Kalamazoo Tree Service has been in business for years and Ive had them do several simple jobs. This particular review is for a very difficult job they did for me that turned out great. James and his crew removed two towering Oak trees from the back of my house that had large sections of growth above my roof. They carefully took the tree down, cutting and catching each section with rope and then rappelling it to the ground while pulling it over from the ground so it would land on the grass and not the roof. These were like 100 year old Oaks and could have collapsed half my house if they hadnt been removed.I dont even want to think about what I would have paid if this job were done with a boom and crane operation as there is no access from the back of my house.

Kalamazoo Tree Service does a thorough and competent job. We have hired James and his crew for four tree removals and one thorough trimming and pruning job, so we are repeat customers. Once they provide a firm date, that is when they will be there, unless weather forces changes. They are very conscientious about the trees to be trimmed/removed, and will not trim oak trees until the winter, when infection by oak wilt is not a potential issue. All of the jobs we have contracted them for have involved climbing, and that was done safely and expertly, often negating the need for more expensive lifting and hoisting equipment. Our experience with them is that they will only commit to a job that they know they can do; James has talked through each job thoroughly with us prior to committing. They arrive on time and complete the job as scheduled. Clean-up and haul-away are exceptionally strong points, and they dont leave you with any additional work to do after the job is completed. Our repeated employment of Kalamazoo Tree Service testifies to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend them to anybody requiring tree removal, trimming or pruning.

Kalamazoo Tree Service did a great job taking down a dead tree that was close to our house. They were fast, dependable, polite, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend them!

I watched it happen, and I am still not sure how they got the tree limb down without destroying my shed or fence. For reference, I had a 50ft limb stuck up in the crook of a tree with the base resting on the shed. They managed to set it down in a 4 ft space between the shed and a fence. The limb was cut and stacked neatly before they left, and they cut up some nearby logs into firewood for free. Great guys, great service.

Several trees in my front yard had very long, horizontal branches, some dead.I called Kalamazoo Tree Service for this job. James contacted me to schedule to estimate and later to schedule the work. The crew arrive on time and worked to remove the unwanted limbs. The crew removed the brushy parts and left the large sections that I wanted for firewood exactly at I had discussed with James. The crew cleaned up the work area and hauled off the brush and smaller limbs that I did not want to keep.Background: A few years ago Kalamazoo Tree Service removed some large pine trees that were too close to the house and power line. At the time I asked about trimming some oak trees. James warned me about oak wilt and advised that I wait to trim oaks until bitter winter weather. I just got around to getting this done this year.

We got a few quotes and Kzoo Tree was by far the most competitive. The owner is the one who estimated the job and was also on site during the removal which was reassuring because the tree we had removed was near our house.
