WAY overdue... Im so sorry, Kara! My wife and I had the privilege of teaming up with Kara as the lead photographer for our wedding and she was amazing to work with from start to finish. She made the entire experience so fun and the least stressful it could possibly be. We also booked an engagement photo shoot with her (HIGHLY recommend doing this, by the way!) and I had no idea it was going to be as fun as it turned out to be! AND, we are so thankful we did it because we love the photos as much as we love the ones from our wedding - which were INCREDIBLE! We also purchased a wedding photo album from her and due to a delay in manufacturing (which was beyond her control), she even went above and beyond and gave us a gift to apologize for something that wasnt even her fault! Kara is just simply amazing at what she does; you can tell she truly cares about her couples and has a deep passion for her work. We cannot say enough good things about Kara and please, if youre deciding between photographers, GO WITH KARA!

Kara is absolutely amazing! I could not have asked for a more wonderful experience with a photographer on my wedding day. She is personable, down to earth, friendly, and has a good sense of humor. She didnt just get the most beautiful photos, but also truly captured those she was photographing. During the experience, Kara had my now husband and I mention funny things to one another to get us to react honestly and it made the photos turn out beautifully real. It was a pleasantly unique experience and I felt like one of my old girlfriends was photographing my wedding. She was so easy to get along with and was really professional as well. She got the photos edited and ready for us quickly. The next event where I choose to have a photographer, I wont even search, Ill just message Kara.

Incredibly disappointed with what was to be a great photo session at KCM Studios. Last month our photographer booked an hour time slot at this studio for our daughters six month photos. We absolutely loved the space and were very excited to have her photo shoot there!Unfortunately, today an email was sent from the studio stating that they would be raising their rates as of 3/1 (our session was for a week later) and would not be honoring the appointment already booked. Not only that, but now you cant rent by the hour, so we would have to pay for an additional hour that we dont need. AND on top of that, they wont refund the money weve already paid to reserve our time slot. Thats theft.Its bad business to back out on a booking, especially one that has already been confirmed and paid. And to say “no refunds are permitted for any reason” even when its the studios fault we no longer need the booking? WOW. Sure, there’s a line in the contract that says policies are subject to change without warning, but policies and rates are two different things.Thank goodness we LOVE our photographer and know that this is in no way her fault. Double thank goodness for her that we are loyal clients and not someone new who hadnt worked with her before. Can you imagine how a new client would look at this?TL,DR: Shady, money stealing practices. Dont rent this studio.

I used Kara’s beautiful studio for our daughters first birthday pictures and we will cherish those pictures forever! I have rented Karas studio for sessions and not only is the space gorgeous and well kept, she also runs it professionally with very clear instructions and updated information on the studio. It was the easiest rental experience Ive ever had with a studio. My clients appreciated how easy it was to find and get to as well as how clean and impeccably decorated it was.

Gorgeous studio space! Rates are VERY reasonable and you cant beat working with the owner, Kara! Ive attended workshops hosted here and will be booking the space this spring for some minis. Safe street entrance and delicious coffee and tacos near by!

Simply put, Kara is amazing. Shes a very kind, down to earth person with a great heart. She is also a rockstar photographer and if you hire her (which you should) there is NO CHANCE you will be even remotely disappointed. Kara took my maternity photos for me and they turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! Worth every penny. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5 is bc I scheduled my session about 2 months in advance, I had never got professional photos done before so I wasn’t sure how the whole process worked... the whole process before the shoot was extremely stressful.. paid invoices had gotten messed up, I got an email saying my session was canceled, I had to contact her a handful of times bc I kept thinking something went wrong bc of all of the emails I was being sent. I was also told that I would get a 10 day and 2 day confirmation to be reminded of my shoot.. I didn’t get either, which made me extremely nervous bc I was worried my shoot was canceled. Finally, I had to contact her to confirm my shoot! I honestly felt like I was being annoying BUT I’m about to drop a whole lot of money on an important photo shoot.. so do you blame me?? The day of the shoot I was 30 mins early and she was 10 min late.. not a big deal, but still slightly irritating. Kara was very good at making us feel comfortable and again, the photos turned out great. After the shoot was over and we said our good byes we got our photos within 2 weeks which was the correct time frame. However, I did email a question regarding the photos on how I could print them... no response. Also, on her social media accounts she post tons of her sessions... maybe she didn’t like ours bc she had never posted a photo. Great photos, but the communication part could use some work!

KCM Studios is top notch - from the relaxing and fun experience of the photoshoot, to getting the digital prints in a thoughtfully wrapped package, everything is perfection. More than that though, Kara Payton is not just a photographer, she is truly an artist. Seriously, make sure you ask for her autograph (I guarantee it will be worth a lot one day). Her photos are beautiful and stylish, while also having such a unique flare that is all her own. She never ceases to amaze me. She is always updating her style and her personality does not allow for her to stop growing - nor can she accept anything but perfection in her work. If you are lucky enough to have photos taken by KCM Studios, you will cherish each and every one.

Kara is hands down one of the best around. She is genuine. Her talent and passion for what she does shows in the beautiful memories she creates.

No refund for any reason even if the reason is the studio billed you for the wrong amount and is now demanding double what you paid or you will be canceled. I booked, signed a contract, and paid a month ago with confirmation. They refuse to honor the contract. I was just stolen from. Im out a studio and my money.
