I have loved working for Beacon Specialized Living, I have worked for a few homes through out the years and all the houses have been designed to feel as your in a home and not just a work place, staff have always been there to help when in need and help to keep the residents healthy, happy and safe! I would have to say for such a big company servicing many different homes they still do an excellent job to make sure you feel recognized and give the opportunity to advance. The residents I have served over the years have always been awesome with their own personalities, may different ages and ways of life, I also thought that it was so cool that families of the ones we serve still stay in contact with them and can communicate with staff and management when needed, it has been a very enjoyable experience over the last few years and I am happy to be apart of it, the company has grown so much even through the pandemic!
I have been working at Beacon for almost 3 years and have watched this company grow leaps and bounds. There is a desire and drive to be the best that I have not seen within any other company. I am honored to be a part of a company that is always striving to be better and encourages their employees to be better as well. If you are looking for a place to grow and be a part of a fabulous team, this IS the place for you
I would like to share my experience with Beacon Specialized Living. I have been employed with Beacon for 4 years. I have evolved as a person for the things. I have learned while working here. My passion and love for our Residents and Staff. Is very important to me in ensuring every day, is a day they will remember and embrace. Through compassion, and respect.
Ive been with Beacon for two years now and find myself fortunate. I work with a dedicated and compassionate group of people who care about the folks that we support. It’s nice to work somewhere that I know I can bring person-centered philosophy and actions into the environment, conversations each day, the work that we do, and the supports that we provide.
For the 4 years that I have been a member of this team, I have been granted the treasure of seeing resident growth and willingness to continue to develop independence. Beacon is made up of diverse teams that have drive and dedication that is continued to be demonstrated through the care for our residents and the progress that they make. Its always a thrill to be able to see a residents growth and development for independence. Beacon is a place that looks for improvements and the most effective ways to provide top quality care for all individuals involved. There is never a dull moment working within the company, and every moment spent doing so is life changing for both ourselves and our residents. As we continue to grow as employees, our residents continue to grow as the wonderful people they are which makes everything we do worth it. Our progress is not defined by graphs and charts but by the smiles and joy that we are able to bring to our residents lives each and everyday. I am proud to be a Beacon employee.
I work with an outstanding group of people at Beacon! We work collaboratively to brainstorm new ideas, evaluate current programs and systems, and problem solve challenges. Our focus is on helping each client learn and grow to live his or her best life. I have had opportunities to help start several new programs to support some individuals with challenging needs, seeing them living successfully in these settings makes me proud to be a part of the team that made that possible. My job is full of challenges, but the rewards of watching both clients and staff grow and develop new skills makes it all worth it.

I have worked for Beacon for almost 9 years and enjoy building relationships with amazing residents and staff. It is defiantly an amazing team to be apart of and has been a huge part of my life for nearly the last decade. Beacon is an amazing company to work for with tons of opportunity for growth and development. The staff and people I work with are very compassionate and caring individuals who strive to help our residents on a daily basis to help give them the best lives possible. Beacon goes above and beyond trying to engage our residents with in house activities and spirit days along with activities and outings outside of the home.
I enjoy working with my staff and residents. I go out of my way to give each and everyone of them the support and respect they deserve. My staff and residents mean the world to me and I find ways to show them everyday. Whether its sitting with a resident listening to them and offering a kind word and support or putting in incentives and bonuses to staff that deserve the recognition for the hard work they do. Or telling them thank you for everything you do for Mission Point and the residents it is so much appreciated. My residents depend on me to be there for them and support them their smiles and words of greetings at seeing me walk in the door at work are enough to give me the drive to try and work harder everyday to give them what they need.Beacon Specialized Living has been an awesome employer! They have offered me support and encouragement since Ive started here in March of 2021. They acknowledge me and the work that I have done and they are not afraid to give you bonuses for the work you do. If your willing to go the distance with time and effort Beacon is the place for you! I love My Job, staff and residents and do not regret coming on board at Beacon.
Beacon Specialized Living! What can I say? This place has been a huge part of my life for that past 17 years! It takes caring & compassionate people to do what we do! We have amazing staff that work here who care about the residents we serve who have mental illnesses and developmental disabilities. We all come in as individuals to work everyday and come together as a TEAM to help our residents achieve their goals in life. Helping and caring for others is a good choice. Beacon is growing and if you’re interested in helping others as a career, Beacon is a FANTASTIC place to work!
Our company was acquired by Beacon almost 2 years ago. In that time, I was pleased with the expedient approach the company has used to ensure that staff and clients have had access to necessary vaccinations (COVID and flu) with easily accessible clinics. They have made our health a major priority.
I was with the company for 15 years prior to Beacons involvement. It is a company that is very focused on being person-centered and has continued to be so. A couple of years ago I had the privilege to be a part of a team that was helping individuals move from very large living settings to smaller settings. The managers and support staff were involved in talking with the individuals about if they would like to live with those they knew, who they would like to live with, where would they want to live, etc. Beacon really listened to that information and followed the recommendations of those that knew the individuals best. Beacon involved the people who knew the individuals best in selecting the locations and the houses. The moves have been really successful! People are happy with the small groups of housemates, the yards they now have, and the voice they have in the decisions they make on a day to day basis. I currently have the opportunity to train new staff into the company and set the stage for person-centered services and interactions with the individuals. I enjoy training staff to the ICARE values at Beacon and how those values come into play in interactions with the individuals we support as well as with co-workers. I really enjoy having the chance to encourage positive interactions and help staff successfully transition into Beacon and their new positions. I believe this encourages a positive environment for all of us!
I have only been working for Beacon now for a few months as Home Manager. Beacon like many other places has its flaws but in my few short months here, they have shown me that they really are a strong team striving to find their weaknesses and diminishing them to become the very best. In all of my working career, I have never been recognized for any effort put into the work I do. Today I was blown away by a simple recognition and a pat on the back. It is very reassuring to know that my effort matters and is seen. Today I walk away from my shift with a huge smile on my face and the reassurance that I am doing something right!! I am very grateful for the team I have the pleasure of working with and know that we can achieve great things to make our residents quality of life the best it can be.
I have worked for Beacon Services for 16 years! I started as a Direct Care Professional, then a Lead in the home, then a Assistant Manager, then Home Manager, then a District Manager, now I am in the Learning and Development Department. I now facilitate orientation and trainings everyone completes when hired for Beacon. I make sure that every new hire knows and understands that we are the residents family. We are here to help them have the best life possible, and the best way to do this, is by following our ICARE. ( Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence) By doing this you will be able to advanced to a new position just as I did here at Beacon!!!
I began working for Beacon Specialized Living in March of 2018. I am a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities and believe a home is the foundation for a good life. I am in charge of creating that home environment for our residents and this company has always afforded me the means to that. I am routinely in our homes and interact with our residents and staff on a regular basis. I am lucky to see the happiness that instills from positive interactions and continually improving environments. We have amazing people that work here and care about the people we serve, it makes it really easy to come to work. Beacon expects their employees to provide exceptional care to our residents, not everyone is up to the challenge, its awesome to work along side those who are.Dan Rippinger
It has always been my dream to help those in need as a little girl. It wasn’t until I became a CNA that I realized I truly enjoyed helping people. In 2013 I almost lost my niece at the age of 2 years old who is now disabled. She has had a major role in my life decisions to help those with disabilities and mental illnesses. I truly enjoy what I do everyday even with the daily struggles that I may endure at Beacon. Being at Beacon for almost 3 years has had its ups and downs, but it has been an amazing experience to watch our clients grow and see how far they come. To focus on what they need the most help with and make that your goal to help them achieve and watching them do just that and knowing at the end of the day it was you and your coworkers or your staff members that had a part in their success. Every day is worth it. Not everything throughout the company is perfect or the people working for Beacon, but you can bet that everyday the people that work throughout Beacon are making plans to make Beacon Specialized Living a better organization and planning better support for the staff and clients. I show my staff I appreciate them not by only telling them, but providing them with coffee on Fridays, pulling them into my office and checking in to make sure they are okay, joking with them, or just simply saying hey I’m here for you no matter what it is. Join our team and I can bet, things won’t be disappointing like maybe they used to be when the company was brand new 😉
I have worked for Beacon Specialized Living Services for more than 15 years. It is a challenging job with a challenging population, but is so rewarding. Our residents and their growth is inspiring. Im continuously in awe of our caring staff, clinicians, medical team and operational staff. If you are looking for a job that has room for growth, presents opportunities for personal and professional development, each and every day, consider a joining the Beacon Team. You wont regret it.
I have worked for Beacon Specialized Living for over 20 years. I was working for another company when Beacon took over. I was concerned for the residents we care for and how they would handle the change of service. The fact that the residents didnt see the change and it was a great transition made me feel calm and secure, knowing our residents would be getting the best care. Working here has helped me connect with my community and help support in ways I would never have before. The residents we service are impacted daily by the amazing quality of care we provide. Especially during Covid and the trying times weve had, Beacon has gone above and beyond to make their residents and employees feel valued, welcomed, and appreciated. Beacon Specialized Living is a great place to start and build your career!
I have worked for Beacon for over 13 yrs. I have had the pleasure in working in the Maintenance department helping to provide a safe and welcoming home environment for the residents we serve. Being able to see the smiles on the faces of our residents when their home gets something as small as a new coat of paint, or some new furniture makes coming to work rewarding. Helping others in definitely worth working for Beacon.
I have worked for Beacon for 22 years and have seen a lot of changes. The changes that have impacted me personally, is the opportunity for growth! For me, coming from the small family owned business to where it is now is missed, but this happens when you grow a business. I know for a fact that growing the business and being able to serve more people, was the desire of our former President. I’m happy to know that his legacy will continue as long as Beacon continues to grow. The staff that I work with make me feel like family which I cherish and appreciate.
I have been with Beacon Specialized Living for a little over 4 years. During that time, I have advanced with the company, going from Director of Compliance to Vice President of the largest region that serves our most challenging population. I have grown a lot in my role and career at Beacon. I have a great support team that goes above and beyond to care for those that we serve. At Beacon, I have really found my passion for providing services for those that need a voice. Best career move I have ever made. Team Beacon!!!!!!
I truly appreciate the outstanding efforts our company has made during this pandemic. Every effort has been made to ensure that we had the information, training, supplies and PPE to do our work effectively and safely. I feel safe in in saying that my co-workers, have been on board with the health and safety of every one here. That alone makes for a excellent working environment.Helen Voltaire
I have been employed at Beacon for the past 13 and a half years. I feel valued, appreciated, and supported by my managers and district director which I pass on to those I work with. I have had the opportunity to move up even as a night shift staff to where I am now as a assistant home manager. Training and encouraging the staff I work with to continue to also learn, grow as a staff, and move up the levels. Beacon is a great place to work as you always have the opportunity to not only move up in the company but you are helping those we serve by providing a caring, safe, and compassionate home environment for them.
Beacon Specialized Living Services is a great place to work to gain experience and advance your career. Motivated and dedicated individuals will find no shortage of opportunities to grow within the company. There is a structured training program that gives staff the tools required to be an effective team member. Beacon is always focused on process improvement and providing the best care possible to the residents we serve!
Beacon Specialized Living is a great place to work. I started working for Beacon in 2019 and have loved working here. I have had the opportunity to be promoted multiple times. There are lots of opportunity for all staff to advance in their careers. As a company we care for adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities with the goal to help individuals live their best life. We have amazing staff that work here and care about the people we serve - this can be in all departments- everything we do as a company is for our residents.
Beacon is a great place to start your career. I started about 3 1/2 years ago as a Home Manager and in a short amount of time and hard work was made a VP of Operations. I left my previous job of over 10 years to come work at Beacon and was the best move I have ever made. I absolutely enjoy interacting with my team and residents every day. I highly recommend working for Beacon.
Beacon through all different levels is a positive place to work. The number one priority at corporate and in the homes is always the residents. We are here to have them enjoy life and keep them safe. I couldnt be more proud to work for a company that has this priority. As an employee, I am treated with respect. Working for Beacon is rewarding.
I have worked for Beacon for a little over 3 years. I really enjoy working with our residents they always make me smile. This company just like all companies have their ups and downs. But I really have enjoyed being here.
I joined Beacon in 2021 and have to say it is one of the most collaborative and supportive organizations I have worked for. Employees at every level of the organization go above and beyond to provide the best possible care to some of the most vulnerable populations. While the environment can be challenging, it is very rewarding to be part of a team that is committed to excellence, and promotes growth in both the staff and residents.
I am proud to be a part of the Beacon team. We successfully support many people who have not been successful in previous placements. This success is due to the commitment of our Direct Support Professionals as well as the support staff and management who remain focused on our goal of helping people achieve their best lives!
I have been with Beacon for 18 years and I am proud to say that since the very beginning our core value has remained the same - we are here to serve the residents. And that is exactly what we do! That can be seen from the top down, all day, every day. We are a team and we support each other in all areas!
I have worked for this company for almost 23 years. Beacon lives by the ICARE values for our residents and staff! Ive had the privilege and honor to see this company grow, which has allowed us to serve and care for more individuals in need. Beacon provides nice home, activities, nutritional meals and coordinate of care so our Residents have a great quality of life. Beacon offers all employees the opportunity to grow within the organization, benefits, flex hours, free meals and free activities in the community. If you are looking for a career to serve others, then Beacon is the company you want to work at!!!
I have been with Beacon for about 1 year and 8 months now after Beacon bought the company I had been working for, for 20 years. At first I was skeptical, however, during the past year + with Beacon, I have seen that Beacon is dedicated to providing quality care and support for individuals served and has recently dedicated more resources into providing quality clinical services for individuals throughout Michigan. Beacon has been enhancing clinical support in the form of case management, therapy, on-call services, and behavioral support services to help individuals and staff achieve their best life.
I have been with Beacon for 7 years. I feel privileged to work at a forward thinking company that always puts the needs of the people we support first. I have had several opportunities advance my career here at Beacon. I have a great support team and enjoy everyone I work with.
I have worked with Beacon for a couple years combined now. I worked in a group home setting and in a home with fewer residents. Both experiences have been great! I am very happy with my job and look forward to more time at this company.
I have worked with this company since 2007, Beacon took over in 2019 and nothing has changed in the way they run things. They really care about the health and welfare of all of the residents. They treat them like family. It is so refreshing to see the smiles on everybodys faces. It feels good to make a difference in peoples lives.
Ive been working with Beacon for 4 years and is definitely one of the best company Ive worked for. Beacon not only cares about the individual served but also cares about their employees as a whole. Beacon has a great support system and is always trying to find ways to improve their services, work environment and management.
I love working at the Cleve house for beacon the clients are amazing I love waking up in the morning and going to work knowing that my clients are there and they are happy when I come in I can’t think of a better place to work. Love knowing that I am doing the best job I can to make my clients happy that’s all that counts
I have been working for Beacon for over 10years, in a lot of homes throught he state of MI. I love my job. I love the impact that we as support staff have on our clients. To help them live their best life possible. I fell in love with our clients, fell in love with Who Beacon is and the care we provide, and continually striving towards better. I would not choose another career outside of Beacon.
I am proud to work for Beacon Specialized Living. I can honestly say employees on all levels from direct care to management understand the importance of our mission and the responsibility we have in supporting the individuals we serve. Yes the work at times can be very challenging but it is so rewarding to support individuals with specialized needs and be a positive impact in their life.
Ive worked at Beacon since 2018 and I really enjoy working for a growing, and always improving, company. Ive been fortunate enough to be a part of a great team, and I always feel like the work Im doing is creating a positive impact in the lives of the population we serve. Covid has definitely been a challenge for everyone, Beacon included, but I know with the team we have we will pull through successfully.
I have never worked for a more supportive company. The support that is available is unlimited. Everyone is willing to go above and beyond to help each other out. The work can be difficult at times due to the severity of our residents but knowing you are making a positive impact on peoples lives make those difficult days worth it. I have never been happier in my work/life balance.
It is so rewarding to work with the residents at Beacon Specialized Living. Even though the work can be difficult at the end of the day it is so satisfying to know that my hard work has made an impact on someones life who needs the support I have to offer! I go home everyday knowing that I made someones life a bit better - and that feels terrific! I have received great training and support and been promoted for my efforts! Beacon is growing and focuss on promoting from within-giving me the opportunity to grow right along with the organization!
It such and excitement and gratitude to be part of such a extraordinary organization for 12 years, which does not seem like a job everyday coming in. The work that is done is an opportunity to give back to our community with servicing our clients. It such a pleasure and an honor to have a great team of people that we can work together for the same purpose with such a positive and family oriented atmosphere. I say a team because together we have the same goal in mind to accomplish to see the outcome of our clients for the in betterment of them integrating in the community, to having a successful lives, to be apart their well-being and safety of our clients, is what makes it so great to be apart of BEACON. The statement ICARE is what BEACON stands behind, that’s what makes it uniquely designed to attract those that will have the care about our clients we service and that makes me so excited to wake up and knowing that I am not just waking up to go into a job but I can go in and look forward to being in a place with likeminded people who truly do care. I look forward to see what the next 12 years looks like for our clients and for me as well.
After working in the Mental Health arena in many different capacities, I continued to struggle to find a Company or Provider that believed providing care and services for even those really tough Residents. When I was hired by Beacon almost four years ago, it was very clear to me what their belief and mission was. They had continued to grown in numbers of Homes, and CMHs that they coordinated services with. Compliance is a tough place to be within a Company if you dont have the support needed to fulfil the needs of the residents; and ensure the right things are happening. I was able to take my vast experience and do just that. I was hired in to work with all Teams and Departments here at Beacon. The Compliance Team has continued to grow with Beacon and there have been some great care and services provided for our Residents. Beacon Homes are truly the residents home and great things and fun is happening!
About to celebrate my 15th year with this awesome company!!I have great coworkers and my supervisor is the best!I dont get to interact with the residents everyday but when I do it really makes my day. This isnt just a job its a career.
I have worked for this company for 17 years starting as a DSP and was able to work my way up holding many positions. I find that all my hard work and willingness to learn has helped me grow as a person and employee. I know for a fact that Beacon offers more then most companies do for there clients and are constantly looking for ways to support not only our clients but employees. This field takes a special person and at times can feel unsupportive because there are so many polices and procedures to follow but they are really in place to ensure the best and most consistent care is given, I think anyone willing to learn, be a team player and dependable will find this a very rewarding company to work for.
I came to Beacon in 2019 and have been overjoyed with my teamates and the work i see being done every day. Beacon cares for the residents we serve from corporate down, and it shows. Employees are given training and incentives to grow and progress in their careers. If you have a loving heart and wish to serve others join our winning team!
I have worked a Beacon since August 2018. I have moved from a Direct Support Professional to Manager within that time. Beacon promotes within which gives entry level staff a chance to grow. Beacon has given me the opportunity to grow as a person, a student, and be a better advocate for those we serve.
I have been in human services for several decades. This is by far, the most effective provider rendering treatment that I have been associated with. They walk the talk.
Your employees like Jennifer are using meth at home and during work yall need to drug test or something
This company does not care for their employees. They change policies and plans every week. Poor Management. They gave no race during the epidemic. There’s no appreciation for employees at all. Of course upper management don’t see what employees go through with their clients. They don’t really care to be honest. As long as you come in to work and do the minimal they are okay with it. They don’t even deserve a one star 0.
Ive been working for the company since since March 2019 i started at DSP worked my way up to manager. Thank you for all the training you guys gave me to achieve the level Im at.
I have been employed with Beacon for over 3 years! Beacon takes pride in the way their homes look and the care they give to our residents! Beacon works with the residents to achieve their personal goals. I have had the pleasure to have three success stories. Two resided in one our all ladies home, both achieved their goals on controlling there anger issues and use their coping skills. Both moved into their own apartments, working a fulltime jobs and one of them had a baby after being on her own for a year! Both are still doing great! The third resident was a male that resided in one of our all male homes.. He came to Beacon on parole and had some goals to achieve so that he could go live on his own. He did very well, so when it was time to get off parole he could move into his own apartment! Beacon offers a lot of great services to help all residents work on goals and trained staff to help them achieve their goals.
I have a close friend who used to work for beacon she put in her 2 week notice because a resident filed charges with recipient rights after which she was suspended indefinitely pending the findings from recipient rights. After waiting a week and with rent and car payments coming up she needed money so she went and put in her 2 week notice and found a different job. Since then she has tried to resolve the situation and beacon has done nothing but ignore her and now she is threatening a lawsuit if she does not get answers. Beacon suspended my friend because allegations were made and then never contacted her with the findings and changed her termination date to the day she put her 2 week notice in she never received the full-time benefits she paid for and she was a full-time employee. I have went with her to a lawyer and the lawyer has said that she does have a case however my friend does not want to go to court unless she has to she would prefer to resolve the issue herself but beacon is ignoring her and hanging up whenever she calls. Now Beacon is denying her unemployment so she has no money to even buy food to eat. From everything I have seen and heard Beacon does not care about their employees or residents. My friend also has knowledge about a resident whos health is in jeopardy due to Beacon employees. I have told her to call recipient rights and report it but she wants to try to get a hold of Beacon to see if they will resolve it first and then if they do nothing she will report it. After all this i would never recommend working for beacon unless you want this to happen to you as well.
Beacon is an amazing company caring for some of the most loving but challenging people that need compassionate and professional care. If you are a giver and able to put others ahead of yourself, you have common sense and are willing to learn the skills of a Direct Service Professional, you will advance quickly and have the opportunity for a rewarding career.
I recommend not working for this organization. I did for a year, and was led to believe I was doing well. I was a District Director in the East Region. Then suddenly, I was asked to take a demotion. I declined as it was un warranted so I was let go. The company has potential, but it has poor leadership and they do not train individuals in their position, then they point fingers and place blame when situations occur. I hope this review helps someone think twice before becoming part of this poorly ran agency. Turnover is wayyy too high. Good Luck All...
I worked for this company and was hurt on the job more then once and this company did not care always short staff and you have to find your own coverage. I worked in station Michigan and only one place has good management...the outher 2 had poor management the company allows the management to violate the rights of the residents who live in the 2 homes with poor management this company is all about the money the ceo is aware of things and dont care. This company only pays good because no one will work for them. And the 2 houses with poor management talk about the staff all the time. Thair are 3 homes on the property the cottage is the best home if the same management is in place...the outher 2 homes are bad to work in. This company is bad to work for. And dont care you are mandated to stay over .you get a little sleep and your back in.i have made calls and sent emails . I hope something is done. I plan to call the tv news channel to do a report as well.So Beware if you work for this company.
I worked in the Northern region for Beacon. I never had a good day there as far as management interactions are concerned. We had a home manager that doesnt know what shes doing. She makes up rules and procedures that are not a part of Beacon protocol. If residents are having uncontrollable behaviors, she hides in her office instead of getting on the floor and helping. She constantly encouraged us to redirect the situation. The residents are not just animals that you can redirect with a laser pointer. Theyre people that arent always calmed down by their redirections. None of the residents there received the quality of care that they deserved from her unless they were one of her favorites. We basically only saw the home manager when it was meal time, a cigarette break, or she was coming out to tell us more rules that she made up.Staff at that home were over-worked and grossly underpaid. 10.25 an hour IS NOT enough to deal with violent residents, or getting feces thrown at you, or taking verbal abuse and belittling from your boss. To summarize, dont work for Beacon and dont trust your loved ones to Beacon.
Would not reccomend someone to work here.the best part is a 3 day work week. This job has me mentally drained. So short staff it is a hassle to miss a day for emergency. Management sucks and they hire in whoever they can.people dont show up for their shifts.so your forced to stay after a 12 hour shift until someone comes in.
We have had the pleasure to work with Beacon for the past few months. The staff at Beacon are dedicated to their residents. Its inspiring to hear their stories and see the support of the team. These jobs arent easy, but Beacons culture of care creates support for employees and residents.
Horrible place to work. I wouldn’t advise good people to work here. They are unprofessional and habitual liars. This is a company that lies about the care for residents. Corporate is all white and have racist ways. They don’t value employees(Home Managers and Direct Care Workers). I have nothing good to say about this place. This is the worst place I have ever worked.
The work we do here is very rewarding and Beacon truly cares about the people we serve. We provide a quality living environment with managers and direct care staff who give their all every day to make a difference in the lives of many individuals.
The employees that serve Beacon are amazing to work with on a day to day basis. Always friendly and willing to extend a helping hand. However even since the company has been bought out by a large corporation the family owned caring atmosphere is no longer being promoted. Its all about money, cutting costs, and which employee is going to be the best drone to the big bosses. Its sad because majority of the long standing employees are gone now- weeded out from corporate take over, as is the Follow your Dream Leadership that this company was initially built on. This aloof demeanor projected from the heads of the corporation slowly drift down to the residents that are served, Smaller Management and staff turn over is high as initial trainings are rushed- staff are overworked in each home, and the pressure to work more- know less- dont ask or else, and individuality is not appreciated; causes a heightened anxiety atmosphere in the homes that could be avoided. To care best for the residents an employee must feel comfortable and secure with their job and/or career, and Beacon has lost the meaning of putting the Residents First. Beacon puts Beacon First, residents second, staff last, and believe it as they will cover Beacon rear end over anything else - morally right or not, it doesnt matter. Great at sales pitching, not so good at follow through. But for what the main corporation gives the many homes to work with, the homes do an amazing job of trying to keep it together and give 100% to their residents of what they have.
There is a lot of neglect in many of the homes throughout Michigan. VPs made aware but choose to ignore the concerns. There have been several recipient rights filed and substantiated. I wouldnt place anyone I love in the care of this company. Mentally Ill deserve better! You can also read the reviews on Indeed and see how unhappy employees are.
Beacon has excellent team members who truly care about the residents they work with and quality facilities that are always kept up.
Worked there. Stuck with medical Bills they refused to pay due to in house incident. Learn how to treat staff better. Poor wages.
I got hurt on the job. And they refused to pay for my medical treatment/visit. So I got stuck with the bill.
5 stars! Beacon Specializeds employees earn good wages and have opportunities to advance into management quickly.

When I first got hired my pay was off and my check was short, and there seems to be some issues with efficient scheduling but there does seem to be some effort to keep things moving.
I love our work here and the people we serve.
Do not work here. They only care about money and dont value their employees as people, only numbers. Do not voluntarily put anyone in any of their homes.
Lovely place and good people to work with.
Great company and amazing people!
They are not helpful they’re lazy and stupid!
