Good food, most of our meal was what you would expect from a BBQ place. Kids menu had adequate options..The chicken breast was very tender and juicy.The pulled pork nachos were the best thing we ordered. Cocktails were well mixed.The cheesy corn was good, definitely has a cheese product taste instead of true cheese.Our server, Nate, was wonderful. Prompt and very friendly and helpful.Over all, good food, but not anything on the menu that would make want to come back regularly while traveling.

We ordered the burnt ends platter, sliced meat platter with 3 meats and the sweet corn nuggets. You got two sides with each platter so we ordered mac and cheese, Cole slaw, baked beans and cheesy corn. Everything was delicious. The brisket melted in my mouth. I couldnt get enough. I am not sure what type of sausage they used but I actually like it and I am not a sausage fan. The atmosphere was good and we loved the waitress. She was sweet. Will definitely be back. Sorry about the pics. We shared food and the picture was after we shared.

I sat at the bar and I had amazing service. I had an old fashion with their black cherry infused rye and it was spectacular. I had the chefs platter, and the chicken was the star which was so tender and moist with so much flavor. I loved the sweet sauce; I normally use sugar-free sauces so I was surprised this one wasnt overly sweet.

Awesome dining experience and not far the hotel that I was staying at. Visiting from Jefferson city Missouri and BBQ, was something that I wanted...Glad I came. Will be back in the future. The burnt end platter and loaded potato skins were excellent.

This is not a negative review, just a difference in taste and expectations. Service was great, staff was friendly and responsive. Restaurant was clean. Their meats were tender but bland. Their beans and slaw were VERY SWEET. All their flavor was in the bbq sauce (and it was also sweet).

The food and ambience was good. Honestly Ive had better BBQ here in Northern Virginia, but overall the food was tasty. I matched it with a local KC beer, and it turned out great! I have to highlight that the server was amazing! Indy went out of her way to make sure we were happy. She was super friendly and very attentive. This made for an overall 5 star experience!

To go order. Wrong ribs we ordered baby backs but got other. half of the bean order, half the dessert. Beans were thin and few very little meat. Burnt ends were fatty and just not burnt ends. Brisket not much flavor. Sausage was mild but good. So disappointed. This has always been my favorite place in the north.

Went here on a recommendation as we are visiting the area, and wanted to try out some KC BBQ. The restaurant is very nice, the service friendly and fast, but to be honest, the BBQ was just OK. Not quite what I was expecting with all the KC BBQ fanfare. I had the pulled pork, and my wife had the baby back ribs. Both were good, not great. We have had a lot better, but we have had worse.

This is our favorite restaurant to eat barbecue ribs. Their the best there is . The best Long ends for the buck and around Kansas City Missouri. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

The food here was pretty good but not really worth the price, we placed a to go order and were excited to get back to the hotel room and eat but our order got messed up and we were missing items that we paid for. Attention to detail is off at this location Im not sure if there are other locations in town but I would recommend one of those compared to this one. There was not a lot of people inside eating and I think I know why but either way go check this place out at your own risk or just make sure they get your order correct and enjoy.

I gave the Smokehouse BBQ five stars because Ive never had bad food at any of their locations. I usually go to the one on North Oak. Its about a 10-minute drive from my house. No outdoor seating at the North Oak location or the Zona Rosa Smokehouse, though, I wish there were, especially in this pandemic environment. Separate menus make ordering easier to use.Honestly, its not my favorite bbq, but its right up there at the top of my choices. In Kansas City, barbecue is a delight no matter where you go, in my estimation.

We got the family platter and a pair of drinks. Ribs sliced chicken, beef brisket and pulled pork. The food was delicious but the portion size wasnt anything the boast about.In fairness the meat was fair size but I expected more from large sides 🤷‍♂️

Got the chopped burnt ends. Flavor with out adding sauce was 7.5 out of 10 seemed like a pre liquid marinade used on before cooked. Guess I am more adjusted to southern dry rub

Smokehouse Barbecue was the first BBQ restaurant I went to while in Kansas City for work. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves good ole fashioned BBQ as well as other unique menu items.

Absolutely fantastic BBQ!! The waitress was very polite and kept our drinks full. The BBQ is out of this world marvelous. For the appetizer I had potato skins. The bacon adds a smoky rich flavor they add a side of jalapenos sliced and sour cream with chives. You have this tiny heat from the jalapenos thats instantly cooled with the sour cream and then this undertone of smokey rich barbecue flavor thats just absolutely phenomenal! For the main course I got the burnt tips with baked beans and french fries. The burnt tips have this amazing smoky barbecue flavor and the sauce is beautifully sweet without that harsh undertone of vinegar. The baked beans were sweet and creamy absolutely perfect. The fries were crispy not hard perfectly perfectly made!

Coming from San Diego, I was super excited to try some KC BBQ. We saw smokehouse from our hotel and decided to stop. Dry meat. The chicken was great. But the potato salad was store bought CLEARLY. Bread was dry. The saving grace for the 2 stars here was the service and the cheesy corn. Would not come back. Sorry KC.

Nothing to write home about. We ordered the sampler platter. It had brisket, ribs and 1/4 chicken. It looked like they poured the entire bottle of bbq sauce on the plate. The brisket was sliced very thin and was bland. I was really disappointed because thats what I was looking forward to. The ribs were pretty good but of the 4 ribs one was dried out and we couldnt eat most of it. My husband said the chicken good. The Mac and cheese was also pretty good. The service was not great. We went to celebrate my sons birthday. The waitress said they would bring out a brownie for him. She never did. He was pretty disappointed.

First time visiting Kansas..we wanted to try the bbq and although its very comparable to st lotus bbq where we came from I enjoyed the atmosphere. Also the pickle fries were AMAZING...all of us were obsessed with them and would go back JUST because of them! The waitress was great and the food was pretty good!!

Its a beautiful restaurant. Big menu to choose from. As far as the BBQ, its is good but not the best I have eaten. My biggest issue was that they sauced all the meats I ordered. It was way too much sauce and I am picky about sauces. I like mine sweeter and I like to decide how much..The sides- good fries, excellent coleslaw, and BBQ beans and corn nuggets are to die for! The cheesy corn is not seasoned so its blah.Appetizers.. Good fried pickles and corn nuggets!! Best ranch dip I have eaten 🥰

Bad food. This not REAL BBQ, especially in KC. I have ordered here many times (but no longer). Not every meat, but most I have gotten here for takeout feel like they have been microwaved. Worse,and the ultimate sin of BBQ, they frequently use liquid smoke instead of the real thing. I smell it every time I pee after eating here…just like asparagus but worse. Bye Smokehouse! Going out for some real BBQ.

Not a very good bbq place. Meat has very little flavor, and sauce is basically ketchup. Drive to the south for Q39 or Joes instead.

Among the best bar-b-que Ive ever had. The burnt ends and short rib were perfect, and the fried sweet corn appetizer was great although not the most affordable on the menu. The mac and cheese side was great with white creamy sauce and spiral noodles. The steak fries were solid. The wait staff at the bar was some of the best Ive had. I would highly recommend.

I wish I had taken a picture of the Ring of Fire sandwich. Brisket and pulled pork was the star of this treat. Add some Jalapenos, Pepperjack Cheese, and an Onion Ring and you have perfection. Really good BBQ and a nice atmosphere. Staff was great!

I consider the Martin city Jack Stack to be the gold-standard for barbecue in Kansas City. The Smokehouse in North KC is very close. I thought it was a little pricy, but that is probably because my view of price hasnt caught up with the reality of COVID. Service was great, and the atmosphere was pleasant.The centerpiece- meat- was delicious, tender, smoky, and very nicely done. The sides were also tasty. I thought the fries were the perfect combination of crispy and tender and not at all greasy. We had some excellent fried pickles for an appetizer with the tastiest ranch dip i have ever had. If i had a complaint it was that the beans were maybe a little too sweet.In all, this is a great restaurant. Would recommend!

I am not a competition smoker but I have smoked my fair share of meats and veggies for several years. I am glad I came here and not opposed to coming back at all. Nice to get BBQ in a sit down setting. Had the battered mushrooms which were surprisingly good, close to the best I have had and the Chefs Special since it had a wide sampling, far more than enough to eat and had to get a to go box. BBQ sauce was on everything which was good, if you do not want that you have to ask beforehand. Burnt ends were just a bit overdone but still very good, chicken and ribs also surprisingly good. I liked the old school touch with the white bread and pickles. I had the cheesy corn and grilled veggies, I thought the veggies were awesome, had nice seasoning and very lightly singed. The sides will often help define a place like this, what I had was very good although a bit limited. Bar drinks probably the lowest score but that does not mean they are bad either, nothing special about them and I thought they were mixed a bit thin. Margarita also came in something barely bigger than a large highball glass. Waitress accommodated all our needs well and did a good job.

Service was excellent. Sweet corn nuggets as an appetizer were great too. The bbq itself was just ok. We asked for no sauce because we wanted to taste the meat without any extras. Good BBQ shouldnt need sauce. This meat needed the sauce.

Great ribs and beans. Liked the grilled salmon dinner. My brother inlaw ordered the salmon salad. Disappointed in the salad....just iceberg lettuce and not much on it.

The Zona location has NEVER failed not to have our order ready or say we don’t even have your order at all at the estimated time given. Literally every time that we place an order and get there to pick it up they always say we don’t have your order EVEN THOUGH they were provided with the order number that THEY have sent to my email address somehow magically the order gets disappeared. Today placed the order at 6:47 and it said estimated time of pickup is 7:42 we get there to pick it up only to be told they don’t have an order for us and when given order number they can’t find it in the system and offered a refund with no food obviously ready. Called and complained to the manager and SOMEHOW he magically finds the order after we had to wait 15 min for the food to be made then he stated that oh we’re so very busy like that’s an excuse. We will never go back to this location and I will make sure everyone that I know family and friends will never go there either. Rude staff and unprofessional customer service.

Came here for dinner a few nights ago and had Sierra as our server. After the stressful year, this was our first night out to dinner as a family. Sierra was sure to make us feel welcome, comfortable and had a great personality. All covid and safety protocols were taken seriously, which made for a comfortable dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant, good food but the service we received was what really made our night! Be sure to ask for Sierra next time you stop in.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! My family and I just ordered from here to come home and have part of our food missing. When I called the store I was told I was lying (by the manager). Mangerbstated he knew there was ranch because he made it himself! What establishment calls the patrons liars. SERIOUSLY the WORST customer service EVER. We will make sure to take our business elsewhere and ensure others do as well.

Everything was delicious!!! First bbq place I ever been to in KC that had great sides along with the bbq ... meat needs to be seasoned a little more but other than that I enjoyed !!! And prices are reasonable and if you don’t eat pork it’s a great place to try as well

It was ok. I was expecting really good BBQ for 70$ for 2. It was not great. There was not a lot of flavor and they depended on the sauce to make up for it and it tasted like something I could get from Walmart! Ohh and the potatoe salad was walmart! Next time I will stop on the side of the road and support our locals with the BBQ trucks. Disappointed

I got a liund of burnt ends and a pound of brisket. The brisket had absolutely no flavor and the burnt ends had a lot of fat. Really disappointed.

This is one of our favorites! The Gladstoner with beef and coleslaw is hard to beat. Staff has always been friendly and prompt. Manager visits the tables and is detail oriented. Tables are better than booth

Our server Rose was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The ribs where fall off the bone tender and the cheese corn was amazing.

We love this place and eat here often. Carson who always answers when you call is the best. He always makes sure we are taken care of. Kudos to smokehouse and Carson.

My wife and I ate lunch here today. We ordered the lunch for two ribs platter, fries, and beans. The ribs were very tender and meat fell right off the bones. They were also nicely seasoned and really messy with sauce, just the way I think ribs should be. The beans were good -- not epic, but good. And the fries were just the right amount of crispy, hot, salty, and everything fries should be. Service was fast and attentive, but not overbearing. Id recommend Smokehouse Barbecue for lunch.

The food was ice cold like it just came out of the fridge, asked for meats made without sauce due to being diabetic but the waitress brought them out covered in sauce. She took them back along with frozen sides. Next side came out barely warm. Meat plate came out with half the meat of the last plate. We asked for a manager and he was less than understanding or accommodating. We just left. Didnt even eat there. Wont ever go back. Would give them 0 stats but at least the waitress was nice.

Very disappointed in the customer service that we did not recieve! We were passed by and clearly not a priority! We were greeted by our waitress with what are we drinking? no hello, how are you anything. Another waiter provided us with more water, a box and our ticket! This was an unfortunate experience and upsetting to feel as if we were not valued as customers. This is a frustrating situation as the food was good but the poor customer service overshadowed our meal.I will not be returning to this establishment.

The food I was served was literally inedible: the burnt ends were so tough I couldnt even chew them. Not just a little tough: completely inedible. I had to spit it out.When I asked for a replacement for my pile of uneaten shoe leather, the waiter said burnt ends were hard to come by so he couldnt give me any more, but he could give me chopped up burnt ends -- in other words, theyd be happy to use a knife to chop the unacceptable dried out meat into smaller pieces. The $4 side dish of vegetables was soggy: either steamed into submission or microwaved from a bag of frozen veggies. Worst of all, this wasnt a cheap roadside dive -- we ended up shelling out over $70 for a meal for two, which is infuriating that I paid that much for food I that was inedible.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Im from Philadelphia and was visiting the Kansas city area for a sporting event, we had heard so much about the barbecue, couldnt wait to try it... This is by far the best barbecue I have ever had, ever. Those hickory pit beans are to die for, so no matter what you order just be sure to get a side of them... I seriously am gonna be visiting Kansas city again...

In KC for 1 night near the airport, I was looking for good barbecue nearby and went to Smokehouse. Going at just after 5pm, even on a Friday, I thought I’d get right in but the place was jammed. To be seated immediately I opted for the bar and had excellent service as well as a bit of local flavor. I got the Chef’s Special for a bit of everything including burnt ends. Everything was great and, having read previous reviews, I had the barbecue sauce on the side so it was perfect, for me. The bartender who waited on me gave me good advice on the beans as a side as well as a good red wine to bring it all together. The atmosphere is nice so it’s a mystery to me why it isn’t rated higher than it is.
