I have an older vehicle, and he was able to fix and diagnose my brakes and my starter problem, and was professional, friendly, and the price was great. No hidden charges. Id like to thank Jared and his team for getting me back on the road, everything was stress-free.

Good shop, actually the first time Ive been there! The parking lot was full, and Im assuming thats because theyre doing good things there! I made an appointment for an oil change and a state inspection, and they completed the task quickly, texted then called to let me know they did so while I was having coffee a short walk away.The business is conveniently located in midtown, just a few minutes from downtown, but close to the plaza in historic Hyde Park at approximately, 28th & Gillham Road. Theres a big open bay, looked like several mechanics working, and it was clean & efficient looking! I was pleased with my first visit there! My son and my sister both had good things to say about their visits too! Anyplace you can take ur car and count on quality care is definitely a good thing these days. Ill be going back! P.J.B.♧

I love going to Value Auto Clinic. I love being able to simply text them to schedule an appointment, get updates on my car, and they can easily ask me questions. Im always greeted by a friendly employee and feel welcomed. One thing that stands out to me is that the last time I went in they were able to finally get my low tire pressure light off. Ive had this car forever and no matter what I did I couldnt get it to stay off. I highly recommend them for any car services!

These guys are not geuine. My vehicle needed an inspection in order to get a new plate number in Missouri. They came up with a list telling me my car has issues, and I need to fix them before my car can pass the inspection. They were basically bulbs issues, break lights. I fixed the bulbs myself.I took my car to a different place and I passed the inspection. I paid just $12.I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody. They are not trustworthy. They are only interested in making money out of you, especially when they realize you are new in KCMO.Avoid this shop!

Same day service on new tires and they came to my apt, aired up my flat tire and drove my car back to their place to do the work. All I had to do was go pick it up 4-5 hrs later. Outstanding effort & very fair price. Would give 6 stars if I could.

3 strikes, youre out. Loyalty should pay but it doesnt. 3 times now these guys have caused bigger i$$u$e$.1st time, brought in a truck we had bought that needed major work, told them this which included taking the engine apart layer by layer. Not knowing how deep we/I had hoped not entirely but said its over all condition was the utmost importance. After they put it back together I was told deeper into the engine work was still needed. So why did you put it back together??? Now they wanted to charge me hundreds to take it apart, again.2nd time. I needed exhaust work, told them exactly what I thought it was. Took it in, they confirmed I was correct but that they didnt do exhaust work :-( and he STILL charged me I have to charge you something Jared said, maybe so but you should have also said you couldnt do the work.3RD STRIKE,,, cost me a different truck entirely. Ford trucks shifting handles often become lose, a simple fix, YouTubed it. The shifting handle was always a little lose but after I took it in because the abs pump wouldnt shut off when it came back I could barely get it into the proper gear it was now lose and broken, the gears popping in and out, was that the cause or the fact to fix the pump instead of replacing it disconnecting it was suggested, ok I said, but they did this not knowing how their solution taking out a fuse might effect other systems. These idiots are so tough on your vehicle taking it there had become only when absolutely necessary. Told Jarred about the eventual outcome and hes ignored me. I was to bring it back for more abuse/work but before I did the shifting gears issue which was not a problem AT ALL before caused the demise of the transmission, I had to sell it for salvage.Everyone makes mistakes, Jared cant accept the fact nor be responsible for those errors. Its not easy to run a business having to hire workers and rely on them but you are still responsible... or should be.Really hate that I cant give you 5 stars, many businesses I go to get them.No Value Auto Clinic.

I have been taking my 99 LHS to Value Auto for a number of years now, and have gotten consistently good service and honest assessments. Just recently, they fixed a long standing problem with the shift lever that has been an issue we knew about when we purchased the car 10 years ago. I hadnt pursued it previously because it was still working and I assumed a full fix would cost in the thousands. Recently, they tracked down some electrical and battery issues (something kept draining the battery) and alerted me that there was an ignition key problem that allowed the key to come out in any position. I asked them to go ahead with the ignition assembly replacement recommended. As the shift lever had recently gotten more sloppy, I asked them to also look at it and see what a repair would cost. It wasnt thousands, so gave the go ahead. I was delighted to get a call that for a couple hundred dollars, they had replaced the box under the shift lever first, and that took care of the ignition problem, so the ignition replacement became unnecessary! Im so thankful they had the wisdom to try that fix first and save me the cost of the ignition assembly replacement. And the honesty to not go ahead and do it anyway. Highly recommended.

Reliable repairs at reasonable prices. I have had nothing but good experiences here. I had recently made an appointment for Brake service at a different shop. After receiving a fairly high quote I went to Value Auto and they provided much more detail in relation to the work they would perform and came in at a lower price as well. Love this place!

Went in for an oil change, told them the year make and model of my car verbally over the phone about a week or two before and they told me $35. When I got to the shop I stood at the front desk for 15 min with no help. Finally someone comes in and they tried to tell me that it was going to be $80 for an oil change. They dont care about customer service and are rude. They said that they didnt carry the synthetic blend that I used and that they couldnt help me. Only after this review and me taking my business elsewhere did they reach out and respond as if to save face online. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE!Update: I was not offered the $39 price until today after this review was seen. I was also told that they didnt carry the synthetic blend oil that I use. After I said no to the $80 price I was told Sorry about that. Have a good day. That usually marks the the end of a conversation.

I have been taking my cars here for years. I have always been treated with courtesy and professionalism. The feeling here is you will get the straight story and get your car fixed in a timely manner. Its not cheap to fix imports but definitely cheaper here than the dealers. I would send anyone here for service. Plus they give you a free ride if you need one.

Value auto has been my go-to for years. I work on my own car but when I need help they are the best at helping me figure out whats going on. Trustworthy, straightforward, transparent.

I popped in for a state inspection and they kindly worked me into their busy schedule. While there I was discussing some work that I did myself to avoid paying so much to a dealer. The gentlemen checked his computer and gave me a price that was 75% less than the dealer, and very competitive with other shops that I spoke with. I will definitely be taking my car back when I have work to be done. These guys are very friendly and truly a class act.

Avoid this shop. Good reviews of Value Auto on Google led me to choose this location for a State Vehicle Inspection. The only positive experience was that they got my car in quickly and without an appointment. It turns out my car flunked inspection due to a leaking steering rack... Firestone tried to pull this fast one on me 4 years ago when I first registered the vehicle. I expected as much from a chain, but didn’t expect this smaller shop to try and push me into unnecessary work. I have never had to add power steering fluid to this vehicle, and I regularly check my fluids - so I can conclude that if there is a leak, it’s a small weep around one of the seals (I haven’t lost any significant amount of fluid) which should not warrant any significant safety hazards. I think it’s a pretty common scam, but I’m not an idiot and I will not pay whatever 4 digit sum you come up with to replace a whole rack and pinion. I am only out $12, so I’m not super upset. I just hope this review may caution you in proceeding with this shop.

I’ve been coming to Value Auto Clinic for 3 years now. As a female with no car knowledge, I know that whatever they say there is true and they are not adding on extra services I “need” I was once quoted over $500 at a different location, and took my car to value auto clinic for a second opinion. They saw my estimate and literally laughed at the amount, saying my car didn’t need half those things done, and the service I was quoted $200 at the other location cost me $85 here. I know what they tell me is true here.They sent text notifications, are quick to get your car back, and will keep you informed every step of the way. They are wonderful!

I took two cars there my first experience was lovely I would use them again my second experience they left four lug nuts loose on my truck my wheel could have fell off on the highway

I just got an inspection here. They happened to be along my route home when I googled MO Inspections, and Im glad I found them. Very helpful, nice folks.

Took my car in when it had broken down and figured the fix would end up costing me big $$$. But Jared was very thorough, asking many questions to diagnose the issue and came back with a solution at an affordable price! They recommended services that were manufacturer recommended, but not pushy about it. They also communicated through text, which is a lifesaver in my line of work. Ill definitely be going back for any future needs.

I have been to this shop several times, and each time i was treated with professionalism. They fixed my timing belt, a/c, and my alternator, at different times. Each time they did a great job. Their prices are pretty standard, therefore reasonable. They have become one of my regular mechanics

Had a rather hilarious experience with these guys when my alternator went out months ago. I had it towed in - I live really close so it seemed very convenient. Everything seemed fine until they called and said they had broken my radiator while taking the fan off to get to the alternator - and now they wanted to replace my radiator! I couldnt believe it! In the process of fixing my alternator they broke my radiator and wanted me to pay for it! They said something about the screws being so rusted and they all broke off in there. Literally every single screw apparently? Youd think after a couple theyd stop and re-assess or call me before they broke all of them? Additionally, once I indicated I would not in fact be paying for the radiator they broke, the ETA for when my alternator would be fixed kept getting pushed back and back... They ended up zip-tying the fan to the radiator and Ill go somewhere else to replace eventually. Im giving them an extra star just for the fact that the story may be legitimate but they handled it poorly.

Value Auto Clinic is top notch. We have relied on them for almost a decade to take care of our autos and find their work to be excellent and the costs in line with other independent garages and clearly less than those at auto dealers. Jared, Jeff, Sean and the rest are terrific.

Great service at fair pricing. Great mechanics. Michael is great at being top notch knowledge of just about any make of vehicle. The rest of the mechanics are just as good.

I had unfortunate luck, going through 3 cars in 6 months due to flooding and a hit and run. These guys are awesome, helped me quickly and honestly every time and worked with me to get some paper work for my insurance company. Really appreciate their friendliness, especially Jeff and Thomas, who are sick of seeing my name.

Jared and the mechanics at Value Auto are amazing. The service is always done when they say or sooner. There have been many times when they quoted me a certain price and then saved me hundreds of dollars when I came to pick up my vehicle. They remember my name and my cars (my husband brought in my car once and they said, What are you doing with Amys car?). Very reasonable prices. Mechanics are willing to spend time with you to explain the problem. I have found my lifetime mechanic shop at Value Auto.

The best shop around!

Weve always taken our companys fleet of vehicles to both the Kansas City location and Lees Summit location. The mechanics there are honest. Ive had instances, multiple times, where I thought something was majorly wrong with one of our vehicles and after leaving it with Value Auto Clinic, they discovered it was something minor and fixed it for a very small fee. If you were to take your car to some other joker, they probably use that opportunity to hammer you. Not these guys, and thats great. That is the kind of peace of mind that we all look for in a mechanic.

Everyone here is respectful and friendly. Ive taken my car there several times for different tire issues and they always get tires ordered and replaced or patched in one day. And they drop me off and pick me up at work!

Took my 4runner in for a quick serpentine, alternator belt replacement. They fixed that issue quickly and for a better price than I was getting from the local shops around my home. Will probably use again in the near future.

I take our work vehicles to Value Auto Clinic. I have begun taking my personal car to them. They have always been fair and reasonable. I would (and do) recommend VAC to friends.

I expressed to the receptionist that I took off from work that morning to get an inspection and was a little pressed for time. He laughed, as if to say, yeah everyone is in a hurry. I kind if agreed and asked for an ETA and he again laughed. (They only had one car ahead of me) I didnt really think it was a laughing matter and felt a lack of trust at this point, so took my car elsewhere. Not sure what was with the attitude, but it was not appreciated.

If youre in the Area or not take your vehicle to these guys!!!!!!!! They know exactly what they are doing and are 100% honest. Ive been using them for two years now. In many occasions they have taken me or my wife in the shop to show us the old parts and their poor condition and the quality of their work. They dont bs and give you honest opinions. Take their word. I was a mechanic for some years and dont have the time or space to do the work my self anymore, so please trust me. The prices are standard, if you want cheap work with no gaurentee take your vehicle to Joe Schmo hell be sure to help. I will NOT take out vehicles anywhere else. PS this dude commenting below me is clueless. When it comes to mechanical work, hardware fails all the time. Its not their fault. If he is afraid of hardware breaking for obvious reasons then he should do the work hemself.

Do not go here, they charge 100% extra for parts, so if a brake rotar cost $26 in the market they will charge $52. All the owner cares about is his profit as mentioned by him Jarred. If you bring him the parts then he says he will increase the labor charges. I made a mistake going here.
