My vehicle was broken into while we were there trying to enjoy the night 🤣 security is terrible

If you rent the lower level there were no access to come up or down in a wheelchair ☹

It’s not a nice place to be bathrooms our kept horrendous out dated paint on the floors old rusted out shower stall in ladies bathroom parking was just as terrible few cars broken into management is horrible and rude they want to talk to you like you’re crazy poor ventilation In downstairs Venue noticed no smoke detectors kitchen was not ventilated it stove hadn’t been being clean That icebox for the downstairs venue was horrible and nasty water was leaking on the floor And by the DJ booth no proper handicap accessibility for downstairs only one ramp to get in the place I didn’t see any fire sprinklers or fire alarms no Fire doors there wasn’t any Fire extinguishers upstairs or downstairs the downstairs venue exit Were obstructive by chairs and tables and benches we would never asked to sign a contract and we left two hours in advance because of management and if you read the contract some of it is double talk The gentleman we met that said he was the owner was nice but the other people he has as assistance management were very rude and saying things she had no idea of what the owner said to us and to make matters worse we were told we could have all the ice we wanted there was only one ice machine we were brought ice down in cooler with no tops or cover on them and we left early because of the way we were talked to and we paid for the extra two hours I know we look for things cheap but we have to look and be more careful on how we spend or money Yes the building needs to be remodeled with updates I saying this place has been here for while so why is it not up to codes or regulations let’s be more careful on how we spend or money We as a Minorityour always say let’s put or money back into the black Community but the businesses owner need to make it we’re there places or nice and not just run down and we will take anything that comes up

I have renting this place for an event for a couple of years for events..reasonably price

Not impressed and definitely would not book an event here. Very dated and is dire need of upgrades. The ceiling leaks on the tables. Also the downstairs area had water all along the back wall and towards the center of the floor.

It was OK had to clean up before we set up for the surprise party. But it turned out good with are touch. After we finish decorating you didnt know it was troostwood.

Its nice roomy for birthday gathering, repass any gathering. Dont know what they charge but Im sure not to much. Need a little update but it will do.

John was very open to our needs and the accommodations were suitable for our needs. The extra came after we had our event more options there became available to us. It is a very nice place to hold any type of function.

Can we please stop giving this place our hard owned money! The place is so ran down you can’t even take good pictures because of the walls so nasty. The owner make too much money here to not keep this lace up. I get it it’s the cheapest place in the inter city but if we don’t demand more he will continue to rip us off.My sisters and I throw our mother a 70’s theme birthday party here and I wish it was another venue to do so. The owner was very rude and unprofessional, so arrogant and disrespectful. The so called dj was an hour late and the wannabe (picture taker) who was never asked to attend our event was making money but we couldn’t sell (stuff). The owner stood with the (late because I’m at the barbershop) dj and talk so much stuff about us because we wanted things to be on time. Like we didn’t just pay our money. The dj would not play anything music from the list we give him, the disco lights was supposed to came with the rental of the building but didn’t work so the owner said we had to pay the late dj $25.00 to use his disco lights. The weekend prior our friend threw a party there and there was two leaks in different areas downstairs, one of the children fell and hurt themselves so I looking for leaks most of the night because I didn’t want any guest to be hurt. The owner gives our mom this dirty no name wine after the disrespectCan we please stop using this ran down shack and do better because if we keep wasting our money here than he will just continue to get away with it.Let’s Ban Troostwood until the owner remodel the whole building

Surprised by its size. It had plenty of room for a large gathering (200+) people.

Fresh toilet paper and paper towels in the restroom. Kitchen, bar, room for a live band. Perfect BYOB

Attended a wedding reception here and it was just awful. Staff had attitudes, there was a guy with this horrible tropical sheet hanging up that was charging $5 to take photos in front of it (nobody wanted to take photos in front of it because it was so ugly but it shouldve been included in the rental price), and there was no water - just a water fountain. What kind of venue doesnt provide basic necessities such as water for an event - or at least let the hosts know that theyll need to provide water? I had to go to the store and bring water bottles for everyone.Overall, this place looked filthy and cheap. The walls had all these dirt and paint spots on it and the ceiling was falling apart in several places. I actually went home to go to the bathroom versus exploring what the bathrooms looked like here. I even had a hard time getting an Uber because of how bad the neighborhood is.I would advise anyone who is thinking about booking an event here to please reconsider.

Terrible in the way that they handle their business they said if theyre in double booked on the same day as my wedding reception so I had to find somewhere else to do my reception at the last minute!

It is horrible, it stink, the stove was dirty and why the womens bathroom had a sink in it that you wash your hair in. I wouldnt have no event their.
