A nurse practitioner laughed at me when I expressed a serious medication concern. Floored by the lack of professionalism
I was a patient at this facility for around 5yrs, maybe more, but in all of that time, I never once suggested anything on my own, and instead deferred to the judgement of my psychiatrist, Amy Reed. For a while that was fine, and even worked well.. I thought that we knew each other well enough to be candid and so when I finally did need help with my crippling anxiety after the most traumatic event of my life; to my utter shock, surprise, and disappointment none was offered, and the options I was given were ridiculous, and in my opinion, morally wrong, and almost antagonistic. You dont put someone on Seroquel for anxiety when a plethora of real anti-anxiety medications and other solutions exist. I hold no malice towards these people, but if you have real anxiety and need actual help, I would recommend going elsewhere for help.
The entire facility is absolutely amazing. Randy Estes and Amy Reed are the absolute best. I would recommend them to ANYONE. Both are very knowledgeable, non judgmental, and super helpful. Both providers truly care about their patients, and will go above and beyond to fit you into their schedule if needed for last minute situations/circumstances. Kim and the entire front desk staff are also amazing and always so kind, patient and helpful. Mental Health has already become a huge stigma in today’s society, if you need someone to talk to, please go to Pine Rest! You won’t be disappointed!
These people hate their patients its super sad I will never trust doctors again because of here
I am very happy with John Wheeler. He is knowledgeable and caring. I feel he really listens. I never feel rushed. He has even helped me on virutual visits. I would recommend him to anyone.I am also happy with S. Boyd, who has paid close attention to getting me the right meds. She is friendly and cool... knows her stuff. For your meds, go to her. However, I do not like dealing with the office staff. One lady ignores me while Im standing right in front of her. She absolutely seems irritated with the job or me or both. Their phone system is the worst. No one ever seems to answer it and there are too many options to, if youre lucky, get to a real human being. This is critical as I have to go through them bc I cant email my provider. Place does not feel warm until you meet with the providers mentioned above.
Very unprofessional. Had to reach out several times to get off my medication because they kept forgetting to get back to me. Visits are 5 minutes and $150 per visit. Would not recommend this place to anybody.
Not even sure where to start...
LOVE Amanda Walker! Have have a hard time finding a therapist I connect with and I definitely connect with her! Its always great to have someone to talk to even when you have nothing to talk about.I also wanted to include Susan and Chris who have worked so hard to save my life! They both spent so much time to help me get prescriptions I need to be on but my insurance will not cover. I can not say enough that if it was not for them fighting for me I would not be who I am right now. I have never in my 32 years found people who cared so much and do not treat you like a number they treat you like a human being!
They have great providers here. Idk what is up with all the one star ratings? They listened to my needs and what didnt work in the past. Susanne Boyd is an awesome provider and Im definitely going back to this provider.
We use this facility for our medications, Fred does a great job of working for a positive result, we have experienced some errors with communication between them and the pharmacy, but they have always corrected the issue, the facility could use a better air filtration system as some times there are problems with odors in the whole facility, But as for assistance Chris and Fred have been terrific
I feel like most members of the staff are clueless on what to do on there end. dr Rivera has not changed my meds around one bit I have been completely in control of the dosage and which medications I tried. he seems to not Believe a word I say. He’s very condescending rolls his eyes, laughs at issues and to top it off I went into my very last appointment so I could refill meds while I look for a new clinic and was trying to end the appointment as fast as possible as I told him I did not like the way he was working with my issues and he gets up and pulls a small dictionary sized book on all of the practices he does. the fact that he barely showed me what the actual book was and hid it as much as possible was not ok and really upset me with that because mental health is a very wide spectrum going by one small book is not gonna help anyone if u follow it word for word. you need to work around different problems for each individualized person you cannot treat somebody with practices that were used years and years ago things are changing and so are people.
Pine rest helped me in a time of need, however it came with a price $$$. The financial assistance was helpful when it was applied. However, there were constantly delays in the system and the info was never up to date. I paid every time then got hit with a multi hundred dollar bill because my financial assistance apparently ran out and was not informed this and i was unable to reach anybody in the Grand Rapids? office to help remedy this. Now i owe you hundreds of dollars??? Shame on you. My wife literally owes you thousands of dollars and you are sending her to collections as well. I dont care how much you may have helped, ultimately youve broken us financially while doing it.
Friend came here after having a mental breakdown. History of abuse and attempted suicide. Was told to go somewhere relaxing like a spa. Really?! How is this place in business??
It can take a long time to find the right therapist, it took me three times, but its worth it. You really have to ask specifically if you are looking for someone who is more biblical. With my severe ADD and not always being able to understand things, no one here has given me a hard time about it, like some other place has.
This is a very unprofessional place. I was placed with a NP who was always very rude to me at every visit. When I requested to see another practitioner because I didnt think that person was a good match for me, they told me that I had to go through a process and get permission. I waited and waited until I finally called back only to be told that they still do not have permission to make an appointment with another practitioner. At this point, I needed to have my one medication filled (which was Prozac). They never followed-up with that either. I finally called back and they told me that I would have to find another provider because they couldnt help me. This was over a month later nearly two months. I felt that this place did not care about me. The staff were always rude, inconsiderate and showed no compassion.
Very rude and unprofessional. My family member was told they needed to be quiet. Thought this was a Christian establishment, but was VERY wrong. Nothing Christian about it.
There are several issues here. First of all is their nurse practioner who prescribes medication. She is HORRIBLE and I would have given her 1 star! When the first medication she gave my daughter for anxiety didnt work well, she gave her an additional one, and then another one until she was on 4 different medications! Never thought to simply CHANGE the first one! She also absolutely refuses to use benzos for anxiety. She thinks she knows more than the FDA that has approved benzos specifically for anxiety. My daughter started having dizzy spells and several medical issues including an irregular heart beat! The nurse practioner denied it was the medications she had her on. When my daughter went to her regular internal medicine doctor and she saw the irregular heart beat and what medications she was on she had a FIT! She immediately took her off 2 of the medications and within 2 weeks the dizzy spells were gone and so was the irregular heartbeat! I then had enough, and switched her prescriber to one outside of Pine Rest!! Dr. Walden, her new doctor took her offer all that she was one, put her on ONE new medication, and her anxiety is gone and NO SIDE affects! However, the therapists out at their Portage Clinical are AWESOME! I cant recommend Karin Kennedy and a younger woman my daughter saw named Heather. Both are extremely well qualified and excellent therapists who work with you and any medications you are on to help you learn to manage your anxiety! We both have had WONDERFUL experiences with therapists out at the Portage office.
Trying to move my care out of the VA using care in the community. I spoke with the biggest airhead who couldnt answer my basic questions and the VA assured me they knew what to do and they are clueless.
Fairly good service here. i still wish to see the service improved
I have felt very helped and listened to here. I highly recommend Judith.
This place is incompetent. I took my son there to see if they could take care of his anxiety. He was on Prozac and Abilify. They switched him to Welbutrin and Seerquel and said since they affected the same chemicals thered be no problem with a switch. Three weeks later they upped the doses considerably. One week later hes committed to their residential community severely agitated. The doctor there told us you cant switch Prozac with Welbutrin, you need to get off Prozac first and it has a long half life. He was there a week getting weaned off of Welbutrin. Now, no one in the Kalamazoo office will see my son to help with his meds, I call every week to get an appointment and am told hes been released by the original incompetent doctor, but no other doctor in the practice will agree to see him. Yet. Keep calling or waiting. Its been four weeks. No accountability for the first doctors mistakes. No reckoning or apologies. No help. Just limbo.
Person I was seeing here always seemed like they didnt want to be there. It didnt feel good opening up.
Very unprofessional place.
Horrible most unprofessional community mental health, the psychiatrist told me as a diagnosed epileptic,to stop my anti-seizure medication and get off all medication except what he puts me on...um that was my first visit and he never even asked me about the issues i was actually there for! Sorry but this place is for the birds! No clue of my medical history or the issues at hand all he said was get on the same page and get off all other medications when he never touched base on the matters at hand. I was there for help, not help making me feel worse!
I was treated like cattle in a slaughter house and then to makes things even better, I was cornered and the man made an attempt to be vary inappropriate. And no one cared or believed me.
They love to misdiagnose people
I keep getting calls to reschedule all my appointments for that last 2 MONTHS and they say have the pharmacy send them a request for refills and then ignore it. They turn the phones off for lunch and dont have a voice mail option. If you need help do Not go here!
It felt like the mental patients escaped and took the place over.
The practitioner Amy Reed pushed my husband over the edge so he got a little mad, she wanted him to call her nurse so he could deal with him ., Amy Reed is the worst my husband almost committed suicide cause she wouldnt listen to what works
Disappointing
